** re-read, 4 1/2 stars, My only complaint is that I wish this book was longer. This book was really, really, really good and I got sucked right into the story and the world building (which was really well done especially for a short story). But I was enjoying myself so much that seeing the percentage on my kindle rise started to freak me out a little. I also really wish this book had an epilogue, yes I want EVERY book to have an epilogue but this one could have benefitted from it so we could see things in the future(but I have no clue what book two is about so maybe thats why there was no epilogue). There was so much more that I wanted this book to explore and not because the book was lacking far from it in fact, but because the book was so good and the story was so good I wanted more. I wanted to explore other characters, and I wanted more of Charlotte and Rebel, and more of Charlotte's brother, in general I just wanted more. This was a great first book by Ellis Leigh and I think she shows great promise for a new author. This is one of those books that you are glad just falls into your lap. It had a great mix of shifter/biker, and where some authors seems to try to mesh two strong dominating story lines(MC/shifter) together not knowing about them both enough to make it work well or neglecting one strong storyline in favor of the other Ellis Leigh managed to not only pull it off but pull it off beautifully. When you pick two strong story lines like shifter and MC and neglect one or you don't have enough knowledge about them it hurts the book to the point that the book could be a total failure. This book had none of these problems both MC and shifter was written into this story brilliantly.Charlotte works at a strip club as a waitress to make money to support her disabled brother even though she has a degree she makes more money as a waitress but draws the line there. When Rebel and his club get word that there is a lone wolf causing problems they set out to investigate and wind up at Amnesia the club Charlotte works at. The instant Charlotte and Rebel see each other both feel the mating pull even if Charlotte doesn't know what it is. But things quickly go downhill at Amnesia and Rebel will not only have to adjust to finding his mate but keeping her safe when the loan wolf is on the loose, and explaining who he is to a woman who though humans were alone on this earth. Just when they think the problems are solved Rebel will have to decide if he and his wolf can agree to mate Charlotte with the cost so high or if he can walk away from the mate he never thought he would find. This was a great book I can't wait to see what happens in book two as well as the rest of the series. I was hooked from the begging till the very end. While some novellas don't have enough story line to hold your attention this one had enough and then some. I really hope Ellis Leigh make the books to come longer because there is just so much to explore in this series, and I think it would only make this series better.

It was an attempt. That's all. Followed a cardboard, cookie cutter plot/insta-mate format that had a backdrop of an MC world that was superficially ornamental when paired with the paranormal aspect.A short story(so, didn't waste that much time) with characters who are very unimportant.

The premise of this book was great but for me it was just too short. The beginning confused me as I wasn't sure how everything was divided up.I didn't connect with the characters and sometimes I felt that it was forced. This is just my personal opinion.

“But when he turned my way and met my stare, my knees nearly buckled. One look into those sky-colored eyes and my body responded.”You can imagine yourself just how her body responded. Or, you know… read the book. Wolf shifters, guys. Wolf. Shifters. Need I say more?I’ve known Ellis Leigh’s writing for a while, so that wasn’t a concern. Her writing is fantastic. With fantasy series setting up the world is key. I think Leigh got it spot on, and I’m sure throughout the next installments we’ll get more and more details on how things work.See, in the Feral Breed Motorcycle Club there are two types of shifters: those who were born that way and those who were turned. Their belief is that their inner wolf behaves differently. One thing is for certain, though – when they meet their Mate, everything else becomes irrelevant. They live for her, they breath for her and all they (and their wolf) will want to do is be with her.In Claiming His Fate Abraham Rebel Lynch, a president of his own wolf shifters den that is also a motorcycle club (CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?????), is leading them to a club in efforts of learning the identity of a rogue shifter who’s claiming human sacrifices.Cherry is a waitress in a Milwaukee strip club, and when a group of men arrives for a party she is forced to “upgrade” her role from waitress to, well, a whore. She is actually a very good computer IT but was forced to find a better paying job so she could support her little brother after their parents died. You can guess the rest, right? Only you can’t really – because Ellis Leigh twists tradition and makes it all very modern and enlightening, and everything Rebel thought is put up to a test and if he passes it, well… it will all work out. Leigh weaves this short story very carefully and touches every facet beautifully. Oh, and did I mention Leigh’s writing is filthily delicious? Because it is.I can’t wait for the next installment where Gates meets his mate. Should be epic.

I liked this novel! However, like many the only complaint was that it was pretty short.I absolutely loved the possessiveness, hotness and steaminess between the H/h.

