This book is written with a very funky structure that leaves you in nothing short of confusion. The transitions are not smooth and really do not adequately explain anything in a way that you can recall actions later and see how they connected. It's very rocky. And definitely feels rushed. You never get a chance to really fall for the story because you are too busy trying to figure out what exactly the author is trying to tell you.Every character talks the same way. So, unfortunately, there is no true distinction between them. And over all, there really isn't much in the way for character development. The focus is definitely spent on the world building. That being said, the world building was pretty good. You get a good idea of what you're supposed to be seeing most of the time. However, Fischer has a very limited descriptive vocabulary. This led to everything being not unlike everything before it. In this way, the writing felt stiff.I had a hard time sitting down and reading this book. I often found myself bored and not really absorbing anything I read. I put it down, sometimes for days at a time, and when I picked it back up again, I couldn't figure out which perspective I was supposed to be in, and what the relevance was to everything happening in the story.By the end of the book, you become aware of the connection in one manner but not the others. I was okay with the who but I am not at all impressed with the how or why. As for the where, Nevaeh, really? That really cheapened the read. I'm all for the religious sides of things, but that is almost a mockery, in my eyes.As for the creep factor, I thought it was done well. I only think there should have been more.I don't think I will read any further because I just had a really hard time even finishing this one.

I got this book because I thought it was Christian fiction. It does have a plot of good vs evil, but there is a lot of vulgar language as well as promiscuous behavior. It could have been really good if the author had left out all of that. It's possible to paint the same picture in someone's mind without using the vulgarity, or being specific about the bad behavior. Personally, I would not recommend this book and have no desire to read the rest of the series, even though this one leaves you hanging. Which is another thing I really dislike.

R.E.M. is an exceptional story of faith, hope, and fear. Corrie Fischer did an excellent job in taking me on three separate journeys which led to one unexpected and artfully crafted end. The story did start out a little slow, but by the time I was half-way in I couldn’t stop reading. This story has strong believable characters, humor, and excitement that is sure to please. Definitely a must read, and I can’t wait for the next in the series.

Shattered perceptionsRenee is a girl who jumps over a . . .into another plane.Emily is a girl who falls into the same plane. When each of them arrived in this new plane, there's a lot of perfection. . . on the surface. But things are not as. . . as before. Will both girls make it back to their own plane of existence or will they be stuck???Enjoy!!

An interesting taleAn interesting taleThis story started out a little slow to me and I almost stopped reading it but I'm glad I continued. The way this story ebbs and flows back and forth between the characters is nicely done then in the end it all flows together and provides clarity.A good read

Horrible! This is one of the worst books I have ever attempted to read. Finally quit, it is that horrible. It's all over the place. Seriously, this is writing? The author should be ashamed.

The Hidden World(Shattered Sky Series Book 1)I am not really into these types of books. It was well written so I actually finished it. I think it would be better appreciated by young readers. I won't be finishing the series, but it was a good book to stray from my normal reads.

Very interesting and fulfilling fantasy tale from a promising first-time author. Weaves an intricate blend of fantasy and pseudo-religion. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a unique story
