I love the idea behind this book, and the women featured are incredible role models. Unfortunately, I didn't care much for the patterns themselves. They were very simplistic, and it was difficult to tell who some of them were supposed to represent. This book would be great for absolute beginners, and I sincerely hope it encourages more young feminists to take up this wonderful craft, but it's just not for me.

The Frida Kahlo cross-stitch on the cover piqued my curiosity, and the Ruth Bader Ginsurg pattern hooked me. A variety of strong women created in easy-to-follow counted cross-stitch patterns. Book includes patterns for several sayings, including "A woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle."
