4 stars!!!Ever since we met Smoke in previous books, I knew I wanted his story. I had a feeling it would be dark and delicious, and it was. Frazier didn’t disappoint with this story! Although Up in Smoke is listed as book 8 in the King series, it can be read as a stand-alone. You’ll get more out of the story if you’ve read the other books, but you don’t have to. Smoke is a man who works in the shadows. He goes in and out just like smoke. He’s a killer for hire and he’s great at his job. There are things in his past that put him on a new mission. A mission for revenge. Someone took someone that meant something to him and he’ll do whatever he needs to get back at this man. Frank Helburn. Though Smoke has trouble finding Frank, he ends up finding his daughter Frankie. Frankie is so much more than what meets the eye. She is one of my favorite TM Frazier heroines to date. She’s clever, courageous, and a fighter. She’s so much more than what Smoke expected. Once he’s captured her and kept her for a while, he honestly has no idea what to do with her. Smoke is ruthless. He’s a killer, and yes, he kidnaps our heroine. I couldn’t fault him for his reasons, and because I knew him from the other books, I still loved him either way. I loved the complex relationship between Frankie and Smoke. I loved all the twists and turns, unexpected plot twists and the ruthless characters that still have huge hearts for the ones they love and are completely loyal to each other. Getting to see some of my favorites from the previous books was a welcomed treat! If you like dirty, dark, and action packed reads, Up In Smoke is the book for you! Recommend to all fans of TM Frazier and all those who love the dark romance genre.

MY REVIEWcan also be found on my blog: KITTY KATS CRAZY ABOUT BOOKSUP IN SMOKE:is the eighth book in T.M. Frazier’s ‘ The King Series’ but it can easily be read as a standalone. Spoken in ‘Dual Perspectives’ This is Smoke & Frankie's story. "Why do they call you Smoke? " The very first chapter made my heart literally miss a beat and I knew we were going to see a side of Smoke that would unbearably break our hearts. The pain this man endured wasn't just within the first chapter but as we delve into the book more his whole story is revealed, and you fully understand why he is the way he is, but just know that all the heartache and pain that came his way slowly mends, chapter by chapter. Smoke is a nomad, a hired hitman who lives in the shadows between life and death, he's ruthless and merciless the best at what he does without compassion.I’m heartless. soulless. lawless. Godless. I’m hell on earth. Brimstone and fire. Embers and ashes. I am motherfucking SmokeSmoke has some dark demons buried in deep, now he’s on a revenge mission to bring down the one man responsible for murder, Frank Helburn who has apparently dropped off the face of the earth, he’s been in hiding for a year and nothing has brought him out.Until now..Smoke has just found his daughter. A clever ruse that eluded others finding her, she’s been attending a catholic school as an eighteen year old student going by the name Sarah Jackson. It didn’t take much for Smoke to go in and grab her in broad daylight with witnesses all around. Now she’s his..But for how long before her death by the man that hired Smoke?Dark eyes and rough handsTattoos and frown linesHandcuffs and scarsLips that were made for sinA perfect body with a corrupt mind I don't think T.M. Frazier could've paired up Smoke with a more worthier character..I loved Frankie, the endless questions, her quick clever mind and her unstoppable strength ozed off the pages. There is nothing I would've changed about her. This man is a walking billboard for both terror and lust. A human thunderstorm Reading this and heading towards the end that's when all the feels came rushing in, characters we thought we'd seen the backs of made reappearances in 'Up in smoke', the nostalgia hit me hard, I fell in love all over again. No one compares to this author, no series compares to this series, unique on all fronts!! My expectations were extremely high going into this because T.M. Frazier has set the bar high with every book she releases you know she's put her heart and soul into it, and this book was no exception. Murder and mayhem, twists and turns all had for an unpredictable, riveting unputdownable high octane read* Teasers used are off the Authors facebook page *

NOW LIVE!Amazon US * Amazon UKI honestly don't know what TM Frazier does to make me love these asshole characters so much but whatever powers from Satan she possesses I never want her to lose. Smoke was definitely one of her more rough-around-the-edges Heroes but it's what made me enjoy reading about him so much. I really liked that he never apologized for how he acted, yet in his own way he could actually be sweet sometimes. "I’m hell on earth. Brimstone and fire. Embers and ashes. I am motherfucking Smoke."Smoke and Frankie had a very unusual relationship, um I'll just say association. After kidnapping Frankie to draw her father out of hiding that should have been it, kidnapped and kidnappee, nothing else. But Frankie's smart mouth and inability to make this an easy abduction for Smoke draws him into her and has him never wanting to release her."I set out to seduce him, but in the process, I'd managed to seduce myself right into his arms."Frankie was the best heroine to be paired with Smoke. I loved her strength and courage and it really showed through the pages that she wasn't just some scared girl. She fought back and that's what took this book from being just a creepy guy holding a girl hostage to a hot as hell devil bringing out the wickedness in his captive. Overall, this is a hugely recommended read that is perfect for those readers that are looking for something a little darker than the usual sunshine and flowers books. It can be read as a standalone without spoilers but will have you itching to go back and read about some of the other characters.ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review.

