Christine Barber has written a sweet, short little romance in Believe in Me. It was good enough that I'd have loved to have a little more back story -- for example, how did she ever fall for her obnoxious boyfriend in the first place? Especially when she had a sweet guy right there at her side, ready to support her dreams. Ah, well, love isn't just blind, sometimes, it's downright stupid, right? The romantic in me has to assume there's a HEA in the future for Lily and the right guy (I'm trying to avoid spoilers), but if Ms. Barber had wrapped things up too neatly, it wouldn't have been believable. The semi-cliffhanger ending was perfect. Maybe we'll get another installment in Lily's story soon. (Hint, hint, Ms. Barber.)I'd recommend this for a sweet little read by the pool, or in the line at Walmart, or just because.

This short story drew me in and kept me riveted. As the tale unfolded, and Lily became more and more real to me, I was hooked. So often a romance novel pumps out words that you "chew on" but they don't "taste all that good." This little number is like having a tasty treat that just wraps you up and makes you want more. The ending was like the cherry on top - sweet and short. It make me imagine the comfortable and wonderful relationship that could be! So warm and cozy that I want more!!!
