This was a quick book and a good book at that too. Lucy and bryce had been neighbours for the last few months and had both had a few run ins together. One night when he finds her books outside he steals them and when she goes to get them she gets all but one back and that's her journal but Bryce is using it too get what he wants. when a snow storm.hits and they are forced to spend time together they realise they have more of a connection but later Bryce little plan comes out. The characters in this book were good and had both had hard pasts but we're trying to get through it all. The only thing with this book is I wished it was a Little longer and didn't just stop there was more I wanted to know xx
This is a fairly quick read written from Lucy and Bryce's points of view. I appreciated getting both perspectives as I'm not sure I really liked Bryce for the majority of the book. The book's title fits him "perfectly." He's flawed and judgmental, but the author wrote him in just the right way to make me sympathetic and understanding. I read most of this book with a lump in my throat wanting to kick him in the gonads for some of the things he said to Lucy and the way he treated her (or his original intentions). Lucy is similarly damaged, but hers was much more obvious and hurt my heart. She's been used and treated horribly and is trying to make a fresh start. She's a loner and I identified with that - quality over quantity. Bryce is opposite of her on the outside, but so similar on the inside with his struggles.Simply put - neither are perfect, just human.[When I started this book, I didn't realize there was a 2nd book in the series continuing their story. This one can easily be read as a standalone with a HEA for now (don't worry - the next one keeps them HEA)].
Short quick to read.
