3 Cupcake stars Alyssa is a girl who moves into the South, with her mother. She's used teo moving around, since her mother can't stay in the same place after every break up. That's the reason that Alyssa doesn't open herself in friendships and relationships with guys. But the uptight girl from California is going to change her mind when she will meet John. Or at least, he's going to try changing her mind about it.After a series of devastating events, with grief and pain surrounding them , one mistake comes upon another and distance will be created between them. Are they ever going to make things better, especially after life having other plans for them, making them change their life's direction in the meanwhile? This was one of the books that really troubled me and challenged my limits. I have to admit that at some point I was so frustrated that I wanted to stop reading and give up on the story. However, I pushed myself and finished it, because I'm not one of the people who will DNF their books. It's not that this book is worthy of a low rating or a bad review, but I have to be honest with myself and with everyone else. This is a personal review, so it doesn't mean that this won't work for someone else, because I had these issues with this book. I'm sure many will love this story and the characters since it's quite powerfuland sends messages that are not to be passed lightly."Hold on to me and don't let go. Let me be your anchor. Let me in, Alyssa..." My issues are related to the actions of the hero and the heroine and how I couldn't support them together, because I wasn't a fan of either person's actions. During the biggest part of the book , the hero was an ass, if you're asking me. The way he was talking to her, reacting to several serious incidents, were a big fat no from me. I couldn't believe that he would speak to her like that, when he was supposed to have feelings for her. (view spoiler)[ Maybe he had too much to deal with at that moment, f.e: grief, but this doesn't excuse his actions, like calling her names and leaving town without telling her and then expecting for her to be single and ready for him, then calling her names again. NO!(hide spoiler)] I forgave him after the half part of the book, when I started getting mad at the heroine, since it was her turn to be bitchy. Yes, payback is a bitch and I don't like doormats, but I think she was also unfair. I did felt sorry for her for a big portion of the book, so my point was that I had issues with both of them in different parts to the point I was frustrated. (view spoiler)[ Also, Ben was a character that I would probably like and ship with her, since I like 'bad boys', but when the rumors appeared to be true and he seemed like an abusive prick, it drove me nuts. Since at first he didn't appear to be like that, I hoped that the author would show to us that Ben wasn't what everyone had been talking about. And after John treating Alyssa like that, gosh I wanted to see them together. But nope. He had to be the bad guy here and I was devastated by that. It was clear that this happened in favor of John, but still I was disappointed.(hide spoiler)]Also, I never expected that this story would be dramatic. And oh boy, it was way over-dramatic, for someone expecting to read a simple romance. I felt depressed throughout the book, since one incident would come on top of the other. When you thought that it was over and finally for something good, nope, you would have to face another dramatic aspect. I couldn't breathe. It was really heartbreaking and touching. I was disappointed though by a twist I didn't see coming, because I thought: "Nah, the author will show some mercy on them. It can't be possible. There will be light in the end of the tunnel." But no, once again I was heartbroken. (view spoiler)[ Yes, I'm talking about the results of the test.(hide spoiler)] But I have to admit that the last parts of the book were much better than the beggining, they were really cute and that's how it became better for me as well.Nonetheless, just because I got conflicted by this book, it doesn't mean others won't enjoy it more than I did. Maybe I wasn't prepared for such an intense read. Maybe it just didn't work for me. So, don't let my review stop you. You may end up loving it. ARC provided by an author in exchange for an honest reviewWhen you find someone whom you are completely in love with, the only thing that you can do ishold on to them. So what happens when the person you want to hold onto is afraid to love again? Do you let them go? Or do you remind them that nothing from their past or mistakes can tear you away from holding onto that little piece of hope and love you know exists in their heart?Hold On To Me by Lucia Franco is a story that is composed of so many elements. It is a story of love, loss, letting go, healing, hope, understanding and learning to trust and love again. But the most important underlying theme in this story is the message of learning to let love in and accepting that you are worthy to be loved. In this case, it is about a love that is so deep, passionate, raw, palpable, and tangible. A kind of love that will leave you raw, emotional, and vulnerable to the core. A love that is worth holding onto and fighting for. Alyssa Winters is the new girl, who recently moved to Georgia with her mother. She is the California beauty that caught the eye of a sweet-talking Southern boy, John Jackson. Throughout her life, Alyssa knew what it was liked to be abandoned and not wanted since she didn't grew up in a loving household. But that all that changes when she meets and befriend Johnny. Johnny is what everything Alyssa wanted. His simple touch and smile evoked such a burning passion inside her. Johnny showed her what it means to truly LOVE. He showed her the possibility of forever. But what happens when a tragic event rocks Johnny and Alyssa, will they be able to salvage their relationship? Or will he push Alyssa away? Or will she be the one pushing away after one reckless night? Is love enough to heal the broken hearts? Are there enough words to repair a heart that is tired and broken? When hearts are getting torn from mistakes, can you trust the person to catch you when you fall? The simply act of saying you love me...is that enough? For Alyssa and Johnny, their story was a true emotional journey that will pull all the heartstrings. It is a journey of letting go and accepting the NOW. Accepting that the heart wants what it wants. And for Johnny, he wants Alyssa. For him, she has been the one since the first time he laid eyes on her. She was made for him and he was made for her. No matter of what the past may hold, he knows his future is with Alyssa. The chemistry between Johnny and Alyssa can only be described as RAW. It is the kind of relationship that can cut you to the core and tug all heartstrings. It is the kind of love that can't be extinguished. The flames may flicker but nothing can stop the burning passion and love they have for one another. Hold On To Me is the kind of slow burn romance that will break your heart to pieces but slowly Ms. Franco will glue all the pieces back together. Johnny was the heart and soul of this book. I absolutely loved him and his conviction of never giving up and losing hope. He was the driving force for me holding onto the belief that this is the kind of LOVE every romance aficionado craves, wants, needs and desires for. It is a love built on truth and conviction. A love that is unwavering. A love worth holding onto. So if you are looking for a book where you are immersed with FEELINGS then I highly recommend you to read this book. Ms. Franco truly takes you on a journey of one woman's struggle with loss, hurt, and doubts and a man who is willing to fill her heart with nothing but true love and devotion. So if you are looking for a book where you are reminded that the best thing to hold onto in life is each other then go read Hold On To Me by Lucia Franco. Ms. Franco will give you a reason why love is worth holding onto. Review can also be found on Found Chicks Flipping Pages:http://fourchicksflippingpages.weebly...Lucia Franco

