Another one hit out of the park by Collette West! I’ve kept up with her books since Night Games, her first New York Kings release, and have to say the stories just keep getting better. Perfect Game was amazing from beginning to end. I was busy when I first started reading it and had to keep putting it down. That was driving me nuts because I was really caught up in the story and hated having to wait to read more. I can’t say enough how much I LOVED this book! LOVED Scott! He is solidly at the top of my list of favorite New York Kings players!!Deliciously hot and sexy SCOTT might have started off as a notorious bad boy, but right away CW lets you in on the real Scott Harper. He was a man with solid integrity. He might not have always made the best decisions, but he owned them. He took responsibility for his actions and didn’t try to blame others. In the first chapter I could tell at heart he was a good man and I was 100% Team Scott. I liked how sweet he was and how he made the extra effort to show Carrie, in words and deed, how serious he was about her. He knew his reputation and how it could effect their relationship if he didn’t keep her feeling secure about his devotion to her. LOVED that. I felt his character was well developed and consistent in his actions. Was he perfect, of course not, but he wised up really fast when he made mistakes and did what he had to do to keep his girl! And speaking of knowing what to do to keep his girl, the man had moves!! Their times in the bedroom, etc, were well written, steamy and descriptive without being overly graphic, yet important to have been there as much as they were since sex is portrayed as an integral part of Scott’s character.I really liked CARRIE too. I admired her as a heroine. She might have been wealthy and grown up with privilege, but she was very real, down to earth and definitely relatable. I admittedly have similar body type issues as her and felt that Collette nailed the conflicting emotions of wanting to be comfortable in your own skin and accept the body God gave you, and yet resenting the unwanted and many times inappropriate reactions you get from men and from women, AND she had to do this in the public eye. I felt the way she was written Carrie handled this with grace and style. I also liked how much she believed in Scott and didn’t let his reputation get in the way of how she saw him, that she gave him the benefit of the doubt and went to him directly when she was feeling insecure. I also liked that right from the beginning, despite her intense attraction to Scott, she saw right through him and didn’t put up with any crap. She made him walk the line and prove himself to her. And that when he did, she stood by him regardless of pressure from her family. To me, Perfect Game was all about the romance between Scott and Carrie, with a strong parallel baseball story. It was about Scott falling hard for the beautiful girl who was like none he’d ever know before and being man enough not to run away from his feelings like many “players” would do. I’ll admit it, Scott stole my heart in the first chapters and pretty much had me swooning throughout the whole story. Definitely book boyfriend material. And I really liked the bat kissing, it was fun and illustrated how superstitious athletes can be in a lighthearted way. Along with pursuing Carrie, Scott’s in pursuit of a major record, which could have felt contrived, but didn’t because of how well it was written. Instead it added to the substance of the story, as long as the reader keeps in mind this is a work of fiction.Overall, I love Collette’s writing style. Loved the alternating POV’s. It was smooth and easy to read, easy to get caught up in and difficult to put down. The pacing of the story was perfect and flows well. I felt it was well developed and the organization very interesting. Basically, it was wonderful. Just as it is. I have no hesitation giving it a ☆☆☆☆☆ star rating! Heck, I wanted to start back at the beginning and read it again as soon as I finished it the first time.~Complimentary copy received in exchange for a honest review.

Tiffany's Review: I love baseball so this was the "perfect" book for the lady baseball fan! The reader gets a glimpse into the life of a Major League Baseball family. Carrie is the granddaughter of the owner of the New York kings. She has grown up around the game and knows that is where her passion lies. However, she didn't expect to fall in love with one of the most popular players...Scott. Scott's character is exactly the way I pictured a major league "player"! Scott finds himself not being able to resist the charm of Carrie! How will their love affair affect their careers?! What will Carrie's family say about her dating a player?! Lots of good scandals in this book! I give the Perfect Game 4 stars!

