A scintillating and fun read! An engrossing prequel for BRAZEN, Book 1 in Avery's new B-Squad series! He'd started falling for her the moment she walked into Devil's Dip Gym. She'd KO'd him and there was no going back.BULLET PROOF is a very sexy romantic suspense read! While it was a quick read, the story didn't lack in the telling in the least with well-developed characters and an engrossing mystery. This is the tale of ultra-rich heiress Bianca Sutherland and gym owner Taz Hazard as Bianca will stop at nothing to find Gidget, her missing friend.Gidget is missing and Bianca isn't about to leave one of her sisters from St. Bernadette's Academy for Young Ladies, known by the students as 'St. B's Reform School for Rich Bitches Who Done Wrong', behind, even if she hadn't seen her for years. All signs point to a drug cartel being involved in Gidget's disappearance. Regardless, Bianca is determined to find her, no matter what it takes. To that end, she first determinedly undertakes a makeover to become a worthy combatant in a project nicknamed 'Operation-Make-Bianca-A-Bulletproof-Badass.' This step requires an awesome trainer and Devil's Dip Gym run by one hard Tax Hazard fit the bill perfectly. Taz agrees to take her on as a client supposedly to allow Bianca to obtain her state private investigation and security contractor license. But neither she, nor he, planned on their off-the-charts chemistry. Be forewarned that you should have a fan and a cold drink nearby when the couple attends a high-end orgy as the story opens. It only gets hotter from there...There wasn't a dull moment in this book. The couple's bantering was both scintillating and fun. While this installment is a MacKenzie family novella, it's also a prequel for Avery's new series, the B-Squad. You do not need to have read the MacKenzie series to enjoy it. Now, I can't wait to read more about Bianca's new private investigation company in BRAZEN, B-Squad Book #1!My full review is posted at Reading Between The Wines Book Club. With one of her best friends from the reform school she spent her teenage years in has gone missing, Bianca, has decided that if no one else will look for her she will. Gidget is glued to her phone and her dog and she is not around either of those. The police are blowing it off, her parents are too busy on vacation to be bothered and enough is enough. Already deciding to turn her life around Bianca is determined to find her friend. She has one step already in the progress of changing her image and that is working on her private investigator's license. She has been working out at Taz's gym for months now to become "bullet proof" and she is incredibly attracted to the former boxer. Taz has resisted the pull to Bianca up until the moment he walks in to one of TX sex parties and sees her talking up other men. He decides I'd she is wanting to play this game he will teach her a lesson. That lasts all of about 5 minutes, until the owners of this property takes an interest and now all he can think of is protecting her. What they both don't realize is that it is definitely going to take more than he realizes and decide to work together. Which is important considering they have both just been drugged. This novella is hot and sexy and funny and is the introduction of Taz and Bianca's B-Squad series. I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

An awesome introduction to a new series! And I love, love, love that it's the women who are the ones with the private investigation firm! Reminds me of Charlie's Angels

Reviewed by GeminiBullet Proof takes place in the world of Liliana Hart’s Mackenzie Family series and is nothing but sizzling sexuality through and through. There is a small amount of mystery/suspense but it’s straight up porn. The story literally starts out in the middle of an A-List Sex Party and heats up from there. This is the story of wealthy former boxer turned gym owner Taz Hazard and rich but not so bad girl Bianca Sutherland. Bianca has been working out at Taz’s gym for the past 6 months while she has been preparing to get her Private Investigator credentials and open up her own business. She is at the sex party following a lead that she hopes will help her find an old friend named Gidget who has gone missing. Taz intercepts her and ends up helping her on her mission which ends up being a little more than she bargained for. Although Taz portrays himself as a selfish pain in the butt, he genuinely has more than just carnal feelings for Bianca. Their attraction is evident and eventually they find release which may require several cold showers as you read along. The story may be short but the images will last for a while. Of course, it wouldn’t be a good romance without the necessary amount of baggage but I can say that I was at least intrigued by the drama although nothing could overshadow the sex.Bullet Proof is most definitely a quick and dirty read, pun intended. The passion was intense and the characters were interesting so I would love know what happens next as there were a lot of loose ends.**Received a copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed.**