★4.5★"All the nothing I am is now hers."T.M. Frazier has done it again! Up in Smoke is an action-packed dark romance full of passion, intrigue, and my favorite cast of characters from the King Series. Although Up in Smoke can be read as a stand-alone, I highly recommend starting with book 1. Once you get a taste of this world, you will never get enough! "Smoke My hellion. My ballsy fucking hellion." Smoke is a man on a mission. He will stop at nothing to seek revenge on the people who have stolen from him. A career criminal, he is armed and ready to kill and destroy anything in his path. When Frankie Helburn finds herself in his path, hell hath no fury! Smoke abducts Frankie in order to use her and force her father out of hiding. Frankie isn't easy prey. Determined, intelligent, and full of sass, she gives Smoke a serious run for his money. As Frankie and Smoke get to know one another, a spark of attraction begins to bloom and eventually explodes. When the truth is revealed, Smoke and Frankie must decide if they have what it takes to find a way together or will fate deliver a different outcome to their story?"Our tongues start the tortuous dance once more when his shaft leaves my clit long enough to line himself up with my entrance..." Told in dual POV, Up in Smoke has all of the elements I love about a T.M. Frazier book. The characters are colorful and complex, the action is non-stop, and the plot is full of twists and turns. T.M.'s writing is fluid and addictive as each and every moment unfolds. Returning to the King Series is like returning home to family. The women are strong and determined and the men are ruthless about protecting the ones they love. Each book in the series is unique and yet, loyalty and love are a constant theme throughout the series. Smoke and Frankie are certainly stand out characters due to the manner in which they are brought together. The passion between the two is smoking hot and the stakes are high for both of them to overcome the demons of their past. Overall, Up in Smoke is an absolute must read for contemporary romance fans who like a little dark and dirty in their reads. An action-packed romance full of broken characters, a complex plot, and colorful characters, Frankie and Smoke is one love story I will never forget! I will never get tired of this series or the many shenanigans they experience. The writing is raw, real, and unforgettable! Every single time! *ARC graciously provided in exchange for an honest review! For more reviews/reveals/giveaways visit:

T.M. Frazier creates characters that are unique and interesting all the while pushing boundaries and shattering perceptions. Smoke and Frankie are no exception. Smoke has been built out in other stories as a loner who is frequently at the right place, at the right time. This story gives us insight into what drives him. It also gives him some growth as an individual and within the King series arc. Frankie is introduced to us as Smoke’s captive and I enjoyed reading how she fit in his world. She was a worthy addition to the heroines with her determination and big heart. The two leads have smoking chemistry (pun intended) lol We were also able to catch up with the King series gang and saw some lingering issues get sorted. The story flow and pacing were used well. The plot was good. The characterization and use of secondary characters was one of its biggest wins. Definitely one I will re-read. And soon! Safety: There is one nameless woman the hero is with before he gets together with the heroine but after they meet and have some sexual interactions without intercourse. 🌟🌟🌟🌟1/2 STARS ARC-REVIEWRelease Date-19/2/18Up in Smoke (King, #8) by T.M. Frazier is my second book by this author.I have previously read “all the Rage” and though I enjoyed it this is hands down my favourite out of the two. This is Smoke and Frankie's story. And also as an added bonus, I got to reconnect with Rage AKA Bionic Barbie who I absolutely bloody adore, so I was super ecstatic over this little fact.So the opening chapter here was an absolute heartbreaker. But It was this insight into Smoke's past tragedy that helped me reconcile enormously with his actions to follow.Without this, I think it would have taken me a lot longer to warm to him. It's been a while since I read "All the rage" I know he was in that, but my memory of him was kinda fuzzy. So my main impressions of Smoke as an individual were really all gleaned from here. That is why as awful as I found that opening scene, it really was needed for me as a sort of barometer for Smoke's early on overall behaviour. So Frankie is hiding in plain sight as a Catholic schoolgirl.Lieing low, but also hiding in fear as she completes what she feels is her calling. But the thing that she is afraid of is about to catch right up with her.As the men that are after her father, have got sick of waiting for him to crawl out of the woodwork and have decided to take Frankie as bait.Either he show's his face or they are gonna take it out of Frankie's hide. Her days are literally numbered. So when Smoke turns up and kidnaps her right out of school. Frankie posing as schoolgirl Sarah is terrified. But She's still going to use every trick in her arsenal to try and escape this situation. She can't give him her father and she knows no rescue is on the near horizon for her.She only has herself and her wits to rely on and with people counting on her, well shes determined to give Smoke the slip.So this was great reading I really liked both main characters and also the overall dynamic between the two.Smoke himself was what I would describe as your classic tortured anti-hero, a bad man but with some redeeming qualities.Though originally here its quite hard to see what these are, you’d need an actual magnifying glass maybe to spot any.As time goes on he becomes less certain of what he thinks he knows and wants in regards to Frankie. He can't help but feel a connection and strong pull towards her and this is the last thing he wants or needs.Smoke considers himself a bit of a lone wolf but it’s apparent he has more actual link's than he realises.Frankie well shes just as bad when it comes to forming connections, she also tries to stave off this inevitable union. Both running scared in my opinion.Frankie, well Shes all sorts of feisty, loyal and beautiful and with a moral compass to boot. What’s not to love. And When these two eventually give in to there baser needs there definitely going up in smoke. So this was a total page turner it was action packed, full of intrigue and super scorching when it comes to the temperature. It would have been a full house for me except for one little detail. There was a certain incident on Smokes side that I couldn't overlook and without going into to much detail it pissed me the hell off and I wanted to wallop smoke with my bleeding kindle and then throw every pot, ornament and near handy object at his stupid, thick numbskull head like really really hard, GRRRR!!!!! DEEP BREATH!!So I removed half a star because I was super annoyed, it would have been one, but I waited a while to write this review and I've calmed down a tad now, as long as I don’t think about it to much. But despite that one instant all else is good in the world. So give this excellently written book a try it's a cracker of a read.I was provided with an ARC of "Up In Smoke" By the author of which I have reviewed voluntary. All opinions expressed are entirely my own.Reviewed By Beckie Bookworm.

