GOT AN ARC!I loved this book so freaking much! It was so much better than the first one! I don't really like flashbacks but in this book, I didn't mind reading them because I was really curious to know what Shaun was hiding from his past. However, the more I read, the more I didn't want to find out anymore because the truth scared the hell out of me!And I was right to be scared.Because it was like someone just ripped my heart open.Everytime I read how Carmen suffered and how Shaun took care of her even if seeing his wife like that was hard.God. I couldn't stop crying. I understand now why Shaun was so distant and afraid to move on. What happened to him was horrible. I couldn't imagine myself being in his place and still living.

This is the second book in this series. Kelsey though she was okay with just being friends with benefits with Shaun but she is realizing that isn’t true. She wants more from him. She knows that he has past where horrible things happened and he blames himself. If he would just open up a little bit to her and let her help him she wouldn’t mind their situation. He doesn’t though; he won’t sleep over and leaves right after they have sex. He pushes her away whenever he she brings up his past. So she comes clean with him and lets him know she wants more. He tells her he can’t give her more, Kelsey says if he can’t open up and let him help so they can try to have more than they are done. She has to look out for herself. She can’t keep doing this, every time he leaves her heart breaks a little. She knew she would get hurt by him. Shaun wants Kelsey but he just can’t let go of what happened to his wife all those years ago. Why can’t Kelsey just like the way it is between them and not want more? Can Shaun let go of Kelsey now that he has had something with her? If he just hadn’t drink and then drove on his wedding day everything would be different. Shaun can’t tell Kelsey the rest of what happened. He lives every day tormented by what happened to his wife and his part in it. Kelsey is doing great in her cooking classes and is offered a part time job at The Hot Pot by the owner Lucy. At least part of Kelsey’s life is going the way she wants. Now if only Shaun would open up to her and her dad would talk to her again. Will Shaun realize how much he loves Kelsey be its too late? Will Kelsey be willing to give him another chance if he does? This book is even more emotional than the first. I liked this one more than the first and can’t wait to read the next. In this book you learn more about Shaun and what happened to his wife. He keeps going over everything that happened and his part in it. Kelsey is trying to get him to open up so she can help him without pushing too hard. She wants to be a friend to him even after she has told him they can’t have benefits anymore. He can’t do it though; he says he may never be ready. Kelsey goes through things herself that she doesn’t tell Shaun about. She has her own emotional path in this book. I want Shaun to open up his eyes and not lose Kelsey. What happened with his wife was horrible and it will take time to heal but if he doesn’t at least try soon he will lose Kelsey. Their story is heart breaking and frustrating to me. I can’t imagine what Shaun feels. Kelsey’s dad has a heart attack. It helps their relationship a lot afterwards. Kelsey goes home and helps him recover and they reconcile. I don’t want to give away any spoilers but this is a great series. Great Job Dori, I will be looking for other books by her.I was given this book in return for an honest review.

Can I give this more than 5 stars?I received an advance copy of this book (part 2 of a planned three part series)from the author. I loved part one, which I will tell you is hot, hot, HOT andI loved this story, Shaun's backstory, even more. This series gets better and better. It is addictive.Dori Lavelle grabs you by the emotional lapels and pulls you in.This second contribution to the Learning To Live Again series, is written in a difficult format of jumps forward and backward in time. It is like reading two stories at the same time, both starring Shaun and slowly opening up his difficult past. As tough as this format can be, Dori does a masterful job of keeping the reader clear on what is taking place, although at times you waill say "WAIT! I need to know more!"Have faith, all the pieces to the puzzle are eventually revealed.I will have an emotional wait for the third installment but will enjoy rereading both books one and two over again until the release of To Breathe Again.

Oh man this one was a doozy of a roller coaster ride. There are different twists and turns and I could not put it down! In this one we get a glimpse of Shaun's past with Carmen. There is such a love between them, you can see why he is tortured with the thought of loving again. Kelsey has some big changes happen for her, and when things go awry it seems all is lost. Will they be able to find what they are both looking for? Dori definitely has a way of drawing you in and only giving enough information as you need it to keep you guessing. I loved this installment and cannot wait to see what happens in the next book as Shaun returns to his hometown to face his demons. I wonder what that one had in store for us!!