Bianca may have been born with a silver spoon in her mouth but that didn't protect her family from tragedy and dysfunction. When she was shipped off to St B's boarding school when she eleven, she formed her own family. Fellow misfits banding together over their hatred of the school. But when the school is shut down and they scatter, she feels the loss of her friends.Deciding to do something more worthwhile with her life than being a lady who lunches, Bianca sets out to be the most bad@&* PI she can be. When she lands at Taz's gym, she can't believe her luck. He's tall, built and droolworthy but so off limits it hurts! But when her friend goes missing she can't rely on anyone but her to find out what happened. When she goes undercover at a high society "adult" club she did not expect to walk into Taz!Taz was a well known and successful boxer. But after his mentor died and he feels responsible, he settles after taking over his gym. He lusts after a client but sates himself with some adult entertainment. When he sees Bianca he just abouts has a coronary but when she quickly fills him in on Gidgets disappearance, she finds herself with a new partner! But when the after effects of a drug given to them without their knowledge leads to some interesting after party antics, they both realise that this "thing" they feel is two sided and go with it. As the danger mounts and the leads stack up to who is involved in Gidgets disappearance, more faces from Bianca's past pop up in the most unlikely places, with their own links to Taz and his "brothers".Brilliantly well written with characters with their own little foibles. I loved Taz and his reluctantly possessive attitude LOL. Bianca could have come over as a ballbuster but she was emotionally fragile and that took some of her edge off. I can't wait to meet the rest of the B-Squad series.

Taz and Bianca have been fighting their attraction for months, so when he finds her at an anything goes party dressed to kill, his inner caveman comes out to play and it's game on! Some extremely hot moments follow, but when they return to reality, how will they decide to go on? Will it they call it just a one night stand with some incredible memories or will one of them find a way to fight for more? These two people come from very different worlds and they are both fighting some personal demons, yet they just work when they are together. Bianca is intelligent, independent and determined to find a way to make a difference in the world starting with finding one of her best friends who has gone missing. Taz has come a long way from growing up on the streets but he feels as though he still has dues to pay after the death of his mentor. Bianca makes him question everything he has come to believe in the past few years, and when things get a little out of control in her search for Gidget with bullets flying and danger all around them, he has to make a decision about his future. This was a great novella and it sets up more stories to follow soon about Bianca's new company that she forms with some of her uniquely talented friends, and I can't wait to find out more particularly after catching a glimpse of what promises to be a fun and turbulent ride for her friend Vivi and one of Taz's brothers!

Read memorable quotes and tweet your favorite parts from this review on GraveTells here!Bullet Proof starts off with a rush of attraction between boxing star Taz Hazard and socialite Bianca Sutherland at an Eyes Wide Shut-style party. She's looking for a missing friend and—once he sees her there--he's trying to keep her out of trouble...the lethal kind. These two steam up the pages with their smokin' hot chemistry, and their cutting personalities make for a fascinating pairing, all snark and punch and determination. The plot arc is simple and straightforward, the ideal foundation for a book of this shorter length.Bullet Proof is the starter story for Avery Flynn's B-Squad series, set in Liliana Hart's MacKenzie Family universe, and it's a quick, hot read with a firecracker couple and memorable secondaries. The stage is well set for the real action to begin! Taz & Bianca's story continues in Brazen, first book in Avery Flynn's B-Squad series.

I have loved the MacKenzie series since I read the very first book, this idea to invite some other well known authors to write their own versions of a MacKenzie story could have been a mistake. But of the 2 I have read so far it hasn't been, they are a very good addition to the others and well worth reading. They are not direct family, more like colleague's or former Seals who still have attachments to one or more members of the family. Each have their own unique story to tell, that keep you on the edge of your seat with the suspense and tension of whatever quest the characters are involved with trying to solve. Although none of these books are overly long they do have a lot packed into them so are worth buying and reading and each adds another dimension to the main series. Each of the invited authors have done a creditable job, making the characters believable and in some cases blending extremely well with members of the family and security firm, to the point you forget that its not Lilianna Hart that wrote it.

