I didn't enjoy this as much as the first two in the trilogy. Possibly this is because it is some years after I read the first two, but I believe it may have had more to do with the characters. This story is focalised through Jimmy's friend, Gracie, who is not a fawg but a frog, trying to make sense of Jimmy's stories and the human things that happen around her. Princess Sally was one of the most annoying characters I've come across and the story just seemed to be going over ideas/themes covered in the first two (and I had thought definitively resolved in book 2) - is it better to be a frog or a human? what is family? etc. Gracie's coming of age was well-delineated and the story also provides a happy ending for Jade.

This is a sequel to Napoli's pretty decent take on the Frog Prince fairy tale. In my opinion, that story was wrapped up quite nicely and the addition of this sequel did nothing to add to the story. In fact, I really think that Napoli should not have written a sequel. That's not to say that the book was bad. In fact, it was quite cute, more so than the original because the annoying lisp did not appear except for a few pages. In summary, this book isn't bad but I don't think it should have been written.

Cute ending to the series, if not entirely up to the level of the first one.