I think Collette West gets better and better with each book she makes for the New York Kings. Just as the story gets complicated and steamier – the mystery is finally getting solve, or so we think…Nevertheless, I was looking forward for both Drake and Scott’s book, and having Scott first was just awesome. This man’s whoring days are over when, thanks to a hacker, naked selfies are up in the open, making a new scandal for the New York Kings. He might have a grand time taking those photos, but he wasn’t that prepared for the scrutiny that goes along with it.Scott has always been charming, he might have been a womanizer, but you can’t help but to swoon over him. Knowing Scott in this book and getting inside his head makes you just love him even more. I love the fact that he was willing to try monogamy and was brave enough to face the consequences of it. He faced everything head-on even if it was killing him and a little bit detrimental to his career. I was like: YOU ARE SO BRAVE!!!!Carrie Mckenzie is just as lovable. She has some secrets that I didn’t see coming, some things that caught both me and Scott off-guard. It may have caused some problems – and somehow I wished she just told him that. Nevertheless, she’s the new It-Girl being the Kings’ sexy clubhouse reporter. She’s lucky enough to get an exclusive interview with Scott to get his side of the scandal. Of course, prior to this, they already had that one-time thing going on between them. Problem is: Scott is not into relationships and there is no way in hell Carrie is going to date one of the Kings. But the chemistry was all too powerful to ignore. And when Scott shows a different side of him, it makes everything difficult for Carrie to forget him. When his teammates decided on the fate of their so-called relationship and asked her to hold out for a while, the anticipation and the sexual tension just went over the charts – but then it what made me like Scott even more. He wanted her, and despite the fact that he was a very active, virile male – he waited. OMG. He waited. He did the celibacy thing – and it was just so worth it.Lemme see: there were bat-kissing, family disputes, great siblings, awesome trouble-causing teammates, steamy scenes, some of the mystery being solve and one heck of a romance that beat all the odds being thrown at them and will simply melt your hearts.Collette made sure of that – she got me sticking through the pages, unable to tear away myself from reading it. Scott held my heart right from the start. Will it be Drake next? I meant to have this review up MONTHS ago, but I got distracted with my online classes, and didn't end up posting it, so finally, here is my review for Perfect Game! :DI've been a big fan of Collette West's sports romances ever since I read Night Games and Game Changer, and with each book, I fall more and more in love with the New York Kings! Just please, don't ask me to choose a favourite because I don't think I can! :PI was soooooo excited to read Perfect Game, so when Collette West asked me to beta read it, I jumped at the chance!!!! I absolutely loved every single moment of it during the beta read, and when I reread it after its release, I loved it even more! ;DOne of the things that I love most about the New York Kings, apart from the sexy athletes, is how realistic the relationships are. They're not perfect, but they aren't all dramatic like a soap opera either. They're real, they take work, and the characters learn to communicate and be together. Scott and Carrie were an amazing couple! Scott is pretty much the biggest player...and by player, I mean off the field, out of all of the New York Kings, so it was fantastic to see him settle down! ;)I loved seeing Scott and Carrie both grow and challenge themselves, but I really, really loved them together! They have AMAZING chemistry, and their banter was always hilarious! They were also on fire...and couldn't keep away from each other, which I loved! :D I also just loved seeing both Scott and Carrie let themselves take a chance on the amazing relationship that they could have...especially Scott! It was great to see a sexy player like him meet his match. ;DI also really loved how in Perfect Game, we saw a bit of the behind-the-scenes stuff for the New York Kings's office. It was interesting seeing the owner, manager, and team dynamics, and I loved seeing Scott and Carrie figure out how to make their relationship work. I also loved both Carrie's sister, Alex, and Scott's brother, Bob, too. And as always, it was great seeing the friendships between the team members and their significant others. I'm always a fan of seeing the couples from the other books pop up!Overall, I absolutely loved Perfect Game! It was sexy, funny, and a wonderful story! If you like sports romances or even just regular contemporary romances, I think you'll love this one!! :DYou can also find my review on my blog, here:

**You can see this full review and more at Book Briefs:**Perfect Game is the fourth book in the Adult sports romance series, Night Games. The series each focuses on a different player on the baseball team, the New York Kings. Perfect Game focuses on Scott, who is a notorious womanizer. At this point, I am thinking that practically all the New York Kings are. The books are each complete standalones, but I will warn you that this one picks up right in the middle of a scene so it feels like you are initially missing something, but you aren't. That is just the way the book starts, but don't worry, once you get past those first two scenes everything starts to make sense and you get backstory. As a side note Perfect Game and the whole series is really an adult sports romance series, but it straddles the line between New Adult and adult because of the age of a few of the characters. What I liked about Scott's story was that it felt very natural. Scott doesn't do commitment for his own reasons and while he stuck by that for a while he still couldn't get Carrie out of his head, so they kept hanging out. The funny thing to me was that Scott still felt like he wasn't committing when it was clear as day that he was. But anyway, the story is not without its ups and downs and roadblocks for the maybe happy pair. But throughout it all Carrie and Scott were a hoot and a half. I really loved their chemistry and their back and forth biting banter and bickering. They sure could keep each other on their toes. But they were sweet too. One of my favorite scenes was when Scott and Carrie were out at their first dinner and the waitress makes some kind of comment about Carrie getting a healthier dinner, and boy did she put her in her place. And Scott totally backed her up and then Carrie thanked him for having her back. I don't know why but I just thought that moment was great.I love the winning formula that Collette West has with this series. The New York Kings are a great group of well developed (heh-heh) guys and each one of their stories is wonderful. I think Collette West really captures the world-wind universe of sports and sports players perfectly. This book is another home run in the series. (Sorry, I couldn't resist.)This review was originally posted on Book Briefs

Boy did Scott Harper really get himself into a mess. I've met Harper in previous books featuring members of the fictional New York Kings, and while he was eye candy, I had no idea he'd be such a huge catalyst for changes at the Kings. The story started off a little oddly but I was hooked by the end of the book.Initially when I started reading I felt as if there was some back story to how Scott and Carrie met that I was missing. As the story continued, the first 30-40% really seemed to drag. I wasn't sure Scott and Carrie's relationship was really leading anywhere besides Scott trying to get her into bed and match Joe DiMaggio's hit record. I was seriously thinking of not finishing this book, but then Carrie took Scott home to meet her parents and all of a sudden the book was interesting again. Thankfully the pace picked up and I was hooked to all of the drama going on in the lives of Scott and Carrie, and the Kings team as a whole.I liked Scott. He might be the eye candy of the team and nailed some leading women, but he was all in with Carrie. I think the fact this book was dual point of view went a long way to making him likable. It also helped that I loved how he was with his family. I also liked Carrie. I liked how she was willing to help Scott repair his tarnished image even as she didn't like the image it was giving her. I also shared her concerns about how serious others took her and her career. By the way, the nickname Scott gave Carrie was totally adorable. It was wonderful seeing characters I'd read about before, especially Jilly. This book also gave me hope the undisputed jerk of the team, Drake, might on day redeem himself. As it is, Jake another on the player gave us a little insight into his past. I also loved seeing the strong female characters in this book. Another aspect of the book I enjoyed was the involvement of Scott's family. The surprising relationship that developed between Bob, Scott's brother, and Alex, Carrie's sister, was wonderful to read and it uplifted my spirits when it felt like everything else was going wrong for the Harper and McKenzie families.I'm hoping Collette West will continue this series. I'm hoping to see Drake reform and perhaps have Jake meet a nice girl. These New York King characters are such a wonderful tight knit family for the most part, and I love reading about them. I'm looking forward to seeing how I'll be surprised in the next book.