Bianca Sutherland’s friend from boarding school is missing, and she thinks she could find information at Bisu Manor, a sex club. She’s convinced that clues lie in the owners’ art collection. Taz Hazard is a client of Bisu, and he is also her boxing trainer, and he doesn’t want to see her there. But he also wants her to himself. BULLET PROOF is Avery Flynn at her snarkiest, sassiest, and sexiest. The story itself is rather slim, but I loved the backgrounds on Bianca and Taz; there is a bit of action and a whole lot of sexy. Ms. Flynn’s descriptions and tone are so crisp and vivid, BULLET PROOF has the feel of a graphic novel. BULLET PROOF is the beginning of a new series that should be quite entertaining, and I do hope we see more of Vivian Yang; what a character! Well done, Ms. Flynn! Part of Mackenzie series. This story is about Bianca and Taz she goes to his gym and has hots for her. They see each other in a party and Taz already put a clame on her. She is not there to play and yes to find her missing friend that she not see for a long time. There is no action until the end. Its more about swtich infos and find her friend and Bianca who wants to do something good as building her own private investigation firm. The romance was cool but too suddenly. Taz was very alpha male towards her and he was too confusing he wants to share in the party but also wants her for him?!And after just one hot night he already love her? I dont like this reformed boy 'cause they have crazy monkey sex. This book is more like a prequel for the new series The B-Squad I actually like the name and funny too.

No matter how many of Avery's books I read I always find myself falling in love with her writing all over again. I'm never disappointed and this one was no exception. I just love the magic she weaves when creating her characters. The chemistry between Bianca and Taz is great and you can feel a connection. Things get really hot in this one. The suspense kept me on the edge of my seat and sucked me right in. This book is a novella in the Mackenzie Family. I could not put it down until I finished. The good thing is it could be read in one sitting, but on the other hand it was so good I wish it was longer. Though it does set up well for future books. Even the secondary characters are great!

I received this ARC for an honest review. This book was great! I love the hero and heroine and the way they interact. They have such great chemistry! The hero is an alpha male for sure. Likes to be in control and commands your attention. The heroine is feisty, confident and knows what she wants. The storyline is great. You've mystery and suspense and definitely a lot of sexy times. The only thing wrong is that I wish it was longer! I can't wait to read Brazen because it continues their story. I definitely recommend this book because it draws you in and doesn't want to let go!

This short little story grabs attention and I read it in one sitting. It was suspenseful, VERY sexy and the opening scene certainly had me sitting up straighter. The characters had chemistry! I love it when a female character can take care of herself. I love it just as much when her man insists on taking care of her. I look forward to reading more about Taz and Bianca in the coming B-Squad series because this one was too short. I wish it was a little longer.

Avery Flynn kicks off the introduction to her new series in a very unique way with Bullet Proof, but it’s one that you will certainly remember and one that will have you hooked to see where the story goes. I know I was captivated. I may have inhaled the novella because I was enjoying it so damn much. Taz and Bianca, the main characters will own you by the time you are finished. I absolutely loved these two. From their undeniable chemistry, to the reasons behind who they are and what they stand for, you will crush on them both hard by the end of the story. Yes they grew up in two totally different worlds, but they are very much alike in who they are at their core. Loyal to those they love. When Bianca realises her friend is missing and no one cares, she does the only thing she can do. She sets out to find her. Even if that means infiltrating a party that is more eye opening than she thought it would be. What she didn’t plan on was running into Taz, her trainer at the gym and the star of her oh so hot late night fantasies. “Kissing Taz was like having three shots of tequila before noon—wild, intense, and too delicious to spend any time considering whether or not it was a good idea.”The very last person Taz ever expected to see at this exclusive party is Bianca. The woman he can’t get out of his head. He’s managed to keep her out of his bed for this long but before long he’s tangled in her troubles and not fighting to get away or hold has on him. “He wanted her. He'd wanted her since the first time she strutted into his gym like she didn't just belong, she ruled the place.”Taz and Bianca have danced around their attraction for months and when they fall victim to a new drug, their attraction goes from zero to sixty in the space of a heartbeat. The inhibitions fly along with their clothes and things go from complicated to really complicated. "Screw you." His full lips curled into a smirk that could have gotten her pregnant if she hadn't been so pissed off. "Trust me, if we'd stayed at Bisu another five minutes, you would have been screwing me."But even in their darkest moments they are still drawn together and as they start to fall they have to find a way to find Bianca’s friend and stop a drug that will have horrid consequences from seeing the light of day. This novella is not only hot but it’s the perfect way to kick of a new series. I can’t wait to get my hands on the B-Squad books. If this taste is anything to go by, I have a new series to stalk. Avery Flynn has once again showed why she is on my no questions asked auto buy list. Bring on B-Squad!!I received a copy of this book for an honest review from the author.