3Mud happens stars! This book left me so confused. Did I enjoy it? Did I hate it? Would I recommend it?I finished reading it many days ago, and I still can't wrap my head around it. But let's go for stages.. Alyssa just moved to Georgia. She's a city girl, Georgia is not exactly the place where she expected to live. She has moved a lot with her mom and because of this, she has never had close friends. But soon after her arrival, she meets John and his friends and they all easily become friends.. But Alyssa and John soon aknowledges that they are more than just friends.. Will Alyssa be able to trust him? Will she open up her heart? The plot : when I read the blurb of this book, I knew I had to read it. It sounded like an emotional one and with that pretty cover, how could I miss out on it?However, I wish this story would have taken another turn of events. Some situations felt too forced to me and it felt like too many events were thrown in this story. In my opinion, the story could have been developed without them (for me, of course). There were so many heartbreaking events in this book. Sometimes it was so hard for me to keep reading because my heart couldn't take it.. The characters : Well..I have mixed feelings about the protagonists in the story. I couldn't understand the majority of John's actions and he acted like a jerk far too many times, but I liked him in the last part of the book.I didn't like Alyssa at the beginning, she seemed kind of snob..But at some point I felt so bad for her because of everything she was going through, she really had so much on her shoulders. I could understand her decisions and fears and I was constantly hoping for things to get better for her. But in the end, she started to act annoying again..I couldn't understand Ben's presence in this book and I wish things with him would have been developed another way. I honestly didn't see the story go there..The side of the story regarding him felt forced to me.There are two other characters in this book that I loved and that made me both cry and smile.. but I don't want to give away anything and spoil things for you. The ending : this book really got so much better (for me) in the last part and I was really happy with how things ended. I'm glad that I kept reading, because even though some parts bummed me, I realized thatthe characters actually grew on me. This book got SO MANY positive reviews so please, give it a chance and don't mind my review. Perhaps you'll be able to see this story from another light and you'll love it! After getting a peek at this book in its early stages of writing, I had a really hard time making it work for me. I told the author straight up what my problems were and that it just wasn't my cup of tea. Lucia Franco has always been most accommodating and accepting of my opinions and suggestions, and I admire the openness in which she listens and responds. And I'm happy and thankful to get a second chance to say that I've now read the final cut and there's a big difference in my mindset. The changes are amazing and I'm more than happy to say that this one will charm, engage, move, and fulfill all those "feels" that we romance addicts crave.Southern charm will engage readers from the moment Johnny steps onto the page. I'm still a bit standoffish where Alyssa is concerned. I don't detest the girl like I did in the beginning, but she'll never qualify for my list of BFFs. I can understand where she comes from and where she wants to go, but the path and the attitude she chooses doesn't convince me. Johnny is seriously too generous and kind -- he's had some powerful stumbling blocks, yet the outpouring of his love for this girl is remarkable and selfless. You can't help but like the guy and cheer him on -- even if I think he could have done better for himself! (Sorry Lucia!) Nothing ever really makes total sense when the heart is engaged in an all-out war with romance. To sum it all up, I am glad to have had this second chance. Love and commitment walk hand in hand -- Johnny proved it.

