The heroine of this book told her husband to have a mistress because her sex drive was off.Let me give you a minute to process that,ok?Oh well. All done, are we?As you can see, the writer of this horrible and utterly shitty magnificent book, is not only making a laughing stock of a legitimate medical condition, she is also painting her heroine as someone who suffers from brain damage. Can you say BAD FORM?How about BAD TASTE?The heroine’s husband luuuuvs her, but, alas, he brakes their utterly moronic agreement no sane woman would consent to ‘pact’ to just rub it off with his (brand new!) mistress and -naturally- the evil OW gets pregnant.Because condoms and the pill are just so taboo in today's world, aren’t they?Oh, and how can I forget? The evil OW wants him to leave his wife.Because she is an evil bitch.I understand that. I sympathize!Who shouldn’t want a cheating scumbag that goes around rubbing his penis against other women while his wife is ill?And the hero?(Lord, I almost choked on the word ‘hero’)Well, he wants them all! The mistress, the wife, the works! Why?Because now he has a SON!And we know those are worth more than anything else.Eff those girls! They suck big time!(was this not written by a woman??)Oh yeah! Booo-yaaah!He is the man! All man! He has cool BOY producing sperm!Where are my pom-poms?Yahoooo!Erm...where was I?I don't really know. And this book is not really worth the rew. *Throws the book away and goes for ice cream*

This book was slow and just bothered the crap out of me. How stupid was the main character Anya? She gave her husband permission to cheat, is literally insane for letting the baby mama come into their house on several occasions like a friend or family member, and then decides she wants her husband to herself again after all of that. There was really no climax to the story and it was just blah. I do give Rax credit though, the editing was near flawless but the story just didn't do it for me. I did really like one of her other books My Daughter's Boyfriend, so I might still check some of her other books out.http://sheenathebookgeek.blogspot.com...

When I first read the synopsis of this book...I thought, "O' HELL no!" So of course, I wanted to read it, just to find about these crazy characters. But as I started reading, I found it was kind of interesting. So many things this novel could turn into. A writer could have a field day with this idea, especially if you throw out all conventional ideas of relationships.I truly believe that so many marriages don't last because everyone falls in love with an idea of what it SHOULD be. But no two people are the same, correct? So why should any two marriages be? People get too hung up on fairytales and things about movies and relationships that just aren't realistic. So...enough about my opinion, about the book! From what I've read so far I want to keep reading. I want to know how this plays out. Do I think this woman is wrong to offer her husband a mistress? NO. Do I think she is wrong to expect him to get no attachments to this woman and mostly for it to be JUST oral sex? YES. I mean if you're going to give the man a mistress, you might as well let it go all the way. Intercourse and all. She wants him to be satisfied, but under her limitations. These things don't work like that.Anywho, I'll write more after I've read more.So I've finished the book. At times I couldn't put it down. I was in awe of this wife. I definitely understood where she was coming from. If I was a single woman, I would probably think she was stupid and weak, but as a married woman I think she is very strong. It is hard to keep your marriage good and happy ALL THE TIME. It is so easy to say, "I want a divorce." But I have always said I don't believe in divorce. But this woman took a lot of ish in this book.I thought it was thoughtfully written. There were a few editing errors, and a few characters I really didn't like. But it was a very thought provoking book.I recommend it to married couples.

The more I read on into this book the more pissed off I got. I can't believe I read it all the way to the end. What woman in their right mind would agree to their husband having a girlfriend? Did she really expect that her husband would go along with their deal and not break the rules?? The wife took it very well she always was the doormat in the situation. She didn't have a voice. It upset me because when she did speak, she wasn't heard. Everyone in the book pissed my soul off beside Vette. She was the only one who had some actual common sense. I will say that the author did a good job with suspense. I couldn't even predict what was going to happen next. I would recommend it but the story had my blood pressure rising too much. I couldn't keep calm. Not sure if I would read anymore stories by this author because of this book.

