This book touched me in ways I didn't expect. I really hope it does the same for you! More Than Money was a story about two people suddenly blessed with material wealth but were already rich in many ways. What happens when people win the lottery? Hopefully more people will follow Ryan and Collette's example.I absolutely fell in love with these characters. Ryan and Collette meet on the winners' cruise and their connection was electrified and instantaneous. Their banter was hilarious and had me laughing many times throughout their story. I even loved Les and Neil (Collette's brothers) and I'm hoping they'll get their own stories some day *wink* The dynamic between the characters was realistic and also something to be envied. And there was so much love! Ryan fit himself seamlessly in their lives that it was hard to remember at times that their relationship was still pretty new. I guess that's just what happens when everything clicks.Well-written. Well-developed plot and characters. Even the flashback chapters were phenomenal and added great depth to the backstory of the characters. This story was about life, pain, family, friends, hopes and dreams, blessings, and love. So much freaking love. The world really does need more Ryans!!An ARC was generously provided in exchange for an honest review

Another blind read, where I skipped the blurb entirely and just jumped right in. This was kind of a slow burn and there were a few times when I was thinking "Where is this going? Are we just taking a lazy drive through a sugary sweet romance?" But it was such a sweet romance that I wasn't gonna stop reading, I just wasn't sure where we were headed. And then we GOT THERE and the pay-off was the cherry on top. There's not much character development - these people are who they are from beginning to end. But the characters were lovely. I adored Colette's generosity and kindness, and Ryan was great because he was such a good guy. These two people, and even the secondary characters, were very real to me. Idealized versions of real people, but real nonetheless. The sex was incredibly steamy and the drama was a bit of quick and dirty suspense. I was taken by complete surprise, though looking back on it I feel like I should have known something was up. I was just too wrapped up in the lives and romance of Colette and Ryan to pay attention. My only complaint is that there is this 'fate' thing at the very end that I definitely rolled my eyes over. It wasn't necessary and it ratcheted things up from being sweet to being just a little bit corny. But it's not enough to make me alter my rating.I'm not sure if this is the type of book I would recommend to my friends/followers - I dunno if any of them are into the sugary sweet contemporary romances. But I would say this is an ideal book to relax with in a bubble bath or when you need a dose of sugar to cleanse the palate after a dark and gritty story. I legit feel like I've taken an upper and I'm floating on a cloud of love while puppies frolic around and look at me with heart-shaped eyes. Wouldn't be surprised if a rainbow just burst through my living room right now.

Wow! This book blew me away. I can't believe this is a debut novel. Allison Michaels obviously has a talent for writing and I can't wait to read more from her. The way she handled the alternating POVs was unique and clever, and it totally worked. The chemistry between the main characters was great and I loved the secondary characters too. Well done!!Favorite quote:"Under normal circumstances, a forehead kiss turned me into a grinning fool. I wasn't sure why, but they were more potent to me than a lip-lock. Perhaps it was because they were rarely given and the delivery usually involved Collette going up on tiptoe. The extra effort turned a peck between the eyes into a deliberate, meaningful act."Swoon!

Last night I posted this on Instagram:Just finished More than Money by Allison Michaels while Will had soccer and it was so perfect! The banter between the main characters reminded me of Heart Shaped Hack!Guys, I LOVED this book so much! Ryan and Collette were fantastically well-written main characters! I just can't say enough about this book, and I was so excited to see that this is the start of a series. Might we get a book on Collette's brothers Neil and Les? I place my vote for Neil to be the next focus.**I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book**

