As a reader, I usually get bored with series around book five or six. This has not happened to me yet with "The Squeaky Clean" mysteries. I'm ready for book ten to come out already :). Author Christy Barritt does an amazing job of keeping the suspense up as Gabby St. Claire continues to struggle with finding herself. I feel like I've gone on this journey with Gabby and I want to keep going until she's got everything figured out--what she wants to do when she grows up and whether she's going to get her happily ever after. It's almost humorous the way Gabby stumbles onto the solutions for the cases she somehow entangles herself in but she always gets the right suspect in the end. Until we meet again Gabby St. Claire....

Title: BROOM AND GLOOMAuthor: Christy BarrittPublisher: self publishedDecember 2014ISBN: 978-1505434491Genre: Cozy mysteryGabby St. Claire is determined to get back in the saddle again. She discovers that sometimes taking life by the horns means staring danger in the face, no matter the consequences.BROOM AND GLOOM is the 9th book in Ms. Barritt’s Squeaky Clean Mystery series. I am so glad that Ms. Barritt decided to go Indie for these books after the traditional publisher decided there was no market for them. I think her avid readers will testify there definitely is. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this latest book. I had missed many of the books in the series, but even so I easily kept up with what was happening. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Spooky suspense guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat. Couldn’t put it down. Must read mystery with a great faith message.Available in ebook and paperback. 274 pages.

Number 9 in the Squeaky Clean Christian mystery series. I've had to skip a couple that I was not able to find free or on Prime. This one was my Prime free book for the month of August. I believe I'm running out of these and her next series, the Holly Ann Paladin ones are not available on Prime (and I've not seen them offered for free, just a reduced price). I shall miss reading these when I'm done....

I did like this story better than Foul Play, but I still miss Riley in the Gabby and Riley equation. They balance each other. It was nice to get to know Gabby’s soon to be step brother.

Squeaky cleanThis book, number 9 in the series, was my first one to read by this author. References were made to characters from previous installations, but I felt the book was a good stand alone. The plot line contained many twists and turns, and in all the twisting two characters were left dangling. Did Georgia live or die (or did I miss that part)? And was the manager a dirt bag or not? Those are just things I was not clear on. Overall it was a good read and I will probably read some more in the series as I have time.

I really loved this particular installment of the series, however...there were quite a few discrepancies/inconsistencies and that detracted from the enjoyment.

I feel like these reviews are getting rather redundant but there you have it... still like all the same things!

I am a huge fan of Christy Barritt's mystery and suspense books. I have read the previous books in her Squeaky Clean mystery and love the heroine of Gabby St. Clair. In this book, Gabby St. Clair travels to Oklahoma to meet her about to be step-sibling, Trace, who is an up and coming country music star. While the story doesn't really have a romantic string through the plot, the story does show Gabby questioning her ability to keep Riley or any guy for that matter. She connects with her brother and is grateful for a chance at a family. Barritt's writing is clear and concise. All of the story is told in first person narrative. Our viewpoint is from Gabby. Barritt never runs off into a minor character's perspective. Writing in first person is tricky, at least, from my personal experience because you want to head hop into the other characters, but Barritt stays true to the nature of Gabby St. Clair. As for the mystery, Barritt does a good job at creating one. She allows Gabby's skin to stand on end when she thinks someone is falling her. I love falling the trail of clues as Gabby keeps questioning people and even skipping her own conference that she paid for to ask a person of interest something that she believes will draw her closer to the conclusion. I couldn't pinpoint who the bad guy was, but I had a suspicion it had to be at least, one of these three people. So I had a hard time figuring out who it was. Good job, Christy. Christy Barritt does it again in her latest attention to the Squeaky Clean Mysteries, Broom and Gloom, with a captivating plot, additive characters, and the feeling of wanting to belong. Barritt did not disapoint. I will be recommending this book to everyone.