When Taz finds Bianca at a party known for anything-goes types of encounters, she’s surrounded by guests that have anything but talking to her on their minds. Rushing in to exert his alpha-male status has them all scattering for easier, unprotected prey. It also lands Taz and Bianca right into the crosshairs of the hosts: Oliver and Amelia. When Bianca becomes absorbed in learning about the couple’s art collection, Tax knows there is an underlying reason. One of Bianca’s friend’s has gone missing and her only lead is a painting of Gidget’s that she knows was just acquired by Oliver. Now, Taz and Bianca are embroiled in a missing persons’ case that may involve power couple Oliver and Amelia and a very harmful new drug. Now, they have to figure out the links between Oliver and Amelia, Gidget, and the new drug before they end up a power couple’s sexy new playtoys.Amid the danger, a love so fierce blindsides both Biance and Taz. Taz has wanted her from day one but the chance encounter at the party pushes his fantasies into reality. When it’s discovered that their feelings are the result of drugs, Taz and Bianca try to chalk their lust and insatiable hunger for each other up to that…until they can’t. It’s hard to blame drugs when the feelings are just as intense when the drug has left their systems.Bullet Proof is an action filled novella that will have you so engrossed in the story that before you know it, you’re at the end. The storyline is engaging and the sex is H.O.T. Avery Flynn did a wonderful job writing another book that has emotional content that is realistic. The chemistry between Taz and Bianca is there (even without the drugs) front and center. I love their banter – his alpha-male persona and her ability to stand on her own two feet. This story is fun, sexy, and suspenseful. You will be drawn right in and kept engaged. I recommend Bullet Proof to those who love a fun romp with a suspenseful twist. 18+ only!Review copy provided to me at no cost in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Bianca Sutherland is desperate to find her friend, and when she catches wind that her friends disappearance is somehow connected to a painting that is hanging the exclusive Bisu Manor she decides a trip there is in order. Finding a way into the exclusive may prove to be tricky, but she is determined to find a way in, so she gets dressed in her sexiest dress and turns on her sex kitten charm. Just as she starts to make headway with her little mission it is intervened by none other than her crush/trainer Taz Hazard, and he isn't about to let her fall prey to rich vultures that are circling around her...Taz Hazard has plans to have a night of no strings attached fun at the exclusive Bisu Manor, he is in desperate need of a release, and is certain having a little fun between the sheets with a nameless woman is the perfect way to unwind. But just as he starts to seek out his fun for the night, he spots a very familiar face posing as a sexy siren, and he isn't about to let her fall prey to the rich fat cats that are currently circling her, if anyone is going to spend the night with her it's going to be him...This short, but oh so sexy, read captured my attention right from the start and had me flying right through the pages in search of what I hoped to be a hot and spicy happy ending... and I am happy to report that I got my wish.. and a whole lot more!! Taz and Bianca instantly pulled me into their world and had completely mesmerized by their intensely passionate words and smoldering chemistry. I have to say that this is by far one the hottest reads I have ever read from Ms. Flynn, she completely outdid herself with this one...it was scorching hot and oh SO satisfying!!! If you like your romance a little naughty, with a touch of mystery, and lots of spice...this is the perfect read for you!! Highly recommend it!!ARC given in exchange for a honest and unbiased review.

This is part of the MacKenzie series by Liliana Hart "Being one of the good guys is not my thing." Taz HazardMeet the lovely Bianca Sutherland. Bianca isn't at an exclusive Eyes-Wide-Shut style orgy for just the orgasms. Bianca’s there because of the only clue to one of her friend’s disappearance is a photo of a painting. A painting that is hanging somewhere in Bisu Manor. Bianca is so determined to find her missing friend when no one else will and not even her friends parents offer to help. Bianca expects trouble when she sneaks her way into the elite party. Not in the form of a panties-dropping-sexy former boxer. Former boxer Taz Hazard. Taz’s only concern is looking out for number one (himself), Taz has no intention of changing his ways. That is until he finds sexy-as-hell Bianca at one of the most notorious mansion in Ft. Worth. Now, Taz’s tangled up in a missing person case tied into a powerful new drug. The new powerful drug that is about to flood the streets. If Taz and Bianca can’t find a way to stop it from hitting the streets before it's too late. Unfortunately taking on a drug cartel isn’t the safest thing to do. When passion starts to ignite between Taz and Bianca discover their hearts definitely aren’t bulletproof either. Will Taz and Bianca stop this new powerful drug in time and can they find their happy ever afterAvery Flynn is a new author to me but reading this book i'm sure to be reading more of her books. Avery and Liliana make a good team. 5* book

