ConfusingI found this book to be fragmented and confusing. Too much of the writing seemed to go on and on about the main character's thoughts and it left the reader with big gaps of ??? A good mystery catches me and pulls me in within the first couple paragraph as paragraphs and then I can't put the book down until I've read the last page. This book didn't do that.

I've been eagerly devouring anything written by T.J. Brearton in the last few months, and for me this book did not disappoint. I love that the author really knows his way around Westchester County, where a lot of book takes place. It really adds a sense of realism, where I can actually picture the locations in the various parts of the book. Too often you will read a book where you can tell that author did little to no research about the places their book visits, and it really takes away from the story. Mr Brearton does a fine job of setting the scene, making me wonder what diners the characters are actually in, or making me want to go on a ride to see if I can figure out other places in the book. The final book in this series is available on Kindle Unlimited, and I'm tempted to start my free subscription to it just so I can read more. But I think I will fork over a few bucks and actually buy the e-book instead as a thanks for the number of good books I've had the pleasure to read from the author.

A most excellent 5 star read, again! wow, that is some thrilling, pulse pounding turn the page as fast as you can stuff.... Conspiracy theories, bad guys, good guys, who knows what kind of guys. "Change of clothes, a goddamn buzz cut, and she would go and find him. But first, she slept" Really? So glad she can sleep! Good thing I have book 3 of this trilogy ready to go.

Suspense and Intrigue. I love the way this story comes together. Brendan, always seems to be one step away from danger. Yet, even in those dangerous situations, he manages to assemble clues. Whilst being miles away from from putting it together, he manages to keep on toiling away trying to solve this case. It is only the second part of the trilogy, so we know we have a bit to go, before we work it all out, but the story is intriguing enough, to get us sucked in enough, to want to read the final installment.

A conspiracy book, nothing moreI thought I was reading a book of suspense and drama but I was wrong. Some action with a half plot, sure, but the huge majority of this novel is filled with wild and outrageous conspiracies from every man with owner a million dollars and every industrial company. Any I believe in, absolutely, but this story went extremely overboard into the land of tooth fairies and goblins. If you want a book of everybody is involved in some continental conspiracy, then this is for you, otherwise, forget about it.

Sensational second in a trilogySo the first was intense, and this was double the intensity, with some heart palpitations all in one! Explosive writing!!

I enjoyed the first book in the series so much, I was glad to see that this will be a trilogy! This second book picks up where the last left off, and it's packed full of action. Really enjoyable. I did get a little lost with some of the political rhetoric in the story, and sometimes it felt like the characters were espousing the author's views on things maybe? But I do like the overall plot of the story, and the political machinations work for what's going on. I look forward to the third book! You better not do a George RR Martin to is with that one, Mr Brearton!

I bought or received this book through It took me a while to get to it. Once I started it, I had a hard time putting it down. Wish I had read No. 1 in the trilogy first. I'll read it now, and then will read No. 3. Lots of interesting twists, and the basis of the story really ought to make every reading consider the Black Ops of our government and of every government.

I was hoping I'd like this book...I did not.As another reviewer commented, this book was too confusing and fragmented. It left far more questions than answers. Took too long to get to any real "thrilling/suspenseful" parts, and just was a pretty big mess, in my opinion. I won't bother reading more. Not worth it to me.

I enjoyed the 2nd book in the trilogy as much as the first. I love the writing style of this author. The story is action packed and dramatic. Kept me on the edge of my seat. Twists and turns abound. Cannot wait for the 3rd in the trilogy.

Close to the worst book I've ever read.Survivors? There were no survivors in this book. I would not recommend it to anyone. It may be correct about what our world has turned in to. If so, we are all lost and there are no survivors.

Fantastic book will read the three of themCharacters are real enough in. This story and it's like big brother all over again . The real reason this story rings true is the utter corruption of government that no one really can see..

I really enjoyed this story, unfortunately, you have to read book 3 to find out how it all ends. Brearton is a born story teller. His characters are believable and human. Lots of suspense with a rapid-fire pace that makes it hard to put down. Looking forward to the conclusion.

I found the first book and the second book chilling..... I cannot wait until the third comes have here good guys and bad guys, corporate greed, money and power and of course murder.. It's a twisty plot I'm enjoying very much.

    T. J. Brearton continues detective Brendan Healy's investigation from his earlier work "Habit" into this intense thriller..."Survivors". Very engaging plot that Brearton uses to weave together characters of very diverse backgrounds. A goodread for sure.

Pretty good - needs some editing for grammar and smooth transitions - abrupt and unsatisfying ending leading to a sequel.

Not badGood storyline, great characters, intriguing. Leaves you hanging at the end. No closure, left open. To me to open. Could have ended just a little better.
