4 starsSo, I really had to think on this rating for awhile. I enjoyed almost everything about this book except for one event in which the hero, Brantley, said some awful, hurtful things to the heroine, Eva, and sends her away. I had a tough time with that because I am not the most forgiving of readers when it comes to heroes doing cruel things to the heroines. The thing is....I understand the need to add some drama and conflict to make a book interesting. I also know that this is not a well-established author. So, bearing those two things in mind, I decided to only mark it down a 3/4 of a star from what I would have if there hadn't been that event. So in essence, this could have been a 4.75 star if the author had come up with a different way to play out that conflict.Regarding that event: Brantly did apologize profusely. And I believe he really loved Eva and would have been shattered if she hadn't forgiven him. In truth, he was a really really good guy. Throughout the book, he said some beautiful, sweet, touching things to Eva. I loved the way he called her "Eva sweet." In fact, the fact that he was so over-the-moon for her was partially why I had such trouble with what he did -- I didn't think it was believable.Anyway, that event aside, this story had lots of romantic, sweet, sexy and funny scenes. I enjoyed all of the characters (except her mother and fiance, who were both bad people). I loved the Alaska setting. I really adore mountain men type heroes as well. I much prefer that to all of the billionaire heroes out there (that is one of my least favorite tropes). Give me a rugged mountain man any day and I will be happy!

Love Untamed isn’t my usual kind of book but sometimes I just need a something light. I was knocking around on Goodreads late at night, kind of in a weird mood, and it was mentioned on one of my groups as a sweet read with an alpha male plus it was on KU so I decided to give it a go.While definitely quick and toothache inducing sweet at times, it was just an okay read for me. Eva could win awards for being a doormat. Her mother is a screaming evil banshee of a woman who verbally abuses Eva at every opportunity, but Eva just puts up with it, doing what she’s told. She doesn’t love her fiancee, but her Mom wants her to marry him for his money, so she just goes with it. You definitely got the impression that had she not caught the guy banging one of her frenemies (that her mother makes her hang out with), she would have gone through with the marriage. This isn’t the type of h I can get behind. After she got the news from the lawyer and ran away to Alaska, she did better but her constant willingness to forgive her Mother for anything was unbelievable and off-putting.Brantley was definitely an alpha that had some totally jerk moments, but when he had his head on straight he was kind, sweet and supportive. I didn’t get the insta-love thing (after he quit being an ass) but decided to look past this and go with the flow of the book. His major meltdown after her mother’s antics just didn’t make sense to me and went totally against character, especially when he knew her Mom had no problem lying. This was a huge turn off for me, and pretty much ruined Brantley for me.The entire plot line around the mother ended up being over the top and made no sense to me. (view spoiler)[Why would this woman adopt the baby of someone on drugs thinking that this baby would be a meal ticket after she grew up, with the plan on marrying her off to a rich guy? There is no way this woman could know how or what this child would end up like. This was ridiculous.(hide spoiler)] As the book went on, the mother’s actions just got more and more bizarre, and the supposed whodunit mystery was so obvious that I think I sprained my eyes with all the rolling they were doing. Was the book sweet? Yes, at times it was, but the sour of the completely unbelievable plot overpowered all that sweetness for me. Add in the doormat of a h, and it ended up being a disappointing read for me.Spice’s Rating: 2 Stars

4.5This book was adorable and cute and cheesy and that was the reason I enjoyed it! LOLI mean everything happened so fast here, but I love those stories about small town where the heroine from rich family comes back to town. There was a lot of humor in this one, and I liked secondary romance as well! (hope second book in the series is about them, I wouldn't even mind book about Kim and Hal). Obviously the book had some issues, but it was so light and I really enjoyed it so I gave it high rating. I wanted to relax and have some good, light love story to read and this book delivered.I had though some problems with overall plot:1. The whole Pearl thing. I don't even think she was needed in the story, really. Her actions made no sense and the suspense wasn't that big. I didn't care what happened in the past. She was too one dimensional, I needed for her to have some personality.2. Brant's reaction to what Pearl told him and then his words to Eva. They hurt her, and as a reader I was hurt too. The thing was that I really liked Brant(come on that scene from dirty dancing...so adorable! :D) so I didn't want for her to be mad at him for long but at the same time he deserved the cold shoulder way longer. Although have to admit the scene with him and Eric was hilarious. It was my first book by this author, and I liked her characters. Safety gang:(view spoiler)[ Heroine was engaged before but her fiancee cheated on her so she dumped him and went to Alaska. Hero had a serious relationship before way back in high school but then probably had one night stands. Also, there was a woman named Karen that heroine saw him with in town. He told her she was just a friend but it was over now. So I was confused, because the way he said it made me thing that they used to hook up for sex but since h was in the picture it was not an issue anymore(I'm not sure about that, but the way he said it made it seem like it). Nevertheless, he never mentions anything about OW, we don't have women around who talk about him being amazing in bed and there is zero OW drama. The hero was not a man-whore.(hide spoiler)]