Shifter romance 2.5 to 3 stars.I nearly skipped past this book but the synopsis pulled me in, I liked the idea for Rebel finding his mate after two hundred years.Charlotte may have a degree but she earns way more waitressing at Amnesia Gentleman's Club than she would sitting at a desk using a computer, and waitressing is all she does she doesn't dance or do extras, that way she can hold her head up and talk about her job with her brother without shame or regret.Charlotte gets called in to waitress a private party and when she sees Rebel she just stops, the attraction is instant and strong, she doesn't understand being human but after two hundred years Rebel has finally found his mate. This book was a quick easy read and while I liked Charlotte's character I wasn't totally sold on Rebel, it also seemed a bit rushed towards the end and yes I know this is a first in series but I do like an epilogue so was a bit disappointed that this book didn't have one.Normally I wouldn't continue on with a series after giving the first book 3 stars but I'm more than a little intrigued about Gates book, after all he's a legend being four hundred years old and still unmated, it sounds too good to resist.

Good short story. It is nice to see an alpha not so in tune with his wolf. Makes for a change. I love how strong Cherry is. She is able to stand on her own, and take care of her little brother. This was not the typical MC story. I guess wolves make all the difference.I do recommend this book.

Fast paced, adrenaline, sexy and a bit scary all wrapping in one quick story.Rebel and his club head out to check up on a possible "man-eater" , a wolf or wolves that harm or kill humans, threatening their secret.Cherry a waitress at the gentlemens club gets more than she bargined for during work. An undeniable instant attraction to a sexy man in bikers gear, threatened by her boss to work the basement, almost killed and increadible hot sex including multiple orgasms....What a night! While Cherry deals with learning about shifters Rebel has his own problem to deal with. After talking with Blaze Reble has to ask himself the question: Are the wolf and man two seperate enitities or just one single shifter?Rebel was just like a man, he doesn't realize what he had until its gone. Cherry I liked because she didn't just drop everything for Rebel but stood her ground for what she wanted and needed.Great read! Highly recommened for readers who love shifters, a little bit of danger and of course hot sex.*I received a copy from the author for my honest review.

First time author for me. If you enjoy alpha male wolf shifters and a MC chapter riding nomad to protect the clans, this one will be a good one to read. I liked Rebel's struggle to come to terms with balancing his wolf and human side. Sweet love story with an alpha male shifter willing to make changes for the woman he loves.

I should have really liked this one, shifters and a MC book, how could it go wrong! Sadly after about 30% I gave it up. I can't really put my finger on what didn't work for me with the book, just that with each page I found myself getting more and more disinterested. In the end this one wasn't for me.

Mc-lite story with a shifter mate twist. The book was ok but I don't understand if the human mate can live as long as the shifter mate.

DNF 36%I'll start by admitting I'm not a fan of werewolves. Never was. I always laugh and say it's because I'm a fan of Vampires and those usually don't play for the same team. But actually I think it's more about me not liking the "alpha show" in general, not in "realistic" romance as well as in Paranormal Romance. Granted, in Paranormal novels, no matter which paranormal creature we mean, I accept that a lot more than I would in a "realistic" novel. I guess there's more to it than that, the pack thing, which is also related to the alpha concept, the aggression underneath that isn't fueled by anything but more than plain ego just doesn't seem to "grab" me.. I like me a strong man, but as it seems I'm not a big fan of wolves because what's under the skin, what makes them tick, doesn't in any way appeal to me. To add to the show we have the "instant" concept. Instant-lust is not "wrong" it's the way that it is, but instant-UBER-lust feels unrealistic, especially when it's from a human's point of view and not a paranormal being/creature. Then we get to the instant bonding thing and sorta instant-love or maybe I should say instant-obsession which makes this book a total turn-off. I got up until 36% were a woman who was thoroughly terrified a minute ago of being forced to sell her body is so aroused she is positively considering having sex with someone who seems utterly insane and who paid 25 grand to be in her company. SAY WHAT? Yeah, that was the DNF note for me. Rebel is a shapeshifter, he is looking for a wolf aggressor who harmed a woman working in a strip club. First thing on the menu is checking that club seeing if he can find any clues and see if any of the other employees are in danger. Seeing Cherry for the first time is all he needs to KNOW she is his mate. But since there is an aggressor on the loose he has to balance his need and want for her with doing his job - looking for this guy/shifter. The writing was good, fast paced and the world revealing was done pretty well but I couldn't find myself invested in the story since too many things didn't make any sense to me. More Reviews HERE

I enjoyed this book but was disappointed by the ending. Yes, it's happy in its own way, but not what I was hoping for. I know the ending implies he keeps his promises, but we never actually see that. The ending is the same as everything their relationship had been up to this point: sex. I really would've liked to see the new, reformed Rebel a bit and not just hear the words. Again, the ending implies their happily ever after with him being the man he described that will love her and do so much more beyond sex, but all we see is sex in the end. I know she initiated it and that's fine, but it would've been nice if the book continued a little further to see more of their new relationship or even have an epilogue showing him treating her right and them being happy and, hopefully, how her brother fits into the whole ordeal. Barring the ending (which wasn't bad, but also wasn't what I was hoping for), I really enjoyed the book. I am a big fan of shifter novels of any kind, but there certainly are ones that are flat out bad out there. This is definitely not one of them. Ellis Leigh's writing style and voice are unique and well crafted. There is no cliffhanger and, as I said before, the ending is a HEA one. The characters are well developed and dynamic and, at times, incredibly entertaining (and sometimes frustrating as well - I'm talking about you Scab and even Rebel too). Leigh does a great job of creating a world/community of these wolf shifters and their current place in the world. The story pulled me in 100% and I am definitely interested in reading more of the Feral Breeds series!