"She was a bright light, and I was a moth skittering around her, naturally drawn to her radiance and warmth."I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!  This book had such a unique twist but yet so modern that you can't help but fall in love with MTM as well as Ryan and Collette.Have you ever wandered what it would be like to win something such as the lottery?  I have but yet at times I also, think back and wander if I ever did would it change me?  Would having all that money to do as I wish change me and what I know is right?  It's a fantasy we all have I am sure winning millions but for Ryan and Collette both this reality came true.   In MTM you are taken on a journey through both their eyes on what winning millions can do to a person."I closed my eyes and willed back the tears, because while the cash would fill the whole in my bank account, it couldn't plug the whole in my heart."We all go through loss and hardships in our lives but some worse than others.  In Ryan and Collette's case they both have won at different moments in their lives but their experiences are both the same as are different.Collette is no stranger to hardship.  She has loss a lot all her life and has been thrown in situations she never thought she would have to face while a child.  Now grown- if this has done anything it's taught her a valuable lesson in grace and modesty.  She knows what it's like to have everything taken away in second so she vows to do all she can to give back in her future.Ryan lives from day to day--just going about his norm and working and hanging with those he loves until one day a coworker buys him a scratch off ticket and his whole world changes.  He first refuses the ticket and wants no part in it because a man like him never will win--until he takes the plunge and scratches off the ticket all to find out he did----HE WON!!He settles in to his new life but soon as everything seems to take off for him a friendship he once valued strongly turns sour.  Ryan sees now what monetary things do people.  Changes them but as his friendship turns sour his relationship with Collette is anything but sour.  It's blossoming into something beautiful.  Ryan notices everything about her from the moment he layed eyes on her on the cruise to now.  She is so different and as he learns more about the mystery of who Collette Russo is the more he loves about her.  These two see that there is way more to life than just monetary things and hope to bring this into their future--Together."Tiny crystals clinging to her hair and eyelashes sparkled like diamonds whenever they caught a beam of light from the fixture next to the patio door."This is Allison's debut novel believe it or not and had I not that in the beginning I would have never known--that's how developed her characters are in her writing.  Her writing is spot on you can see the passion off the words off the pages through each chapter of this book.  This book is close to reality with all the hardships these two face from selfishness to loss.I encourage everyone to read this book.  You won't be disappointed.5 star review!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This book isn't my typical type of read, but I am so glad that I decided to give it a chance. This is a fun contemporary romance set around wonderfully developed characters that made for a story full of heart and emotion with plenty of laughs and a few tears along the way. From the very beginning I fell in love with Ryan's voice. He was funny, down to earth, relate able and frankly all of this together made him down right swoon worthy in a way that I would not have expected had someone described him to me beforehand. It took me a slightly longer moment to warm up to Collette and get a feel for her character but inevitably I found myself rooting for her and her relationship with Ryan pretty much the whole way through this book. I also really loved the characters of her brothers Les and Neil and I really hope that as this is the first in a series we will end up seeing more from those two in the future. Overall the characters where the heart and backbone of this story. The plot revolved around your emotional attachment to them and the workings of their lives. The pace never falls flat because the author chooses all the right moments to reveal each piece of the emotional puzzle that is this novel. The flashbacks and clues to bigger plot threads all blend together perfectly and made it easy for this somewhat tame story to keep me interested from the beginning all the way through to the last page. I look forward to reading more from this author and hopefully more from these characters in the near future.

I've been meaning to read this book for quite a while but haven't had the chance. I'm so glad I found the time. Collette and Ryan were great characters. They meet on a cruise boat after both winning the lottery, and hit it off really well making for an awesome relationship. Throughout the story, I find out numerous things, like who the little boy was at the accident, and why Collette was attacked? I had assumptions but wasn't entirely sure. I thought this was a great story.

Omg! I totally fell in love with this book! It's not just the sappy sweet stuff you expect from a title like this. It's about a girl, her two brothers and the man she falls in love with. After reading this story, I'm chopping at the bit to read her brothers stories as well! I'm definitely keeping an eye on this author! Read it now!!! That's an order!!

OMG! I loved this book so much! At first I wasn't sure where it went but it all so fit together perfectly. Every detail in this book had a reason to be there. And it all led to an amazing story that I couldn't stop reading. I did hope my suspicion about a certain detail was true. And it was ;) But, seriously, this was one of the most amazing books I've picked up this year and it certainly won't be the last from this author because she is definitely amazing!