**I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.**I love this series. Being a HUGE baseball fan this series is right up my alley. Ms. West has an amazing way to pull you into the story going into perfect baseball details. Perfect Game is by far the best read in the series. So many elements brought this one together. Scott and Carrie, Alex and Bobby, Bobby's story alone is heartbreaking and lets not forget all the drama surrounding the Kings.Scott Harper has to be one of my favorites. He is the true meaning of a bad boy. He's a mega star on the field and a ladies man in the bedroom. His being gorgeous doesn't hurt to draw all the ladies to him. When someone hacks his phone posting all his private naked photos of both him and all his celebrity hook ups. The scandal brings the Kings and Scott under unneeded stress."Sorry, sweetheart, but you're not gonna change me. It's no secret that I'm a love-'em-and-leave-'em kinda guy. It's just how I operate."Carrie McKenzie is the clubhouse reporter for the Kings. Carrie's not blind to how good looking Scott really is and after he showers a teammate with Gatorade during a post game interview getting Carrie soaked in the process, Carrie falls to his charming ways. After their night together will there be a repeat? Can she give it all up and tame the bad boy? Can he turn into a one woman man for her? This is one of those reads I don't ever want to end. I love Bobby's story and hope we get to see more of him in future books. March was a great release time on this one. I happened to be reading this while watching Grapefruit league games making this a perfect companion seeing as Perfect Game starts during the Kings Spring training.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.Unusually for me, I had not read the previous books in the series, but I intend to rectify that situation as soon as I have time. It was a brilliant read as a standalone, but I have no doubt that I missed nuance due to having no back stories for the characters. Oh well, another treat to come reading them in order! Sports romances are a huge hit with me, because they give context to the storyline, but are generally not too tense in a life and death sense. There are also familiar story lines, which I enjoy, although new twists are always welcome. Here we get to meet a man who has surely experienced one of the most embarrassing revelations that any man can face. Even if proud of his body, it being made public in its full glory has to play on his mind. That Carrie causes him to re-evaluated his position on relationships at the same time, has to affect his thinking. Fun, hot and entertaining, their relationship unfolds before our eyes. Mine could not help reading till they ached, and then some more. Definitely make sure you have a clear run at this novel; snacks and drinks by your chair; phone turned off etc. because you will want to keep reading ... just one more chapter, late into the night!

Scott: seemingly unapologetic for his sexcapades, doesn't do relationships, that is until he caught the perfect girl, now he is scared to reach for it.Carrie: Strong minded, career woman, lusted often after Scott, she has secretsThe Perfect Game is an emotional rollercoaster ride of anger, lust, and love. The writing is engrossing and kept me turning the pages hoping for some good outcomes and happy moments. The way Collette West wrote the relationship between Scott the playboy baseball player in trouble for having his phone hacked, privacy invaded and pictures of his junk with a few starlets posted all over the internet and Carrie the strong minded clubhouse reporter who is trying to make Scott look good again is pretty ingenious. These two couldn't be worse for each other yet they fit together when they stop fighting like puzzle pieces. Carrie has a remarked lack of faith and Scott just doesn't know how to proceed in creating a relationship. Not to mention all the obstacles in their paths trying to keep them apart. This was an entertaining read, one I felt was fresh and new. The characters were a bit too emotional for my taste, but they were still fun to read. The heat in the book was pretty hot. This is a book you root for the characters to win and want to smack them when they are being stupid. Great fun.

See more of my reviews on my blog Thoughts At One In The Morning. My Thoughts:I've been wanting to read this series for awhile, so when the chance came to read Perfect Game, I sorta jumped on it. I enjoy books like this with the guy who learns what he really wants in life is something real rather than fleeting. And this one was definitely enjoyed! The way everything started was after their first meeting, so we didn't even get to experience all of that buildup, but we did see the aftermath. Scott and Carrie are stuck together, so to say, and they continue to be around each other for awhile. So it doesn't take long for them to realize there's something more than just a one night thing for the two of them. It's not easy, though, because there are some outside factors that can jeopardize their relationship, and Scott's place on the team. But they're not about to let it happen.Perfect Game was an enjoyable read. I liked seeing the relationship throughout the book, not that it was full of hook ups and misunderstandings--it was a genuine relationship with some outside factors causing a few ups and downs. Scott and Carrie grow individually and together throughout. It was definitely a worthwhile story and I can't wait to check out more by Collette West!My Rating: Very Good

I love a book with sports in it. These was my first time reading from this author and I will be checking her other books. Carrie lived and breathed Baseball. When she lands a Jon as Club Reporter for the New York King's that's her this is what she has wanted. Scott Harper is the sexy, bad boy of the team, but he is one of the Best hitters and First Baseman for the Kings. He is also known as the Love 'em and Leave 'em kind of guy. A big scandal hit the internet involving Scott and his Lady loves. Carrie doesn't want to be just another hook up to Scott, but the Chemistry between them is to string and powerful. Scott is headed for a once in a lifetime love ( one he wasn't looking for but found him ) with Carrie. When Scott finds out who Carrie's family are it puts a glitch in their relationship, but Carrie doesn't know to what length the men in her family will go to tear them apart. Can Scott over look what they do to his career, will it break them apart. Will Carrie stand by her man when he is across the US and trust him with the kind of pass he has. A must read.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads. One of the best books I've read in a few weeks. I love a good sports romance with a guy that can be redeemed. In this case Scott Harper is that guy. Known for his on the field plays and his off the field antics, it all comes to a head during the off season when his personal cell phone is hacked and his very private selfies are leaked to the public. Carrie McKenzie is the new clubhouse reporter with the NY Kings and she knows that the only way to prove herself in the boys club is to keep it professional, while conducting her interviews in 5 inch f**k me heels. But there is something about the bad boy that calls to her and she to him.Even knowing that their attraction could get them both fired or traded, they are willing to fan the flames to see how hot they will burn.~~Wicked Reads Review Team~~

