The Pack 001: A Wolf in Egypt Reviews
Unique art style. Egyptian (and Nubian) Werewolves. Black Artist/Writer/Creator. Available digitally which means instantly on your kindle? YES. Indie publishing company I'm guessing but that just means humble beginnings. All the elements of a great start to a new graphic novel series. Why 4/5 stars then? I felt that this issue was too short (it's set for a five issue run?) Also I was hoping that the plot would be a bit more fleshed out by the end of this issue other than revenge being a center point...Nevertheless, a great read. I'm here for graphic novels, comicbooks and web comics especially by Black creators! My friend who recommended it to me has a more in depth review on this book here: http://blacknerdproblems.com/site/the...
A gorgeous and honest look into one of Africa's great civilizations. Julie raises the bar and honors Black History with this exciting, thrilling and epic story. There is much to amaze and capture readers from the very first panel to the last. I am eager to see what awaits Khenti and Nekhet on their perilous journey back to their homeland. Anyone who loves Africa's rich and diverse cultural history will fall in love with this story.
The Artwork is Beautiful! It’s also a rare delight to find a graphic novel/series about Black shapeshifters let alone one that takes place in Ancient Egypt and Nubia. The pacing of the story was/is good and I’m curious to see if Nekhet and Khenti make it home to Nubia.
What attracted me to this graphic novel, when I first came across it, was the amazing art style; it’s detailed, lush and the colouring’s done well. Paul did a good job depicting an ancient Egyptian civilization. This is the first part of the story (there’s three parts currently) and I thought it was intriguing so far. The story will be of interest to readers who are into Therianthropy.
This graphic novel about Egyptian and Nubian werewolves active during the height of Egypt's rule by the pharaohs is one of the most imaginative comics I've read in quite some time. Like many others, I read the book digitally on my kindle. The art is GORGEOUS and very cinematic. My only small nitpick is some scenes were so dark it was difficult to tell what was going on. However, this is a tiny quibble in an otherwise sensational work. Some Hollywood studio needs to acquire the film rights to this book post haste.
Loved the story. I read it on Comixology which made it seem cinematic. Great book all around. After reading it, I immediately purchased the second issue.
Story and art on this is amazing! A nice start to this fantasy/horror/historical odyssey.
Interesting readThere's enough here to intrigue yourself and get the second half. That's a tough thing to pull off, so congratulations are in order!
