Zofia strikes againWith many twisty-turny events, this one held my attention throughout. Just how many times can one woman end up tripping over a dead body? We shall see. I also like the funny interludes.

Kate Kulig's third book in the "Bloody Murder Mysteries" series is the best yet. I have been entranced by her characters thus far, but this one takes the main character, Zofia, deeper into her character, exposing both strengths and weaknesses not seen before. The story itself is also quite different, but it is difficult to explain without spoilers.(view spoiler)[The story is more a missing person than a murder. (hide spoiler)]I adore Kate's characters in this series, but in this one Zo is very much on her own. It starts off with her recovering from a recent bout of flu, and discovering some hallucinogenic properties of things like cough syrup, which seem to linger in the minds of others as she sleuths her way through to the end.As much as the story, I've enjoyed seeing the depth of writing improve for Kate as well. The first book in the series was super, now Kate's voice has become even more rich, more evocative, and more interesting. I am quite eagerly awaiting the next book.