➦I can honestly say that T.M. Frazier has become my go-to author whenever I'm in the mood for a bit of dark and steamy. And, even though some of the scenes in her books make me cringe, her writing is so hypnotizing that I never want to stop reading. Up in Smoke was no exception and a worthy addition to already spectacular series.➦Smoke is a hero a lot of dark romance readers will enjoy - he is tortured, raw, sexy and has a good heart. This book has a revenge plot and the reader will find out what drives Smoke to abduct the heroine. Definitely recommend to anyone who likes kidnapping themes. And boy, was it hot. I hereby seal this bad boy.

All I’m saying is that this better not be the last book of this series. It. Better. Not. Be. Because I personally cannot get enough of these characters. I got to see my boys in this one and even Rage had an ‘also-starring’ role, which really tickled my gonads. Nine/Kevin's story next please!!“Respect needs to be earned. Preppy’s got mine.” - SmokeYou had to know I was going to be in absolute heaven seeing my boo. Bowtie til I die, muhfuqqas!! But hey, this was Smoke and Frankie’s story and I’ve wanted to know more about this fearsome, brooding, deadly man since the moment he crossed the page. Who was he? How did he become the man he was? What did his future hold? Up in Smoke answered my questions and then some. “I think of how beautiful this man is. How angry and horrible and violent and beautiful.” - FrankieSmoke fit right in with my boys and this book read like I was reconnecting with a friend I hadn’t spoken to in a while. At one end I was an emotional wreck, tense from the uncertainty of Frankie’s fate, and anticipating Smoke’s surrender, and at the other, I was comfortable. I think my level of comfort came with the familiarity of this author’s writing and how unrealistically realistic her characters are. She creates some beasts that you can’t help but fall in love with and Smoke was absolutely no exception! And Frankie was my homegirl. This girl went through some mess to get where she was and I admired her survival.“I’m desperate to give my body to the man who may very well be the one who takes my life.”Okay, so Smoke kidnaps Frankie to use her as collateral. Her father stole some money from some pretty bad men and Smoke is chosen to collect. But that’s not the whole story. Oh no. Smoke’s out for revenge. Bloodthirsty, throat-rending, heart-stopping revenge. His bloodlust had no limits and he was willing to do anything to quench his thirst. What he didn’t count on was Frankie and the effect this young slip of a girl would have on him.“The very thing I thought I was incapable of has been given to me by this girl. A gift I won’t ever be able to repay. I thank her for it.”“The uncontrollable man is showing me control. I’m lost. To him. To this. To us.”I’m telling you. This book was beyond fantastic. This story was raw, unfiltered hate and lust and love and I ate that ish up like chocolate. I am in love with Smoke. He’s now been officially added to my harem. Yes, I have an imaginary reverse harem and he now has member privileges. His heart… the heart he wasn’t supposed to have anymore… Gosh, I loved the beat of it.“You wanted me to choose you, Hellion. Well, this is me… choosing you.”Release: Feb. 16, 2018 | Genre: Romantic Suspense | POV: Dual - 1st person | Heat: 4 out of 5 | Standalone - King #8Check out the Blog Tour!

Title: Up In Smoke (King #8)Author: T.M. FrazierGenre: DarkPublication Date: February 18, 2018I have been following this series for over 3 years now. I love this series- This book introduced me to a genre that is within the 'romance umbrella' but it's darker, grittier and sometimes really uncomfortable to read.Up In Smoke is the 8th book in the King series and this is Smoke's story.Prepare yourself for an epic book!Up In Smoke starts with a BANG....The chapter broke my heart, it gives you a glimpse into the mayhem that is Smoke. I can't even begin to think grasp the mental state or the conflict and emotions running through this man.. He is so hard (ahem, pun intended too hahaha), so strong, terrifying, wild and fearless yet behind it all, is a gentle giant. He is thoughtful and romantic in his own way. Love Smoke!Frankie Helburn is badass! She is strong, independent, defiant, wild and sarcastic. She is a computer wiz! She is a conundrum- All small and soft yet she gives it right back. Have I mentioned that she is sarcastic as hell? Her wittiness makes my inner 'sassy' side go all "You go girl!" hahahaSmoke and frankie are perfect for each other... complete opposites in the most literal terms yet so in sync and perfect for each other. Let's be real here, their chemistry is off the charts HOT!!!!!I highly recommend this book...heck.. I highly recommend this series! It's unlike any's so unique, so addictive! For more

“You belong to me. Your fear, your anger, your fury, your fucking defiance. It all belongs to me. And nobody fucks with what’s mine but ME”. With that quote alone, can you feel the dangerous promise already? That claim that no one but a character as bad ass as these men can lay down on you, all the while sending shivers down your spine because you know, they do not mess around. “Up in Smoke” was no different. It was intense, sexy, and completely freaking hot!! Most high school girls don’t have anything to worry about. Their main focus is on school and what’s going on in their personal love life. But not for Frankie Helburn. Her priorities are different and that includes staying alive for the foreseeable future because when your extracurricular activities puts you in danger and pisses off the wrong people, getting to see another day is a blessing. “Dark eyes and rough handsTattoos and frown linesHandcuffs and scarsLips that were made for sinA perfect body with a corrupt mind Smoke is not a man that you would want to cross paths with. He has one goal in mind and that’s revenge. Getting in his way will only get you one thing and that’s a closed casket so treading lightly when it comes to that man, is an understatement. When the chance to exact revenge comes along, Smoke does what he’s good at. He acts. But how far will his plan go? Will Frankie be just another casualty or will she be the one to change him for better or worse? I’ve always Ioved how this author has made us fall for these broken bad a** alphas without us even knowing it. We get so caught up in their pain and their dark world that we have no clue when we fall but we DO. Its fast and unforgiving just like these men, but that feeling you get, the protectiveness you feel with just one look from them, it's worth it. Loving men like these takes a lot, but being theirs? Is everything.*Teaser used if from the author's fb page