The beginning was cute and all and I didn't mind the insta-love but my enjoyment when downhill after (view spoiler)[the H called the h a bitch and was such an asshole to her after everything they've said and done together. All because of the lies her mother told him. I was so disappointed and I found myself skimming after that. Especially since the h should've made him suffer/grovel a lot more. (hide spoiler)]

This was told mostly in 1st person heroine only but you got a little of the hero pov.The heroine Eva meets the hero Brantley while at a bar in Alaska. The hero is a real jerk at the beginning assuming things about her based on a past experience. She is in Alaska to see a inheritance left to her by a Grandfather she never knew of. Eva and Brantley develop a relationship after she gets injured but have a brief falling out again due to the hero assumptions again. Eva's stepmother wants to destroy the relationship because she wants Eva to marry her rich cheating ex but secrets get discovered as the stepmother's plot gets exposed. This is normally a book I would like but for some reason this one wasn't one that worked for me. I hated being in only the heroine's head and wanted to get more from the hero and it felt I didn't really get to know him because of this. It had some hints of KA to me especially the heroine so I think that made a difference too. I just felt like something was missing. I wanted to know the couple more and wanted to get more from the hero. I finished it feeling unfulfilled and no real happiness for the couple at the end.

Received a copy in exchange for an honest review“I’m at a loss for words. I want so badly to throw caution to the wind and explore these feelings, feelings so strong they almost consume me, but I’m not here for this. Not to mention I don’t even know how long I’m going to be here in Alaska.”4 stars. This book was an emotional ride, with a whirlwind romance. And let’s not forget Brantley is the sexy bar owner, with a man bun and beard…..that’s all I needed to know to keep reading!! Great story, great characters, great book!!Eva Jones has never felt as if she belonged and now she knows why.. Eva is summoned to a lawyer's office and discovers not only is she adopted, but she's the sole beneficiary of the biological grandfather. Eva refuses, but Pearl's been lying for a long time and has no problem dealing out a few more to get what she wants, no matter the cost.Confronted by a dark family history and the potential loss of all she holds dear, an Eva handle the devastating truth? Eva grew up in a privileged house and was trained early on that she must always be well groomed and conduct herself as a lady, to catch the right man. And while, she somewhat enjoyed the lifestyle, she always wondered about her life before. You see, Eva was adopted. Her adopted mom is a total b@tch and that’s putting it mildly, she’s basically forced Eva into an engagement to a man named Elliot and even though Eva doesn’t want to marry him, she doesn’t want to disappoint her mom. That all changes the day Eva receives news that her real grandfather has passed and he’s left her a million dollars and his house in…...Alaska. Excited by this news, and confused, she decides to go home and share it with Elliot. She never imagined that she’d walk in on him screwing her “frenemy” on their couch. That’s all she needed to have her eyes open, she decides to leave her life behind and go to Alaska, so she could try to reclaim her real life. She never expected to find Brantley, the studly bar owner (with a man bun and beard….swoon) and although Brantley is a complete jerk to her from the beginning, she slowly works her way into his heart and he into hers. Everything starts going smoothly for them both until Eva’s adopted mother comes to town and throws a wrench into Eva’s happy life. Not to mention, Eva finds out what really happened to her birth mom. Will Brantley and Eva survive the turmoil or will everything blow up?? This story was so brilliant!! I really loved this book and I now love Brantley, I can’t resist a man with a beard and man bun!!! **Received a copy in exchange for an honest review. This book was just okay for me. The H however was great. I loved the grunting, angry H that was tall, dark and total hotness. He was very possessive of the h as well. There was nothing crazy or OTT in the story as hole that really kept me glued or stood out (other than the hotness that was Brantley). I'm guessing we are getting the h's BFF story next as it seemed her own story was unfolding with the brother while all this was going on with the H and h.MY only complaint (if you can even call it that ) was that I didn't feel the connection ever really snap into place for these two. It seemed too easy for Brantley to question the h and too easy for the h to allow him to always do it. So again, overall just okay.

