** I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review***well I may have begged also!!!This series is one of my favourite Contemporary romance series, I adore AC Wilsons writing style, she brings normal everyday characters to life, and there being a country feel, horses and such in the theme is all the better, I love horses as well as reading!Book 3 is about Nora Johnson-White big sis to Matt and Garrett, a Rebel as a young girl, she soon had to grow up after a summer fling leaves her heartbroken and expecting, her life is irrevocably changed. At the end of Book 1 Randy finally convinced Nora to marry him and this book is set after the wedding glow has faded.Randy White is a good man, husband, and stepfather. He worships the ground Nora walks on, but somehow along the way they have drifted apart, he desperately needs to reconnect with Nora but doesn't know how to start... Then when a local lad Colt, who has made it big on the music scene returns to the town to play a gig, secrets are uncovered and Randy realises he needs to get the big guns out if he is going to win back his wife! This is a great story, I loved every minute of it and Ms Wilson did a great job in writing in two male characters who I had a real hard time choosing who's team I wanted to be on... #TeamRandy I have to say is who I rooted for, but I certainly felt for Colt too.I recommend this book series to any reader, the supporting characters are all well written, you can really get involved in these books, I love being swept away into the Black Hills countryside, I would LOVE To visit Deadwood...and the Black hills, Maybe one day but until then I live vicariously through my favourite book characters.

I have to say that this was my favorite book of the series. I have a love for Nora, I guess her outside of the box image and personality are what draw me to her. There are so many layers to Nora that she is having a hard time even knowing who she is. The one thing Nora is for sure about is that she is completely unhappy with her life. She married her Long time boyfriend Randy and couldn't be more unhappy with her decision. Randy and Nora hardly ever speak anymore and don't even sleep in the same bed. Nora's past will come back to haunt her and leave her head reeling. The decisions that she makes in these moments will change not only her future but everyone in her paths future as well.Randy has been in love with Nora since he laid eyes on her. After numerous attempts to marry her, she finally agrees. This marriage isn't turning out like he expected in fact its everything but what he expected. Randy knew there would be good times and bad but this is the worst and he doesn't know what to do other than leave. This book will break your heart, and break your heart some more. I wanted to crawl in the book and hug not only Randy but Nora. This is an emotionally packed book. I loved the bond that this family has, they really do stick together. They all want each other to be happy and you can really feel that. I love how the authors writes, she puts in so much emotion that you can feel what the characters are going through. I thoroughly enjoy reading this authors books and cannot wait for the next book Black Hills Secrets. All of the Black Hills books are standalones. You do not need to read in order to understand each individual book, however I am not sure why you would want to read all of them because they are fantastic!!!!

The third book in the Black Hills series, Black Hills Rebel returns the reader to Hot Springs, South Dakota. Familiar characters from the first two books make an appearance as well. The first in the series was about Matt and Andy, the second Rayne and Garrett, and this third is about Matt and Garrett's sister Nora and her husband Randy. As always, Travis, the father of Matt, Garrett and Nora, serves as the guiding voice of wisdom. Throughout the series, Nora was a character I grew to like quite a bit, and this novel served to expand on her character since she and Randy are given the spotlight. What I've loved about the whole series is that the people have felt like people that could exist in reality, with all their joys and trials that they have to face. Black Hills Rebel is no exception to that, and I found myself involved with the story from the beginning. I could relate to the emotions expressed by both Nora and Randy as well as the doubt and fear as they face trials in their relationship when neither was sure of what the future held and the uncertainty that both felt and expressed over the course of the novel. Because of that, I could feel empathy for both Randy and Nora, but especially Randy. Even though they're supporting characters in this particular novel, I loved the roles that Rayne and Garrett played in this novel. They brought a smile to my face a few times throughout the book.Overall, I recommend this book to readers who enjoy romances with a western setting and contemporary romance. My rating is 5/5 platypires.

Cowboys, country music, and the Black Hills of South Dakota - PERFECTION!I've now read all three books in the Black Hills series and although I thought Black Hills Angel (book 1) was my favorite, Black Hills Rebel is giving that a run for its money!Nora is unhappy. She's been married to Randy for a few years now but because of a secret that she's had for 7 years, she's unable to truly find happiness. When it finally is all too much, when she can't take the pretending, the lying, or the sadness anymore, she finally reveals her secret. Colt Cavanaugh, her high school sweetheart, is back in town bringing with him feelings that Nora hasn't felt in years. Will her secret finally set her free from her despair? Will she finally find herself? Will Randy, her husband, be the one to help her figure out what she's been missing or will Colt be the answer? This was one hell of a ride!! Nora is a mess. She's unhappy but can't even figure out what it is that will make her happy. She's truly lost. She has a husband that she knows loves her but she feels she's not in love with him. She's always thought her heart has belonged with Colt. I know who I was rooting for throughout the book - but you'll have to read to figure out just who it is that makes Nora find herself - and happiness.I love the Black Hills series - I can't wait to see what A.C. Wilson has in store for us next!