5-THIS-IS-ABSOLUTELY-FREAKING-PERFECTION-STARS!!!!I’m heartless. Soulless. Lawless. Godless.I’m hell on earth.Brimstone and fire. Embers and ashes.I am motherfucking SmokeAND I MOTHERFUCKING DIED!!! HOLY SHIT. HOLY SHIT. HOLY FREAKING SHIT!!!!!I think that every time I read a novel by T.M. Frazier I always say "she did it again"And I'm freaking serious ya'll! She fckin did it again! Every single time she always manages to blow my mind away! This book was the key to get rid of my stupid reading slump. It's so good that I literally read it when I got the copy. Let's talk about Smoke shall we? I really have a crush on him (well, he's next to Preppy). Smoke is just... you know... enigmatic, mysterious, hot and a really freaking badass. He's a brute with a good heart. He has his demons, issues, and guilt to deal with so he avoids letting people in. What really makes me love his character is his ability to love even if he's kind of a fcked up man and he loves with all his life. This guy is just so charming in a way that makes my heart flutter. Okay, let's go to Frankie. She's also a freaking badass heroine! A freaking (view spoiler)[hacker (hide spoiler)]. I mean, how cool is that? She's feisty, brave, and strong. I really liked her personality. She isn't annoying and she's capable of saving herself and the ones she loves. She and Smoke couldn't be anymore perfect for me.The plot is just so brilliant. The twists took me by surprise again. T.M Frazier's writing skills is really astounding! I just love every novel she writes, every character she creates, and every mind-blowing twists she shoves in front of me. I LOVE IT! I LOVE HER! I LOVE SMOKE! I LOVE FRANKIE! I LOVE THIS SERIES SO MUCH!!!Can't wait for Kevin's book....

The plot was thin but I loved the humorous tone and reunion of the lawless crew. The mystery surrounding Frank Hepburn’s whereabouts was ramped up but the big reveal seemed anticlimactic. Frankie’s thoughts on Dr. Ida Kurshner’s book on captivity kept me laughing and Rage’s one-liners reminded me why she had the best love-hate chemistry with Preppy. Rage’s thoughts?“Now, let’s kill something and string its intestines up like Christmas lights.”

Another wonderful read from TM Frazier! This instalment is about Smoke and Frankie... they are both two lost souls who find love and acceptance through each other.. I loved this couple, even though it took themselves quite awhile to let their guards down! When they do though the passion is explosive! I also enjoyed getting cameos from my favourites like Preppy, Bear, Rage, and way more!If you have kept up with the King’s series than you definitely need to pick this story up!

I’m a man among men, but I’m not really living. I answer to no one. I’m heartless. Soulless. Lawless. Godless. I’m what’s left of humanity after it’s burned. I’m what remains after the flames have been doused. I’m Hell on Earth. Brimstone and fire, Embers and ashes. I am motherfucking Smoke. And I. AM. IN. LOVE.When reading a T.M. Frazier book you just know that you will emerge yourself into an addicting and mind-blowing world. Where you can’t won’t want to voluntarily put it down. The CharactersSmoke had thought that he had experienced true evil but that one night he really knew what it meant. A year has passed and gone, and revenge is still his mission. He gets a tip to go after the last piece on the board to finish the game. There is true evil in the world and although he might be a monster without realizing it he is one of the good ones. But his life is once again going to be turned upside down. Smoke, OMG ladies I must find the words to convey how I feel about him. He is grace and violence an oddly beautiful yet horrendous combination. A force to be reckoned with a man who will go through fire to do what he has and to stick by his guns. Frankie Helburn is on a mission. To save as many people as she can. She knows with the work that she is doing that her time will be up sooner rather than later. Righting wrongs and finding out her life was a lie. Her work is the only thing she has left and by hiding in plain sight she has some reprieve. Frankie is sassy and spunky and for me she is totally kickarse. She has a backbone of steel and stands for what is right no matter the consequences she keeps a level head. On top of the awesome ice cream sundae we get the reappearance of previous characters. Butter my bun and call me a biscuit cause all of that testosterone in one room? Smoke, King, Bear & Preppy? Steaming peeps. The only one who was missing was Jake. My favourite secondary character in this book is Zelda. She is a riot. The ChemistryThey have epic chemistry although they both find it hard to deal with and accept it. It is a battle that they will both loose and although there wasn’t as much sex in this one then in the others it was how they were both trying to deal with their feelings that it is inevitable no matter what. Beneath that hard exterior there is a soft place, you have to look really hard but it is reserved just for Frankie. The Writing & PlotAn original, soul-bearing, gut wrenching and yet beautiful read with some twists and turns that you won’t see coming and like me some that you will see coming but that doesn’t deflect from the plot and what is offered. For me Ms. Frazier is flawless in her writing. She writes exceptional characters both female/male she is one of the very few where I love each main character equally. The pace of the book was the way it was meant to be sometimes a tad slow for my liking but still bloody awesome. I personally don’t like perfect characters, I don’t want perfect, I want complex, flawed and imperfect. Where they crave the dark side. The relationships Ms. Frazier writes about are complex and they never conform to the standards of normal society I don’t even think she could conform a couple to a normal relationship besides that is not what I know and love her for.It wouldn’t be a Frazier book if the author didn’t send the Hero off to distract himself with another woman. Oddly enough when I read this it didn’t bother me. The Verdict.I would recommend this book with every fibre of my being. This book had everything I want in book. Action, emotion, uniqueness and characters you want to hate but you just can’t. Ms. Frazier might be an acquired taste with her books so I suggest you acquire some taste. Big fun and major girl crush. P.S. Thanks for reminding me of the awesome song from Creed Arms Wide Open there is that one moment that gives me goose bumps every single time. I’ve already heard it about ten times today. I can’t wait for Nine to get a book. ═══  PLEASE SUBSCRIBE / LIKE / FOLLOW US  ════Blog            : https://www.jerisbookattic.comFB Page       :         :  :     :

