Rekindled by Susan Scott Shelley was such a good story. Gemma and Adam had been sweethearts forever. They each had dreams for the future, never thinking those dreams would tear them apart. Adam was a baseball pitcher and dreamed of making the big leagues. When he got his big chance, he didn’t take Gemma with him so she eventually moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career which was her dream.Four long years later, Gemma’s career has never really taken off and an injury has sidelined Adam. They find themselves back home in Hunter’s Peak and all it takes is one kiss and they both know the love is still there.“Some twist of fate brought her back into his life. She still mattered. More than he’d thought. He still cared. More than he’d imagined. He wanted a second chance.”Suddenly, though, both of their dreams are brought back into focus. Can they find a way to each achieve what they always dreamed of and still have each other in their lives? Or will they have to make a choice?“Why did the realization of one dream have to result in the destruction of another?”This was a wonderful short story of second chances. It is my first book by Susan Scott Shelley but most definitely won't be my last.

This story resonated with me. Gemma and Adam break up four years ago and their running into each other in their home town years later rekindles the love they had shared. Both have their own career goals, however, that can rip them apart again. Susan writes the most beautiful romances. When all is lost, your heart breaks, and yet, she magically brings everything together in a HEA. The secondary characters are just well developed as the hero and heroine. I'd love to read a romance about Jocelyn, Adam's sister.

When Gemma decides to take part in a charity polar plunge, she never expected her old flame Adam to thaw her out. Their hot and heavy romance fizzled when their careers took opposite paths and they couldn’t take a chance on each other. But meeting again when their careers are now in a precarious balance awakens their love. I adore these characters, there’s great chemistry between them. I found my heart breaking just a little when their romance got rocky. The plot is big enough for a full story but not too much that it feels rushed. It’s a nice short story that satisfies a happy ever after need.

Rekindled by Susan Scott Shelley is a second chance romance that I thought was sweet. Adam is a baseball player and Gemma is a struggling actress. The two used to be together but Adam decided to follow his dream. They meet up again and the sparks are still there. Gemma and Adam are both great characters who want to get to know. The ending was perfect and very sweet.

Love, love, LOVE IT! Gemma and Adam's story is about a second chance with a first love. There's humor, and emotion and lots of sexy and sweet moments. This is book one in a new baseball series and I can't wait to read the rest! Susan Scott Shelley is my new go-to author for sports romance. I love her writing style!

Lovely little second chance story. I got a bit frustrated by their lack of communication. Also by the long detailed descriptions....ADD kicks in for me after more than a paragraph describing some place, scenery or outfit or whatever.

Cute short storyIt was cute but short. I would have liked it longer and more fleshed out. A little more of the backstory and what happened in the last four years would have been nice. But I love second chance stories where neither moved on. I couldn't tell on this one so I pretended they were both celibate while apart. Makes me feel better. Lol. Loved that there was a dog in it too. That clinched It.

Beautiful and sincere....Second chances and sports are my two favorite stories and to combine them in one story always, always makes me reach for those books first! This one was full of emotions that set my heart first to aching and then to singing..loved it!

Cute story. It was good. I like more "meat" to the story and more explicit wording (not his hardness best her softness). I'm a nurse so I'm into technical words, not teenage or junior high wording. Sorry. Otherwise, it was good.

My first read by this author was enjoyable. A second chance at love is always worth fighting for. This was a quick read with strong characters & a story line that moved well. I especially loved the character of Bear the dog. So sweet, loveable & funny.

Zero stars. Reads like fanfiction. Very short, read it in about an hour. Plus side: it was free. Don't waste your time.

Baseball and 2nd chance love you can't beat it. Adam and Gemma four years ago drifted apart when they both pursued there dream careers Adam in Baseball and Gemma in Acting. 4 years later they are both back home in the Catskill mountains. Adam trying to rehabilitate after a traumatic head injury. Emma because her acting was going nowhere she was stuck in B roles and was depressed so she came home. Adam and Gemma rekindled there love for each other. Gemma helped Adam in his Control and to give him the confidence to rekindle his career with baseball. Also finally Gemma was offered a Leading role. This time they had the confidence that there 2nd chance at love would work. The only I found fault with was the story ended to soon. Susan it's a homerun of a story.

3.5 second chance romance starsRekindledhad the potential to be a knockout but with its quick pacing and surface level depth it lacked a few things to make it sensational. The story follows Adam and Gemma four years after they broke up when he chased his baseball dream and she chased hers in Hollywood. There's a little bit of back story mingled in the pages but I found myself finishing with more questions than answers. The main characters seemed like well thought out people who worked out their issues but I wanted this one to go a bit deeper into their past. I liked the story for what it was and the romance was nice being as clipped as it was for such a short novel. Overall I just wanted to feel more from these two. I feel as if the author missed an opportunity to really grab you by the balls and take the reader through a deeper journey with this couple. If you want something quick and easy on the emotional angst I'd still suggest this book.

Meh. It was all right. Didn't really connect with the characters, other than Bear (the dog) he was pretty awesome. Lol. It's a crazy short story and I don't like short books. I think it had the potential to be something much better but was just a miss for me. I rated a two because I honestly didn't know what to give it. I think the dog was the saving grace of the book. But that's just because I'm a dog fan. I have two and they are both just as protective as Bear is in the book.

What a great love story! Gemma and Adam are reunited when Gemma returns to her hometown pondering what she wants to do next in her life. Adam is also facing hard choices in his career. Without giving away the story, let me just say that the characters feel so real, it's like they're friends you would already be acquainted with. And I love Bear, Gemma's Akita, whom she loves dearly! He's such a sweetie. This was a wonderful love story - it will put a smile on your face!I received a free copy of this book, however, this is my honest opinion.
