There's a lot going on in this installment. Perhaps too much.Miles deals with a number of obstacles. I can't discuss most of them as they are spoiler but dare I go out on a limb with clones?Great artwork as usual. I think I like Miles and his supporting cast more than those of Peter Parker but just by a bit. OVERALL GRADE: B.

Miles Morales has truly made the mantle he inherited from Peter Parker his own. It even has his name on the cover! The first series of Miles' adventures, Bendis and company were busy building up his own supporting crew and rogues' gallery. It wasn't until a later arc that the reader saw familiar villain from Peter's time. Now, Miles gets to dive headfirst into what is Peter's legacy. And if you seen the last page, it's going to get hip-deep pretty fast.I'm glad that Dave Marquez was retained as artist. He's grown as an artist in the ultimate books and he draws the cutest girls. I hope the artist that relieves him in the rotation is at least as good as he is.

This issue was pretty short so I haven't formed a proper opinion on it yet. I'm not sure if this is something I'll continue though because I'm already getting the vibes that it isn't really my type.

I really love the new Spider-Man, because it made me feel all those emotions for Peter Parker. This first volume was a great way to reminded me how awesome the the Ultimate Spider-Man series has been. This first volume really highlighted how human Spider- Man is and that he is such a relatable character. The writing was great and it really got to me. As for the new spidey, Miles Morales is great kid and I find the risk of him being so young, thrilling and refreshing. He gave me the the view point on just how hard it is to follow the great Spider-Man and making some hard choices. As for the race and him being a minority was really cool. The story doesn't get caught up on race but acknowledges it in brief moments. I think Miles Morales is such a likable character and I look forward to seeing him grow.

I'm so excited for this! I alternate between doing thisand talking to friends (and patrons about how this should be their next read) with this facial reaction: The art is fantastic, and the opening storyline is of course phenomenal! I'll definitely be supporting this series for the long haullllll~!

I just gotta say...why hasn't this come sooner. Growing up I've met and known a lot of young African American boys who would say Spider-Man was their favorite superhero. I even have a lot of cousins who say the same. If I could reach out to all my childhood brethren now, I'd give them this comic. It was a great read and the artwork was very nice and it's one of the first marvel comics I could fell in my soul and has renewed my love for Spider-Man and the spider-verse on slather scale.

I feel like the reveal at the end of this issue would never have happened before Cataclysm. I'm very skeptical of where this is going, but I love Miles Morales too much not to keep reading to find out more.

This is fine, I guess...but it didn't really feel like it was about Miles.
