After reading the first book, This Crazy Love, I was excited to continue the story in This Crazy Heart. I enjoyed the story. I cried with them, and exalted with them at the triumphs. My only complaint, I want to know what the letter says! ::sighs:: I guess I'll have to wait for the next book to find out.It is a well-written story and I recommend it for anyone who enjoys a good romance.

Blissful torture = cliffhanger….This full-length novel is the second in the Crazy Mountain series and continues to focus on Fiona Harper and Austin Green. Be warned, as I found out at the end when I was fruitlessly swiping for the next page, the story continues to the next in the series. Not a jaw-dropping cliffhanger but I wasn’t expecting that abrupt ending. I knew I would be reading any and all books in the series but this ending will have me stalking the shelves for sure!If you haven’t read book one in this series, you will definitely want to before tackling this intense follow-up story. Fiona had deliberately avoided returning home for years after being the victim of a vicious attack that almost ended her life. Suffering from severe post-traumatic stress, she reluctantly returned last summer to help at the family dude ranch when her sister was injured. Who knew while facing her demons, Fiona would meet and fall in love with Austin, her soulmate. Continuing on where the first book left off, it is now another year later and a new guest season at the Lazy D Dude Ranch. Returning to the ranch with Austin, Fiona is determined to continue work begun with her therapist by attempting some hands on therapy at the site of the attack. Clinging to Austin as the only thing keeping her sane and grounded, she is determined to overcome the past that continues to haunt her. Would she finally be free of the nightmares that have plagued her for years or would it be too much for her, and for Austin, to take?I loved returning to the ranch with Fiona and Austin and things continue to be anything but serene. Not only are the therapy sessions causing an upheaval for them, and those around them, but family is taking the center stage in the drama department as well. Adam, Austin’s brother, is going through his own turmoil including a debilitating illness while their half-sister also finds her way to the dude ranch. Adding a spoiled teenager to the mix is always an opportunity for fireworks. Family is very much the heart of this story, as in the first, and the author brings each person’s voice and personality ably to the mix. I loved the addition to Fiona’s extended family and have fallen in love with yet more ranch dwellers. While I did find some of the scenes seemed a bit repetitive, the story continues to grip me and makes this series a recommended read. I will definitely be adding these books to my re-read shelf as I eagerly await the next in the series!

I was gifted this copy direct from the author, and I thank Ms Pratt for that. This is book two, I strongly suggest you read book one, This Crazy Love, first. You won't get the full picture, how Fiona suffered when first returning to the ranch from this book. This book is the summer after the first one, and Fiona and Austin are getting along just fine. Fiona's therapist suggests some fairly radical therapy to help her over come her fear of the ranch, the bridge and the corrals beyond. It means returning to the ranch for the summer. Austin is with her every step of the way, but when he gets a call to say his twin brother, Adam, was in the ICU with blood poisoning, both Fiona and Austin begin to unravel again.I just need to clear one thing up, from my review of book one. After speaking with the author, I now fully understand the cover picture better! A nekkid man on the front wouldn't have worked here.Fiona wants to be free, free of the pain of that awful day she turned 18. The only place she can do it is at the scene, on the ranch, so she and Austin set off, knowing full well what lays ahead. Fiona is already stronger, physically and emotionally, but even just getting past the gate floors her again. We feel for her, here, how much she wants to be free, to overcome her crippling fear, not only of the ranch, but of Austin leaving her.Austin is with Fiona every step of the way, and together, that T word, they work hard. Adam's illness knocks Austin for six, and he struggles to deal with his own problems, as well as Fiona's issues (again, the book's words, not mine!)I'd like to commend Pratt again on her research into post traumatic stress, and all that it entails. The recovery time of Fiona is long, so very long, and its all laid out for you, you feel every painful step, and huge obstacle overcome, every single time she throws up and blacks out. You also feel Austin, when he starts to unravel, starts to question everything and when he runs.I cried alot in this book, so I suggest you read with a box of tissues. I hope, with all my heart, that book three is a nice, easy read, but knowing these two, its not gonna be. Its gonna be painful, and soul searching, and tearful. We get some Adam too. He will get his own trilogy, but some of that overlaps here. And I can't wait to read it!5 full stars.**same worded review appears on Goodreads, Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk**

Austin Green is willing to do anything to prove to Fiona Harper that she is it for him. She constantly feels that soon Austin is going to get tired of her constant struggle and leave her. She doesn’t believe that she would survive that. Austin feels like as soon as Fiona makes peace with her struggles she won’t need him any longer and he couldn’t make it through life without her. They both have the same fear but neither know how to convince the other that they aren’t going anywhere.Fiona’s therapist feels that it will be good for her to go back to Montana and to her sister’s Dude Ranch to make further progress with her struggles. Fiona is much better than she was the previous summer but she still have such a hard time getting through the gate. But she is able to get further and better each day because she has Austin by her side. When Austin’s twin brother falls ill, Fiona fears that Austin will have to leave and she isn’t sure she can handle the long days and nights without him there to run to.Austin and Fiona both have such deep issues that they both need to resolve in order to make their relationship work. Austin knows all about Fiona’s problems but Fiona doesn’t understand Austin’s, partly because he doesn’t understand it himself. Austin ends up pushing Fiona away by accident because he can’t make sense of what he is feeling deep inside his heart.I felt so bad for Fiona during this book because she was constantly worried about all the “what ifs” life might throw at her and Austin. I really wanted her to stop worry about what might happen in life and just start loving and living the moments in the present. I was so proud of Austin and his strength to stand by Fiona’s side during all her struggles and nightmares. He is the rock that she so desperately needed.Just when Fiona and Austin think they have life under control, Austin receives a letter that completely turns their lives upside down. Once again, Austin chooses to shut Fiona out and she assumes the worst. I will most definitely be on the edge of my seat waiting for the next book to see if Austin and Fiona can find their way to the happiness and peace they so desperately deserve.

