Roscoe is the heavyweight champ of 17 Parkwood Avenue. Nothing is louder than Roscoe. Until the baby came along. "This house wasn't big enough for the both of them." They both mean business. "Two heavyweights. One house." And the battle begins. But by Round 8, something amazing happens. They smile at each other and then they become inseparable. All is good ... until the twins show up.Cute.

Need a picture book to tell you how it really is for a pet and a new baby? Well this may be your book. It's a funny take on pets and new family members. Who will win the showdown? For the most part it's a match but hopefully at some point it becomes a draw.Author/illustrator, Lindsay Ward, rallies up the fun in this humorous picture book published by Simon & Schuster Books for Young People.#PB #dog #baby #matchpoint

I know several families with dogs and young children - the dogs are best buddies, and this story reflects those families as the babies become toddlers. This has a bit of a clever, surprise ending. Subdued pink and green dominate the color illustrations done in cut paper, watercolor, and pencil with soft lines & shapes, as if we are cuddling babies & toddlers & plump pups. I wonder why the author chose to use as a background on some pages an image of a lined paper that younger grades would use for writing.

Fun, fun, fun. Rosco, pampered pooch is less than delighted when a new baby comes aboard. The two engage in a battle of wills. Parents of siblings will relate to the saga of a disruption in the household. Both older and younger siblings alike will relate to feeling a bit of jealousy. Read to find out who triumphs.

This book was laugh out loud funny but I'm not sure if younger kids will get the humor. Rosco the dog is not happy a new baby has moved in and the new baby is not happy Rosco lives there. Will they ever get along? Battles ensue between the two as they fight over their territory.

Rosco has always been the top dog at home - literally. He's the dog and number one at getting attention. That is until the baby shows up. Now it's on! Who will be #1 in this house? Lots of laughs as Rosco vies to keep his place at the top.

Nothing changes a child's life like a new baby in the house. Even if that child is a dog. It's adorable how the rivalry turns to friendship just in time for them to face a formidable new opponent together.

There's a new kid in town (er, in the house) and Rosco is not happy. Suddenly this pooch is taking a back seat to the new baby. This humorous tale will have kids laughing and enjoying themselves.

What a wonderful dog/child friendship story! Sometimes the best friendships don't start out that way. Sometimes they begin as a rivalry. It's so much fun watching this friendship evolve!

THAT was an unexpected ending. Loved the expressions. As someone who has a new baby in the house right now, there was so much in this I related to.

Aside from the amusing concept, this book is pretty predictable in its execution. Not that plenty of people won't enjoy it.

I know lots of friends who have dealt with their sweet little puppy not-very-sweetly "welcoming" their new baby home, and this story tells a tale such as that. Very, very cute.

Cute book. For houses with one baby bringing in another, whether the baby has fur or not! This would make for a fun read-a-loud with a group & I really like the wrestling theme to it as well.