Scott Harper has some fences to mend and a reputation that has just swan dived right down the pan – because when his phone is hacked and his none too discrete selfies end up going viral on the internet it isn’t just his personal parts that are the talk of the town it is those of the ladies that are accompanying him. Never one to play the PR game, he has managed to ride out much of the storm without having to deal with the press directly but what this die hard commitment phobe doesn’t know, is that the press – or one particular member of the press is just about to rock his world and he ain’t going to be able to do a damn thing about it because the inimitable Scott Harper may be the sexy face of the New York Kings and this seriously handsome man may be used to his love them and leave them attitude but one look at the new club reporter and he can do no more than wave all of that goodbye… because this first baseman is smitten!Carrie McKenzie is the club reporter in question and having been surrounded by baseball all her life, she has just landed her perfect job – and all on her own merit. It is not until much later on that we are enlighten as to why that plays such an important role. The attraction between them is positively feral but Carrie is not prepared to be another in the exceedingly long line of women that have made it into Scott Harper’s bed, and because of that Scott is facing a reality that he had never considered before – monogamy.I loved Scott, yes he has played the field in more ways than one but I could see his real desire to have a full on relationship with Carrie was important to him, he was sizzling hot in the sack but Carrie was more than his match – knowing just what buttons to push to make this horny alpha male, purr- you go girl!!The banter between the two of them was just fabulous – they made me smile and brightened my day – I loved the fact that their connection was just so real - they faced their issues with positivity and determination and bound to each other with the knowledge that despite the past – what they had was worth the fight because it was the real McCoy.It was good to catch up with the rest of the guys that I had come to love and be invested in from the previous two books – I also loved that Gayle was prominent – one kick ass woman if ever there was one. I really liked hearing more about how Jilly is getting on and was pleased that he was on the way back to the team but just when I thought that the team were settled and the situation between Carrie and Scott was doing fine, family had to go and get involved and they are faced with a major problem – Scott is traded to the east coast in a bid to keep the two of the apart. Can Carrie forgive those responsible for meddling in her life and moreover will Scott forgive the fact that while he is in the best form of his life, his career has just taken a hit because of nothing more than who he is dating. I was convinced that they would be able to work it out – I just wanted it to be on their own terms and not dictated to them – I loved the details that the author gave me into the workings of the team – but I found the disregard that the owners and team principles had for the guys and their loved ones hard to fathom. Professional sport. Wow! Scott’s family make an appearance in this book as does Carrie’s- especially his brother Bobby and her sister Alex – and I have to say way to go guys! The story was full of conspiracy and subterfuge, beleaguered family dynamics, backstabbing and deceit and that was just Carrie’s mob! It was a beautifully descriptive tale of love, of getting your girl and doing what it takes to keep her. It was about proving that sometimes it takes the bigger man to see that it is the small things that really matter and having the balls to fight for just that, not what you want but what you need.Scott needed Carrie more than he needed the record that he was batting for but when the end game arrived, I have to say he played the Perfect Game. This is a series about a sport I previously have known nothing about but I am addicted, I cannot wait to see what happens next with the guys, I mean just what is Drake up too?

Review originally posted at Ramblings From This ChickPerfect Game is the newest New York Kings book by Collette West. Each one of these books can be read as a standalone, but I would recommend reading these in order if you can as the characters are interconnected and some things will be spoiled by reading them out of order. I was really looking forward to Scott and Carrie's story, and though I was frustrated with these two at times I really ended up enjoying their story. Scott Harper is the first baseman for the New York Kings. He is known for being a player both on and off the field. When his phone is hacked and nude pictures of him and several different girls are released to the public, it just makes his reputation worse. Carrie McKenzie has always been known as the fat chick, but after slimming down and winning the job as the clubhouse reporter for the Kings, she scores the sole interview with Scott where he will discuss the nude selfies. Carrie and Scott have been flirting for awhile, but it wasn't until they spent a passionate night together while at spring training that things began to really heat up for these two. Scott isn't used to wanting more than one night with any girl and Carrie doesn't date baseball players, but they soon find themselves with feelings that they didn't plan on and in a very complicated situation. But Carrie also has a secret that could change everything that her and Scott are just starting to build. I really liked Scott and Carrie, but I have to admit at the beginning of this book I really feared I was going to hate them both. They had a lot of chemistry and attraction right off, but they were also very frustrating. Both of them would flip flop constantly on what they wanted, and I got very sick of the back and forth. Luckily, they started to see that there was something special between them and things started to shape up. I liked that Scott was so much more than what you first saw. He was known for being a player and extremely cocky, but underneath he was also really sweet and caring. His feelings for Carrie were genuine, and I liked that he didn't give up on her. Carrie was a little harder for me to like if i'm honest. She was slower to warm up to Scott and I felt like she made a few bad decisions along the way. She knew she wanted him and was attracted to him, but she also let some things happen that I wasn't really a fan of, especially when it came to one of Scott's teammates. But I really liked Scott and Carrie together, and I liked seeing them figure things out. It was sort of them against the world, and they really had so many obstacles that they had to face. I was glad that they had each other to lean on. Overall, this was my favorite book in the series so far. I really liked Scott, and I think part of that is seeing the bad boy player fall hard for his girl. I just loved Scott and thought that despite everything that he had been through that he really just needed to meet the right girl that would change his life. He deserved to be happy, and I thought that Carrie was a great match for him. These two challenged each other and might not have made the most sense on paper, but they were proof to me that opposites can attract. They connected in a way that neither of them had ever done with anyone else before, and I liked seeing how things played out for them. I think that this book was a great addition to the series, but it is also a really great standalone. I would recommend this to contemporary romance fans looking for an entertaining and well written story. If you are a sports romance fan, you will definitely want to check this one out!**ARC Provided by IndieSage PR**

