The story is interesting. The author comes across as self-absorbed and unconcerned about the larger consequences of her actions.

!!!!Spoilers below!!!! I liked this book. It gives an interesting perspective of a woman who didn't know who she was married to until he disappeared and she got the guys of the CIA knocking at her door. Her husband proved to be one of the most important spies for the Kremlin in the history of the Cold War. She was an American journalist who decided to go to Russia and follow him. In those days this was not an easy thing to do. Recommended.

The story of Kim Philby as loving - and then cheating – husband; the fact that he was also one of the most damaging Soviet agents to infiltrate the British Foreign Office is a minor detail of this book