“No one is ever really prepared for love, but it secretly cultivates around you and pulls you in when you least expect it and latches on. It could be something as simple as a conversation or a thoughtful act that begins the growth. The music is planting seeds the way love begins to blossom, taking root inside and growing strong each day. Eventually it becomes a part of you and you never want it to go away.”Wow! What an incredible, incredible ride! Hold On to Me is not an easy read. The characters aren’t perfect. They’re broken. This is not your straight forward second chance romance. This is a book about true love, making mistakes and fighting for what you want.“Hold on to me and don’t let go. Let me be your anchor.”Hold On to Me follows the story of Alyssa and John. From the moment I met the two of them, I was hooked. Alyssa with her sassy mouth and stubborn attitude. I just knew right away that John had met his match. Alyssa was going to give him the challenge of his life. And John wasn’t the type to really take no for answer. He was drawn to Alyssa and just wanted to know more about her. What made her tick? Why she was the way that she was. Despite Alyssa’s reluctance to form any type of friendship, the two of them grow close. They start to depend on one another. They form a bond that neither one of them was prepared for. Until one night. One reckless night that has the power to change everything. John is hit with a loss that he doesn’t know how to handle. This loss will cause him to loose his way. And this loss might just cause him to loose everything that he cares about. When he finally gets his head back on track, will damage he caused be too deep to repair? Will he be able to get back the one person that he can’t live without?Alyssa. My heart broke for this girl. Her father was absent in her life. She was always on the move, thanks to her mom. Never wanting to really make friends or have relationships. And when she needed her mother the most, her mother kicked out and basically cut her out of her life. She was put in a terrible situation and did the best she could do with the cards that life had handed her.John. He did not deal with his loss in the best way. Instead of leaning on Alyssa, he drank and pushed her away. He said some things that hurt and were not easy to forgive. It took a near death experience to cause John to open his eyes. He finally realized just how precious life was and that he needed fix things before it was too late.Alyssa and John both frustrated me to no end. They messed up, made mistakes, and their actions made them hurt each other badly. Alyssa was so stubborn and refused to accept the love and truth that John was giving her. As much as it frustrated me, I understood their actions. I couldn’t help but root for the two of them to find their way. John had to work so hard to prove himself to Alyssa and fix all the past hurt.Hold On to Me took me on one heck of a journey. My emotions were all over the place. I felt emotionally drained (in a good way) when I finished this book. It made me laugh, it frustrated me, brought tears to my eyes and made me swoon. I loved the angst and the push and pull, the fight, the love. In the end it made me see that when life hands you a second chance, you grab it and hold on tight. Life is way to short to sweat the small stuff. That when you love someone, and I mean really love someone, it’s worth the fight and effort.*I was provided an ARC copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review*