**MEGAN'S REVIEW**DNF- 50%I don't normally go for a sport romance book but every now and then one comes along and it peeks my interest. I decided to give Perfect Game a go and even after the rocky start I was pleased at this pick- in the beginning.... Sadly, I couldn't get past the beginning. It all felt like the beginning to me. Even realizing at 30% I've only read THIRTY PERCENT and nothing truly was happening but the same repetitive conversations. Here is where I started skimming. When I FINALLY got to the half way point having no revelation as to why they liked each other or to why Scott was the way he is except that 'he never speaks of his family'. I realized I was done. "Yeah, we flirted with each other for weeks in spring training, but she'd always put me in my place. I could tell it was only because the other guys were around. She didn't want to get hit on by every horny bastard on the Kings, but I knew she was feeling me. I'd look up and finder her eyes on me whenever I adjusted my cup out on the field." During the first chapter I quickly began to feel like I was missing a major part in Scott and Carrie's um....relations. My favorite part of reading is everything that happens before the clothes are shed. Before strings are attached, before there is no going back. I like the chase, the flirty game. I want to see why they are attracted to each other. It helps me fall. So jumping right in with Scott and Carrie- literally, I mind you, threw me for a second. BUT..... even though I have this complaint what follows in the next few chapters I enjoyed. Their beginning is a different twist on the exact thing I want in reading. Although, missing some key parts in a new relationship and not having that great connection to see the bond strengthen, I liked that they said 'hey, lets give it a go' and they did. You could see the trying and struggle to keep all the influences (good and bad) out of the way; even that being themselves doing it.Carrie and Scott have an impeccable flirty, back and forth banter that is constant but not over board. Even when talking sports, even when Scott hounds her for another go, even when Carries says "no" but can't help but want to. "Hey, Care Bear. Before you go, if you're not gonna come home with me later, then how about a good-luck kiss to start the season?""I don't think so.""God, you're tough. We'll, if you won't kiss me, the how 'bout my bat?""Don't be ridiculous!""No, I'm serious. I want you to send me out on the right note. C'mon. Put your lips on that thick hard wood of mine." It really helps the mood of the book stay light and fun all the while learning that Scott has had a very real life oops happen in his very public life. He is all man, all fun, all the way. He can take, but he can give just as well, and on many aspects. I began to really see him when the lights where on and he was spilling his soul. He was truthful and truth is always the best route to go. Carrie easily sees his walls down also. Along with rascal Jake, at times I wasn't a Carrie fan. Yes, she was a little more forth coming about her family, great, high five Carrie but her decisions were very questionable to me. This book was actually really long. Even with great banter between the two it was all the same sort of dealings over and over. At times I thought I was further ahead but was shocked I hadn't even hit the halfway mark. Not having the how's and why's before the get together hindered my wanting to stick to this story. Not having that didn't help my connection to the characters. When I did finally get to 50% I knew it was over for me.

For someone who doesn’t watch baseball in real life, I am quite obsessed with Collette West’s New York Kings. This series keeps getting better and better, adding overarching themes and story-lines that ties each individual standalone together, creating a series that I cannot seem to get enough of. Perfect Game focuses on Scott Harper, the scandalous and incredibly charismatic first baseman, and Carrie, the King’s house reporter with a little secret. This story has everything I have come to expect from this series. It has drama, action, romance, passion, and fabulous storytelling. The characters draw you into their story and you cannot help but want them to make it. I felt like this story kept me on my toes and I was not sure where things would lead. At the end of the previous book, Scott has an unfortunate streak of bad luck and a scandal that comes out. There also seems to be something brewing with the higher up within the ranks of the Kings causing stress and drama. That premise is woven into an incredible story that is a hot adrenaline pumping tale that gives you exactly what you want and need.Scott is the epitome of hot man candy athlete, one who knows what he wants and never commits too much more than the moment. Yet Carrie seems to be a game changer. He is ready to dive in, even when he learns who she is and where she comes from. I loved watching him develop from a playboy into a man. He learns to embrace all of who he is, accept what has happened, and fight for what he wants. His situation within the team is constantly unstable due to his scandal and the drama brewing with the team in general, causing him to mature and make hard decisions. He is a good player and he is inspired but his desire to be seen as more by the world and Carrie, to be the best man he can be while retaining the charisma and charm that we love so much.Carrie is a strong independent woman who is still learning who she is and what she wants from life. Her past is filled with insecurities about her self-image and self-loathing, something she is learning to overcome. I appreciated that her internal struggles were portrayed in a healthy and realistic way. She continues to grow and find confidence in who she is and how she looks. Her passion causes her some problems when her mouth runs away but overall she was the perfect counterpart to Scott, someone who is opposite of what he has always had and someone who can challenge him to rise to the occasion and be a better man. They fit perfectly!I loved seeing the inner workings of the team again! Being able to see where Grey, Chase, Jilly, Sasha, Gayle, and the whole gang are now and what is happening in their lives. I loved how this book shows you another aspect of the sport: the business and political side. It was fascinating to watch how things work and how decisions are made. Perfect Game is yet another perfect story to add the New York Kings’ collection. I am excited to see who is next! I am hoping for more from Jake and I would love to see something (perhaps a novella) about Bob, Scott’s brother, and Alex, Carrie’s sister! That side story was the perfect addition to push this story over the top for me! If you are a sports romance fan, this is a must read! Fans of this series and Collette West will not be disappointed!