http://openbooksociety.com/article/to...WOW!!!!! I have been reading books penned by Dori Lavelle (six in total now) over the last year…this book being my sixth, though only the second in this new series Learning to Live Again. I have to say that I really liked all the prior 5 books but this one…I JUST LOVED, hence my first rating for Ms. Lavelle of “5”. If only I could have given a “6”……I read this book all in one sitting, I was unable to tear myself away and get some sleep. It was worth it. The raw emotion that is written for the two main characters is just phenomenal. What Shaun has had to live through is gut wrenching. In some books, reading in the present and in flashback mode can be quite difficult. I must say that the flow in this book was seamless and the timing was perfect. Just as one wonders more about Shaun’s previous life, we get a snippet of that past. As each tidbit is doled out, I really got to know Shaun and could feel his pain. How does one get over all that he has to endure? Obviously the title says it all…love.Kelsey is one patient woman as well as honourable. I was surprised however at what she found acceptable as a relationship with Shaun in the beginning. What one does for love! Kelsey has vowed to stand by Shaun and she is true to her word, though at times I wondered why since Shaun made it abundantly clear what his position was with respect to their relationship (friends with benefits only). I am very happy she had such a good friend in Maeve. When life was crashing around Kelsey, she had refuge and someone looking out after her! I can’t imagine going through what Kelsey went through and not speaking with Shaun, but this is her cross to bear and her life to live. The conclusion of the story was emotional, complete and satisfying. A well written, gripping, moving, heartwarming, entertaining second book to this new series of Ms. Lavelle’s. I HIGHLY recommend this series. If you are a fan of romance, you won’t be disappointed. I was temporarily emotionally drained by the roller coaster of a ride this story entails, but not disappointed.*OBS would like to thank the author for supplying a free copy of this title in exchange for an honest review*

*** obsessed by books arc given for an honest review ***this book starts right where the first left off, we see Shaun struggling with his feelings for Kelsey so much that they agree to not let it get serious and even at one point to just try and be friends. this is hard for Kelsey cause she loves Shaun and she has put her feelings in since the start, but the truth is so has Shaun he is just afraid to admit it and feels that he doesn't deserve Kelsey, that once she know the whole truth with Carmen his late wife that she will run and he doesn't blame her. there is a town fire and Kelsey goes to Shaun to ask him to help knowing that it would be hard for him but the town needs him, afterwards Kelsey tries to be there for Shaun but he wont allow it and treats her like an asshole , Kelsey decides right then that their arrangement is not working for her anymore and she don't know if being friends is an option. so while things go cold between Kelsey and Shaun. Kelsey has somethings in her life that come about that she has to deal with and she has to deal with a loss too. Shuan realizes that he truly loves Kelsey and is ready to spill the whole truth, but is it too late and Shaun is the very person she needs in her life right now, will she listen to him and let him back in.this book had my emotions all over the place, you better have a box of tissues near by cause you will need them. what a great book to have to go through life and make the decsions that Shaun had to make and face omg you have to get this book its a 5+.

To Love Again by Dori Lavelle is the second book in her Learning to Live Again series.Kelsey has learned the bare bones of Shaun's past. He has allowed her to believe he has told her the whole story but he managed to leave out most of the painful details that followed the terrible car accident that ruined his life eight years ago on his wedding night. They are still enjoying their arrangement, at least on the surface. Kelsey can't stand when he leaves and won't spend the night and Shaun is having trouble with the guilt that leaving her is causing him. His past keeps winning though and he keeps leaving her.Sounds intense right? This is just the first couple of chapters. Then the really complicated stuff begins. Things heat up between Kelsey and Shaun, but they're both so wary that it takes very little to rock their boat. Besides their own drama they each have to deal with outside drama.I can't say anymore without ruining the impact of some of the many surprises packed into this second installment. Be prepared to ugly cry. Dori Lavelle has done it again and I cannot with for the next book, To Breathe Again.

OMG!!!! I loved this book. This book is an emotional rollercoaster ride, full of passion, sorrow, pain, love and acceptance. It starts out right where the fist book (To Live Again) ends. Kelsey has remained with Shaun in friends with fringe benefits relationship. Shaun still can't commit fully to her due to his past.We are taken back via flashbacks to what occurred in Shaun's past with his deceased wife (Carmen). I will not add any spoilers to this review, because this is a must read. I can guarantee tissues will be needed close by while reading this book. Dori writes with such emotions, that you feel all the pain and suffering that Kelsey, Carmen and Shaun go through within this story. You will learn why Shaun has shut himself out from finding and holding on to love. This story is a heartbreaker, but has a beautiful ending.Dori writes an exceptional realistic story that draws you in and holds you to the last page. I can't wait to see what Dori has in store in her the next book.I would highly recommend this book to anyone (over 18+) and give it a 5+ rating. I received a copy of this book from the the author.

She's done it again! The second part to Kelsey and Shaun's journey is just as heart wrenching as the first. With more from Shaun's past and a twist in Kelsey's future. This is a page turner and a must read. Dori knows how to leave you wanting more!