So, yesterday I put everything away so I could read this book. When I finished it last night it left me teary-eyed. The epilogue...it was perfectly, emotionally, reflective. It needed to be there and it was the perfect ending.John...I met him in Lucia's first book YOU'LL THINK OF ME, but I didn't know much about him other than he was Luke's brother. When we were reintroduced to John in this book, I liked him instantly. Then he started to grow on me and little by little I was starting to fall for him...just like Alyssa. Bit by bit.A tragic event happens and everything changes for everybody. It was heartbreaking. For pages my heart was in my throat and I felt every bit as sad as John, Alyssa...everyone. I shared their grief. From there, John and Alyssa are on new ground and they don't always do the right things. If these characters had been older, it would have irritated me, but because these characters were young (college age) then it was easy to understand how difficult it is to maneuver around grief when you have no experience with it. Truth... everyone makes bad decisions at least once in their life. We're human. We grow and learn from our mistakes, and if we're lucky, become a better person for having made them. This is true for John and Alyssa. The unfolding of their story is frustrating at times but I understood where each of them was coming from, so I held on, knowing that somewhere along the way, changes were coming. And it did, and it was beautiful. "He was going to make her fall in love with him. The soul searing kind of love where there's no turning back. The kind of love that is felt deep inside the bone. Forever."I loved John. Once he decided that he needed Alyssa nothing was gonna change his mind. He was all in. As for Alyssa...she was a tough nut to crack. She was stubborn, but she had good reason to be. I didn't fault her for trying to build a protective shield. Going through so much at a young age, I knew that going forward, she would be a force. Good thing John was a marine and could handle the grenades she would throw. John was patient when he needed to be and tough when he needed to be. He was everything Alyssa needed. Getting her to see that, though, would take time. But that was part of the journey and the growth that needed to take place. It was a beautiful heartfelt read, and I'm missing them a little bit today. ;) But that's how you know it was a great story.

When I first began reading this book, I thought that it had all of the makings to be a sweet romance that would just bring a smile to my face. Boy, was I wrong! Oh, there were definitely some sweet, melt your heart moments, but it had so much more than that.Hold On to Me put me on an emotional carousel – crying, swooning, laughing, and wanting to yell and shake some sense into the main characters. John is an all-round good southern boy. He was raised by a loving family and has spent his time being surrounded by friends who are more like brothers to him. When this easy going, fun loving guy meets the new girl in town, he is more than a little bit interested.Alyssa is not a country girl. She’s all city. She is feisty, snarky, and hates…dirt. When she meets John and his friends for the first time, they are out on their four wheelers getting more than a little bit muddy. Needless to say, this city girl was not the least bit interested in this type of activity, but she was a little bit intrigued by one of the riders. What starts out as a new found friendship, soon becomes an attraction that builds between John and Alyssa until they finally succumb to their desires. Alyssa doesn’t want a relationship. She doesn’t usually have many friends. She has come to enjoy her friendship with John and doesn’t want to ruin it by starting anything deeper with him. Being with Alyssa has only increased John’s desire for her. He wants to have more than a friendship with her, but Alyssa pushes him away any chance that she gets. Knowing Alyssa’s background, I can understand why she likes to distance herself from people, why she likes to keep everyone at arms-length. This doesn’t mean that it didn’t annoy the bejesus out of me at times. This created a tug of war of emotions between John and Alyssa for much of the story. It kept me flipping the pages just to see how long it would take her to realize what she had right in front of her. When a tragedy takes place, John’s life is shattered. He isn’t sure how he is going to hold himself together. This is a time where he needs the comfort that only Alyssa can afford him, but John is struggling. I won’t get into the details of what happens in the book, but it is utterly heartbreaking – I could feel their pain as I was reading.John is the type of character that you can’t help but fall for. He doesn’t always do the right thing, but the one thing that you never doubt is his love and devotion for Alyssa. He is a patient, patient man who despite being pushed away time and time again, still persists and doesn’t give up on the girl who owns his heart. Did I mention that John is patient?Despite all of the moments that had me pulling my hair and threatening to fling my Kindle across the room like a Frisbee, Hold On to Me gave me all of the intense, heart pounding drama that I enjoy in a book.Disclaimer: No Kindles were actually harmed during the reading of this novel. ;)* I was given a copy of the book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Received an ARC! Lucia Franco takes you on a ride like no other with this book. She had me laughing, loving, getting frustrated and crying. John is one hell of a character. My best description would have to be the #countryboy of the south where #mudhappens. Alyssa is a sassy west coast girls and a hard nut to crack. There is so much chemistry between these two that you can feel it jumping off the pages. What happens when you lose someone dear to you? Do you find yourself spiraling out of control then try to fight your way back? Accidents happen and you do what you can to survive. Pain and grief are real! John and Alyssa knew that they needed each other. They both make the best decisions possible. Can Alyssa trust again? Can John continue to be supportive and patient? This book has twist and turns to it that you feel the need to read faster to see what happens. I continually found myself being hopeful and cheering for these characters. Another fabulous read by Lucia Franco! Highly recommend the story of #westcoastgirl meets #countryboy where #mudhappens. Loved this story!!!!