I liked this book I just thought it was slow and drawn out in most spots. It was also over the top and unrealistic. Anya the wife in this book is definitely ONE OF A KIND. This novel is a mess that just keeps getting worse. I actually got angry at most of the characters. I just couldn't believe nor stand that these people not only keep making the same mistakes over and over but also on the other hand, continuously put up with it. I wish there would have been a better ending as well. It ended rather abruptly. It didn't seem like anything really worked itself out or got solved. . . realistically that is. The characters solve the problems that have been plaguing them this entire novel on one quick page near the very end and live happily ever after. Not fulfilling at all after trudging my way through this entire book.

I just got done reading this book and i got so fustrated many times with all characters except vette and the kids and riley..first of all with Neil for agreeing with Anya's contract. If he couldnt handle her the way she was then he didn't deserve her and needed to find a woman who could make him happy instead of putting himself in a tempting situation and 2nd of all for still going behind Anya's back and doing things he wasn't suposed to be doing and knew was wrong and he knew would hurt Anya if she found out. Then i was mad at Anya for her not sticking up for herself alittle more and just being the passive wife and not getting on Neil more about the way things need to be. Either her or me and she didnt really say that till the middle of the book. She could have done it on her own.. there are many women that do. i am one of them. She does not have to put up with that. at least i wouldnt. And last but not least Dani.. the little bitch who wouldn't leave Anya's husband alone after she knew they were going to work on there relationship. She couldnt just leave him alone and find herself her own man, even after Anya told her how she felt several times she still went behind her back also. Anya had him first fair and square and Neil was not leaving his family for a little lust affair. If he wanted to leave her he would have done that by now.dont u think? But Anya had alot of patience..something i wouldnt have had in that situation.. oVERALL A GOOD BOOK.

I love/hate this book. It explores the cheating theme very well but it is a very emotionally draining read. The wife annoyed me because she put herself in a position that no other wife would. She was a complete doormat, yet her actions were to an extent quite realistic. The mistress was just a bitch. She acted like an innocent to the wife, but had double intentions. The husband was the biggest idiot of them all. He acted like he wasn't in the wrong and kept cheating! The wife should have left his ass to teach him a lesson but because she didn't she actually encouraged his behaviour. A very good read for those of you who like the cheating-theme.

Even though I couldn't picture anyone dealing with the situation I really enjoyed the storyline and narration. There's no way I could have dealt with things the way Anya did. She had her moments where she snapped but I don't think I would've allowed things to get the way they were without someone getting physically hurt, sheesh. Talk about messy! I enjoyed the play of spirituality that came into the story. And I rwally liked the relationship between Anya and Vette, Vette was a little firecracker. All in all it was a pretty good listen that tugged at my emotions up and down.

I wanted to jump in this book and choke out the three main characters.Anya is a doormat. I know it probably happens, but there is NO WAY on this green earth NOR any other planet that I would stay with my 'husband' (quotes, because he was barely that) after he gave me a disease. NO way, NO how.And the NERVE and unmitigated gall at him just giving Anya the pills? Why the HELL wouldn't she refuse? I don't care if Jesus Christ himself handed me some pills and told me to take them, the FIRST thing I'm asking is what they are and why...and even then, I'm STILL not taking them, and I'm going to Google my ass off, and THEN I might proceed to hurt him. Not sure. Can't call it.Dani is some kind of confused ass. Crying about how she can't have a 'real' relationship, promising to Anya that she won't sleep with Neil anymore, and STILL trying to do it every chance she got.I forget how old she's supposed to be in this book, but she acted very young. I'm sure she loved her baby, but all she was concerned about was being with Neil, and I think that was on her mind more than her kid.And Neil. THAT sorry MF...He NEVER admitted responsibility. I suppose we should be happy he's there for his son?But honestly, what brand of hot buttered bullshit is HE smoking? The night he called his wife by Dani's name, there is no way I'd go BACK and sleep with him. I would have to promptly tell him to leave and go to his whore's house.I hated him most of all. No accountability. Getting mad at his wife when he does screwed up shit, which happened practically every single page. There are only so many 'I'm sorrys', and he reached his quota very early on.Eff ALL of this. The entire story pissed me off so bad. I almost stopped reading this, TWICE, but I'm not a DNF girl. (Honestly, I think I need to get some stars for finishing this shit.)