I don’t know if it’s because I am over this genre of book or because Frankie and Smoke just didn’t do it for me, but UP IN SMOKE didn’t knock my socks off like I was hoping it would. We read about Smoke during Rage’s book and I was looking forward to his story. I wanted to know why he was as messed up as he was, and now that I know, I feel like TM Frazier didn’t build him up like she has her previous male leads. Smoke was probably the weakest link for me in terms of hero’s. If you can even call him that. Thankfully, I did enjoy Frankie and her bad-ass-ness. I found parts of this book really difficult to read. Perhaps, I’m just getting older and can’t read about this stuff any more...or maybe, just maybe, this book crossed some lines that I am unwilling to expose myself to. King, Preppy, Bear and Rage are all a band of misfits who require loads of therapy, but I loved their colourful characters. Smoke just made me feel a little meh. I didn’t love him or hate him, and the story line was slow moving at first and then BAM, it all summed up in about 15% and it felt a little rushed in the end. I’ve been a fan of Frazier’s previous books-and I am not going to fault her for this one. But I’m admitting this was my least favourite- which is a shame. I didn’t enjoy some of the chemistry between Smoke and Frankie. The tension between them certainly sizzled for a bit there! Nine was a nice addition to the family as well. I’m hoping he gets his own book as well! ARC received in exchange for an honest reviewReviewed by Jess for joandisalovebooks blog

*4.5 stars*Another great book by T.M. Frazier! I really liked this book. Its gritty, violent, sexy, disturbing and intriguing like the rest of this series. These books are all so addictive! Smoke is one sexy beast. He’s done some awful things but seeing him fall in love was inspiring. He loves with all his heart and would literally die for Frankie. It wasn’t an easy road for them but that only makes their love stronger. Frankie was amazing. She’s so strong and smart and even though she’s been through a lot, she loves unconditionally. She loves Smoke with all his flaws and sees the real man. They are so perfect for each other! I enjoyed seeing King, Bear, Preppy and Rage again, but Nine stole my heart. He appeared briefly in this book but left a mark on me. I hope he gets his own book soon. Overall this was a great story that I highly recommend to all dark, suspenseful romance fans. You will love it! And if you haven’t read this series yet, what are you waiting for? PS: This book can be read as a standalone.

This is why I read T.M. Frazer...I’m not the kind of person who thinks to burn off anger with exercise. I’m not the kind of person who thinks meditation will help clear my angry thoughts. I’m not the kind of person who feels like screaming out my anger…well not often. I am the type of person who looks for a book that will more than likely make me feel angry. It’s kind of like that math thingamajiggy. You know, where two negatives make a positive? I’m angry, the book's angry, we come together and somehow, I finish feeling...less angry.Thank you, T.M. Frazier, your work here is done.My life is super crazy at the moment. Lots of people say it, and I’m finally living it. I’m busy, the kids are busy, works busy, hubby’s busy…WE’RE ALL BUSY!! I needed to stop my negative mojo and remember that there are people who have it A LOT tougher out there in the wide, wide world. With every little thing that made me angry about the book, my life became a little less complicated. I can’t even explain how and why it works. It’s not like one thing in the book matched up with or crossed off against something in real life. It was more like a way for me to punch a punching bag. I managed to take my anger out on my book. Or, maybe it does cross off a wee bit...Hubby: We have baseball at 10:00 for one and volleyball at 10:15 for the other.Me: I HATE DRIVING!!Hubby: Life’s tough sometimes…(Hubby walks out of the room and Sassy picks up her book again)Angry Sassy's inner monologue: Smoke, you Mfer, why the hell did you just do that…BURN IN HELL!!****Hubby: You’ll have to cook dinner on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s because of training.Me: That’s a lot of spaghetti bolognese (the only thing I make that's edible)Hubby: Life’s tough sometimes…(Hubby walks out of the room and Sassy picks up her book again)Angry Sassy's inner monologue: You stupid MFing Numbnut, you lay a hand on her one more time…BURN IN HELL!!So, instead of a punching bag, I have angry books to get my aggression out. T.M. Frazier has mad skills when it comes to making me extremely angry. I can’t say I finished with a big goofy grin, or even with my heart fluttering. It’s more of a…I SURVIVED…BURN IN HELL, MFERS!!But, it’s cool. I’m cool. We’re cool. Life’s cool. Please Note: I haven't read the Preppy books because obviously, I wasn't angry when they came out. I'll keep them for emergencies.***4 stars because even angry books have a special place on my bookshelf***

★4 STARS★There’s no Smoke without fire and T.M. Frazier certainly brings the heat with the newest installment to her King series.Smoke is ruthless in his quest for revenge and Frankie Helburn is just the collateral he needs to exact it. To the unseeing eye she’s a high schooler caught up in the web of her father’s deceit, but we soon come to realise she’s more wily and courageous than we or Smoke give her credit for.Smoke wants answers and although it’s in Frankie’s best interests to give them to him she too has secrets that are darker than any of the depraved means Smoke means to get them from her. It’s not long before coming face to face with the truth has much more explosive consequences than either of them bargained for.On the surface Frankie is the captive but I adored the way she was able to ultimately save him.If you’re already a veteran to the series you’ll know Frazier doesn’t hold back in violence or brute force, and with Smoke we get both barrels.

