This is the story of Chris and Alexandra (Alex) who met in college but didn't become romantically involved until a few years later when Alex is admitted to the hospital where Chris is employed as a nurse. I was a young adult in the 70's so related to many of the scenarios outlined in this book which takes place during that time period. Most likely, the older generation will appreciate this book more so than younger people. It was a different experience reading a book written entirely in the first person male POV. It took a while for me to become engrossed in this book and honestly never did warm up to Alex. This a book about a serious problem that existed in the 70's and continues to post a threat to society...Drug addiction. There were some formatting and editing errors in this book but did not deter from the enjoyment of this read. I look forward to reading more from this talented author.
