I don’t give a f**k if I die tomorrow, as long as I get her tonight. Bryce I’ve been to war. I’ve lived in the streets. I’ve beaten the needle, and I’ve looked death in the face and laughed. So what the f*ck do I want with a sassy, smart-mouthed spitfire like Peyton Rivers? There are a thousand reasons I should stay away, beyond the fact that she’s my best friend’s sister I don’t give a f**k if I die tomorrow, as long as I get her tonight.Bryce I’ve been to war. I’ve lived in the streets. I’ve beaten the needle, and I’ve looked death in the face and laughed. So what the f*ck do I want with a sassy, smart-mouthed spitfire like Peyton Rivers? There are a thousand reasons I should stay away, beyond the fact that she’s my best friend’s sister. She’s just as broken as me. She’s seen the face of the devil and taken the time to spit in it, and she’s got scars like mine to prove it. Oh, and we’ve been down that road before, and it ended in blood and rain. But like I said, I’m a fighter. You gotta fight for what you want. And Peyton -- the sassy, hard-knocks girl from my past with a body made for sin -- is gonna be mine. The sins of the past never quite stay where you put them, do they? Peyton I worked hard to get to where I am. Stable, healed, and somewhat normal -- with a family to call my own. I shut the door on Bryce Connors a long time ago. What we had was wrong then and the ghost of that memory is worse now. It’s just that there are people who tie us together, blood bonds that can’t be broken. But when our family is shattered, our friend stolen from us, the two of us are thrown together all over again until we get him back. Great; high stakes, high tensions, and halfway across the world with the one man I can’t seem to resist, even when everything about him makes my heart scream NO. What could possibly go wrong? ...Or right? ***This is a standalone book with a HEA; NO CLIFFHANGER!** This book can be read entirely on it's own, although you may find the story more enriching by reading the full Soldiers of Fortune series. ...

2.5-3 ish StarsFavorite Quote of the whole book: "But of course, there's never a "final chapter" to anyone's story, because the story is always moving forward. Every day is an empty page, and it's our job to fill them with life; with laughter, with tears, with struggles, and with triumphs. We may stumble and fall, and we may bend and break under the winds and tides of the fates that move us, but no matter what, the story will always find it's way through."I liked this story more than the rest of the series. I really loved that it starts off with action and fills the rest of the pages with the mission of getting the heroine's brother back. It had a quick pace and easy flow to it. I still feel like this series could use:1. Less glossing over on major things.2. More depth to the story, characters, and their personal feelings.3. More insight into Bryce's addiction and his thoughts and struggles against it so when a certain scene towards the end happens, I could have believed his reaction to it more. I liked that the heroine was involved with the mission- but I think it would have gone better had she NOT have been there. Even though I liked how she helped out in the end, it wasn't believable to me and how that played out- I need a bit more realism in things like this.

Intense romance with a lot of action and strong feelings. Just what I like. The author has devised a powerful finale to her series of stand-alones that are connected through the main characters in each. All hard men with equally hard lives who have redeemed themselves thanks to a common goal, a man who redefined their futures. I really like that concept. And this time, it's an amazing couple's turn. Bryce and Peyton are far from easy to deal with, yet their story is one of hardship, stark suffering and emotionally charged chemistry.Roar starts off with exactly that, a roar of hurt that challenges this family of soldiers and their strong women, and sets Peyton and Bryce on the course of high adventure and true redemption. The plot is action-packed with rescue missions, seedy dealings, secrets, guilt and excruciatingly hot intimacy. This couple's relationship might be broken, but it still affects them with the force of a gale. Raw, gritty passion lurks beneath their skin, ready to jump and grab them at any second. I loved those chapters that recount their past horrors with a rabid, angry prose. Which soon turns into a hot mess of frustrating denial and all-consuming fire when this couple's forbidden passion explode. Whenever they flee from it, it devours them with more fire. It was really exciting to experience their jealousy and hunger for each other mixing with the dangerous mission they're on.Sometimes it was a bit obnoxious when Peyton acted as if she had a violent situation under control when it was painfully obvious she didn't. Despite that, I adored everything about the story. The author has outdone herself with this fas-paced, thrilling adventure or redemption, the meaning of family and second chance at true love with a crazy sense of action and a narrative that blazes on fire with passion and emotion. I loved the flashes of the characters' past and how much they've grown and learned since their dark days. A hell of a final chapter to this series!I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, and boy, am I happy ;o)

