A population divided by those still fully human, those part machine and those who are both dead and alive at the same time, what it means to be truly human has already been long forgotten. Enter one man who knows. Encased in cryo-stasis for three hundred years, his connection to the past could potentially save the human race from extinction once again, if he can stay alive long enough. Not air tight but air worthy. Good read. Good plot. Not much language/no sex. Refreshing. Four centuries in the future and they're still high fiving? I hope not.

I gave up reading 3/4 of the way through the book. I detest reading the same paragraph more than once in a book. If a creature, an item, or a view has been described once, and the narrative comes to said creature, item or view, DO NOT plug in the the same paragraph used 85 pages ago!!!! It is as if the author spent a great deal of time creating a few "perfect" paragraphs, with all the detail the mind could imagine. Then any time the creature, item or view appears, the "perfect" paragraph is replayed.Good premise for the story. Good opening ... it hooked me. But, after 200 pages, poor character development, and some seriously implausible situations, I quit. Wasted a major part of my weekend.I'm glad this was part of my Kindle Unlimited. I'm beginning to question the utility of the program.

What can I sayThis book is of the highest possible class.Even though centred in the future, after a sad fair well in the present, this book just takes of.The description of the place in the future was so well described you, could actually fell as if you were there. The story is fantastic, no lack of adventure, with plenty of twists and turns. Many times I tried to pick the bad guy, but it wasn't till about 6 pages before the end I picked him.Until then I was absolutely enthralled, and engrossed in the book.A absolute must read, even if you do not like Sci-Fi.

Nice workThis title was a good weekend read. Plot and characters where well fleshed out. The main character is likeable and easy to root for, though some of the ancillary characters could have used a few more lines in either backstory or to move the plot.

Excellent story. The book tells the story of a man frozen and reanimated four hundred years later. The characters are interesting and the plot keeps one guessing until the end. The technology of the future is described and medical breakthrough s.

I loved this book!I really enjoyed this book! It was honest look at the future and how the problems there aren't so different from the problems we have today. I intend to read the - series :)

Loved this book! A suburb book. Wound with action and intrigue. The author carefully weaved the plot so at any one time you might figure out what was going to happen but there were surprises around every corner.

A new author for me and a good oneI really enjoyed my first venture with Mr. Crawford. A great story even if it did start a bit slowly. Wonderful character development with a great twist. I loved it!

An enjoyable read, different to many of the space operas I read but in a good way, intrigued to read more if it becomes a series, hopefully sticking to the theme of this book and solving crimes both on Earth and the orbital cities

Our hero is revived after being in cryostasis for 400+ years. It just so happens there is an attempt on his life shortly after. A little bit of Buck Roger's (he slept a long time too), a little bit of whodunnit, and a little bit of space combat. So there's enough here to keep me interested. I saw there is a sequel; but if you want a stand alone story, this will work.

Very thin on science and just following a plotHe's got a geosynchronous orbit at 300 km, has no conception of how conservation of momentum and kinematics work. At one point gecko shoes are supposed to pull someone down.On the plus side he writes ok although he tends to use big words where others work as well, hey it's free.

Awful Start, Could Not Continue-DNFI had to bail from this book at page 31, as the writing was barely readable, storyline m.i.a., and the editing amateurish. If an author cannot establish the minimal framework of a plot and storyline by 10% of a eBook's beginning, why should a reader bother to continue? The level of this eBook and most others in the SciFi category show a total disregard for professional product creation. Additionally, so many reviews of higher ratings seem "tainted" and untrustworthy, that I now only consult reviews that are 3 stars or less, hoping to find decent to read.

Good story that needs a real editorThe story and characters were very compelling in this sci-fi police adventure. However, the manuscript itself is not ready for prime time. That is very distracting for me, and I know I'm not alone. There are many misspellings, misuses of words, incorrect grammar in the narrative (not dialog), and even the duplication of an entire description, word for word. A good editor helps a good writer become great, and this story is worth saving. I strongly urge the author to pay a professional editor to work with him on this manuscript.

This book is an example of how an exciting science fiction plot can become dry and boring because of clunky pace and lazy writing. The laziness is exemplified in two instances where the exact same paragraph is used in two different places to describe a space jail and an alien. The references to Star Trek seem force-fitted (a holographic doctor and a visor a la Geordi la Forge? Really?) and there is no dearth of plot holes in the book. Three stars for the imagination, but that's as far as I can go.

Old Ironsides a great readMr Crawford creates a wonderful future world along with an exciting plot to keep you engaged and entertained. He brings life to Nathan Ironsides a 400 year old man saved by cryogenic suspension after his death by an exotic plague. I highly recommend this action packed story.

Meh. The story gets unnecessarily complicated, with twists within twists, and I really forced to finish this one. And the editing on my Kindle edition was terrible. Multiple spelling mistakes. Really?

Novel idea but quickly turned to space opera.A quick read which is entirely plot driven. Plot quickly became very complex and unrealistic. I don't mind melodrama, but it needs to tie together naturally.

I really got into these characters. Would it be considered a literary classic probably not, but it was a great escape, and the ending really surprised me. Wasn't who I thought it was.

OkDecent enough to finish reading, some novel and interesting ideas. Action sequences quite shaky, more contrived than the plot line. Author is evolving.
