If I remember right, I wrote the middle portion of this book first. In those days there were lots of saga historical romances with lots of big thick 3 and 4 and 5 editions. Naturally I wanted to write one, too. But I didn't want to write three great big books. So I wrote one big book with 3 parts. The oppressed grandmother, the willful mother, and the daughter who tied it all together. And because I had big ambitions in those days, I threw in the kitchen sink. Fast-forward to Spring 2015 when I proof-read the digital version prior to release as an e-book. Things have changed since then! I certainly have. That kitchen sink kind of bothered me; did I really have to include that? And THAT?Oh well, Hurricane Sweep was my saga! I still remember the day I sold it on three sample chapters and an outline. Then I thought, can I do it? Write all that? I think that's when my ex realized being married to a writer wasn't so much fun. Supper was never on time. I agonized over things he couldn't see, like plot and bang-up climax scenes. He didn't stick around. But here I am, telling you about my biggest book. Grateful some people love it, and understanding that some people hate it. I'll never write anything like it again. ;)

A tale of the lives of three generations of women from the same family. Their lives were entwined as they loved, made wrong choices and lived with their guilts. The characters were well developed and the reader gets to know each one and "feels" for them. An intriguing story that takes us from a Southern plantation to Boston; from the early 1830's to the Civil War.The author gives us a detailed insight into human feelings and emotions that carries us through the entire story. A absorbing read!

Intriguing web of love storiesThis novel tells the fulfillment of the loves of three generations of women. The driver of the action is the unorthodox sexual conceptions and actions of the majority of characters. Still, the characters are well-defined and interesting and the plot is well structured.

I just couldn't push myself to finish the book. Normally I read a book in a week or less and it has taken me 3 months to read 80% of this one. Just isn't my cup of tea.

ProofreadingGood book, but once again proofreading has been neglected. The end of chapter 37, repeats a couple of pages, so it takes a few minutes to process.