Roar (Soldiers of Fortune Book 4)Aubrey Irons5 starsDUDE WHAT!?!?!? -- I just found this series and its over. I will be going back and getting all of these. Like now … I have missed out on the Archer family. I cannot believe it. This is an excellent series and I have to find out where these characters came from. You don’t have to read them to see that each is a standalone and I did go back and read the synopsis from the previous books. It gave me enough insight for me to be okay and continue on Roar before back clicking. This is Bryce Connors and Peyton's story. The Archer World Health Foundation is in motion and everyone is finally doing good. Logan, Quinn, Hudson, Reagan, Javier and Chelsea are mending fences and making strides to becoming a family. Peyton is trying to forget Bryce and Bryce is making it very hard. Logan and Bryce are best friends and Logan never knew about she and Bryce. Peyton walked away with no explanation the night all was to be revealed. Bringing her thoughts back to the present she notices a helicopter flying low. Something isn’t right and then all hell breaks lose. Logan is taken. Her only family she has left. The family she just found. Peyton’s world was shattered and she endured abuse at the hands of her mothers drunk boyfriend. She turned a blind eye sitting there watching TV as he burnt her over and over. And then Logan came for her. The brother she had no idea walked this earth. The moment Logan came for her and she stepped outside and laid eyes on the beautiful man named Bryce she knew it was trouble. Bryce had a shit life. He was a junkie until Walter Archer saw more in him and helped him get clean along with Major Lawson, Walter’s best friend. The past has shown its head and its time for Bryce to shut it down. Blackriver has Logan. Its time to make everything right and end it. With Bryce technically “not existing” he is the only one who can go in until Peyton is out the door heading to save her brother. Bryce doesn’t know why Peyton just walked away that night. He knows her broken past and chalked it up to hers and his in Peyton’s eyes didn’t mix and never would. Add Logan kicking his ass into that mix and no more explanation needed. Needless to say friends … big reveal of why in this book and you will end up saying “are you kidding me!?!?!” This is full of BOOM you all. Action, sexy time, intense emotions and lots of heartbreaking flashbacks between both characters fill these pages and make this a fantastic story. I love every bit of Roar. I cannot wait to get my hands on the other three books. The stories center around Logan and Quinn, Javier and Chelsea, and Hudson and Reagan. Best thing along with the story lines – they are all free on Kindle Unlimited so there is NO reason to not click these up and give them a whirl. Its exactly why I did .. well along with the covers .. Yes Im that girl.Go get them ladies – you will love them. Great quick reads! Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets.

I'm sad to see this series go, but I really loved the ending. I knew Bryce was my favourite of the boys. Call it my weakness for broken bad boys. The writing was really fast-paced and maybe a touch on the rushed side, yet I loved it and this whole story.

I knew I am going to like Bryce, I just didn't know how much. They came as a surprise couple and as usual Aubrey Irons outdid herself when it's about the hot scenes and all.Bryce had his past demons to fight with as well as Peyton and they found themselves when they needed someone to understand them. The book starts right off telling us that they had some sort of a relationship and Peyton ended it.Then Logan is kidnaped and I am still not sure why these guys are ghosts but not really since they're paying taxes and are public figures (?), and the only ones who can go after Logan would be Bryce and Peyton. In Istanbul they both manage to find their way together as a couple, clarify the issues of the past and come out strong.I couldn't understand what qualified Peyton in Bryce's eyes to consider her as a hard core woman because she just wined and complained, froze out and got jealous. Not my kind of heroine, even the sass didn't save her in my eyes.As I said, I liked Bryce, Peyton not as much with her attitude but this book was different from the others. Shorter and less details in the character's life and past. The book could have used a bit more of:- less passing over major things like they barely happened- more depth to the feelings the characters- more insight in the past. I wanted to know more about Bryce's addiction and what pushed him to get high. I know that in the previous books his addiction was explained, sort of but I wanted his POVBryce's relationship with Peyton was just mentioned like a taboo. It took them 3/4 of the book to get to speaking terms and I wanted more of them.I still do not understand how Peyton was capable of leaving him behind without an explanation and why Bryce didn't ask for one.The way Peyton "saved" Bryce and Logan had me puzzled. How did she do it it's still a mystery. Hence my comment about passing over major events like they didn't happened or like the author didn't know how to make them happen.I am not sure if Aubrey Irons will continue these series with Sacha. If she does then I would like to read more about the Archer clan. I like these guys.

