by Andrea Renee CoxRocky Mountain Pursuit by Mary Alford was an exciting adventure. There's room for improvement on the pacing of the beginning of the romance and in the few lengthy "let's chat about the past" scenes that slowed down the core plot a little more than I like in suspense. The romance picked up beautifully, though, and was intertwined with bursts of action. The suspense was woven in really well. Just when I thought I had figured something out, it was spun on its head and shocked me. That's definitely key to the suspense genre. Well done, Ms. Alford!I recommend Rocky Mountain Pursuit for fans of suspense and romantic-suspense.I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

What a spectacular read! This spine tingling suspense will take you from Texas to the Rocky Mountains of Colorado in a spine tingling game of cat and mouse. We are introduced to Dr. Reyna Peterson and Jase Bradford who are two very complex characters. Reyna was widowed 6 months ago when her husband, Eddie, was killed in the Middle East while serving his country. She has received a letter her husband had written prior to his death that throws her life in turmoil and literally running for her life. Jase Bradford died years ago when his elite Scorpion team was attacked, but Davis Sinclair was born. Davis lives in the mountains of Colorado near the small town of Defiance. Davis has a beautiful mountain home where he works with troubled young teens. Davis rescues a young woman who's car has slid off the road and down the mountain side only to find out she's looking for Jase Bradford and realizes his cover is blown. Trust is not in Jase's vocabulary. There's only two people he trusts in this world and finds out one of them has been killed. Reyna is so far out of her comfort zone that she has no real trust for anyone, but comes to realize quickly that she needs to trust someone to protect her. She has come to Jase for answers , but when they are attacked by an unknown enemy suddenly they are on the run for their lives. This story is one of trust and faith. The author brings us a an intriguing story that quickly pulls the reader in and keeps them turning the pages. She uses imagery to bring the setting and characters to life. I found myself pulled to Reyna and her turmoil early in the story. Jase is a strong character that a girl could easily fall in love with. This is a fast paced story that is full of twists and turns. This is a good, clean read. The message I received from this story was that regardless of the trials we face in life God is always there with us and we must trust in him seeing us through. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves suspense. *I received this book from the author for a honest review without bias or outside influence.

Fantastic Page Turner! The suspense just kept building and kept me guessing. I also loved the Inspirational line and how the characters kept seeking God to help them through the danger. The characters seemed so real. I hope I will get to read about these characters in future books. This was my first time reading from this author. I love her style of writing.

If you like to read action-packed, page-turning, can’t-put-this-book-down books, then you need to rush to your nearest bookstore – or get on Amazon – and buy Rocky Mountain Pursuit.Author, Mary Alford, has written a suspense story that will keep you on the edge of your seat from the first page to the end. Although fiction, Rocky Mountain Pursuit is set in the midst of current events, making you realize this story could easily take place in today’s time. Almost every chapter contains a plot twister, and the end of each chapter is a cliff hanger, making you want to ignore family and friends until you finish the book. And, of course, Ms. Alford left the biggest plot twister to the very end.The two main characters, Jase and Reyna, will find a place in your heart from the very beginning. You will hold your breath as they move from one danger to the next. The last piece of what makes this book so good, is the description of the scenery. Vivid, descriptive terms transported me from home to the Rocky Mountains, from every day life to a life full of adventure and danger. On a scale of 1-10, this book is a 10+!

This is one of the BEST suspense books I’ve read in a long time! What I liked: From the first page, Ms. Alford captures your attention with a life-threatening situation, and makes you love the main characters, Reyna and Jase, immediately. That same love and concern Ms. Alford garners in the beginning of the story grows stronger all the way to the climax at the end. The suspense is thrilling, and keeps you on the edge of your seat. I love the fact that Ms. Alford’s research must have been extensive because it shows in the way she handled complex situations that aren’t common to most readers. What I didn’t like: This might be a small complaint, but it seems unrealistic for Reyna and Jase to feel such a strong physical attraction for each other after meeting only two days before. The reader can’t help wondering if their attraction is because of the recent losses of the ones they loved and their desire for companionship.Over all I give this book five stars and would have given it more if possible. It’s a fantastic suspense, and I highly recommend it to anyone loving books about intrigue and romance.

WHAT. A. RIDE. Rocky Mountain Pursuit is one wild adrenaline rush through the snowy mountains of Colorado. Nothing and no one are as they seem. Those they thought they could trust may very well be the ones out to kill them. Nowhere to turn, no place left to hide, and they wonder if they can even trust each other. Secrets and lies have shaken them both. With plenty of non-stop action Mary Alford's latest novel is filled with spies, counter-spies, double-crosses, and secrets once though buried in the past. If you are much a fan of Love Inspired Suspense as I am you will definitely not want to miss Rocky Mountain Pursuit by Mary Alford. Believe me, I could barely put it down and kept breathlessly turning the pages wondering what could possibly happen next. And even though I partially figured out a key villain I was totally blown away with the final revelation. WOW!(I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for my review. All opinions are my own.)

