Of Water by Cordi Vidae a sublime five star read. This is part of the Erotica under the glass – She’s on the bottom series and it is only a short novella, but Cori Vidae has an amazing talent for writing a great story with the least amount of words, I have loved everything I have read by this author. The stories are steamy, but they usually come with a darker side as well. In this story, we meet Mara who is going through some dark times, and struggling to stay afloat. It’s worth a read, it won’t take long but the end is worth it.

5 StarsOf Water is a novella in the Erotica Under Glass: She’s on the Bottom series by Cori Vidae. It is a very quick, easy and tantalizing tale full of life, love, sadness, regret, mysteriousness, wonder and a little hope. I was swept up into this story and wasn’t ready for it to finish so soon. The story introduces us to Mara who has had a devastating situation occur. She is grasping for a tether of some kind that she can hang onto as her world spins out of control. She seeks the comfort and calm that the ocean usually provides her. Mara wades out into the water and into an experience that will change her perspective entirely and leave her with a new appreciation. A great tale that I would love to see expanded into a full length novel.Thank you Ms. Vidae!

Of Water is part of the Erotica Under The Glass series by Cori Vidae. This is my first novel by this author.Mara is trying to find a tethering after losing her husband, Jeff and burying her daughter Payton. She seeks comfort in the water. She swims out and realizes that she swam too far. “She, Mara, she was of water. It was her element. Payton, however, Payton was of fire. Raising her alone was difficult, their natures the opposites of one another. It was difficult but they muddled through. Sometimes, when it was at its most challenging, when Payton’s fiery nature steamed all her patience away and calm explanations turned to screaming recriminations, Mara would flee the house, the person she’d become, and seek refuge in the sea. She would plunge herself into its depths, become weightless, free, or sit on the rocks, and watch the waves, the sea life–sometimes she even thought the seals looked sympathetic to her struggles. Or, one seal anyway.”While raising her daughter was difficult at times, the good times they had together outweighed the bad times.“Then cancer had stolen it all away. Burning through Payton’s body hot and fast as a wind-whipped forest fire. In a handful of months it had consumed decades of time Payton should have had. Hollowed her out like a drum until only her shell remained. The shell Mara had buried that afternoon.”While reading, I wasn't sure what was going on. The writing was engaging but I wasn't following what was going on. After reading it again, I understood it and was more interested.I will definitely read more by this author. Im hoping this becomes a full story. Im curious what happens after.

Of Water by Cori Vidae is a nice short story. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars. Although I want to know more of this story and what will happen, the book was still a great read.

Mara loses her husband, and then in the opening of the book we find Mara burying her recently deceased daughter. She now has nothing and no one and in a panic takes off her clothes and dives in the ocean. She swims very far out until realizing she is way to far away from land and its the dead of night. She realizes she will probably die out in the ocean and at least tries her hardest to make it back to land.

While swimming hard to reach the tiny island in front of her, a man in the water appears out of no where and grabs onto her. She feels like she is definitely going to die but then realizes, he has taken them to shore and they are naked. Sexy things ensue and suddenly it is the next morning. Mara is crying and the man leaves her and disappears back into the ocean. She is left confused as well as still being naked. She then sees a ship and tries to flag it down, not sure what will become of her life anymore…

This was a short book but I still enjoyed this story because the sexy scene was very nice and I wanted to know more about how Mara is going to go on. I hope there will be another installment because I would love to know what happens with Mara and this mystery man from the sea.

Of Water (Erotica Under Glass) by Cori Vidae5 StarsThis is my second story by this author, and she has such a way with words and can take just a few pages and tell a whole story. Although I ended craving more, it was still enough. We meet Mara on the beach, depression has taken a hold of her. She has loved and lost and doesn't know how to go on. She strips away her mourning clothes and wades out into the ocean. As she watches the lights from her house fading, she realizes she has gone too far and does all she can to get back to shore. She's so tired and it seems the ocean is pulling her out further with every effort she makes to save herself. Then appears a man who gets her to a small piece of land, she knows this is not just a man but much more. This is a short story about fighting your back from depression and loss. Rediscovering the will to live and having the strength to move on.This author's writing style has me needing a full length novel, I will be checking out all of her other work. She is amazing!

