So, how well do you really know your friends...your family...or your lover?...Living in a Tangled Web of Questions...How much are you willing to change and reinvent yourself to get what you think you need to become better...richer...happier...or more powerful?A group of seemingly ordinary folks must grapple with these burning questions when a string of bizarre serial killings besieges Larchmont, a rural town nestled in the sweltering heat of Texas. These haunting questions become even more oppressive because small-town Texas folks know they're supposed conform to "fit in."... A pedophile who preys on unsuspecting children with his camera ...A wealthy funeral director who takes advantage of his despondent clients in the most despicable ways...A wretched old women who steals and murders dogs for profit...And a heartless government swine who swindles money intended for safe school drinking water systems...They all turn up dead. All viciously poisoned by nicotine liquid. All demented, tortured souls who cry out from the hereafter for justice. So, justice must be served - even as the "good" people of Larchmont cheer their deaths. If feeling sympathy for a psychotic serial killer crosses a dark forbidden line, the questions The Butterflies ask are...Who gets to draw the line? And who gets to move it?...

This book may sound vicious but I can assure you that there was little blood and gore. In fact this book is the perfect one for readers who like a good thriller but not the blood and gore. For a thriller fan like me, I was very happy with this book. The fact that the two main characters, Molly and Manny are damaged made them more personable. In fact, Molly said it best about the two of them "You and I are a team; you're the best partner I could hope for; we're not perfect, that's true; but who is". This could not have been said any better. Molly and Manny truly did make good partners. They complimented each other in the investigation. Speaking of the murders. It was hard to feel any remorse for the victims. All of them were bad people. They things they did would make anyone want to kill them. In all the murder books I have read I can't quite recall coming across murder by nicotine poisoning. So, this was refreshing to come across a new way versus stabbing, mutilation, strangling, etc. If you are looking for a good book to read, you should check this book out. Author, Kimberley Waldron serves up a thrilling, good read with complex characters, and a strong storyline in The Butterflies that is sure to be a fan among thriller fans!

I Won this book in a Goodreads Giveaway. This book is about a small town called Larchmont, Texas. Molly McGowan is a homicide detective for that town. And someone is killing people, and seems to only be targeting those that were hurting the community - corrupt officials, abusive philanthropists, Pedophiles. I mean murder is murder but how can you feel bad when it's bad people who kinda of deserve it.

This is a pretty entertaining murder mystery. There were a couple of times I thought I had figured out who was killing everyone and fortunately for me, I was wrong. Waldron keeps her readers guessing and the story moving right along preventing the reader from getting bored. I enjoyed her use of the chemicals and her knowledge of science. It added a little something extra to the story that I hadn’t read before. The cast of characters in this book seemed very realistic. You have Molly, the woman who was done wrong and had a child out of wedlock but made something of herself all while raising her child. You have Manny who is a hardworking family man who is pushed to the limits because of the actions of his wife and father-in-law. Then there is Johnny and Cammie, the poor couple who were tremendous philanthropists in the community in which they lived but behind closed doors there were hidden, and not so hidden, secrets. These are only a few of the numerous interesting and well-developed characters in this book.Overall a tremendous read with multiple characters, twists, and a highly enjoyable story line, if serial killings can qualify as entertaining. I’d definitely recommend it to people who love a good thriller.

Initially I thought I was going to really enjoy this book. However, although the first couple of murders had me intrigued, this soon waned as there appeared no coherent connection to link the victims yet the "clues" seemed to lead a very obvious path. Just as I was making the assumption that there must be a very clever twist there came the reveal in a very matter of fact fashion with no confrontation, suspense or deduction involved. Very disappointed with the construction of the plot.

I wanted to like it but it never drew me in. The characters felt superficial and you can see the twist coming a mile away. When the killer is revealed it's done almost nonchalantly and ends up being anti-climactic. I see several great reviews for this book, so perhaps it just wasn't for me.*Note: I won a copy of this book in a Goodreads giveaway.

A book that was hard to put down! This was truly a psychological mystery. Something was happening in every chapter. The ending was a total surprise. I kept waiting for something else to happen.

Interesting until the endThe book captured my attention even with all the character jumping. The end was not what I expected at all and seemed rushed and abrupt.

Great book. Enjoyed every minute of it. Not the type to give nightmares and keeps you turning the pages. Was sorry when it was over. Looking forward to her next book.

this is the first book that I have read from this author. This Author as most knows how to pull a reader into their books. Her writing style is just perfect and easy to readWhen you first open this book you will meet a characater named, Buck Regal he had a busted head light on his car and hemade his way into the hospital and came to a halt. Then you will meet Raymond and he basically moved so he wouldn't get smashed like a bug and he looked at Dottie Blossomas she turned her direction towards Raymond and said to him, why are you here for the night swift is for newbies.
