The Right Choice-Interesting story about Carly, who is set to marry her friend Peter for all the wrong reasons. When Peter's brother Mike enters the picture, sparks fly between him and Carly. But Carly knows from past experience that love and passion can cause more harm than good. I liked this story, I didn't love it. There seemed to be a disconnect between the characters, the timing and how certain scenes played out, and it left me as the reader a little lost and confused. Suddenly Love-Started off great- a true second chance story. Lissa and Trevor were high school sweethearts, but one mistake later and Lissa is pregnant with her ex-boyfriend's baby. Cut to 10 years later and Lissa is now a single mom raising her 10 year old daughter by herself. When her baby's daddy cheated on her for the last time, Lissa left, with what was left of her pride. Now she's trying to make ends meet by writing obits and serving coffee at a cafe. When she is offered the chance to write for a real newspaper, she jumps at the chance. Except her first assignment is to interview her ex boyfriend Trevor. The sparks are still there between the two, and both admit that they still are into each other and want another chance. Despite being all over each other in and out of bed, when faced with the realities of dealing with Lissa's daughter from her ex, Trevor isn't sure he can handle it.This short story didn't skimp on the heat. What it skimped on was a good ending. It abruptly and unrealistically ended without following through on the realities. But this was a well written story, despite the disappointing ending.Perfect Partners-When Griff's brother and Chelsie's sister die in an accident, the custody of their daughter is left up in the air. When Griff is awarded sole custody, Chelsie is relieved. After all, she has convinced herself that to get attached to yet another child and have this one taken away would be her breaking point. But Chelsie never expected Griff to not only need her help in raising their niece, but in the business area as well. Chelsie starts growing closer to not only her niece, but to Griff too, but if he finds out about her past, and her reluctance to allow herself to love anyone again, will her heart be broken yet again? While I liked this story, the pacing left a lot to be desired. It moved so slowly and Chelsie was repetitive in her "I have a bad past, I can't be close to anyone". I love Carly Philips, but if I had read this story first, I might have been reluctant to read anything else.Unexpected Chances-10 years ago, Holly woke up the morning after her high school graduation only to find her boyfriend, the boy who she thought she'd be spending the rest of her life with, had up and moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. Now Dylan North is back in town, and he's finally ready to settle down, with Holly by his side. But is Holly ready to forgive and forget?I liked the pacing of the story. The dialogue was sharp and witty. The romance was sweet and heartfelt. What I didn't like was how fast Holly forgave Dylan. If a guy gave me a Dear John letter as a way of saying goodbye, then expected to pick up where he left off ten years later, I'd make him work a little harder for forgiveness. Otherwise, I really had no issues with this story.Worthy of Love-Kevin is still reeling from the death of his partner when he sleeps with his partners' grieving sister Nikki. Kevin immediately ups and leaves before Nikki is awake, and returns two months later.Nikki never revealed to Kevin that not only was he her first, but that she is in love with him. But thanks to his disappearance, and her brother and parents untimely deaths, Nikki is forced to drop out of her last semester of college, move in with her sister-in-law Janine, and take a job as a cocktail waitress in a step above a dive bar. Why she needed to do that was not well explained.Nor was Kevin's surprise re-entry into Nikki's life at the hands of Janine. But shock of all shocks, unbeknownst to everyone but Janine, Nikki and Kevin's one night resulted in an unexpected pregnancy. Now Nikki, who hates to rely on anyone for anything, has to figure out how to raise a baby with the man she doesn't trust on her own. I was not a fan of this book. Both characters admitted that they needed to talk, but neither one ever could. It was like going around a roundabout without knowing how to get off, so you keep going around. This story was the definition of insanity. The only reason why I finished is because this was part of a five story bundle and this was the last story, and I just wanted to finish it.
