Justine: Into The Blood (Blood and Passion) (Volume 1) by Carole Gill is an amazing historical vampire romance that must surely rank at the top of its genre. The author excels at lurid descriptions, sex, brutality and the scope of the vampire history is breath-taking. I so love this book.Justine's story takes the reader through the French Revolution where the young Justine is turned by her creator, a vampire. She learns every facet of her new life from her master and here the author delves deeply into emotions and the need for sex and blood.Love and betrayal are the key cornerstones to this novel and both are wonderfully exposed to the reader in ample quantities. From France the vampires flee to London where horrors await them. The story weaves between escape and capture, love and death, safety and danger and never slows down - always keeping the reader enthralled with each facet of the country the vampires are taken to.This vampire romance is rich in history, deep in blood sex and exotic locations and is very highly recommended.

Entertaining and Terrifying - just what a vampire story should be!This book is well written and it captures you from the very start! It is an interesting spin on the life of a vampire and the journey she makes to find herself. It is a fascinating journey the author takes Justine through as she is torn from a life of innocence to the seedy dark world of debauchery known only to the corrupt elites and the vampire communities.I love historical fiction and the details given about life in France and England during the French Revolution are exquisite! You can taste, smell, and feel the world as though you are there and at times, the darkness can seem like it's closing in on you, just as Justine felt it was swallowing her up too!The questions raised about what evil really might be are subtle, but they definitely get you thinking. You get to see another side of horror in this dark thriller; the side where the sinister nature of humans without limits, used to excess and instant gratification, rival even the most terrific of vampires! In some cases, the humans valued the life of others even less than the creatures of the night!I loved this story! It had some graphic scenes, but hey, it's a vampire story! If you can't handle having someone sink their teeth into someone's flesh and suck the blood to the very last drop then you won't like this, but if you do... and if you don't mind some explicit sexual interactions, this novel will be a must read! I definitely recommend it and I'd have to say that Carole Gill is a master in the telling of horror tales!

HELLUVA READ!!!!!Carole Gill has become one of my all time favorite authors!!! This book is definitely for adults!!! I can't stand people who read a book that's about Vampires, they're evil and good, but definitely incredible monsters!! And Carole Gill brings them to life like no other!! Wicked read and I hated for it to end!!! Thank the stars she has several books!!! This is full of lust, murder, brutality and love. It spans centuries and beautiful, yet dark, places. I'm enthralled by her writing and on that note, I'm off to start her next masterpiece!!!

Justine loses both of her parents at a young age. She loses her mother at the age of ten and her father four years later. She was taken in by a family friend where she learned how to sew. After many years her work as a seamstress is discovered by the Queen who then takes her in and gives her a job as a seamstress. Justine loves living at the palace with the Queen until she is attacked and runs away because she is afraid. This night starts a long journey for Justine one she is not sure she wants to travel but has no choice. One dark night of her journey Justine is attacked again but this time she is attacked by rogue vampires but along comes Gascoyne her one and only true savior. He brings her back from the dead to live a new life a life of eternity. She is now a vampire but she is different than the vampire that attacked her she is like the vampire that saved her. When she is first turned Justine is very upset about it and his mad at her creator and hates who she has become. She hates the dark person that she is now. But she soon learns on her journey with all of the things that she has to endure and all of the things that she sees that all creatures' humans and vampires are all alike. She learns that there are good vampires and humans but there are also bad humans and vampires. She learns that some have hearts and some don't. She learns that it doesn't matter if you are a human or a vampire that you can love and just because she has been turned into a vampire doesn't mean that she can't feel love in heart and she can care about someone human or vampire.I have had the privilege of reading Carole's novels The Blackstone Vampires and was very happy when she asks me if I wanted to read Justine: Into the Blood. I love reading about vampires and have loved reading Carole's books. Carole knows how to pull you into her novels and make you feel as if you are one of the characters yourself. You feel as if you are standing off to one side watching and listening to everything that is going on. I love dark, gothic and horrific stories. The bloodier and gross they are the more I love it. If you like these things as well then you are going to love Justine: Into the Blood plus you will also love The Blackstone Vampires as well.