There will never EVER be a time when TM Frazier releases a new book and I’m not left speechless. The time and patience she puts into each book shows clearly in every book especially this one. When I hear about a new release from this author my first thought is, ”how can I possibly love her characters more than the ones I already do? That’s quickly followed by “I know this woman is gonna blow my damn mind again with another incredible piece of writing.” I ask myself this every time and I can honestly say, TM has never let me down, never. Each story she brings out touches a place deep down in my soul leaving it impossible not to love each of these characters and Up In Smoke was no different. I have two new editions to the King family that have set up camp in my heart, god knows they won’t ever leave, I don’t ever want them to!So let me start with this book. I’ve been waiting for Smoke’s story for a while. After getting to know him more in All The Rage his character intrigued me, I couldn’t wait for his story and now that I’ve been blessed with it I’m in awe. Smoke is a lone wolf, he travels alone, he stays alone and that’s the way he prefers it. He’s the devil wrapped up in a handsome package. Watching Smoke’s story Unravel was both heartbreaking and beautiful, with everything he goes through it’s clear to see why he is the way he is. Frankie was an amazing character, she shied away from everyone around her but the attitude, oh wow that was fantastic, she stood her ground and boy was that fun to read. Her backstory is sad but TM (the queen of plot twists) throws in a little something, something in near the end and you’re left shocked, I literally didn’t see that part coming. The whole storyline had me reading it until the very end, I couldn’t possibly stop at any point, I had to finish it and that’s the reason why I’m currently sat up at 3am writing this review lol. Not only did TM deliver with this beauty but she brings back some characters from the other books in the King series and well, my heart is so happy right now, you’ll see why when you read it. I literally can NOT praise this amazing author more than I am, her work is phenomenal and the main reason she’s an instant 1-click author for me, I know without a doubt I’ll love anything she writes because she puts her heart and soul into it and it always, ALWAYS comes out better than I ever expect. I say this all the time but if I could give this a higher rating than 5 stars, I really would. It deserves 10x that and more. I’m so extremely grateful to have been given an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Release Date:February 16, 2018 Genre:Dark Romance. Romantic Suspense. I didn't think I could love such dark characters until I came in contact with T.M. Frazier's books. Damn! She makes these monsters the most delectable creatures in the world. And I honestly can't seem to get enough of them. I really REALLY hope we get Nine's book next. He is a strong secondary character in this one and I know he's going to make my heart race as fast as all these other bad boys. Up in Smoke is the 8th book in the King series. In all actuality, this book CAN stand alone just like Rage's book did BUT, I recommend reading this series in order as the characters from the previous books are prevalent throughout the series. Plus, they are all freakin FABULOUS anyway, so not reading them would really be an injustice to you. With that, Smoke set my heart on FIRE. I didn't think I would like his story as much as I did King's, Bear's, and Preppy's but I was so wrong. This man STOLE my heart with his dark ways and ignited something inside of me. He comes off as this monstrous creature without a conscience or soul but deep down, he is suffering from a past. That is, until Frankie becomes part of his dark world and takes all the suffering away. Frankie is another AMAZING female character in the series and once again, I found myself crushing on her HARD (this is how I felt about all the other females in the series as well). She's smart, fairly innocent in the scheme of things, but has a bit of a darker side that made her PERFECT for a man like Smoke. All in all, I don't know how T.M. does it but EACH AND EVERY one of her books are PERFECTION. And I am not just saying that either. She writes books with a dark edge that readers can't help being sucked into. She gives these monstrous men HEARTS and makes readers FEEL very deeply for them even though they live on the wrong side of the law. I simply cannot get enough, and I don't think I would every be able to stop reading her books (which I have DEVOURED- all of them). If you are looking for a dark and gritty novel with a TON of angst, you simply NEED THIS BOOK. If you like your men dark, broody, and just plain AGGRESSIVE, then you should get your fix with Smoke. Or, if you want to try something new, something a bit darker and edgier, then I recommend THIS BOOK along with the rest of the series. Just be aware, once you start these books there is no way you will be able to stop. They are ADDICTING.PURCHASE A COPY OF UP IN SMOKE Amazon Kindle: Print: with Audible: LET'S CONNECT I offer VARIOUS things on my blog including upcoming book releases, a list of NEW releases, book reviews, and giveaways. “You belong to me. Your fear, your anger, your fury, your fucking defiance. It all belongs to me. And nobody fucks with what’s mine but ME.”4 stars!A dark and gritty story full of danger and intrigue, with a passionate, intense, unexpected love story, this book sucked me in and had me madly flipping pages. I was captivated from the brutal beginning, and loved this dark and twisted story. This book is a part of the King series, most directly linked with companion novel All the Rage, and is the story of Smoke – mysterious killer and ‘man for hire’. Smoke’s past is a mystery, but the glimpse we get of what he has been through is enough to have my heart bleeding for him. He is dangerous and deadly, a ruthless man with no ties and no conscience, and his latest job has him hunting down a man named Frank Helburn. It’s a job, yes, but it’s also a mission of personal vengeance for Smoke and he is determined to get his man by any means necessary. Frankie Helburn is Frank’s daughter. A quick, clever and strong 22 year old, she is wary and secretive - living a double life and keeping her identity hidden as she works on a personal mission. Smoke considers Frankie his quickest way to Frank, so he takes her, planning flushing his target out. What he didn’t expect was to be impressed by her strength and bravery, or to be wildly attracted to her. “I took you, hellion. You’re all mine. Only I get to say whether you live or die.”“You’re a monster,” she whispers on a shaky exhale. You have no fucking idea.I withdraw the blade and tuck it away. I brush a lock of dark hair from her eyes, tucking it behind her ear, my fingers lingering on the delicate curve of her bruised and sliced neck.“You’re right,” I whisper. “I am a monster.” Roughly, I grab her chin, forcing her to look me in the eye.“I’m your monster.”“You belong to me. Your fear, your anger, your fury, your fucking defiance. It all belongs to me. And nobody fucks with what’s mine but ME.”Frankie knows that she should hate Smoke, and she does. But she’s also drawn to him in a way that doesn’t make sense. Of course he’s gorgeous, but he’s also the wildest, strongest and most dangerous man she’s ever met. And over time as she gets to see more of the real him, but can’t help but start to fall for him. I’m desperate to give my body to the man who may very well be the one who takes my life. And right now, I don’t fucking care.Because in Smoke’s arms, I’ve come alive.I really enjoyed this relationship. It’s not a pairing that you would expect, but the chemistry is there and it feels natural, and I was cheering for these two from the first moment where there is a hint of what is to come for them. “I wish I could hate you,” I whisper, feeling the world around me closing in more and more with each passing hour.“Me, too,” he responds, his lips kissing the back of my head. It’s not an easy road, with both of them knowing how effed up their situation is and fighting against their mad attraction, but the fall is inevitable, and I loved watching it all happen for them. And more than just physical, there’s an emotional connection there which takes them both by surprise, and I thought that was really nicely developed, creating a strong sense of reality to the love story. “It’s only fair that I break you,” Smoke groans, seating himself fully inside me. He looks me in the eyes. “Since you’ve already broken me.”But their situation is far from easy, and there is a lot standing in their way. They will need to learn to trust each other and uncover the truth about the circumstances that drew them together in order to move forward, and it is a harsh road with lots of twists and turns along the way. This is such a great story. Fast moving and intense, it’s a great mix of dark and dirty, mystery, and chemistry-filled, passionate love story. TM Frazier has a way of writing these anti-heroes in a way that you cannot help but fall for them, and she’s done an incredible job with Smoke. He’s deep and complex, and I was already half in love with him from what we had already seen, but getting into his head was a real treat, and Frankie is the perfect match for him. I love them together so much!Frankie wants me dirty. Real. And I want her.Any way I can fucking have her.She belongs to me.Frankie Helburn is mine. She isn’t under my skin. She’s fucking torched it. My flesh burns for her. She’s the flame and the balm, both painful and soothing. I want more of her.All of her.She owns me. Body. Soul. Bloody hands, along with whatever the fuck is left of my heart. It’s hers. All of it.I’m not just obsessed or consumed by Frankie Helburn.I lift her into my arms. Her legs wrap around my waist and our lips crash together. She’s part of me.Fans of the series will be thrilled to see, King, Bear and Preppy all make an appearance, which I LOVED! I also loved getting to see more of Rage, Nolan and Nine, and I’m so excited for Nine to get his own book. “I’ll love you with everything I have and all that I am. It ain’t much, but it’s yours if you’ll let me give it to you.”TM Frazier has created an incredible world with the King series. Shocking, surprising, dark, intense, sexy, romantic and absolutely unforgettable I have loved every book, and mourned when I thought it was over. I’m so happy she decided to give us Smoke’s story, and I remain eager for more!4 starsAdvanced Review Copy generously provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