Funny, emotional and wrapped in feel good…This is the first novel by this author and I admit to being very disappointed… that there isn’t a backlist a mile long! This romance that has all the feels and more as I laughed and I cried through it all, simply blown away by this deceptively simple tale…Ryan wasn’t a billionaire or a tycoon. He crunched numbers for a living, his cubicle job kept fresh by the fact he liked what he did and made sure he did it to the best of his ability. Mid-afternoon caffeine hits didn’t hurt either. Little did he know that an unexpected lottery win was going to bring the greatest joy to his satisfying yet very average life. You would think the money would change him but in fact it was Collette that would wreak the best havoc in his life. Collette was a bright burst of energy even coming from a place of sadness. She was centered in compassion for her fellow man and with a love of family and life that knew no bounds. Together they were funny and sweet, and made the ordinary seem extraordinary…“She was a bright light, and I was the moth skittering around her, naturally drawn to her radiance and warmth.”This story was told from dueling point of views as their courtship encompassed work, family and the stresses and joys that their unexpected windfalls bring. They were normal, with no outrageous attitudes or expectations even in their newfound wealth. Through a series of flashbacks, Collette’s past is slowly revealed, shedding light on what shaped her and her family. Bittersweet and sad, there was no time for melancholy as laughter and happiness overrode the tears…And it wasn’t just Collette and Ryan that shone so brightly. Family plays a huge part in their story and Neil and Les were brothers I wanted for my own. Together they all were a whirlwind of fun and laughter amidst the pain and sorrow that is… life. An unexpected twist at the end brings drama and even further revelations to a story that made me flip pages faster than I really wanted to. I wanted this story to never end….This is the first in the series and I will be camped over here impatiently waiting for more. More please!

More than Money by Allison Michaels is a wonderful read! The story revolves around Ryan and Collette, who both win lottery tickets on a one time lottery ticket buy. Ryan's is bought by an officemate and Collette buys her own with help from 2 construction workers. They meet on a lottery winners cruise and begin dating. We meet Collette's brothers Les and Neil, and an adorable dog named Oscar. Ryan and Collette fall in love and we follow them through their lives, including Ryan's promotion, and Collette finishing school, while they both help with the foundation Collette and her brothers have started. I love that there is no angst with this pretty love story. There are some twists and they make the book so very good. Just a very enjoyable read, and I have recommended this book to all my romance reading friends. The love scenes are well done as is the writing. Easy to read and a delight.

This book starts off with the hero, Ryan working a steady 9-5 job and just trying to get by day by day. His co-worker buys him a scratch off even though he doesn't want it, or believe his chances of winning are anything to write home about. He meets Collette on a lottery winner's get together on a yacht. Collette and Ryan start dating shortly after and Ryan meets Collette's brothers, Neil, and Les. Her brothers being over protective, Ryan has to show them that he is not with her because of the money that she won off of the lottery. it was a great book, with a super interesting plot, the characters are well developed, and you feel for Ryan, as a poor everyday slob like the rest of us. This story keeps you reading. With scenes that could be something out of everyday life that. This book will make you laugh and cry. ***ARC provided for a Honest review***

More than money was a sweet easy read with a cast of lovable characters and an amazing Storyline. The characters had great chemistry and the secondary characters added an extra dash of fun. I love that despite all the challenges that Collette has faced in life, her generosity and caring for others hadn't been damaged. My favorite part of this book was the witty banter and slow building flashbacks. Definitely a must for anyone's TBR list!

Words that come to mind when I think of this book: unique, emotional, refreshing, sexy, and at times, surprising. When I first learned about More Than Money I was intrigued. The premise is so unique and I wanted to see the authors take on someone who unexpectedly wins the lottery. Allison Michaels is the author I want to learn from. Her take on romance is so different than the cookie-cutter version we are used to. It's so refreshing. When romance is your go-to genre and you read as much as I do, you have a hard time swallowing book after book after book that recycles the same old story-line with different character names and different settings. Her characters are real, they understand the world in the same way that we do. Her characters are emotional, they feel as much as we do and it makes us feel with them. They're flawed, to the point where you see them as perfect. More Than Money starts off with us meeting Ryan, just your average guy doing his average job. Until pushed by a friend he does something he never thought, he plays the lottery. With one scratch off Ryan's life is changed forever.Collette never expected to be on the winner's cruise, let alone meet a guy. She's had her share of heartbreak. All she wanted was to do something good for the people in her life. When Ryan and Collette meet, they find something that is deeply unique. The love they manage to discover is beautiful. Collette is flawed, she comes from a dark past, Ryan is caring. Together they figure out the balance of it all. Of course with new money comes new enemies. Unfortunately for Ryan, greed comes from those you least expect it. They say that love conquers all, but does it? Can they love each other enough to fight against everything that comes at them? All in all I have to say yes, yes they can. Allison Michaels brought us a beautiful story, and while it might not be everyone's definition of romance, I cannot wait until she writes her next book. I was crying within twenty minutes of opening the book. More Than Money made me shed tears three separate times. There was a time where my heart was in my throat. I was not expecting the little twists that Michaels threw in. It brought the story up a level. For those who do not like this version of romance, I have to say, I'm shocked. Because while romance has been clearly defined, I think amendments can always be made. More Than Money is so much more than just a romance. It's a story that focuses on some of the real issues within human nature. Greed isn't something that Michaels just made up for her book. It's real and people deal with it on a daily basis. I believe More Than Money takes this topic and tries to help explain it. It shows us readers just how real it is, and you never know who can be greedy until you have something they want. So what if it doesn't hit hard on the romance factor in the "normal" ways, normal is overrated anyway. If you are looking for a real, unique story, then be sure to pick this one up. *Quote- "She was a bright light, and I was the moth skittering around her, naturally drawn to her radiance and warmth." -Ryan"Life is full of unexpected twists and turns, and navigating them with a copilot is better than doing it alone." "I'd never been a big believer of fate and serendipity... Everything happened for a reason." -Collette