When Lucia Franco asked me to read Hold on to Me, I was stoked. I absolutely loved her first novel You’ll Think of Me, so I dropped everything to read. I read this book in one sitting. When I was done I had so many emotions that I didn’t even know what to do with myself. I was pissed, I was hurting for John and I was frustrated. I decided that I was going to give myself a day to absorb what I had just read. The next day, I was still feeling all of these things and I just didn’t know how to tell Lucia! I know she was waiting to see if I liked it, the problem I had was did I like it?This is a story that a reader really needs to step outside of themselves to truly understand and appreciate. I am now in my 30’s so all the choices and mistakes I made in my early 20’s, I have learned from. I have learned to make different choices, I have learned from my mistakes, I have my regrets and my life lessons. Alyssa does not have these things yet, she is still in the beginning of her life learning. She isn’t born to know the consequences of choices and John is in the same boat. Neither of these characters realize the impact they have on the other but they soon learn what their choices do to the other.Alyssa is a girl just trying to make in the world. She has a mother who could care less if she is breathing. Moving to Georgia was not her first choice but given her lack of being able to support herself, she doesn’t have much choice. In a woe is me moment, she meets John. A charismatic southern boy full of charm and the one thing she needs to stay away from. Alyssa does everything in her power to resist him, but her resistance is what pulls John to her. They form a friendship that leads to the added status of “with benefits”. While everything seems to be going right in Alyssa’s life, tragedy strikes, sending everything in to a tail spin.Alyssa is the girl that has built walls around herself , she hasn’t had the easiest life and letting John in was not a small feat. She tries everything in her power to be the friend that is there for John to help him fight through his grief but the anger and helplessness that John feels is projected at Alyssa. One night of bad judgement and a need to release all of his anger starts the fall of events that happen. This is the moment that I lost sight of while reading this book. Alyssa isn’t a woman completely secure with herself, when John says everything she feels about herself she can’t rationalize that he is just speaking out of pain. The events and choices that happen after this moment between John and Alyssa are heart breaking. Because of a bad decision John has to fight to change everything. After I really analyzed everything that I read in this story, I fell absolutely in love with Hold on to Me. Lucia Franco’s writing is brilliant. I am still completely enamored by how well Lucia captured these two characters, their choices, their consequences and just how much one wrong decision can create a battle that could last for years. I loved that John fought so hard to bring Alyssa back. I cannot wait for the world to read this story, to see what I saw and feel what I felt, it takes a talented author to write a story this complex.Bravo Lucia! You rocked this and I cannot wait to see where you take me next.

4/4.5 Cupcake StarsHold On To Me is a story that will stay with me for a long time. It was funny, heartbreaking, and REAL. Some people might think too much is happening but relationships are not easy. Everything John and Alyssa went through are what happens in the real world. It's soul crushing and it hurts, God does it hurt to read about. Lucia Franco nailed it! <3Alyssa Winters is a sassy, smart mouthed girl and that kind of attitude doesn't go by unnoticed by the southern charmer, John Jackson. Holy hell that man is PERFECT. Every word out of his mouth had me laughing, crying, and hoping for the best!!!!This is a friends with benefits (but so much more if the heroine could see it) kind of romance. Hold On To Me isn't a sweet romance! There will be darker/sadder moments. I HIGHLY recommend this is you're into that. :)Lucia, thank you so much for this heartfelt story!!! <3 <3

I won an ARC Of this book and somehow completely forgot about it. Sadly, I waited so long to read it only to find the contents where so damn beautiful. It was full of long summer nights, love, smiles, loss, tragedy, pain, sadness, grief, and, of course, some pretty nice sex. I cried a lot while reading this story, but I smiled a lot too. It was just so beautiful. Everyone that knows me, knows how much I love me some southern boys. John Jackson did it for me. We need more Johnny's in the world. I loved this story wholeheartedly.