Of Wet by Cori Vidae is a lovely short story. As the start of this short book, it was a book that you have to keep your full attention on it and it was a wee bit unusual and confusing but it intrigued me to read more. I feel it would have started differently and with more of a context background. I enjoyed how the author was able to describe with a lovely description the idea of a woman Mara standing by the sea on a beach. Mara’s husband Jeff working on a ship and he was lost at sea, leaving Mara and her daughter Payton. Mara was in mourning after her daughter Payton, who had cancer had passed away. She swam out in the sea and lost her way. Mara was thinking she was going to die when a man came out of nowhere and takes her to shore. They are both naked and sexy things happen, Mara wakes in the morning and the man leaves via the sea. Mara is confused and still naked. She sees a ship and waves to get help. This short story was what unfolded as Mara entered the sea.

Book Review: Of WaterAuthor: Cori VidaeFive StarsVery short very quick book about a woman who has suffered great loss in her life. This short story seems to encapsulate the very meaning of depression and being in such a deep dark place that it seems there is no hope. Then when you are in the depths of despair you realize you don't want to be sucked into the black darkness and all you need or want is for someone to make you feel alive again. The heroine in this book seems to have been found just in the nick of time. Yes it may seem like it is just for the one time yet what you can find in that one moment, can last a lifetime and give you hope for the future. For me, today of all days, the day before the 16th anniversary of losing my brother, my best friend, this story gives me hope. To know there is something and maybe even someone out there somewhere who will make me feel alive again.Thank you Cori Vidae. Today of all days I really needed this read.Kelli Harper.

Of Water by Cori Vidae is a short story in her Erotica Under Glass:She's On The Bottom series. This book was a very quick read and I wished there was more to it. The story is not all that complex but I think there is a lot more in between the lines stuff that not everyone would get in such a short story. I found it to be quite poetic in the way it was written. It was quite a haunting tale that gave off quite a bit of beauty in the few pages it has.As it is such a short story I will not talk about the plot but I will say that author has very cleverly written this book in a way that I feel that they story could be a metaphor for other things. It is open to interpretation as to what the point is so each reader will have a slightly different experience with it.Emotions come rushing through in this story and it really drives them home to you. A good read.

Of Water (Erotica Under Glass) by Cori Vidae is a story about depression and emotional struggles that the character Mara is going through. She is struggling to stay afloat but when one man helps her, will she be saved? Will she rediscover her will to live? I love this author creative writing style and the way that she can pull you in from the first word. This is a short story but it tells a whole lot during the few pages. One of the things I love about this author's characters is that they are connectable and true to life. You are guaranteed to get an adventure with all of her characters and this one is no different. Her stories are always red hot and burning your fingers as you turn the pages. You won't want to miss this story, this author will not let you down. You will need to see how this story ends!

Of Water (Erotica Under Glass series) by Cori Vidae. 5 stars! In all honesty I do not know how this author writes such wonderful stories in so few pages! They really are great little reads and Of Water was no exception. I actually think this was my favourite to date! As always it was fast paced but even though it is fast I still found that after I had finished it I still felt like I had read a whole story. The characters were well developed in such a short space of time. Her writing is always steamy but so well written! This story was just so emotional yet beautiful. The main character Mara is at a point where she is questioning everything after a very tragic event. She finds herself at peace with the sea but soon discovers she has gone a lot farther than she anticipated. As always I will be eagerly awaiting the next part in this delightful series by Cori Vidae.