SNS Rating: 4.1~~~~~~~~~~Dee's ★★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~When you get this book, be prepared for a lot of tears, both happy tears and sad ones. All secrets and burdens are revealed and the nightmare Shaun has lived with for years is finally resolved. Unbelievable how much emotional pain consumed him. In her effort to help Shaun, Kelsey gives him an ultimatum : either open up completely or she would walk away. Seems this was the kick in the pants he needed to get out of his self imposed grave. A few more complications from others further hinder their connection, but love always finds a way. Always. Ms. Lavelle has painted a lovely picture using words as her paint. All the heart ache, the sorrow, the struggles to find the light at the end of the tunnel was beautifully orchestrated and made for an enjoyable, entertaining reading experience. I was given this book by the author in exchange for an honest review. Five Stars.~~~~~~~~~~Sharlene's ★★★★✰ Review~~~~~~~~~~ The second installment of the series is just as good as the first. The author does a great job setting the scene and developing the characters. While the first installment focused a lot on the past of the two main characters, this one focuses more on the current. While Shaun's past still does unfold in this book, the focus is more the current times and what the main characters are going to do about their relationship. Kelsey is a strong woman and it's nice to see her standing up for herself and not be a weakling half wit that is usually seen in these types of books. Shaun is still broken but seriously working hard at getting to where Kelsey needs him. Hopefully the third installment will see him finally settled and healed. This book is told in dual POV but is mainly told from Kelsey's perspective. Maeve is still in this book giving off her attitude that I love to see. We finally get to meet Kelsey's dad and her friend Delia. As stated above, this is a series and comes in 3 parts so it is not a standalone. That being said you could probably read this one by itself. However, you would understand it so much better if you read the first installment too. There is a temporary HEA in this book.~~~~~~~~~~Zarah's ★★★½✰ Review~~~~~~~~~~Some heartbreaking momentsI received this title courtesy of Sweet and Sassy Book-Aholics for an honest reviewThis is the second book in Dori Lavelle's, Learning to Live again series. I was disappointed at the end of the 1st book, To Live again, ended and after reading this part, I still don't really understand why both books couldn't have been combined into one really really good book. That being said, we do get answers in this one. We find out the reason for Shaun's reluctance to have a relationship, the secrets of his past and we see Kelsey renew her relationship with her father. It's not all smooth sailing though as they both have things still to overcome, especially Kelsey. This installment is a roller coaster of emotions and my heart did ache for Shaun and the choices he made in the past.

http://www.njkinnysblog.com/2015/01/r...To Love Again picks up from where the previous book, To Live Again left off. I had immensely enjoyed the first book and so had great expectations from this one which I am happy to say were more than fulfilled! The book covers for all the books in this series are same with only the title to tell them apart. The blurb for this book is intriguing and instantly makes you want to pick the book up to read and I have noticed that this kind of interest is generated by the blurbs of all the three books in this series which is an admirable positive point in favour of the books.Dori Lavelle has the uncanny ability to weave together sentences that touch your heart and make you one with the characters. Same happens in this book too. I felt each and every emotion felt by the characters in this book and got connected to their story so much that their feelings stayed with me even after I had finished the book. The best thing about Dori's books is that they are mainly novellas which are quick to read and sure to entertain and engage you. Kudos to the author for writing another hit book! The writing style of the author is simple, engaging and very vivid. She vividly captures the emotional play of the central characters and succeeds in making the readers feel the emotions too. The characters are developed further in this book and while I loved Shaun and Kelsey in the first book, I definitely became best buddies with them in this one. Their attraction is scorching and the scenes between them hot with a lot of emotional play.Their story takes another twist in this book which left me even more eager to start on the third and the last book in this series, To Breathe Again.Absolutely everything about the book is perfect. 5 on 5 to it and strongly recommended to all romance lovers above the age of eighteen. Go buy and read this series. It is not to be missed. Although the books can be read as standalone but it is recommended that you read them in order. Dori is a talented author and definitely on my list of favourites.I received an ARC from the author and I am very thankful to her. The above review is my honest and unbiased opinion and in no way influenced.