Rating: 4.5 Stars Because with them, it always started with a kiss. These are two are pretty much frustrating and will test your patience, and yet you will admire them for what they have been through, and how they manage to survive what life threw at them at their young age.Alyssa was the new girl in town, and Johnny was a sweet-talking country boy who likes to play in mud. They were perfect for each other. The chemistry was there, the attraction was palpable. The girl just needed to put a label on it, since she was getting more and more confused.Just when everything was going perfectly, tragedy happened that destroyed their relationship. He was grieving, he was pushing her away, and she was hurting. They didn’t realize that their choices and their action could dampen their new budding relationship until it was already too late.I couldn’t blame Alyssa, really. She made a bad choice, but heck they were both in pain. It was a bad move, but he somewhat pushed her to it. He was acting as if she doesn’t exist anymore, as if she meant nothing to him and it stings. When he came back, he was surprised to find the love of his life was different from what he imagined her to be. He tries to win her back by wooing and promising – but the trust has been broken. He needed to do more than groveling to bring himself back into her good graces.I wanted to welcome him back, after all, he was all sweet and attentive. But coming from Alyssa’s side, I knew it was hard for her to look through everything that has happened to her. The trust has been broken, and she was not the girl he left behind. A lot of things had happened already. Will they get their second chance?Lucia Franco pushed it. She bravely wrote this book and awed me. Topics that are considered taboo, but are happening in closed doors. It creep me out because it’s raw, it’s real and it’s heartbreaking. It’s happening around us – we might have been blind at some point and nonchalant at the next but it’s true. She pointed it out, made her readers see, and gave her readers something to ponder on.We always have choices. Every one of us. Life may throw us some sh**, and we may left with a few sh**ty choices, but we are still left with options, and it will always be up to us to choose among it. Johnny and Alyssa made some bad choices and got the both of them heartbroken, and yet it was their choices that brought them back together. Exasperating, yet admirable young couple – can’t help but just love ‘em both in the end. 5 Southern Stars!!!! I was gifted a copy by the author for a honest review. When I signed up to get this book to review, I didn't know of the author at the time but the synopsis of this book sounded very good to me. This book affected me in so many ways! I wanted to jump into this book and live here, I wanted to strangle & scream at the characters, I felt their pain. I love stories that have my emotions all over the place and if you do as well….#Go1ClickThis is a story of Alyssa Winters, a city girl who is thrusted into the slow life of country living with her mom. Alyssa has been raised by her mother , Lauren single handedly. Alyssa has always sensed her mother's regret of having her from the comments she makes. She feels like an obligation to her mother. She never wants to be that to someone. She wants to feel loved. "So this was her new life-a remote bumpkin town in the Deep South, forced to leave the beautiful Pacific Coast because her mother had found love, then lost it. Again, for the hundredth time now" 8 moves total the she could remember. And now she has to start a new college for her second semester, And for this reason, she kept people at arm's length so they didn't get attached. It was easier this way. Alyssa meets Jace McConnell & John Jackson. They come barreling up the road in a cloud of dust on 4 wheelers covered in mud!!! In a very short time, Alyssa is given a dose of some Southern Charm. Once John spoke, Alyssa's body reacted. I mean who doesn't when a gorgeous guy has that southern drawl. She will need to be careful with John.A friendship blossoms between Alyssa & John, both wanting more. John stating this fact & Alyssa trying to have a "Friends with benefits" relationship. She can't afford to let anyone close. Then enters Ben,"That's Ben," John said, breaking her stare. "Who?" "The one you're staring at," he said, glaring at Ben with disgust. "I wouldn't suggest making friends with him." "I've actually already met him. We have a class together.""He's bad news….heard some stories about how he likes to get rough-and not just with guys either." Moving forward….We learn of a tragic accident. This will break the pack of friends up. There will be misunderstandings, hateful remarks that can't be taken back, betrayal, abuse, and one heck of a surprise for all! I can't say more because I hate giving spoilers but I hope this will entice people to read this book. Even though this is the second book, you will not be confused one bit . I thoroughly enjoy Lucia's writing and her gift of storytelling is superb!!!!!! I am now a fan/stalker for life!!!!!!!