This 212 page addition to the series is a potential standalone with an HEA, but it would be better if read from the first book, Heat, which gives background for the series. I've read the series from book one, recommend it and have it on my reread list. Bryce Connors: member of an MC at seventeen, Marine Corp deserter, drug addict, mercenary, recovering addict and corporate billionaire with a new identity at Archer Holdings..... Peyton Rivers: daughter of alcoholic mother, killed mother's abusive boyfriend at seventeen, rescued from jail by a half brother she didn't know she had, works for the same billionaire brother, Logan, at Archer holdings, and secret ex girlfriend of Bryce.... Bryce and Peyton were ready to take their relationship to the next level when she walked out on him without explanation a year earlier. Now they are at a corporate groundbreaking ceremony when a helicopter with men in black attacks and takes Logan. Blackriver, a mercenary group that works for the DOD, is behind the kidnapping and the Archer extended family wants Logan back. But he is a ghost, a man who doesn't exist and their friend Colonel Lawson can only provide Intel, not send in troops. Bryce volunteers to go after him, but so does Peyton, and when she's told no, she sneaks away to Istanbul anyway. Their only option now is to work together with a Blackriver insider to rescue Logan, knowing they have to make their move soon or Logan won't survive Benson, the madman running Blackriver. A man who never lets grudges go unpunished.

4.5* I really enjoyed this last book in the Soldier Of Fortune series. This one features Bryce and Logan's sister Peyton and had me gripped from the very beginning when Logan is kidnapped and Hudson is injured by the group of Mercenaries that all three used to associate with, and the tension continued from there when their friend Major Lawson announces he cannot help them get Logan back and that Chelsea and boyfriend Javier as employees of the Government can't get involved either. So it all falls to Bryce and Peyton to rescue Logan, however they have history together and plenty of demons which they both need to confront if they are to survive and save Logan.Overall this story was hot, suspenseful and really enjoyable to read and I am sad that the series has come to an end but I have certainly become a fan of Aubrey Irons and will be looking out for more books from her in the future. As for this one I would definitely recommend it, and out of the four this one is probably the one you could read and really enjoy without having read the rest of the series, but the entire series is really worth reading.

[1.75 stars] nothing more than a quick read. and i feel that the author is a bit lazy to write out some scenes which should be written out. for example chapter 22 we do of course finally drop from exhaustion, and it's then that we take the time to right the wrongs of our past.there are tears.she's crying when she tells me about that goddamn syringe in my bathroom that night; even more when i tell her about danny. and just like that, the sins of the past are brought bleeding and bloody to the surface, only to be shoved away; healed with the now.i think this part can be written out in a real conversation between peyton & bryce, not sure why the author didn't. either she is lazy or because she has reached the minimum no. of words required for this book so don't feel there is a need to write out.

Ty for another fantastic book Aubrey Irons! Your writing is always so refreshing, and such a nice change with your fiery characters! Bryce and Peyton a match made in heaven or..is it? Lol. They definitely have more in common then you would think, and are just great together! Both are fiesty characters and the way they head butt at times Wow! Of course there's plenty of sizzling moments that'll keep you warm, an action too! The storyline like the other books in the series was fantastic as was the plot. Highly recommended!

The is the final book in the Soldiers of Fortune series. This is the story of Bryce and Peyton. Unlike with the other books, it's best to read them before reading this book. The book is a quick read with a couple of steamy scenes. It was a good book, but seemed more like a long conclusion than another story. It compliments the other books well and brings a decent conclusion to the Archer Family.

Roar: Even though this was the last book I enjoyed it just as much as Scorch. If Peyton had just talked to Bryce in the beginning then they would have been able to stay together. COMMUNICATION is one of the keys to a healthy relationship! If your family really does love you then they'll accept the partner you pick. They might not like them but that's life. Read this series of books all back to back. Loved the 3 "brothers" Hudson, Logan and Bryce plus Javiers story. Cracking ex military - fast paced, rough + ready with plenty of sauce. What more could u want. Can't write much more without throwing in some spoilers - so won't but enjoy the read - read all 4 books in a couple of decent sittings.