Make sure that you read To Live Again (Learning To Live Again 1) prior to read To Love Again, this is a continuation of that story. Kelsey thinks she can abide by the rules that Shaun has set up for their relationship but she finds herself wanting more. Shaun can't give her his heart because of his past but he knows his feelings for her run deeper. Can she deal with the secrets of his past when he tells her?In the story there are some chapters that give you a glimpse into the Shaun's past with Carmen and it helps you see what he has endured in his past. Why it has lead him to be a broken man. You will feel every emotion that he and Carmen felt as they weathered the set backs. Shaun can't tell Kelsey anything else about his past because he is afraid it will scare her off. Kelsey knows that she has strong feelings for Shaun and wants to stand by him but she knows that she needs to do what is right for herself because of her past relationships. When tragedy strikes it makes Shaun realize that Kelsey is what he needs in his life, but is he too late? This story throws quit a few twists into it that affect Kelsey and Shaun. Many of them I did not see coming. You will laugh and cry right along with the characters through each trial and tribulation. Be prepared to hold on tight throughout the roller coaster ride of emotions that this book will bring about. This story is so much more than a romance. Each character will face love, loss, heartbreak, and happiness. I can't wait to see what book 3 brings. Another great book by author Dori Lavelle. I received a gift copy in exchange for an honest review. Read and reviewed for Stories and Swag Blog.

This picks up where book one left off, it could be a standalone but is better to read them in order. With this new installment Dori takes you through the twists and turns as she tells you a story of heartbreak as Shaun tries to get over his past and learns to forgive himself. In this book we find out why Shaun can’t forgive himself and move on. Your heart will break for him, you will see how much you are willing to do for those you love. He has been to hell and back. Kelsey’s tries to hold on and be what Shaun needs but can she hold on until he gets his life back on track. Can she handle the friends with benefits and if so for how long before she finally breaks and said enough? Both have secrets they are hiding and both must come clean.Dori hooks you from the start and pulls you in as she gives you a heartbreaking story that keeps you on the edge of you seat watching two people fall apart why trying to keep it together. Again I am having a hard time not giving the story away as I say these two have a hard road to travel. Can they work things out and if they do what will the author have in store for us in book 3? I am sure it will be more heartbreak before she lets them have an HEA or will they lose each other and the one true love of their lives. If you haven’t read anything by Dori you should pick up one of her books. She takes you on a ride that will keep you guessing until the end. I myself can’t wait for book 3 to come to see what this lovely author has in store for us.

Shaun and Kelsey have an agreement to have a friends with benefits relationship. But it never really works that way. Kelsey is in too deep. Shaun finds it being more but panics at the mere thought. As time goes on, both are having a hard time pretending and when she says she loves him and can’t help it, he runs. Kelsey runs away too! She can’t help but love him and they both go hot and cold with each other. Shaun tells Kelsey most of his past but still has kept one huge secret and he is afraid if he tells her she will run away for good. Both have so many things going on that it makes my head spin trying to figure out how they will make it past so much adversity. The story line is good and the characters are believable and I am hooked on this series watching the two with both of their issues working slowly towards each other.I can’t tell you much since the book is short without giving so much away. But just know that neither is stupid or immature in their decisions and they love each other, they both just need to believe it!Each book gets better and better and I am excited to see what happens next with them and to see if Shaun can finally heal and move forward in life.

A deal was struck and reluctantly Kelsey agrees to friends with benefits. Shaun can't give her any more. He can't give up his secrets and Kelsey may not be able to live with her unreturned love. It's a very generous benefits "package," but one Kelsey is oh so eager to renegotiate. I read the first in this series, Learning to Live Again, back in late November 2014 and have since been anxiously awaiting the release of To Love Again. Dori Lavelle does a fantastic job bringing us into the turmoil of their lives. Kelsey's supportive girlfriend Maeve and Shaun's brother are there to lean on as the two cope with grief apart from each other instead of facing it together. One can only hope Shaun and Kelsey will finally realize that learning to love again and sharing all of themselves, is the key to making them whole and healthy.

Wow she did it again. Speechless! Must read. This book start off with Kelsey and Shaun being friend with benefit until Kelsey started wanted more and it scared Shaun because deep down he wanted more with her to. But in Shaun mind he only love one women her name was Carmen. She was his life. Until the choice was taken away. Now haunted by his past and what happen can he move on with Kelsey. Can he love her?Can he move on?Can he forgive his self? Can he tell her?Well she forgive him when she finds out what really happen to Carmen? In this book we learn about Shaun’s life and how Kelsey tries to help him move on. Will Kelsey be able to show Shaun that he can Love again.

A book and series that is beautifully written by Dori and can't wait to read the next book I don't want this series to come to a end! I received an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review. This story is more detailed as to why Kelsey and Shaun act the way they do and why Shaun is guarded. They've both gone through very emotional heartache in the past and don't want to be hurt again. When Kelsey goes through something major, Shaun finally admits that he doesn't want to and can't live without Kelsey. This book brings out a lot of emotions. Dori Lavelle is a wonderful author!