The story line was a little slow at some points which is ironic considering all the drama that takes place. But it did keep my attention until the end so for that I'll rate it as pretty good. What frustrated me the most was how unrealistic the story was. No woman in their right mind would be ohk with parenting their husbands love child, let alone have the woman over for thanksgiving. What I did love about this book were the moments of reflection between the characters and themselves and God. It made you reflect upon your own morals while reading.

This booked pissed me off every.single.chapter. I pray to God that a woman like the character, Anya, doesn't exist in real life. There's just no damn way a sane woman would propose something so ridiculous!! I felt myself becoming VERY annoyed with the three main characters!!!! I only finished the book because I paid for it!

Loved how the book was written in present tense; not a tense that I am used to reading in. At first, I felt awkward about it, but before the end of the first chapter it pulled me in.Reading the different perspectives of all of the different characters was also interesting, but it wasn't enough to save the plot, unfortunaely. The book was riddled with series of mini build ups that never really climaxed.

I didn't like this book at all. I would start to feel sorry for the main character then remember that she bought almost all of this on herself.

Anya has lost her sexual drive and she and her husband seem to be drifting apart, so in order to save her marriage she grants him a contract to get satisfaction from someone else, but a breach of contract may destroy this family. This story is told from different character narratives, jumping from wife to husband to mistress. With a title like My Husbands Girlfriend one would expect drama and plenty of scandal, yet this story was so mundane with only a few sizzling moments. A lot of was dialogue of each coupling arguing or contemplating. It’s not that the story was boring but after each episode I kept asking myself when do we get to a juicy part. There is an incident involving antibiotics that could have been so much better. Everything was very vanilla and ordinary, maybe a bit too realistic. The book was deceiving in keeping me reading because the dialogue was great and it is well written yet nothing really happened. Hooray for a happy ending.Received the book for free through Goodreads First Reads.

I've read all the reviews on here prior to me writing mine. I think first of all if I were Anya this would have been a really short book! But I think this book will make you open your mind about what marriage should really be about especially if you give it to God. I think this will definitely be a great book for my book club to discuss. I found the book frustrating at times just because I wouldn't have made many of the choices that most of the characters would have made but that's what reading is all about...being able to step out of your comfort zone. Great job for that! TaNisha Webb KC Girlfriends Book Club President

Picked this book up for the cover alone. Come one, what girl wouldn't??? The book is told by a bunch of different characters in the book. It makes it easy to tell who is telling the story though because the chapter is the name of that character. I do get annoyed by the girlfriend because she is a slut and I got annoyed by the wife cause she puts up with the husband. It's like watching a Maury or Jerry Springer show. I did like the drama, but it was annoying.

this book makes a good case for polygamy, had she choose a second wife and not just give husband to have "oral" relations some of the drama could have been avoided. That said I like that it addressed the unofficial two families that exist w/o the benefits of polygamy. African Polygamy where FIRST WIFE choose and he can AFFORD to take care of both

I won this book through Goodreads: First reads. I really enjoyed this book, but sometimes the characters annoyed me. But i think they were supposed to. It is a hard story to tell and the author does a great job of showing that every character has flaws. I think its a good read for every adult. 4 out of 5 stars, worth a read.

This book taught me patients and understanding, the power of God when it comes to relationships. To understand this story you have to a womam who know what she wants and what she desire.. One statement comes to mind "Being open-minded does not close doors it allow for opporunity to become present in the darkest of time".

Aaaaarrrggghhh, I wanted to scream throughout this entire novel!!! I found myself so pissed off with the main character - it was freaking ridiculous! I guess the fact that I got so riled up means Cydney Rax must be one hell of a writer...either that, or I have some deep dark secrets in my past life O_o

Interesting story but very dryly told. Interesting because Anya didnt go looking for trouble....she specifically asked for it! Every choice sets off a chain reaction. She had to learn to own the role she played in creating this disaster.

I liked the plot of the story but didn't like the ending...She could've done something different to keep the drama going that she had during the course of the book. All in all it was good...Bout to read her other one now - "My Daughter's Boyfriend"

I enjoyed this book a lot. This book is about a women who have an arousal disease. This wasn't fair to her husband so she allowed him to have an affair. One thing led to another and her husband ended up geting another woman pregnant. Now she has to deal with her husband's other family.
