A science fiction story centered on breastfeeding... Can't say that I've run across one of those before! More of a 2.5 star read, but bumped up for the novelty of the topic in this genre. It's nice to see what is a very common experience for women be normalised through fiction. Well, perhaps normalised is not the best word. The character in this story is taking special pills to ensure that her breast milk is perfect, and the narrative is about the stresses we put on mothers to do anything to give their children even the slighted perceived leg-up in life.
An interesting short treatment addressing stress of motherhood, prying anti-consumerism, and judgmentalism. Interesting characterizations for a short work. I'm left wondering how soon this invasiveness will actually play out.