T.M. Frazier is in my top 3 all time authors. I have read every word she's published and would follow her stories anywhere they wanted to go. I was excited to be getting a glimpse back in to the King series and to Yes learn it was going to be Smoke's book was even better. A new character to love, a new story line to follow, new chances to get to see some of my favorite TM characters coming back to the pages. Little did I know that Smoke and Frankie's story would take on a life of it's own in my head. The most prevalent thing about Up In Smoke to me is the journey you can tell Tracey (TM) has taken as a writer. The story development is top notch, the character nuisances are intriguing and surprising, the non stop hits that you will take are exciting and gasp worthy. I didn't know that she could get much better, but she has exceeded all of my expectations and I couldn't be happier! Smoke - good lord Smoke. I was intrigued by him in the glimpses of his character we received in earlier books. But to get a full length book, where we get to experience him so intimately. I'm not sure I have the words to convey how exceptional I find him. The back story, which is so well told in this book; is heartbreaking and tear worthy....and I don't cry at many books! You're going to go through a run of emotions when reading about how this beautiful man came into who he is and you'll be thanking TM for taking you there. Frankie - TM does lots of things well, female characters is starting to top that list as the thing she does best. Her male characters are loved and idolized so much that sometimes, we push the girls/ladies/women to the back. Frankie won't have any of that. This girl has cojones, like huge cojones. She is smart, brilliant really and her level of self preservation is something that heroines are sorely lacking these days. In a world of dark, violence and unspeakable things; Frankie navigates this world better than most men would be able. She survives no matter what gets thrown at her. She will be the last one standing, don't ever doubt that. I LOVED her! Setting the scene is also one of the things I enjoy most about TM's work. Her descriptive language has captured my attention since King book 1 and only gets better each book she writes. If you've read Bear and Thia's story (Lawless and Soulless), you know what I'm talking about here. In those books, the descriptions were so effective, I felt as if I was standing in the orchard groves smelling the rotting fruit of the land. Up in Smoke takes you to some dark places and you will literally feel as if you are there with the characters. Smelling the mold and death, seeing the dust in the streaming light and feeling each and every breathe they take. The slow burn and push/pull between Smoke and Frankie is equally as torturous as it is rewarding, and boy is it rewarding. We're talking EPIC scenes of tension here. I have so much love for this book. I absorbed every word and will carry it with me for a long long time. Bear is and will always be my forever favorite. BUT I think Up in Smoke is TM Frazier's best work to date. Get yourself some whiskey (Bear and Smoke's choice of drink) and a good place to curl up with Smoke and Frankie and buckle's not a smooth ride. And you'll be thankful for every bump, scrape and bruise.