Rocky Mountain Pursuit, written by Mary Alford, is the first book I've read by this author, but hopefully not my last! I was excited to read this as soon as I read the blurb about the book! This is a great story about a doctor, Reyna, who had been married to Eddie who was CIA, but he had been killed in the line of duty. While Reyna knew he was CIA, she didn't know all that was involved in his assignments. Unfortunately Reyna finds herself in the midst of being threatened with treason if she didn't give other CIA agents information they said her husband had illegally obtained. This story is how she tries to clear her husbands name...will she be able to or is it an impossible task especially since she was a physician, not an agent! Extremely suspenseful! Great storyline! I was gifted this book in exchange for my honest review.

A good solid book. I loved the characters and enjoyed the storyline. My only reservation is the romance felt a little bit rushed. The entire book happens over the course of less than a week and the level of affection the characters develop for each other seems a bit unbelievable.

When Federal Agents come knocking on Reyna Peterson’s door late one night looking for hidden information her late husband has, her life spirals into a nightmare! Eddie Peterson left specific instructions in a letter that if this exact thing were to happen, she’s to find a Jase Bradford in Defiance Colorado. Except for one thing, he died years ago in a sting operation gone bad! But since she trusts her late husband & with nowhere else to turn, it sets a course of trying to stay one step ahead of the agents! When she nears Defiance in a severe snow storm, her car slides off the mountain to rest on a ledge. This is where Davis Bradford comes in to play. He helps get the young woman out of the car, finds out who she’s looking for & knows the truth must come out. Once safe in his cabin, they must begin to trust one another to survive. Davis tells her that he is indeed Jase and has been in hiding. Can they run far enough or gather enough evidence to clear Eddie’s name? From the start, I was drawn into this pulse pounding story! It seems that everywhere they turned; they were cut off by the agents after Reyna. How did they find where they were when she was so careful? Why did Jase have to go into hiding all these years? And what information was Eddie hiding that someone wanted to kill them for? These were questions that flitted through my mind & as the story unfolded, began to be answered. With each layer revealed, it became clear just how much danger they really were facing. Both Jase and Reyna had to learn to trust one another to survive, and outwit the opponent. It kept me up late at night turning pages as fast as I could, white knuckles holding the book & eyes glazed with fear! It was a non-stop thrill ride, a guessing game as to who-dun-it, and a touch of romance in the midst of it all. I also enjoyed the faith theme threaded throughout and how each character began to trust the Lord more and more. You don’t want to miss this one, especially lovers of inspirational suspense. This author will keep you on your toes! *I had won this book in a contest and since I'm now on the author's street team, have done an honest review! All opinions expressed here are my own. Thank you Mary for a ride of my life, loved it!!**

This is the first book that I have read by Mary Alford. I can say without a doubt it won’t be my last. Alford got my interest from the first page, and never let it go. She is quickly moving into my favorite authors category. I felt as though I had gotten to know the characters. I found that I could relate to them, and was pulling for them the whole time. The story seemed very believable, and I could totally feel what they were going through. I was in no hurry for this story to end, and would have gladly read a way longer novel if it meant I got to spend more time with these characters. I find myself hoping that there will be another book where they are secondary characters. Hint hint. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a great adventure. I loved being taken to the cold Colorado Mountains as Jase and Reyna ran for their lives. Alford had the perfect amount of suspense and romance mixed together. I could not put the book down, and know you will feel the same way. I found it interesting that Reyna was a recent widow, which put a different twist on things, and enjoyed seeing her chemistry with Jase. I also enjoyed seeing the characters faith mixed in the story. So in a nut shell, read this book! I can’t wait to see what is next from Mary Alford. I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest opinion. Rocky Mountain Pursuit was truly action-packed! It seemed that danger was always just around the corner (or a little ways down the mountain) giving Jase and Reyna only short opportunities to catch their breath before they had to continue trying to reach safety.I really liked the set up for this book. As the story began, it was clear that something about the death of Reyna’s husband was not as it appeared. The ensuing attempt to discover the truth while trying to stay alive was indeed nerve-wracking and filled with last minute escapes! It was incredibly hard for Jase and Reyna to know who to trust. I enjoyed watching these two characters try to figure out all of the pieces to a very confusing and deadly puzzle.I liked the romance between Jase and Reyna, however, it developed very early on in the story when the characters had not known each other long. The speed and intensity of their feelings for each other surprised me a little, but I think the author provided a good and realistic finale that made for a truly satisfying ending.Rocky Mountain Pursuit was full of twists and turns and questions about who could be trusted. This was the first book that I have read by Mary Alford and I look forward to reading more in the future.I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. You can read this review on the Suspense Sisters blog at:http://suspensesistersreviews.blogspo...