Perfect Game is the fourth book in this series, some would say these books can be read as a stand alone but honestly you will get such a better experience with the series if you read them all. In the following order are the other books in this series: Night Games, Game Changer, and then Game On.This book was one of my favorites in the series and the first one I have given a 5 stars too! Don't worry the other books were 4 star reads for me but something about this one pulled me in more and I have had a hard girl crush on Scott for quite some time so I was super excited when he got his own book. If you love books about baseball, sexy men, lots of drama, and oh yes super hot sexy scenes then you need to get this whole series right away! Collette has a way of writing that has me completely captivated to the point I can't stop thinking about when her next book will come out, or what character on the King's she is going to write about next. Lets be honest she created a whole baseball team of hot sexy men and who wouldn't want to get to know them right! All the female characters in her stories are strong willed and Carrie from this story was by far my favorite of the group.... Sasha was a close second hehehehe. So Divas go out and get this whole series you will not be disappointed I can personally guarantee that because not many series can keep me interested by the fourth book especially when its about different characters but not this one it will keep you wanting and pleading for lots more. Carrie and Scott meet when she takes the job as the new media person for the King's. She takes her job very seriously and tells herself she will not ever date a baseball player again in her life.. she was burned in the past and her families legacy may have something else to do with it... but when she finds herself giving into one night with Scott she will find that she can't resist him even if he is known as the playboy. So one night of passion will turn into so much more but she has a secret that could be a deal breaker no matter if his a play boy or not. Scott has alot to clean up in his life starting with the newest scandal that has followed him.. nude pics of him and the many woman he has been with.. although they should have been secret his phone was hacked and all he can do now is damage control. He finds himself for once in his life connected to a woman on a different level than just the amazing sex they shared one night.. He is going to finally put forth effort with Carrie but in secret... for now. Both have reasons they are holding back, both have skeletons in there closets, both have demons they are fighting every day... but can they be together once and for all... or will there be too many obstacles that stand in the way??? Can the hot first baseman playboy and the goody two shoes reporter with low self esteem finally find away to make a perfect game with there life not just on the field?Go get this book now and pick up the rest of the stories because you don't wanna Miss out and Chase and Greys story, Brooks and Sasha's story, and Jilly and Hailey's story. Oh and wait for it.... Drake's story is coming next and man oh man I can't wait for this one. Thanks for another great book Collette!

As a fan of sports-themed romances I've quickly come to count on Ms. West's baseball series for its perfect balance of love and vividly depicted sports action. Her characters are relatable with journeys to HEA that are richly rewarding. Through each book each ball player has left me with a smile on my face, but from his very first appearance in this series I've been enamored of the sweet playboy with a heart of gold, Scott Harper, like no other. Perfect Game is his turn to step up to the plate and from start to finish it held me captivated.Scott has always been seen as the pretty boy of the team, a player afraid to commit, and on some level that's true. He's a sexy man who's had his fair share of women but he makes no excuses for his actions. He may think himself incapable of relationships but slowly but surely he and sports reporter Carrie start making a connection that surprises both of them. Readers though won't be surprised by the instant and combustible connection between the two of them. From witty banter to steamy sexual interludes their interactions crackle and put a smile on my face. Scott's a man with surprising depth. Far from just a pretty boy he's an amazing athlete seeking to break a record. Through everything he's always been there for his teammates to help them realize true love when it's staring them in the face, which made his journey to HEA all the more entertaining. He never let Carrie doubt his devotion and through every word and deed showed exactly how he felt about her which had me fall even more in love with him.Carrie was a likable and strong-willed heroine dealing with doubts familiar to most women. She too was judged for her looks and was often found lacking. Her rich family also tended to judge her but with Scott she was always made to feel important and cherished. Even as she stuck up for herself, she had Scott there to back her up which made them a formidable and entertaining pair. From start to finish this was an entertaining story with lots of witty and playful banter between Scott and Carrie that was teeming with sexual tension. Love caught both of them off-guard and their battle to keep falling deeper in love made for a fun journey to HEA. There was a nice balance between interactions in and out of the bedroom with each interlude full of sexual intensity. Ms. West also interspersed vividly depicted ball playing that made you feel part of the roaring crowd. Seeing old favorites amongst the players, along with new favorites, reminded me of why I adore this series and gives me even more excitement for the future. These boys of summer are compelling with very unique personalities, and with the next story supposedly about the VERY bad boy Drake, I anticipate this series becoming even more memorable. No matter what though, Scott will always be my favorite. His sweet, sexy, and playful nature puts a smile on my face even now! Those looking for an immensely romantic and fast-paced series of books will be drawn to these boys of summer and now's as good a time as any to jump on this bandwagon.

