Welcome to Erythleh; a world of politics, love, hurt, heartache and war. This is a world where farmers live side-by-side with werewolves, where soldiers fight alongside a cavalry of gryphons, and where your worst enemy might be the person that should be closest to you. Jorrell and Serwren are in love, naively and completely in love; in the way that only teenagers can be. TWelcome to Erythleh; a world of politics, love, hurt, heartache and war. They have their whole lives planned out ahead of them and then fate, and Serwren's jealous brother, conspire to keep them apart. If we're talking steam between Jorrell and Serwren 3.5/5=======================================CHARACTERS:=======================================Hero: Jorrell-grew up with heroine, son to a consul, army leader's son, faced with responsibilities that he doesn't want. A little mischievious in his youth with h but grows into an exemplary soldier and man. Heroine: Serwren-twin sister to Erkas who has been jealous of her friendship/love for Jorrell since childhood. She wants a life in service of her people as a politican but her father a Consul and "First Father" who wants her to get married and have children.========================================TRIGGERS/WARNING: h is raped, incest======================================= Any Triggers/Warnings: it's not very graphic, I think it's very important to the plight of the h and H and their years of separation.=======================================PERSONAL OVERVIEW: =======================================Overall Rating: 5Do You Recommend This Book: yesWill You Re-read This Book: Probably not(I don't do much re reading)Would You Read More Books By This Author: Yes======================================= OVERVIEW: This is one of those great surprises that has been in my tbr for quite some time. This story spans over years where both the h and H go thru so many changes that make them into totally different people from where they start out. I loved the innocence of them as teens and the progression of their futures being decided for them. That brother of Serwren's is pure evil and their father knew it, but couldn't face it. Denial caused him to fail Serwren in the worst way.It also made her learn to rely on herself and protect herself. Jorrell's journey is one of war, with a body full of scars to prove it.When they reunite years later- there's still true love. Can't wait to start book 2 with Jorrell's younger sister Eltherinn, forced into an arranged marriage with one of the Dorvek(the werewolf clan).

Catherine is a friend and fellow FCP writer.I'm completely in awe of Catherine. She creates worlds so real, that I feel I can reach out and touch them. Her characters, even in a world as fantastical as hers, are as real as anyone I've ever known, and their struggles and triumphs feel just like my own. I really don't have sufficient words to do this masterpiece justice - and masterpiece, it is - but if you love well crafted novels, rich worlds full of politics and intrigue and love that survives, even after years apart, then do yourself a favour. Get yourself a big bar of chocolate, a bottle of red and prepare to be swept away.

5 Bright Stars I love this author who can adapt from writing hardcore MC to whimsical fantasy romance. Jorrell and Serwren are in love but were kept apart by jealousy. After years of separation, finally reunited, their love grow and they learn that their love for one another never change."I'm not made of glass," Serwren argued gently. "No," Jorrell pressed his lips to hers. "You are infinitely more precious."They were standing so close together that Serwren saw the tear that trembled over the edge of the lid of Jorrell's eye. She freed her hand from his, and reached between them to catch it on her fingertips. The movement, the touch, seemed to startle Jorrell out of his thoughts. His face remained set in stern lines, but his eyes lit with intent, with need. Serwren let out a girlish squeak when Jorrell suddenly dipped, caught one arm behind her knees, and swept her legs from under as he lifted her into his arms.Their love had endured years of separation. If it could survive thus far, Serwren had no doubt that they could only be stronger together. Whatever their stars foretold, they would face those challenges, and the resulting failures and victories, together, forever.