"Was Jase Bradford dead or alive?" The answer to that question might change everything. Reyna Peterson is on the run from an unknown enemy for an unknown reason. Her deceased husband insisted that she find a man by the name of Jase Bradford if she ever felt threatened after his death, but Jase has been dead and buried for years. Hasn't he? When her path leads deep into the mountains of Colorado, she meets a man named Davis who rescues her off a steep embankment after her car takes a vicious slide. Could this be Jase, and why is he living as a virtual recluse?Jase Bradford expected his past to find him, but never did he expect it to arrive in such a beautiful package. Reyna Peterson is gorgeous, but grief-stricken over the death of her husband Eddie, one of Jase's best friends and co-patriot on an elite CIA Scorpion team in Afghanistan. If Jase's enemies are after Reyna, she must have information worth killing for. Can either of them trust the other long enough to evade a well orchestrated Rocky Mountain pursuit? This little book packs a powerful punch with its perfect blend of high energy suspense and tender loving romance. My thanks goes to the author who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

Spies, CIA, espionage, murder, terrorists, oh my! All in this riveting inspirational romance. This was a definite edge of your seat read. The first sentence of the prologue had my heart pounding and the action never let up throughout the entire book. Reyna's husband Eddie was killed for secrets he was hiding. He left them with her with instructions to find Jase Bradford for help. But he was dead! The two of them attended his memorial service. Or was he? Reyna headed out to find him not knowing she was being followed. She found him and the chase began. Running from place to place, being shot at and injured, all while hiding a laptop computer with top secret government information that shouldn't get in the wrong hands. What I liked best was the fact that I kept guessing on who the bad guys were. Who could Reyna and Jase really trust? We're the ones trying to help them helping or leading them right into the enemies hands? I really enjoyed this story and finished it in two days while camping. I received this book from the author for my honest review, which I have given. I received no monetary compensation.

My thoughts:Mary Alford is a new-to-me author, and I wasn’t disappointed! I found her writing descriptive, suspenseful (and considering this is Love Inspired Suspense, this is a good thing  ), and fast-paced. There was little downtime, and each paragraph, line, and word moved the story forward.Reyna is a heroine with a lot of pluck, courage, and though she’s hurting, she’s open to God’s will. Jase is a hero a lot of women would swoon after. Ha!! He’s strong, resourceful, though he has his own personal demons, he’s courageous. Their character arcs (their journeys) are great!!There were a few moments that felt like the romance was forced, especially with the recent loss of Reyna’s husband and the high-stakes chase she and Jase were involved in, but I thought the care with which the author took at the end of the story was beautifully done. All in all, I would definitely recommend Mary’s book, especially if you want a fast-paced, quick read.*I was given this book for free from the author in exchange for an honest review. The thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.

Reyna is running from some one and she doesn't know who or why she just knows before her husband died he told her if "they" came she needed to find Jase, the dead guy. Jase is wondering why a car is heading up his hill, is this another ambush. When he finds the car and sees a women they both wonder if they can trust each other then the fun starts, will they make it out alive or will the trust they have put in others get them killed or close to it? I really really really enjoyed this book. Once I started it I have a hard time putting it down it had me on the edge of my seat the whole time needing to know what happened and who did what. There was not one bad part in this book everything about it keeps you guessing and wanting more all the way to the end. If you are looking for a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat thats a really good and quick read this book is for you. Totally fast pace so sit back and enjoy.

WOW! A major adrenaline rush throughout! The main characters are incredibly well developed and presented in a very clear and believable way. They both have incredible strengths that are used to help them survive the sudden danger that they find themselves in. The only problem that they need to overcome is to figure out how to trust each other since they had never met each other beforehand. I really enjoyed the fact that both Jase and Reyna have a personal relationship with God. They are able to hold on to their belief in Him as they try to navigate the treacherous road they are on.The prologue starts with a bang and then the danger builds from there. The pauses in the action are short and therefore very sweet. I needed a chance to calm down myself. I was kept guessing up to the end of the book. I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest opinion.

Wow!! Hold on to your hat because this book takes you on a wild ride of suspense and twists! I absolutely loved this book! This is my first book to have read by this author. She is amazing. I love a good suspenseful book and I also love a good romance too. When both are combined in a book like this, it is a must read. I loved the hero, Jase. Oh my word! I am still swooning. I also loved the heroine, Reyna! I felt like she could be a great friend to hang out with. She is so sweet and I thought a very strong gal to have gone through all she went through in running for her life. It didn't hurt that she had the handsome Jase to protect her either. All in all, this was a great read and I couldn't put it down. I highly recommend this book.*I was given this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.

I didn't give it 5 stars because I'm not certain I like the lead female character. At times she seems so 'needy', but the character did whatever was needed.

Love Inspired Suspense.. it certainly is! Pounding on the door.. pounding of the heart.. pounding of the feet as Reyna runs for her life! AND that's just in the first few pages! ! Reyna seeks out Jase Bradford because her now dead husband has told her she can trust him. She finds him in the Colorado mountains and so does the CIA that wants what they think she has. The chase is on and just when I thought I had it figured out.. another attack and another surprise betrayal.. Good stuff, I loved it!