There is just something about the romance books where the girl takes off to a whole new destination and ends up meeting the guy she is meant to be with. I really enjoyed this authors writing. The book flowed and had me laughing and swooning at the same time. I swear the banter between these two had me thinking of my own relationship. Brantley and his sour ass attitude towards Eva at first had me enjoying both of them fighting off whatever emotions they were both feeling. If you are looking for a book that is fun with quick banter and some fun back characters this is your book.

3.25-3.5 stars. A cute, fluffy read! This was an easy, light and quick book. I enjoyed the original story and the Alaskan setting. The characters were quirky and funny, but did not have a lot of depth. Eva was immature and annoying at times and Brantley was overly alpha at times. But overall, I enjoyed the story and I hope to read more by this author in the future.

Enjoyed this book about Eva, who travels to Alaska after finding her fiance cheating on her. She is adopted, but has received an inheritance from her biological grandfather. Her adoptive mother has been rather abusive to Eva all her life, seeing her as some sort of meal ticket (she has to marry well). OK, so she runs off to Alaska, meets bearded hottie Brant and a love story unfolds. I quite enjoyed their love story, right until the point dear mother shows up and a wrench is thrown into the blossoming love.I did not understand WHY Eva does some things she does (after all she knows about her adoptive mom). The background story was a bit far fetched and not really explained into detail. Very fast read with also a second love story for Eva's bestie Charlotte. I liked it for a beach read, but I am not sure I will remember the story longer than a week.

This was OK, but didn't quite hit the mark at times. I never really understood why Eva kept her mother in her life; or what the mother's plan was - Eva was supposed to be her "meal ticket" but she kicked out the husband when Eva was 3? How did she survive after that while Eva was growing up, and why did she need Eva to marry rich if she was financially independent anyway? (Which it appears she was as she didn't work). It just didn't make any sense (apart from creating tension in the story, of course). I thought the big misunderstanding between Eva and Brant was a little overblown; and she forgave him way too easily since he acted like an arsehole. But it was a sweet story, and entertaining, and just what I needed this afternoon - a nice quick read.

The perfect alpha male...a beard, a bartender, and he likes country music. I loved Eva and Brant's story, their chemistry was amazing even when they were arguing and their love story is even better. I had never heard of Ra'chael until I picked up this book 3 hours ago and I haven't been able to put it down. I laughed out loud numerous times while reading this book, it's definitely a book I'll read again and again. I gave this book 5 stars and that isn't something I do lightly but I absolutely loved this book, it's been added to my top favorite books list and I will be recommend it to everyone I know. Ra'chael has a new fan for life, I can't wait to read her other books!!!

***ARC provided to leave an honest review***Wow. This book was nothing like I expected. I was glued from the first page & read it all in one setting. I was truly captivated from page 1, we meet Eva who just found out she was adopted & her only living relative has died & left her his house in Alaska. She packs up her life & relocates to Alaska, where she meets the sexy, broody, rude bartender Brantley. They had fantastic chemistry & even though he was so mean to Eva, you could really see how she affected him. I want a Mountain Man!! This book was so good, it keeps you so attached to the characters. I loved it! Hopefully we'll get Char & James' book next!!!Awesome book Ra'chael!!

Damn this book had me but then the end happened. I don't want to lay out any spoilers but Eva seriously needed a slap. After that incident I couldn't get back into it, which was a shame since I still had 25% of the book still left to read. I finished it but the magic was ruined. Heroines that hold secrets 'that really shouldn't be secrets but just selfish decisions on their part' is a pet peeve of mine. I will say I'm glad I read it because Brantley made me swoon, even when he was being a jackass.

This was a quick read that gave me conflicting feelings. On one hand, Brant is adorably handsome and sexy as hell. On the other hand, Eva is whiny and annoying, but somehow perfect for Brant. Obviously, hated Pearl, who didn't? Brant and Eva's story felt like a high school romance. Lots of ups, downs, and 'oh, no she didn't' that made it aggravating at times. Another thing, Brant uses 'babe', 'baby' etc. way too often. Overall not a bad story, but not a repeat read.

This book had all the elements but none of it was executed enough. The plot was good. The characters were good but it wasn't fleshed out enough for it all to come together to make a good read. It was very cliche at points. If this story had been written by another author I think it all would have come together.

