This book left me wanting more - a full length novel, perhaps? It certainly has the potential. That said, the author has done a good job in crafting an intriguing tale of how life can push a person to extremes. Even to murder. The descriptive writing and characters were well rounded, with particular focus on Detective Sandy. The book would benefit from a final edit to bring the punchiness of the author's words to the forefront but all-in-all I enjoyed the book and would certainly like to see a longer version.

Very detailed descriptions of events and characters make this too short tale very engrossing. The publisher's blurb gives hints, and there's no need for spoilers. I want to read more about Det Sandy and some of the other characters. I enjoyed it a lot, but want more! I'm glad that I won the LibraryThing Giveaway!

Suspect: A Murder Mystery is an intriguing thriller about the murder of a jewelry store owner. But, who is really involved and how are they involved? The twist and turns of this story made it impossible to stop reading and made me want more. I was provided an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

While the story itself could be intriguing, it's not flushed out enough to make a lot of sense or for me to care about what was happening. I think if it were taken further...the plot, the characters, the locations...it could be really good. However, at points it reads like a beginning novelist trying to add adjectives to make things more interesting. That is NOT needed.

This is a well-crafted short whodunnit story with great characters and an unexpected twist at the end. I did find that the story jumped forward too quickly at times and therefore seemed a bit rushed - it could have been fleshed out more.

9/10'Suspect: A Murder Mystery' by Angel Berry was a cracking read that jumps straight into the action from the getgo. It isn't long before the bodies start falling and the rest of the story takes us on an intriguing 'whodunit' journey to find the one responsible. All very conventional yes but what is written is written very very well. I loved the way the action moves from the viewpoint of one character to another. The dialogue is gritty and realistic and the pacing spot on with some interesting narrative choices and actions on behalf of the cast of characters and the characters themselves extremely lifelike and easy to imagine. The whole story was very readable with the reader not having to tax themselves to work out what the author is trying to say. Very professional. Angel Berry can definitely write. It felt exactly like an episode of Law and Order in story form and if he hasn't already considered a career in criminal screenplay writing, he should and I would love to see what the author can do with a full length crime novel. Would I buy it? Yes I would.A solid 9/10

I was just settling into enjoying this story when it finished. Good descriptions of character and events but could have been longer. Good read all the same.

I received a free "condensed" version of this thriller. I really did like what I read, however, I am disappointed that I could not preview the entire story in order provide a full review. If what I read continues, I could see my rating increase to 5 stars!

After winning a copy of Berry's It Lives, she sent a link to read this story for free. I enjoyed Suspect far more than It Lives. While It Lives is shorter with a more original premise, Suspect hooks quickly, easily, and packs plenty of action. ➜Characters were typical but solid and interesting➜The reality and perspective of drug-addicted people were well done and respectful➜The mystery and suspense are built well➜Didn't guess the identity of Judas➜Didn't see the ending coming➜Love to read more, especially what happens nextWith a price point of zero for a well-spent hour, I highly recommend checking out Suspect. Angel Berry clearly has the ability and ideas, so I'll keep an eye out for more of her work.

The mystery starts on page one of the story with a murder and intrigues the reader from the beginning. What was the reason for the murder; was it a jewellery store robbery gone wrong or was there a more sinister reason?Believable characters, fast pace with well-written prose. A very good short story.