Rebel comes to town looking for the cause of a woman in the hospital with mysterious claw makes. He's there to make sure if it was a shifter that the problem gets taken care of. What he wasn't expecting was to find her.Charlotte aka Cherry works as a waitress at a strip club because it's more money than she'd get with her hard earned degree, and with her taking care of her brother money is more improtant than Julian not getting what he needs. When she went to work that night though she wasn't expecting him.The second she walked into the room he knew she was his mate, the problem is though he's got a job to do first and then there's his club. Rebel is an alpha male, born in an age where men took care of women and women were happy about it. This is a more modern age though and it was interestingwatching Rebel learn how to deal with a woman who doesn't just want a sugar daddy.Charlotte is strong willed and determined to do what is right for her and her family even if it's a bit unorthodox. She's not one to be pushed around, and goes into situations looking at all the angles even when others might not want her to see everything as it is, she doesn't let that deter her.I enjoyed the paranormal aspect as it was introduced. That part was well written and didn't leave you wonder just want kind of abilities they had in this story. Their story is interesting as well although I do wish there was more to it, and how things ended with them. Overall a good start to a new series.

As many have said, Ellis has a way with words. The story is too short for those of us that got sucked in with first sentence. Ellis has painted a world with words that I love to read about. She's set a good foundation for a long series in a shifter world that I will definitely read.Rebel, a 200+ year old shifter, is den president of a MC of wolves, tasked with finding a rogue that needs taking down. The club's first stop is full of surprises. His "doesn't know about shifters" human mate is the biggest one.Cherry, a young CIF graduate is waitressing in a strip joint to support herself and young brother after a car accident takes the lives of their parents. Not her ideal job but it makes enough to help her brother who lost his site in the accident. She doesn't understand her response to the stranger that comes through the door, but that the least of her shocks for the night. The Feral Breed Motorcycle Club and Ellis Leigh are going to be in my Five for a while.

Not as good as I expected, butI normally download a sample before getting a book from an unheard of author, but this time I couldn't. I avoid first person books because I like character development and first person first really provide that. I like knowing how other characters think and feel. So when I discovered it was first person, I almost deleted the book. I didn't bc I had nothing else to ride me over and was going to a place without internet. To my surprise, it was a decent story. Would I advise others to read this book? No. It got me thru the two days I needed it to do, but given a choice I would've deleted it once realizing it is first person. 1 star for the price; 2nd star for being interesting enough when there wasn't another option.

This is the first shifter book I've ever read, and I must say, I WANT MORE! It was a quick, fun read. The sex scenes were so steamy, and the two main characters were wonderful. I loved Rebel and Cherry so very much. My favorite thing though? The mating pull. DAMN. I'm a sucker for undeniable attraction, and this hit the nail on the head. Other than that, the author is definitely creating a world here. There's background into the shifter community, traditions within such communities, and the wolf is so perfectly captured in the men of the story without it seeming silly. It's so well-balanced. This is most definitely worth the read and maybe a few re-reads. I can't wait for the next book!

This was a short, sexy werewolf novella . I really enjoy werewolf novels and this one was definitely HOT. And I thought it was an interesting story line too - Rebel happens to stumble upon his fated mate in a strip club while investigating a murder. Cherry (Charlotte) only waitresses at the strip club but gets forced to go into the basement to entertain the crowd down below. I thought the characters were very believable. I could feel their emotions, and couldn't stop reading at points. This is the great start to a series of MC/shifter novellas. Can't wait to read what happens next. I would definitely recommend to those that enjoy hot werewolf stories!*I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.*

Really enjoyable read. You've got your done-to-death shifter w/ a destined mate trope going, but with some small yet awesome twists. Among other things this is only the second "destined mate" book I've read that didn't have rapey overtones of the mate in question being given no choice. The book ends more on a happily-for-now than happily-ever-after, but the for-now is a solid foundation for a happy, healthy relationship.Add to that solid plot, interesting characters, conflict that isn't built on i-love-you-you-hate-me, and an interesting new approach to wolf shifter society, and I'm a happy reader.I wish it was longer, but that doesn't detract from a really good read.