✰✰✰✰✰ 4.5 JOHNNY STARS ✰✰✰✰✰If you're a fan of romance that is heart-wrenching at times, yet a hopeful second chance love story, then I highly recommend you read, HOLD ON TO ME.Alyssa has been abandoned by her family and is very hesitant when it comes to having a serious relationship. Knowing that they will all end up leaving her, she has to put up a wall. To never let her guard down. Being left behind turned her into this very confused person and very indecisive. She knows what she wants deep down, but yet she doesn't. She hates putting herself in a situation where she would depend on someone. All she wants is to be able to stand on her own two feet. As for John, his life is the total opposite when it comes to his family. They are loving and supports him with any decisions he makes. They are always by his side, every step of the way. He grew up with his best friends and did everything with them. When something tragic happens, he pushes away the people who truly matters to him. All she wants is to find a friend, nothing more. Or so she thought. She knows that John wants more than just that. When Alyssa and John meets, sparks fly. But he's willing to take anything he can get, even if it kills him. That's how much he cares for her. Just being around her might subside the yearning that's eating him inside. Alyssa can deny all she wants, but how long until she ends up eating her own words? If she can put aside her insecurities, she may discover that not everyone is out to abandon her. If she doesn't act fast she might end up with a broken heart and alone. I am looking forward to more of Lucia's work. I've grown attached to her and I can't seem to let go. Thank you again! ❤REVIEW IS ALSO ON FOUR CHICKS FLIPPING PAGEShttp://fourchicksflippingpages.weebly...

My 4 star review of Hold On to MeI am so glad to have found Lucia through Beth Ehemann, I feel lucky to have found an author I genuinely like and really like their work. That said you need to read You’ll Think of Me- because its awesome. Then read Hold on to Me, you’ll thank me for it. This book was an easy one to read, even though there was so much conflict. It has one of my favorite themes- learning that you are worthy of love. The love in this story is deep and passionate- and I absolutely fell in love with Alyssa and John.Alyssa Winters is the new girl, who moved to Georgia with her mother. She doesn’t have much choice in the matter- and didn’t want to be there, but there she was. She is beautiful and in a moment- she meets John Jackson."He was going to make her fall in love with him. The soul searing kind of love where there's no turning back. The kind of love that is felt deep inside the bone. Forever."Alyssa knows what it’s like to feel unwanted; her household was anything but the loving kind when she grew up. It seems like that all changes when she meets John, he makes her feel like she is wanted, like she is enough. Johnny shows her what it’s like to love. But then something tragic happens to Johnny and Alyssa- and all the questions emerge. What does this mean for their relationship? Can they recover what they had? Who will be the one to push away? Is the love they have enough? “Alyssa was his rock tonight. His girl. She stood strong while he was drowning in bone aching grief. He’d been halfway to hell but she pulled him back.” Alyssa and Johnny have a really emotional journey on their hands. I loved the emotion, it was true- and it was gritty. The writing was brilliant. I love the characters and the choices the made. I love that John fought for Alyssa- that’s how it should be."Hold on to me and don't let go. Let me be your anchor. Let me in, Alyssa..." I can’t wait for everyone to read this story- to experience it. To fall in love with it, and the writing as I have. Thank you Lucia for never disappointing!