4.5 * reviewLiving in Ireland pathetically means our men live and breathe rugby and football *yawn* so I most definitely like living vicariously through my books for sports with the New York Kings baseball team being at the top of my list. I was apprehensive about reading Scott Harper's story being that in previous books his character came across as a strutting penis with an ego the size of the Chrysler building and little to no substance upstairs in the brain department, well after having read Perfect Game only two thirds of that judgement was true except Scott Harper is a man with many many layers and a sharp witty intelligence it's just that his lack of making good decisions and life choices causes his personal issues outside of the diamond to take precedence over his superb baseball playing skills. He finally meets his match in ballsy Carrie McKenzie, a lady with voluptuous beauty as well as smarts and an independence that is helping her forge her career as the clubs sports reporter. What begins as a simple release to their sexual tension soon turns in to something deeper and more complicated than either wanted or Scott's commitment-phobic ways knows how to deal with that brings about some fantastic bantering and dialogue between the two protagonists. The only thing that lost the half mark for me in Perfect Game was Scott's attitude at times and how Carrie let him walk over her without much grovelling or apology, for a woman who started out pretty self-confident and sure of herself Scott tended to bring out the simpering weak minded female in her character. The intrigue and drama factor however balanced out my one grievance, with conspiracies, family woes and fraud and trades elevating the story to epic proportions, it literally left me wondering what in the hell was going to happen next, it was a roller-coaster ride with no end in sight and it was brilliant. As always superbly written by Collette with complex and layered characters and a great family of ball players and their better halves to offer counsel and hilarity when needed. I can't wait for the next book in this awesome sports series.

Check out more of my reviews on my blog StarsPerfect game is Collette West’s latest New York Kings novel.I’m a massive fan of this author, my pics even in the selfie photo below. So I jumped at the chance to receive an ARC to read for Gemma Reads Too Much.I liked Jilly, I loved Drake but seriously move over cause Scott Harper is in the house!!!!!!!OMG yes I did just say OMG I LOVE Scott he comes across as such a cocky playboy but if I’m honest that’s all just part of his appeal.Carrie is my favourite female character in this series so far, I found her relatable and endearing. She’s not stick thin, she’s uncomfortable with her body shape and I just loved that she felt so real.Carrie and Scott together we’re so adorable, I rooted for them and I hated every obstacle that stood between them and their happily ever after. This book took a really interesting direction and for me at least it was completely unexpected, you really can’t go wrong with a bit of espionage and backstabbing. This story kept me on my toes, I kept thinking “ok I know what’s going to happen now” and then something else would flip my thoughts on their head.Back to Carrie and Scott the sex was really quite saucy, but at times a little cringe worthy. As much as I love this couple I still can’t find anything even remotely sexy about the phrase “big boy”Drake, Drake, Drake you bad, bad boy when is your book coming??? I absolutely can’t wait to read your story. What the hell is going on with Jake, I honestly don’t remember him being so self righteous or annoying. But God at times I just wanted to reach into the book and slap him round the head!!!This book feels like part of a series, the main characters are great but it’s so nice to find that I’m equally as invested in the periphery characters. This team is a mini family and as the characters from the previous books popped in and out it felt like cousins and siblings nipping round to say hello lol. This is my favourite book of the series so far!!!Perfect Game gets 4.5 stars from me

Perfect Game by Collette West is not the typical book I read, but it was enjoyable all the same. This is a sports romance novel that is heavier on the romance than the sports, which is why it worked for me. I enjoy stories driven by characters and the events that change them. In this case, we follow the lives of Scott Harper and Carrie McKenzie as they share with the reader their romance told through their alternating perspectives.First the romance. Scott and Carrie have a palpable tension but this is not a novel of will they or won’t they. I was never in doubt about them as a couple, though there were times I wished I would have been. A few plot twists arise that threaten to tear the two of them apart, but never really do. In a way that is good, showing a couple who is able to talk through their insecurities and perceptions, though given the type of personalities we are first introduced too, I was surprised that it came so naturally to them. There are also numerous scenes of intimacy, which don’t put me off, but I felt didn’t always add anything to the progression of the story and at times slowed it down.Next the sports. There are a couple of sticking points on this for me. First, Carrie’s lineage being unknown to Scott, who is a longtime and valued player on The Kings, was a bit of a stretch. Her family not wanting him for her after a scandal was not. But there are some random subplot lines that left me hanging and the Bonus Chapter at the end felt odd. The story gets closed out so nicely then this bonus chapter appears and brings up things I didn’t really need to know. This is my personal opinion, mind you.Overall, I was glad I took the time to read this story and get to know these characters. It is full of a good romance, family dynamic, and a thrilling sports event.

Collette West has created this misfit band of brothers that are all passionate about baseball and their women. I cannot get enough of her New York Kings books and I think that Collette's sports romances are some of the best on the market. Her ball players are hilarious and endearing - I have not met a player yet that I didn't enjoy. I honestly wish I could find a New York Kings shirt. I would wear it proudly because I love this team and all the people attached to it. The tough part would be deciding whose number to wear on my back but after reading Perfect Game, I'm pretty sure it would be Scott Harper's.Right from the start, Scott and Carrie's chemistry leaps from the pages in the book. You feel it. Their connection and relationship builds throughout the season as does your affinity for the couple. I truly enjoyed reading their story. It felt like everyone underestimated these two characters. No one expects too much from them - be pretty. Do your job. Know your place on the team.Except neither one wants to accept their position. They both want more and their journey to finding their happily ever after is a bit of a roller coaster ride. But what I had not expected was how the two supported one another. When one had an insecurity or a perceived flaw - the other stepped up and gave more of themselves to be what the other needs. They push each other to be better.Perfect Game is an awesome book. This couple will steal your smiles and ultimately your heart. They are sneaky about it too - you don't know it's gone until it's very much theirs. I loved Scott and Carrie - you should take the time to meet them. You will become a fan, too.