Black Hills Rebel is the third book in the Black Hills Series. These books are standalones, and can be completely read on their own, but, let me tell you, you won’t want to read just one. Set in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota, Black Hills Rebel is Nora’s book, and her quest for happiness in her life. She’s been married to Randy for a little bit, but she is not happy. She is a mess. Nora has a secret that is draining her and seeing her high school sweet heart is drudging up feelings that she hasn’t felt in years. She has to decide who it is that she really wants. Will it be Colt or Randy? This book, is AC Wilson’s best work to date. There is everything that I loved before. The Black Hills setting, makes it feel like home. AC’s writing picks you up and drops you right into the middle of the story as it unfolds. The writing is impeccable. With a little bit of everything, gritty angst, a great cast of characters, and a whole lot of happy you don’t want to miss out on this book.Grab this book. Seriously.5+ Stars

A.C. Wilson just keeps getting better! This is the 3rd book in the Black Hills series and quickly became my favorite! Nora, ever the rebel, always lets her mind lead her heart. Her husband, Randy, is more the passive type. Which has put them in a bad place when an unexpected person from the past suddenly is in the picture again. Nora must decide which path to take. Randy must decide if what he has with Nora is worth fighting for, and if so, he has to figure out how to stand his ground with her. Can this Rebel and Cowboy figure out what is best for them both without destroying them completely? A.C. has a way of writing and making you feel as if know these characters, their town, their lives. Beautifully written and includes a bit of it all, angst, love, hurt, sadness, tears, happiness. Looking forward to the next one in the series!! **All of the books in this series are stand alones, however I recommend reading them all because they are just that darn good**

I was given a copy by the author in exchange for an honest review. You will take one crazy ride in this book. Nora has been keeping a secret for seven years and she just can't keep it any longer. She has been unhappy for a long time and can't seem to figure out what will make her happy. Will revealing her secret make her feel better or will it make everything worse? Will it be her husband, Randy, or will it be Colt, her old flame, that will help her figure out where her happiness is? You will have to read it to know what happens. I really liked this book nd the author did an outstanding job with it. I look forward to reading more from this author.Review done in conjunction with Nerd Girl Official. I love this series, it feels like your part of the family!!! This is Nora's story. After years of Randy asking Nora to marry him, she finally says yes and actually goes through with the ceremony. But 2 years later, things aren't going so good for them. Their relationship has become very strained. But when they go out to the bar to hear a band with here brothers and their wives/girlfriends, Nora's worst fear and biggest secret is revealed. The father of her son is back!! Nora has to sort through her feelings for her past first love, one that created her child, while Randy sits on the sidelines trying to win his wife back. But when the father threatens to take her son, Nora goes on the defensive. The whole family try to offer advice and help in any way they can. But sometimes love just needs time to sort itself out.

AC Wilson is AMAZING! This being the 3rd book of the series its easily my favorite! (Until her next book comes out! lol)This story hit home with me because I feel for Nora being stuck in her life looking at it from the outside!Nora and Randy are more like roommates then a married couple!Randy has to decide if Nora is worth fighting for when Colt comes back into the picture! And Nora has to decide to run with the feelings she has for Colt or stay with Randy? Decisions, decisions! Its a push, pull angsty read that keeps you guessing to the end!

Nora just wants to be in love and be loved. Little did she know she was but she felt very lost and held in Everything so others wouldn't be hurt by them. When a band shows up to play at The Well everything changes. Nora is unsure what or who she wants. Secrets are held tight and Nora,is falling apart. Randy tries to be who she wants and needs but trying to get her to fall in love with him all over but nothing ever goes as planned. Great Book. Love this series.

Nora's story was amazing. She is married to Randy, but thinks she is still in love with Colt, with whom she shares a son. Reading this was kind of like being on an emotional roller-coaster. Most of the time I was still trying to guess the outcome. I would definitely recommend this book and suggest that you keep the tissues close.

I read this one after reading Black Hills Angel (which I was in two minds about liking.) I did find the author much improved from the first novel (yes, I skipped the second one) - the writing was much tighter, flowed well and the story line was more interesting. But again I had issues with the heroine Nora, whom I liked in the first book. I found her more and more frustrating as the story went on. I found myself just wanting to yell - make a decision already! Randy was OK - again I was frustrated with him too. My interest was waning toward the end but I did like the ending. So just 3 stars from me but it sounds like other readers are enjoying the series more.

This is Nora's story. Nora has been married to Randy a hot cowboy for 2 years, she has a 7 year old son with Colt a hot country singer. Nora's marriage is on the rocks because she can't stop thinking about Colt and telling him about his son and hoping to be a family. You will be on an emotional rollercoaster with Nora and you will do the ugly cry. Who will Nora end up with? Will she finally have the family she has always wanted? This is a must read and I will definitely be catching up on the series.

***I was given this book in exchange for an honest review***I did like this book, i just struggled with the story a bit. I liked Nora from the first two books, but in the beginning of this one she came across to me as selfish and spoilt and i found myself disliking her. Maybe that was because i loved Randy, he is sweet, caring and a hot cowboy. The writing is good, the story is easy to read and I'll definately be continuing with the series.

EmotionalWow this was AWESOME. I felt so much for Randy and Nora I wanted them to be happy. This is real life and the author pulls you in having you feel what the characters feel. I felt as if I was nora. Great writing wonderful story.
