Hunting Halos Reviews
It didn't take me long to read this book. I'd had it preordered for my Kindle and had been waiting and waiting to start it. Getting it done in three days with my schedule is a decent feat. Hunting Halos is probably my favorite book of the series. Each book as gotten "older", I think. Not just with the characters growing in age, but also with the visuals inside the books. Troy has gone from a young teenagers in the first book, who could hardly handle a single demon, to a full-out angel warrior. But the author has developed that growth in a believable (for fantasy fiction) way. Plus, as I've said before with the previous books, some of the sub-characters are my favorites. Grandma Denise continues to sneak her way inch by inch into my heart. She started off with that cold, mischievous personality and retains that but in a fun and lovable fashion. My only concern is how the author is going to wrap up the plot in the last book. His endings to the books always leave me on the edge of my seat, waiting anxiously to pick up the next book in the series. The battle/action scenes throughout this series are great, but this one tops them all. I thoroughly enjoyed the "angel games" tournament during the summer in this one. And the main theme of redemption is pulled off in an interesting way. It'll be interesting to see if my wife likes it; purely because of the characters involved and how the direction the author took the story. I know she'll like the added bits of the romantic/drama pieces of the plot. Can't wait for book 5!
I don't give a whole bunch of 5 out of 5's. But thought this book deserved it. This whole series has an interesting take on the God vs Lucifer fight. Lot's of fallen angels and demons to go around.Book 1 lags behind the rest of the series. It's enjoyable enough, but this fourth book takes it to a whole new level. The author loves action and he writes it well. However, in this one, the romantic side of the story finally grew up and took charge a little bit. It's natural with the characters getting older, but I thought it was handled nicely. I have my eyes out for Book 5. Can't wait to see how it picks up. With how this book ended, I'm crossing my fingers that the answers are good.
Even though I get older every day, I find myself enjoying this series of teenage books more with every release. And my grandson absolutely loves them. I like them for the solid messages and youthful interactions between characters (even though I worried for awhile about Grandma Denise in this installment). My grandson likes the books for their action and the War for Sins aspect in the fight between God and the devil. No matter what anyone says, these are 5 out of 5 stars for my old eyes. Will keep a lookout for the fifth book.
I wish book five was out already! The author's writing continues to get better and better. And it was really good to start off with in book one. Troy has really grown from his beginnings. He went from little confidence to a downright true hero of the ages. Plus, the romance really kicks it up a notch in this one. There were rumblings of the goings on throughout, but this book brought some feelings I'd been seeing to light. Credit to the writing for laying the bread crumbs. Can't wait for the fifth book!!
Such a great series for all ages! I love it. My daughter and her husband love it. And my grandchildren absolutely adore it. It has grown up over the course of the books. There are some scary parts, but the overall theme is so lovely. Such a story of faith and redemption. The last battle was truly awesome and emotionally tugging.Highly recommend for everyone!
Better than the first three. Darker for the genre it is set in, more alive. I enjoyed the depth of characters more and the ending was all around solid. Gotta say I'm looking forward to book 5. And this author seems to pump them out fast.