Meet Collette West's most alpha baseball player to date. Prepare your heart and your body because Scott Harper will want it. No. Demand it. Out of Collette West's books, I think Scott has the strongest alphaness to date. I loved the plot! Including the twists and the challenges on Scott and Carrie's blossoming relationship. I always get caught with their sexual bubble that I wanted to be Carrie once in a while. Scott's straight forwardness was one of his qualities that I liked about him. He's so cocky but he knows himself. His confidence maybe considered overconfidence but he backs it up with skills. "When he looks at you, he makes you feel like you're the only woman in the whole wide world. And it doesn't help that he's drop dead gorgeous."Baseball had really been close to my heart ever since I started this series and being able to be at the game through Collette's books has been really amazing I didn't want it to end. Winning, losing the World Series or hitting a streak and even breaking it was very real I felt I was in the stadium with them! " matter what happens, I'm with him and he's with me, and we're going to be together no matter what life throws at us- fastballs or curves."Every single New York Kings book, Collette always up her game. The hotness book after book is reaching the roofs. With Perfect Game, Collette not only satisfied my New York fangirling longingness but intensified my anticipation for the next books to come!

Carrie McKenzie has worked hard to get where she is as the reporter for the New York Kings baseball team, and she isn't about to let her attraction to notorious player Scott Harper mess anything up for her. She finally allows herself one night with Scott while the team is in Panama, but after that night both Carrie and Scott find it difficult to stay away from one another despite the consequences to both of them. Along with the challenges they face as Scott tries to prove to Carrie that he can change his behaviors, they face some serious challenges as the secrets about Carrie's family are revealed. Soon they find themselves fighting some pretty big battles that go beyond the scope of their relationship. I became engaged quickly in the story and found it easy to connect to Carrie. She was fighting to be a professional in a field where she was regularly objectified. In addition, she had to deal with the reality that the man holding her interest was not a good candidate for anything other than a great night in bed. Learning more about the dynamics of Carrie's family, and about Scott's background and struggles helped me connect more to both characters. Their physical chemistry was very hot, and as they connected emotionally as well I was really hoping that they would be able to deal with some of the serious corruption that was interfering with multiple aspects of their lives. I have enjoyed other books by this author in the past, and will continue to read more of her in the future. 3.5 stars*An ARC was provided in exchange for an honest review

This was a book that I enjoyed reading as Carrie and Scott work to overcome their insecurities to be together. The world of competitive sports and baseball don't make it easy for them to do this, especially when the rules say no fraternizing between reporters and players. It becomes even more difficult when the player is a player of women as well and his naked conquests are broadcast for all to see. With someone on the team out to get and ruin his hitting streak, it is difficult to know who to trust.I will say that I did struggle with some of the descriptions of the games and some of the baseball terminology but that is because I know nothing about the game. That being said, the story wrapped around of the world of baseball was enough to keep me hooked and see how their story unfolded.Carrie, in her role as team reporter, is trying to be someone she is not to keep her job and is uncomfortable in that role and somewhat uncomfortable in her own skin. Her sassy, outward persona is hiding insecurities but Scott sees right through this. Scott has been a player, which has come back to haunt him. Most of his actions are down to macho bravado rather than bad behaviour and Carrie sees right through this, but trusting him will not be easy. I loved the verbal sparring and interplay between Carrie and Scott. It was what made this such a great read for me.

Perfect Game was a great light hearted read, the book was long but it was well developed and had a catchy storyline. I thought the main characters were a good match for one another. Scott needed a woman who wasn’t intimidated by his reputation and Carrie was just that woman. The sex scenes were hot, I enjoyed reading about the hook ups ! I must say I liked Scott, he is the reformed manwhore, he wanted to dedicate himself to just Carrie and he made an effort to prove that. “I’m not some romantic sap with stars in my eyes, but she’s making me feel like I am, and it scares the s@@t out of me.” As for Carrie well, I liked her but I think she doubted herself too much, and there was too much of an emphasis put on her being a “voluptuous” woman. I liked the twist that was thrown into this story, when it was revealed who Carrie really was, it took the story in a good, interesting direction and helped to make it the page turner that it was. I enjoyed reading about Bob and Alex and I’d like to see more of their story. 4 stars.

Really loved this book. Scott the manwhore of the New York Kings meets his match in Carrie the new clubhouse reporter. They get together in Panama while Scott is there playing preseason games & Carrie is covering them for the team sport station, but once isn't enough for Scott which is usually his thing. Scott is going through some difficulties though because someone hacked his phone & made nude selfies with his bed mates public. Carrie is dealing with the constant pressure on her from her family & her producers who expect the formerly heavy girl to exploit her ample assets. Scott can't forget Carrie & he decides that he's going to go for seconds. What starts out as lust turns & both Carrie & Scott have a lot to deal with. Scott is trying to redeem himself & Carrie's been with a player before with bad results. Now they have to navigate the turmoil that is thrown at them. Can Carrie change Scott? Will Scott change to keep Carrie in his life? Will the turmoil pull them apart?

I loved Scott and Carrie's story! If you've read the previous books, you know that Scott is a very cocky player off the field, but Carrie is the first woman he actually wants for more than just one night. I wasn't a big fan of his in previous books, he won me over in this book. Carrie is stubborn, and once she makes up her mind about what she wants, nothing will get in her way. Their chemistry is hot as the book begins and gets even better as their relationship progresses. They faced many roadblocks, but they did a great job at finding a way to their happy ending. I loved the behind the scenes baseball business, and there were a few unexpected changes in management - can't wait for the next book in the series! I'd also love to know more about Scott's brother Bob and Carrie's sister Alex.4.5 stars!ARC received in exchange for an honest review.