I wanted to read Love, Untamed as soon as I read a teaser for it and then when I read the synopsis, I wanted to read it even more! It sounded like a love/hate/fighting type relationship and those are my favorite! I went into Love, Untamed pretty much looking at like another book to cross off my list of due books, but from the very beginning, it became so much more for me. I fell in love with it almost instantly, it just kept getting better, and I never wanted to put this book down! It was amazing and I'm still smiling about it even now! Oh my gosh, I loved Eva! She's feisty and stubborn and clumsy and hilarious! She reminded me of Melissa McCarthy when she first meets Brantley and that made me love her more than I already had. She is an unbelievably awesome heroine - she's so strong and kind and a little heartbreaking sometimes, but she's absolutely real. I couldn't have asked for a better heroine and she's definitely my favorite out of all the ones I've read for awhile. I normally don't try to put a celebrity, model, or relatively well-known guys' face on the hero mostly because that image of them doesn't stick and it didn't really in this case either, but as soon as Brant is described, I immediately thought of Brock O'Hurn. I love Brock, so I fell in love with the giant Alaskan mountain man hero pretty much instantly! I fell even more when we get to know him better and how could I not? Brant is strong and stubborn, possessive and protective, and so sweet and caring. He's totally everything I love in my alpha heroes! Love, Untamed made me laugh big and often, it made me sigh in happiness, and it made my heart ache in both the good way and the bad one. It's a beautiful, passionate, steamy love story that I loved wholeheartedly! It's beyond excellent, I just want to read it all over again right now, and I can't wait to read more from Ra'chael Ohara!! Love, Untamed is a standalone, it's told from Eva's POV, and they get their HEA.~ Sonja, 5 Stars

I actually really enjoyed this book. I've always loved the idea of picking up & moving somewhere totally different, away from populated cities & starting over. So I liked the premise. It was well written, the dialogue was great, the banter was hilarious & the characters were great too.I liked even more the hot long haired, bearded, giant of a sex god. Brantley was all alpha... a bit of a jackass but also a sweetheart. Equal parts that make the perfect man. Eva was a sassy, tough little thing. I loved that she can hold her own & not take anyone's crap. She had no problem standing up for herself & not letting most people come at her... Most. The only problem I had, which I see many books have written it similarly, is the lack of backbone towards a parent that is a complete evil piece of garbage. I think it's just my own preference because I don't believe in taking anyone's shit, no matter who they are. Family doesn't mean you can't tell them to f*ck off & die. But that's just me. Eva was such a strong character but not when it came to her mother. I wish she would have told her to take a flying leap a long time ago.And the other issue I had was the quick confession from Brantley about his attraction & how they were gonna be together. That was a bit odd. I'm not a fan of insta-love.

1.5 stars rounded to 2.This story was just alright. The telling of the story seemed a bit rushed to me, and there was very little character development. Although it contained plenty of NA cliches and was very predictable, it was a sweet story nonetheless. What I liked:1) Low to no drama from ow/om.2) The overall story and epilogue was sweet. What I didn't like:1) We only hear the story from the h's pov. I would have appreciated some perspective from Brant.2) How insecure the h was. (I can't even remember her name and I read this last night. That can't be a good sign.)3) The insta-love. There was almost no build up.4) The supporting characters of Char (why do I remember her name?) didn't add much substance to the story.5) Evil mom. She's so one-sided and OTT.6) The sappy, first person pov was humorous and self-deprecating but it almost seemed like the author was trying too hard to make the h funny and likable. I almost couldn't take anything she said or thought seriously. She was like a comedian who couldn't turn off the funny.

Arc provided for honest reviewEva has always felt like she doesn't belong. Finding out that she has a Grandfather she never knew about and that he has died and left her not only his entire fortune but also a property in Alaska has put her life in a spin. When she goes home to tell her fiance, she finds him having sex with her frenemy, Eva decides to escape to Alaska. Once there she is judged unfairly by the breathtakingly handsome Bar owner, Brantley. Brantley takes one look at Eva and judges her as a spoilt rich girl and lets her know it. But there is a chemistry between the two that has them both drawn to the other. Can Eva show Brantley she is not who he thinks she is? Will the attraction between them be denied?Ra'chael Ohara writes a beautifully written story about overcoming perceptions and finding love in unexpected places.

This is another new author to me. Since I have 3 of her books on my Kindle, I thought it was about time I dived into one of them. And because I've cleared my ARC pile there wasn't a better time than now.Love Untamed started off strong. It held my interest well, and for the most part I enjoyed the plot. It did lose me a bit in the middle and towards the end since everything seemed a little too easy to resolve, and the ending events came much too quickly. I also found the suspense element wasn't developed enough for my tastes. However, for the most part I found it to be an easy read that I enjoyed. I especially liked James and hope he gets his own book.Considering I got this free I can't complain. It kept me entertained and was a good romance.