I started reading More Than Money without knowing much about it. I wasn't even sure what it was really about. What I found on the pages of this book was so much more than I expected. The story is told from Ryan's point of view with a little bit of Collette's view mixed in from the past. What I love about books like this one is that you get to meet so many great supporting characters and connect with the story in so many ways. If you're a fan of books that tell stories of family, unbreakable bonds, and true love, pick this one up. You won't be sorry.

It took me a while to read this book but not because it wasn't an amazing book...I just have been limited on my reading time lately. Just wanted to clarify that! I really enjoyed More Than Money because I felt that it was more than a romance book. There was a backstory to Collette that was told in a flashback style (very easy to follow) and I loved reading that! It made me connect with her as a character and gave her a lot of depth. I also really liked Ryan. He wasn't your typical brooding alpha male...even though I love those...he was really just a nice guy who fell for a great woman. They both have won the lottery and both get to see how money changes people in good and bad ways. Their romance is sweet, but also very, very! Definitely recommend for someone who is looking for something more than the alpha male romance!

Oh I had so much fun reading Allison Michaels' debut novel, More than Money! It was such a unique tale and one that had me smiling, giggling and swooning the entire way through. Ryan's character cracked me up on too many times to count - but it was more than just his humor that sucked me in. He was full of so much depth and understanding.Collette was a woman who hadn't gone through an easy life. Her path was broken, jagged and scarred. I loved seeing the way she moved through and navigated her new world. Ryan and Collette apart were incredible to read. The two combined together was beautiful. Allison Michaels really showed her depth as a writer - whether new or seasoned - with her freshman novel, More than Money. It was a unique and completely original book that I found myself not wanting to set down once I started. I can't wait to read more from her as an author!

I enjoyed this author's first novel very much! It was complete with romance, sexy times, humor, sadness, a little drama and a couple surprising twists. Plus, it was very well written, which I appreciate so much. The story revolves around Ryan and Collette's new romance, founded when they met each other on a cruise for lottery winners. Each character had a different background and it was fun to read about their progression. It was mostly told in Ryan's POV, with a few spurts of Collette's. It was unique because all but one of Collette's chapters was in the past. For some reason I really liked that! Overall, this was a superb debut novel. I loved reading about Collette's brothers, Neil (the self conscious sweetheart) and Les (the asshole womanizer), so I hope to hear more about them next!

Prepare yourself to fall in love with multiple characters at once. More Than Money was an emotional journey through love, pain, grief, friendship, and family. There are several complex characters in this story, some you'll love, others not so much. I loved Collette's story, and how big her heart is for her family and for others. Ryan makes me giggle, and his love for Collette makes me swoon. Neil is my favorite, and I can't wait to read his story! I love how these two met, and the way luck, chance, and fate all work together in this story to make it what it is. I give this book 5 stars based on story, character development, the feels I got, and great writing and editing. Can't wait to get my hands on the next one!

Collette and Ryan start dating where Ryan ends up meeting Collette's brothers, Neil, and Les. With her brothers being over protective Ryan has to show them that he is not with their sister because she won the lottery that is with her for more than her money. More Than Money was a fantastic story! First off I really enjoyed having the primary voice be from Ryan. (It was refreshing) The slow build up of Ryan and Collette's story was masterfully built. Their banter was entertaining and their chemistry was HOT! I do hope to get a book for Neil and a book for Les.
