Unsolicited aid from a stranger was not what Zayne expected when a mystery man found him. Despite the comforting physical reaction to Jagger, Zayne couldn’t afford to trust. His brother’s life depended on him. What else could he do but run? With time running out, desperation drove Zayne back to ask Jagger for assistance to save his career, possibly his life and his brother’s. Master Squire Reviews
I was meandering along in this book and enjoying the sexual tension buildup quite a lot. By about 70% I was chomping at the bit to see some action. But when the action finally happened, it left a lot to the imagination. MC Jagger (yes Jagger, really) is a Dom and unhappy with his usual subs. MC Zayne in not into the BDSM lifestyle but feels drawn to Jagger and wants to submit to him. When they do finally consummate their relationship, during the final scene in the book BTW, it is just too whip me, beat me, make me feel cheap for my taste. The emotion and passion didn't live up to the delicious sexual tension preceding it.So, not my favorite M/M BDSM tale, but not awful either. Recommended for the hardcore M/M BDSMers only.
Master Squire is the sixth book in the Masters of Tabu series by Gray Dixon. While this book is part of a series, it can be read and enjoyed as a standalone novel.Jagger is the security manager at Club Tabu. He is continually frustrated at his job because his partners do not listen to him. Jagger has a volatile temper with is pushed to the limits when the other do not listen to him. Jagger also struggles with PTSD from his time in the military.Zayne is a doctor who is in over his head. He keeps baling out his brother from trouble and the latest problem his brother gets involved in is no different. Zayne is slow to trust anyone because is all the problems his brother has landed him in. However, Zayne is attracted to Jagger and when they meet again wants to get to know him.The connection between Zayne and Jagger is intense. Jagger is attracted to Zayne and wants to help him even as he does not know the reason Zayne is on the run. The sex scenes were scorching. I found this book well written with a realistic plot. The main characters and the secondary characters were fascinating. While the ending was a little predictable, this story has twists and turns that keep you interested all the way through. I had a hard time putting this book down. Overall, this was a very captivating book and I hope to see these characters again in the future. Reviewed by Victoria for Cocktails and Books
Gray Dixon can master my taboo anytime! This series will hook you and thrust you screaming with delight into the erotic world of Club Tabu. Don't hesitate. Go! The Masters of Tabu Series is a must read for any fan of erotic BDSM romance who is looking for scintillating stories, well-drawn characters, excellent writing and passion, passion, passion. Marcus, Mitchell, Jared, Shane, Brock and Jagger are hotter than the hinges on the gates of hell, y'all. I've read them all. Master Prince and Master Squire are my favs - OMG, Jagger! The Masters of Tabu gave this reader a phenomenal pleasure ride and this writer an inspiration for her own work.
Independent reviewer for Paranormal Romance and Authors That Rock.I do (and will openly admit) love a good male/male romance that has characters that are damaged, either physically, emotinally or mentally. I do love a good BDSM book. When those elements come together, its fairly certain, all my buttons will be pushed and pressed and I have a five star read on my hands. This did not disappoint!Jagger is security manager for Club Tabu, and he is having a bad day. In a foul mood, he finds Zayne in the back alley, all beaten and bloody, so what does he do?? Takes Zayne home. WHY?? He doesn't know, not really, but maybe, just maybe he can save Zayne,Zayne needs help to save his brother, he has already taken one beating, and prefers not to have another, but he doesn't want to ask for help. Until Jagger kisses him. Then all bets are off and Zayne needs Jagger more than he needs to breathe. What particularly pushed all my buttons was the slow build. Its well over 3/4 of the way through before Jagger and Zayne actually get their act together and do something about the attraction, but Jag was waiting for Zayne. Jag knew who he was and what he wanted, but he needed Zayne to be sure he wanted what Jag had to give. This is book 6 in this series and I have not read any of the others. I did not feel I missed anything, but for me, there were little hints dropped from previous books that I now need to go back and read at some point. Just for me, not because I didn't get it, or I felt I was missing information, just because I want to and I can. Another 5 books added to my ever growing wish list!5 full stars**same worded review appears on Goodreads, Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.com**