This is the fastest I've read a book in over a year. From the prologue to the epilogue, Up in Smoke has everything, old scores settled and new scores avenged.Smoke is as bad arse as we remember him in All the Rage, he's all muscle, mayhem and mystery. He doesn't give much away but when he does he gives his all. But he's met his match with Frankie, she's got balls, not in the style of Rage but in her own self confidence and motive, she owns it.Reading Up in Smoke I felt TM has gone back to her earlier writing style like Dark Light of Day, King and Tyrant, which I love her for. It's gritty, faced paced, full of action and plenty of cameos from characters we know and love but keeping within story. I loved how old ground was covered, and questions answered (also make sure to read the All the Rage bonus chapter at the end), and new territory explored. Can't wait for the paperback!!!

5 AMAZING STARS I am a little speechless writing this because TM Frazier has upped the bar again! I was a bit nervous going into this book because I was probably in the minority of feeling slightly disappointed by Preppy part 3, but I had no need to be because I was wrong to even think I could be disappointed again, this was just pure dead brilliant as we say in Scotland. When I saw that a book was being written for Smoke I may have punched the air a little and shouted whoop whoop go girl. Simply because I needed to know what was behind the disappearing constantly man. Well it delivered and then some. In fact Bear has always been my favourite character in this series and Smoke has now been put right up there in my top book boyfriends with him and I can't decide who I like most so claiming them both is all I can do.As we all know Smoke lives in the shadows and never sticks around very long. If you have read All the Rage then you will know what happened there and that he went through a heart breaking situation with Rage. Smoke then disappeared before briefly popping up in one of Preppy's books. This is the normal for Smoke as he is a nomad contracted killer to put it bluntly. The book delves into the background he came from and the gut wrenching scenario he went through a year previous which is the reason he is on the job he is now and why he kidnaps Frankie. Nothing phases Smoke he is as dark and dangerous as they come and it's not on his conscience to care about anything or anyone, well until Frankie that is. Frankie firstly comes across as skittish and paranoid but as the story goes on you begin to understand more of why she initially comes across that way. However don't be fulled into thinking she is a weak heroine as she is anything but weak. Frankie is extremely smart and puts up a really good fight, she actually reminds me of Rage in a way but in her own Frankie style. Her background isn't pretty either and my heart was bursting with empathy for both Smoke and Frankie as the story unfolded. I'm not going into the actual plot itself but just know the book isn't without a few twists that you won't see coming which adds to the angst that's already there so be prepared for one heck of a ride with these 2. We also briefly hear from a few of the other characters from the King series that we have all come to know and love which is an added bonus in my eyes. Tm Frazier has done a brilliant job with this book and I can't give it enough praise to give it the justice it deserves. I promise one thing though, fans of this series will fall in love with Smoke and Frankie's characters and will never want it to end, I know I didn't.

4.5 Stars!I was super excited to read Up In Smoke as I have been a fan of T.M. Frazier for YEARS since Dark Light of Day. She has the exceptional ability to combine dangerous, broody alphas, sassy and strong heroines, snappy banter and an intense and visceral connection between her main characters. That is exactly what we got in this book. Smoke and Frankie were insanely hot! Their connection was fiery and once they got together: FIREWORKS. This novel was explosive and addicting and I could not put it down! Frankie is not having a good day. Kidnapped by Smoke in an act of revenge, she has no idea how she is going to escape to save herself and continue her secret plans. But when lines get crossed and secrets are revealed will her captor be able to see past his revenge? GAHHHHH! This novel was pure gold. It had sexual chemistry in spades, volatile tension and a suspenseful storyline to keep you glued to the pages. I loveeed Smoke! I especially loved how he was just a bad man and gave no effs about it. He was who he was and made no excuses. His world was black and white - that is until he met Frankie. This novel was explosive!! I loved seeing all the familiar faces from the series and the growing feelings between Smoke and Frankie. This author honestly killed it with this amazing story and constantly pulled the rug out from under you. You never knew what was going to happen next. I couldn't get enough!! I can't wait for more from this author in the future! Bravo! 4.5 stars! ~Ratula

He may be a monster but he's my monsterThis is Book 8 in the King Series but can be read as a standalone. This is Smoke's story. The most bad-ass alpha male I have read in a long time. This man is a walking billboard for both terror and lust. A human thunderstorm. He's beautiful. This book was dark and twisted. This author pushes the boundaries. This is not some sweet boy meets girl romance. From the first chapter of this book, my heart broke for Smoke. I felt his need for revenge like a living thing. Part of this plan for vengeance includes kidnapping Frankie, the daughter of the man he is hunting. Smoke tries to focus on Frankie as just a job but he becomes mesmerized by her. He starts to have feelings that he's never had before. This man is broken. From child hood he has had to fend for himself with no one to watch over him. He does not know love. He struggled to accept his feelings for Frankie."It's only fair that I break you...since you've already broken me."Frankie was just what Smoke needed. She was a loner just like him. She understood his darkness. She accepted him for who he was."I want you. Just as you are. Bloody beautiful, Smoke."This book is action packed. There are twists and turns that kept me guessing how the book was going to end. It was certainly a wild ride that I seriously enjoyed.