I enjoyed this story and sort of fell in love with John right off the bat but at some point this began to feel like it was two different stories. I'm still having trouble wrapping my mind around it. I really liked the Johnny and Alyssa of the first half of the book but when tragedy struck everything changed for them. The Johnny and Alyssa of the second half sort of left me with whiplash. Somehow everything that went wrong was put on Alyssa, even though I'd have to say that I thought things went wrong when Johnny made some dumb decisions and remarks. Though the things that Alyssa did going into the second half only made the situation exponentially worse. I didn't like the direction that the book took after that.I realize that this stumbling block was the point of the story and might have been necessary for the characters growth but it just didn't sit well with me. I hate that Alyssa had to go through what she did and that her and John were forever changed because of it.I think that this story will go over very well with readers and the writing was good, but it just didn't hit the mark for me at this time.*I received an ARC from the author/publisher in exchange for an honest review

This book is SO good! Alyssa has a hard life. Her mother moves her from town to town, city to city, even out of the country when he latest flame dies out. This causes Alyssa to not put down any roots or start any type of relationships or friendships. It all changes when they move to a small town in the Dirty South. There she meets three boys that quickly become the only real friendships she's had. Of course, there is one that's making her hot and bothered, John. As their friendship turns into more they start a story that will torment you, make you want to cry, and at times give you false hopes.I love John's character. He's a masculine man who's finally finding that he has a softer side. His personality and sense of self grows unbelievably. Alyssa on the other hand drives me crazy half the time. She's the type of person who uses things for a crutch. I wanted to reach into the book and smack some sense into her. The other characters bring life to the story and add more to the main characters. This book will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions. You won't want to put the book down until it's finished and when it is done, you'll wish there were more. I'm hoping there is a book for Ford in the making.

    * I received an ebook in exchange for an honest review. *I must say that the author took so many emotions and threw them all into this book. The reader will laugh, cry, yell, scream, shake their head in disbelief and spend time wondering to themselves why?!?! The author takes the reader on a roller coaster ride of emotions and doesn't let them have a second to recover from anything that she throws at them. The characters are complex, she does a great job with relaying the feelings between Alyssa, her mom and John. She also makes the reader feel for her and even after some bad choices are made, the reader is still rooting for her. The same thing happens with John. How can the reader not want to root for him when he goes through the worst experiences of his life? The author really shows the reader what true love is and how a California girl and a Southern mud loving boy can make things work no matter how hard, unlikely or unrealistic it may seem. This book leaves the reader with a good feeling once you have finished reading it and can process everything that has taken place. I look forward to the next book by author Lucia Franco.

I totally loved the ending of the book, and all the heartache and mountains that Alyssa and John had to go through in order to get their happily ever after. With that said Alyssa thoroughly got on my nerves throughout the entire book making me what to just stop reading it. I could empathize with her for the majority of the book because of her abandonment issues, low self-esteem coupled with the fact that she never really felt loved or wanted by her parents, but at some point especially I needed her to realize that John truly loved her and to stop pushing him away. Luckily John was just as stubborn and would push back / fight for her love.

This is only a preliminary review. I finished my arc over a week ago. I'm still struggling for words. This book took me on a journey I haven't been on in quite a while. I honestly can't remember a time that a male lead affected me this way. I'm in the minority here, but as hot sweet and sexy as Johnny is, I read this from a mom perspective...John became my boy and I felt all of his pain. This amazing author made me feel.....hurt for a good boy, hurt for a neglected girl, aggitation, disappointment, happiness, tears....God, the tears...but in the end she brought it all back around. Read. This. Book. You'll be missing out if you don't. #5mudslingingstars

This book had fun, heartache, southern boys! In this book, we meet Luke's younger brother John. John is hot, he's carefree, & has a big heart. Alyssa is gorgeous, west coast city girl, & hates getting dirty. When these two meet, the passion & chemistry is evident! I really enjoyed this book! I had a good book cry. I give this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.I highly recommend this book!!Nichole From Fictional Rendezvous Book Blog

Wow, in the first 10 chapter's I laughed so hard I cried, then I cried so hard I couldn't see. I fell in love and I hated so strongly I was disgusted. I was brought to tears in many different part of this story and I loved it. They were not alwa sad tears.Lucia Franco did a,wonderful job on bring underage drinking, sex, and death of a young adult to light and at showing how one mistake it all it takes to ruin your life forever.Definitely a must read.

She did it again! She has written a 10 star book. I couldn't put this book down. I basically read it in one day. This story is about best friends finding love even through very hard times. She was abused, scared of loving again. He never gave up on her. Until the day she finally realized what he means to her. Yep... Mud happens!!! I would say more but I am not the one who gives the story away. I will say this is a must read!!!