BULLET PROOF is a short, hot, sexy read by Avery Flynn, part of the MacKenzie Family series by Liliana Hart. Bianca is a strong heroine. She could've been a pampered socialite and she could've gone on to have an easy life, but she chose to change her life so that she could help people. Her family background was touched upon, but not in any depth, so it's safe to say she had turned her back on it. She had insane chemistry with Taz, and whenever they're together, the scenes were hot, hot, hot. One warning though: there's a lot of sex scenes here for a novella. The mystery/suspense is decently done, and reading this has fired my interest to see how it would span out. So yes, a cliffhanger here in that the mystery is not solved; in essence, we're only given a taste. While the villains in this book were dealt with, we know there's a mastermind who has not shown his face yet. And even as this is part of the MacKenzie Family series, BULLET PROOF is also the first book in a new series by Avery Flynn. While this is a spin-off from the MacKenzie Family series, I don't see any MacKenzie in this novella, except that Bianca is also training with MacKenzie Security for her new role. Of course, since I haven't read any MacKenzie story prior to this, I could be wrong. Overall rating 3.5 stars. Original review at The Romance Reviews

Bulletproof is a novella that was part of the MacKenzie family and serves as a prequel to Avery Flynn’s new B-Squad series. This was a short, fast-paced, action-filled read that introduces us to Bianca and Taz and sets the stage for the first full length novel in the B-Squad series, Brazen, as well as gives the background on why the B-Squad gets started. This was a quick read that focused on setting the stage for the search for Bianca’s friend Gidget. There were definitely some steamy times between Bianca and Taz, and there is no doubt these two have some serious chemistry that just may have them both rethinking what they want and need. Both Bianca and Taz have some issues from their past that have shaped them, and once they cross the line and give in to the chemistry that is between them these two really burn up the page.I also loved meeting Taz's friend Keir and Bianca's friend Vivian, who it turns out have been working together for a while and seem to live to annoy one another. Introducing these two into the story really helped give a glimpse into some of the backstory for the B-Squad (and has me anxiously awaiting their story...because you just know these two are going to be a great read!)I definitely enjoyed this one and look forward to more in the series!I received a copy of this book from NetGalley for an honest review.

#1 It is a A MacKenzie Family Novella and anything and everything Liliana Hart writes, I want to read. And #2 more important than even this being a MacKenzie World book is that it is written by none other than Avery Flynn, whom I adore. This story is incorporated in to the Mackenzie world flawlessly and fits into the original style of writing in which we all fell in love with Liliana Hart's MacKenzie's in the first place. Avery has a flare for snarky and genuine Heroine’s and Hero’s that are not stick dumb. Stubborn maybe, but not dumb. I love a hero who can be honest with himself even if he keeps it to himself (which is where most of the chuckles come from, silly men). Not only is this book one of the first released in the new MacKenzie Family, it is also the first book in a new series by Avery Flynn called the B-Squad. This story tells the tale of an Ex-Boxer and A Scorned Socialite. The action packed story is a great first in a series. The H/h are perfect together and with all the Flynny Flair you would expect from a Avery Flynn book, it has all the things that make a great romance. Heat, Snarkieness, Action, Mystery, Intrigue, Smexiness Galore and a Great Story. I can now wait for Brazen to release in early February to find out what Avery has in store for the B-Squad... I give this book: 5 Candi Kisses

LOVED this romantic suspense read!!Bulletproof drew me in from the first page, and I couldn't put it down. Bianca is a strong, sexy heroine, who is trying to make right some demons from her past. Taz is a hot, retired boxer, who has his own demons he's trying to deal with. The chemistry between the two is sizzling, and add in the bantering back and forth makes it even hotter. The suspense elements are great, and had me wondering how it was all going to go down (and it so didn't happen the way I thought it would). A phenomenal read that I definitely recommend one clickingI loved A Friendly Flirtation.Allison is a bit of a geeky, sweet heroine, who is looking for a makeover so she doesn't blend. Jared is big brother's best friend, business partner, and all around hottie. This book starts out a bit awkward between both characters, but soon it becomes clear to Jared that there is a lot more to Allison than just being his best friends little sister. I loved that their relationship grew from acquaintances, to friends, then to lovers. It was awesome to see Allison emerge out of her shell, and see what she was worth (and I'm so glad Jared stepped up and went for what he wanted, no matter the cost)I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a great romance read!!