Of Water is a novella in the Erotica Under Glass: She’s on the Bottom series by Cori Vidae. This short story is a quick read, but every word is meaningful and to the point. I loved this short story! This enthralling tale left me wishing there were more!We follow our main character, Mara, as she talks about dealing with her husband’s death when their child was still young. Then, having to deal with watching her child waste away due to cancer. The author is wonderful at making the reader feel such great loss in such few words. Distraught, after her daughter’s funeral, Mara plunges into the ocean where she feels the most at peace. I really enjoyed how this short story left it up to the reader to figure out what was going on with Mara. Go with Mara as she grieves her loss and learns how to move on from such a tragedy.

I give Of Water by Cori Vidae 4 stars.Mara has lost everything that she held dear. Now she is all alone. While grieving, she felt the call of the ocean. Water always called to her, calmed her. Now she is compelled to step out of that horrible dress and swim her troubles away in the calming waves. When she can swim no more, she comes across a man. It seems impossible, but there he is. Can he be the balm to soothe her soul? This short story was wonderful. Erotica, with a little bit of fantasy twist, it was just the right length to tell the story, yet leave you yearning for more. I hope there is more to come about these characters. I highly recommend this short story to wet your appetite and satisfy you.

Of Water is a short novella by Cori Vidae. The story is part of her Erotica Under Glass projects. The ocean can be a very calming place for many people. The rhythmic lapping of the waves on the sand can be mesmerizing and take you to another place. Sometimes helping you forget your problems, if only for a little while. Which is exactly what Mara is trying to do. On one of the worst days of her life, she is looking to the sea to soothe her soul. And just as the ocean can be helpful, it can also be harmful. Getting lost in herself in the ocean, Mara realizes she has swam too far. Will she be able to pull herself out of the water? Out of this depression? This was a good short story. Finding yourself after your world falls apart is difficult and sometimes seems impossible.

Of Water – Erotica Under Glass by Cori Vidae – 5 starsLoss. Love. Depression. Grief. Rebirth. This 14 page short story held such power. Cori Vidae has a way of writing that makes me feel like I’ve read a full length novel in a few quick minutes. Of Water reminded me of an old tale involving a male selkie and instead of power taken FROM him, he GIVES power - the power to go on in life and realize that it’s going to be ok.I just realized I’ve written the word POWER in this review 4 times. That’s my interpretation of the theme of this story. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

This short story is both heart breaking and reviving at the same time. Cori Vidae has a way with words where she can bring you into her world in under 20 pages. Of Water is part of Erotica Under Glass, which are very short stories written to tease the reader. At least this reader she did. I would love to read a longer story by Vidae because, wow, if she can bring out these types of feelings in a short story I can’t imagine how a full length novel would be! I am definitely recommending Of Water.

Cori Vidae has a way with words and has written a compelling story with Of Water. This book is almost poetic. The story is a bit on the darker side dealing with depression but done in a beautiful way. This is a very very short novella that was very well written and left a punch. It was sad yet mysterious with hopelessness yet hope. Mara is at a crossroad in life. Her world is no longer what she needs. Everything she loves has gone. If I just step into the water everything will be better. However as she is saved by a mystery man she decides she wants to live.

Of Water (Erotica Under Glass), by Cori Vidae, is an erotic romance short story. Despite this being a very short story it was highly detailed, fully emotionally and poetically flowed. I enjoyed it so much that I really wish there was much more to this story so that it did not end too soon and I would be able to enjoy it even longer. I found the story being told to be very romantic in where the woman ends, despite a life filled with loss and grief. This was a lovely written read.

EMOTIONAL, SEXY‼Wow! This is going to be hard to review because it is short and full of raw emotion! Cori Vidae’s writing is so good you feel every word she has put on the page her descriptions grab you heart and soul. Mara’s life is dark, sad with gut wrenching pain. The ocean is her only connection to the darkness with in her. Will the ocean’s blackness swallow her and her life or will she be rescued? Don’t miss this read. I want more it is that good‼