Gabby goes country...and finds murder! This is only the second Gabby St. Claire book that I've read but I am definitely hooked! Of course, I was already a fan of Christy Barritt's excellent suspense. She has such a lovely distinctive style and turning the last page will leave you feeling a very satisfied reader.Gabby is in a state of limbo in this book, something I understand all too well, which opens her up for some pretty wild adventures, situations that only our Gabby could find herself in. A great mystery with lots of twists and turns. I was sure I knew who-done-it pretty early on but I second and third and even fourth-guessed myself as I mentally chased after clues that seemingly lead off in other directions. In a Christy Barritt story people are never what the seem and situations are never quite as they first appear. You gotta love the title, Broom And Gloom. It, and the striking cover are really eye-catching. I really like the continuity of the cleaning theme in all of the book titles for the Squeaky Clean Mysteries series. Broom And Gloom is another great mystery from a talented author. Proof that faith and murder can make for a great read. If you are a fan of Christy Barritt or just mysteries in general you won't want to miss Broom And Gloom!(I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for my review. All opinions are my own.)

Gabby succeeds agan!I just finished Broom and Gloom, Book 9 in the Squeaky Clean Mysteries by Christy Barritt. She gave me the ebook recently in exchange for a fair review. The main characters of two different sets of books are good friends. I like that there is a connection. It makes the reader feel part of the group of friends. It is like reading a friend's diary to read Christy Barritt's novels. Gabby St. Claire and Sierra Nakamura Davis both solve mysteries. In this book Gabby is about to get a new step-brother, Trace, a successful lead singer of a country music band. Tragedy happens to the band, two women are missing and Gabby thinks she may have a stalker. It seems that someone thinks Gabby is Trace's new girlfriend, rather than his step-sister-to-be. Add into the mix an older man who is a self-important, arrogant, womanizer and two other men who truly care for Gabby. Her heart gets pulled in many directions while she tries to solve mysteries. As usual, Ms. Barritt uses humor, Christian values, a bit of romance, a lot of coincidence and many twists and turns to make the reader wonder until the very end. Before you, the reader, gets the answers, there are more questions and a lot of danger, leaving your head spinning. I have to read the rest of the Squeaky Clean Mysteries! You will want to do so also! This is a great read for young adults up to senior citizens. Enjoy!

Gabby is still in the process of trying to figure out her life. This one is set in Oklahoma, Gabby is at a forensics conference and while there connects with her future step brother, Trace. Trace asks her to look into his girlfriend's disappearance. As she tries to do help him and still get the most out of the conference, things start to become clearer for her. She begins to set a plan for herself in relation to her job and handover her future to God. I enjoyed this book, really enjoyed the interactions between Gabby and Trace, and Gabby and Evie. I loved that Evie was able to give Gabby a different point of view than everyone else had been giving her about her relationship with Riley. The case of the missing girlfriend ends much differently that I was excepting, I was shocked at the turn it took. Love it when I can't guess the outcome, so this was good. I have been following this series from the beginning and am hoping for "the happily ever after" to eventually happen for Gabby. The ending left me anxiously waiting for the next book to find out what happens.

Finished 1/4/15I know I sound like a broken record when it comes to this series but it is my all time favorite Christian mystery/suspense series. Christy Barritt has developed the characters so well that in my mind they are more than fictional, but almost real. In this story, Gabby is in Oklahoma attending a workshop/conference for forensics. She has the opportunity to meet up and coming country music sensation, Trace Ryan, who will soon be her step brother. Trace has been dealing with a stalker and his girlfriend disappeared weeks ago with no trace. Gabby attempts to solve this mystery while keeping up with the conference and trying to figure out her own tangled up life and work through her feelings for Riley, her former fiancé.

Another great Squeaky clean mystery with Gabby!Gabby is one of my favorite characters and this book did not disappoint. As she works to find a missing girlfriend of her soon to be stepbrother, Trace, Gabby is also at a conference for training in forensics. She runs into several sticky situations but doesn't give up working to solve the mystery. The story has a wonderful message that God uses our messes in our lives and has a plan for good in our life. I am looking forward to the next Gabby book. Thank you to the author for the gift of this book in exchange for a honest review.

Another great book by Christy Barritt!!!!This book is mystery with romance, lessons from everyday life, and the importance of living our lives for God. They are all woven together again to make a book the hooks you from the first pages and keeps you on the edge of your seat. I can't wait to read the next book in this series. Gabby is a crime scene cleaner with forensics degree who gets caught up in a missing persons case. She is determined to find out what happened to her and bring her back safely. She shows her skills as she solves the mystery. ( I got a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review) Honestly you should read this series.