The story continues of Fiona and Austin.Fiona and Austin have spent the winter months getting to know each other better in the Washington State. After speaking with her therapist Fiona agrees to intense therapy and agrees to go back to the ranch as long as Austin goes with her as she has found a rock in Austin and clings onto her rock tightly.Fiona is finally starting to pick up the pieces of her life with the help of family and the love she and Austin have for one another. In return Austin found love in Fiona he never thought was possible but as we the readers of the first book nothing goes smoothly for these two. Austin is put into a difficult situation when Adam (Austin's twin brother) ends up seriously ill in hospital fighting for his life Austin feels between the two. This leads him to pushing and distancing himself from everyone including Fiona. And struggling with not only his problems but Fionas too.Adam does recover so we get to read more about Adam :-)You feel for Fiona and just want to reach out and hug her. She is crippled by her fears and that Austin will leave her.I won't deny that I had a little cry whilst reading this book and even had a lump in my throat a few times.I cannot wait to read book 3 of these books

Spectacular! Book 2 does not disappoint!!! In book 2 of the Crazy Mountain Series, we return to the Lazy D Dude Ranch Montana the following summer. Fiona Harper has her demons, and with the help of Austin Green and her therapist, she is working hard to put those demons to rest. With infinite patience, Austin is Fiona’s rock, but she fears that the struggles with her past will drive Austin away. While at the ranch, Austin’s brother, Adam, falls ill hundreds of miles away, and Austin struggles with whether he should go to his brother or stay with Fiona, causing him to feel overwhelmed and withdrawn. Will their love be able to survive life’s turmoil?S. H. Pratt does an amazing job at dealing with the sensitive issues of PTSD as we experience Fiona’s pain, terror and anguish. It’s obvious she’s done her homework in this area, and it makes for an intense, heart-wrenching, but fantastic read. And the love Fiona and Austin share is one that nearly everyone hopes to experience in their life. Excellent, highly-recommended series!

This Crazy Heart is right! I fell in love with Austin and Fiona in book one. I found myself rooting for them and cheering them on with each issue they overcame. I was given an advanced copy from the author for an honest review.Fiona is a true survivor and with the help and support of her family and Austin she's overcoming all of her issues and the pain generated from them. Austin is Fi's rock and together they can overcome anything. Austin has his own issues and in true man form, he keeps them to himself so he doesn't put more stress on Fi. Little does he know, its having the opposite effect. This series is heartbreaking and shows what you can overcome with a lot of patience and love. There are so many new characters in this book and I actually screamed (scared the crap out of my dogs) NOOOOO!!!!!! at the end. SH Pratt has a way of pulling emotions from you that you didn't know you had. I highly recommend this series to anyone who loves strong characters who are willing to put family and love ahead of anything and stop at nothing to overcome their fears.

This an amazing story about overcoming your demons. Her approach is so well written and thought out that you actually feel like you are part of the story line. While reading Fi and Austin's story I laughed and cried, screamed and wanted to throw my device, and finally wanted to give her a standing ovation. Fi and Austin are the perfect couple and make you want to believe in love again. They truly are a love that will last a lifetime and beyond. They have many ups and downs throughout the book and a lot to overcome on both sides. Is it hard? Yea but aren't all relationships?Thank you for the opportunity to read your work. Can not wait for book 3.

A roller coaster ride of a read. There were times while I was reading that I had to put it down and walk away. Austin and Fiona are working on demons from their pasts. This book shows how a past experience can haunt you for your life. I was an emotional wreck reading, I had to wipe my eyes a few times. My heart hurt for the pain that Fiona went through. I love Fiona and Austin, I cannot wait to see how their story ends.

Loved this book so much!! It takes place at the ranch the following summer. We learn about Fiona’s struggles with facing her demons and becoming stronger and stronger. She is heartbreakingly bad ass, even in sorrow and with her fragility. She’s so human and I love her for it. Austin is her rock as usual, but we see him work through some tough stuff as well and be less than perfect, but really what human is perfect? It’s refreshing to see him in his own struggles and his love for Fi never wavers. I love them together and loved seeing their relationship continue to evolve. It was also so endearing seeing Dean and Bri’s changes in this book. Loved every minute of it. I devoured this book and can’t wait to see what happens next. Pratt is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors!

This book was intense, it had me laughing one minute and crying the next. In this book Fiona and Austin are back on the ranch as part of Fiona's therapy to conquer her demons. I loved the new addition to Briana and Dean's family. I can't wait to read the next book of this series and find out more about Angie, Adam and to find out what's Austin big secret.

This Crazy Heart heart is book 2 in Austin and Fiona's story and I am so grateful we get to share even more of these characters in this installment. While This Crazy Love introduced us to the Green twins, Austin and Adam, as well as best friends Fiona and Angie This Crazy Heart give us a deeper glimpse into their relationships and struggles to regain the lives they only dream about.Throughout this book, with the help of Austin, Fiona continues to battle the demons she only began to fight in the first book. All the while Austin has been battling his own fears for Fiona's well being, as well as worrying about his twin brother, Adam's sudden health crisis. Torn between loyalties for the two people he loves most in the world proves to be an emotionally exhausting situation for Austin.I really enjoyed taking this journey with Austin and Fiona and highly recommend this series!

I received this book from the author for an honest review. I'm not sure why it took me over a month to read this because I loved it. I love Austin and Fiona as a couple and I expected a happily ever after. What I actually got was a cliffhanger! No no. I need to know they're okay! There are a few nit picky things here and there that bugged me but nothing bad enough to mention. I really enjoy this series and I'm looking forward to the next one.