Can Gabby ever have a calm day?NOPE!Her life just keeps going and going with adventurous twists and turns.I love how it seems like we are running from one thing to the next with her.Yet, she is finally realizing she needs to just rest in God's plan for her life.I think this is a lesson we all need!Christy Barritt, thanks for continuing to write wonderful stories that teach us lessons and entertain us too. Keep being willing to use the gift God has given you.We are blessed! Now just one more question..............WHAT'S GOING HAPPEN NEXT TO GABBY?

I LOVED this book! I was so glad to read of Gabby's spiritual growth in this installment of the Squeaky Clean Series. I enjoyed meeting her soon to be step brother. Gabby has always wanted a family and her's has been so dysfunctional. I read this book in two days because I just couldn't put it down! Riley and Gabby seem to be taking steps in the "right" direction, so that was encouraging. I really miss them together! I did kind of expect to hear more about her disagreement with Chad over the business though. I can't wait to read the next one!

More Squeaky Clean! This is book 9 of a very fine collection of stories featuring a spunky Crime Scene Cleaner, Gabby St Clair. The stories are built on good character development, good storyline, good scenes and scenarios and are not dependent on obscene language or gratuitous sex or violence. This is an excellent choice for readers looking for decent mysteries without having to wade through the common foul language that is inherent in so much of the current offerings available.

Good storyI really loved Riley and Gabby , when they broke I was heartbroken. I have made myself read the last two books. So it made me extremely happy to have Riley in this story. And I loved Trent and Wentworth they are awesome. Now I can't wait for the next book. I really just want Gabby happy, I hope it is with Riley but if not I can live with that. As you can tell I have become very invested in this series, it is wonderful. Read and enjoy.

I love seeing what Gabby is up to next. She seems to find trouble no matter where she is and I love how the new people she meets gets incorporated in to the story. I have a feeling that we will see them again later on. I also like how the author comes back to characters introduced earlier in the series and gives updates and teasers on them.I received this book free from the author for an honest review.

Great read!I gave this 5 stars because I loved it. A well written story with well developed characters. I never can figure out the ending, there's always a twist. I have read the whole series and have enjoyed every one. I loved the spiritual aspects of the story as well. I always get a wonderful lesson from each story and this one was no exception. For me it was it was to be open to God's plan whatever that might be. I highly recommend this series of books!

Book 9 in the series. I thought this one was better than Foul Play although I enjoyed that one too I felt this one had a better story line. Even when Gabby is away for a conference and meeting her future step brother she still manages to find a mystery. While she is investigating she also has some time for self discovery and realizes she needs to figure out what path she needs to take in her life. Christy Barritt never disappoints the series just keeps getting better and better.

I have really enjoyed this series! Can't wait for the next one, I've got it pre-ordered for my Kindle. The characters really came alive for me, and I got a little attached, which is why I was in a bad mood after To Love, Honor and Perish. :) But reading the novella written from Riley's standpoint (While You Were Sweeping) really helped!

I can hardly wait to read the next book!I enjoyed this book very much, although the last book was a bit more of a ride. This one was a quick page-turner and I finished it in a couple of hours. It seemed kind of short and out of the normal loop, like a quick break in the full story line. Even so, it was good.

Nice short story. Gabby is still trying to find out what she is going to do with her life and work. She meets her future stepbrother when she goes to to attend a work conference. Her brother hires her to find is girlfriend who disappeared without a trace. A witty crime solving story of a crime scene cleaner who is trained in forensics but can't get job. A light hearted christian mystery.

I'm not sure what will happen to me emotionally when Christy Barritt completes this series. I've read now all 9 books and Gabby is just a part of my life. I have enjoyed watching her journey and this was another EXCELLENT chapter in "life with Gabby St. Clair!"

I love this series. I really don't want it to end! In book #9 Gabby is still trying to figure out who she is and what God wants for her to do with her life. I can feel how each experience is bringing her closer to that realization. Can't wait for #10!
