Rating 3.5Caine is shocked when he is told by his boss to go and get his daughter from San Rafael since the country seems to be in unrest. Caine dated Lexie for a month but he didn't like her life of partying and doing nothing and then he was called away on assignment and captured so his plan of talking to her never materialized but when he makes his way to her, he finds a very different Lexie, one who tells him she trained to be a nurse five years ago and loves where she is and helping out people and also finds out to his shock, she gave birth to his daughter Ana, who is two months old.Lexie is shocked to see Caine, she is over him and he represents her old life where she was under her father's thumb and did nothing worth-while. She also feels she never knew him since he never opened up and is just like her father, controlling and she does not want to go back to her old life but when she finds out that they are in danger, all three of them make a trek through the forest for safety.Their journey is filled with danger, exhaustion and the fact that Lexie is a nursing mother but through all of that Lexie showed great strength once she came to terms with the fact that she had to leave the place she had finally found peace. She is also hurt by the fact that Caine doesn't seem to want to acknowledge their daughter and tries to keep distance by referring to her as kid.We of course know that he has his own reasons related to his father and ex-wife but the revelations come slowly in the book. Both of these see a side to each other they never saw in civilization since they are now operating on instincts of survival. The chemistry between them cannot be denied but it is the opening up of each others inner thoughts and feelings that take time and Caine is the quintessential strong, silent hero who appears unruffled.I enjoyed the book but you have to overlook many common sense stuff like Ana is a just two months old and never even once cried.

To Save His Child by Margaret WatsonInto the Storm #1Caine O’Rourke and Lexie Hollister were a couple eleven months before this book begins. For a number of reasons their relationship abruptly ended only to be given a second chance when Lexie’s father requests that Caine bring her home to safety from a country falling into war. Caine agrees, for his own reasons, and finds that the past eleven months have changed Lexie in many ways. The chemistry is still there and Lexie has taken on new responsibilities and has matured a great deal. But whether or not they can have a HEA ending will depend on getting Lexie and her two month old baby through the jungle to safety without being captured by El Cuchillo. I really enjoyed this story. I kept thinking about insects and how they devour me and hoped they had insect repellent, for instance or wondered about just how many calories one would need to sustain a nursing mother on horribly long treks through dense jungle heat BUT those things are really not the issue in a second chance love story…not really…it is about reconnecting and caring and loving and this couple had to regain trust and find a way forward. I enjoy this author’s books and believe this reedit from her 1996 version printed by Harlequin is great. I have not read that version but did find this one to be relevant and current and definitely a fun read. Thank you to the author for the copy to read and review. This is my honest opinion. 4 Stars

To Save A Child is book 1 in the Into The Storm series by Margaret Watson. This book is a fast paced romance that will pull at your heart-strings while keeping you on the edge of your seat. I know it did for me. I only planned on reading a couple of chapters and before I knew it, I had read the entire book in one sitting.I really am not a fan of the surprise baby plotlines that are used in some romance novels. Mainly because there are excuses made up by the mother about why they never told the father about the baby. But in To Save A Child, there are no excuses. Even if Lexie wanted to tell Caine, she wouldn’t have been able to find him. He had left her sleeping in his bed and went on a mission that went south (want to know exactly what happened….you need to read the book). Lexie ran to San Rafael, found out she was pregnant and had her baby there. There was no communication between them until he turned up at her house and told her that she was in danger and that she needed to leave. At first, I thought Lexie was a bit of a brat. Caine is in her house, telling her “You are in danger, you have to go” and she flat-out told him no, she needed to wait for the vaccines. I kinda sat on my couch, shaking my head and I also kinda wanted to reach through the book, smack her and say “If someone says you have to go, you are in danger, you GO.” Even when Caine found out about Ana and stressed that Ana was in danger too, she was like “Let’s wait until after the vaccines come“. Again, it was a repeat of my above statement. It wasn’t until they were in the jungle that my opinion of her changed. Caine had been dealt a serious blow when he found out about Ana and I think he handled it fairly well. He was still focused on getting Lexie and Ana to safety. I also felt awful for him because of his past. Because of that, he felt he couldn’t be a good father to any child and he was afraid to bond with Ana. He showed, with all of his actions while they were trekking through the jungle, that he was a good father and protector. I just wish that he saw that before the end of the book. I know that Lexie did.Speaking of that trek, it was perilous and had so much danger. Caine set a grueling pace and didn’t allow for much stopping, only stopping long enough to let Lexie nurse Ana and change her diaper. Honestly, if that were me doing that, I don’t think that I would have made it. Even when they got to the city, they still had to escape and how they did it was amazing. The sex scenes were very hot. I had read a lot of books where they had been a little graphic and To Save A Child struck just the right balance. Hot but not dirty and I loved it.The end of the book was pretty typical and was an HEA. Over all a great book that you could read while at the beach or by the pool. How many stars will I give To Save A Child: 4Why: Great plot, great sex, and good charactersWill I reread: YesWill I recommend to family and friends: YesAge range: AdultWhy: Sex, language, and some mild violence**I received a free copy of this book and volunteered to review it**

I received an Advanced Reader Copy, and am leaving a voluntary review. To Save His Child is one of Margaret Watson’s early books and was originally published for Silhouette Intimate Moments. However, Ms. Watson has re-edited this novel in order to update it as well as to make improvements that reflect her increased writing experience. This novel is an exciting romantic suspense novel with lots of adventure and intrigue. There are so many twists and turns that, even though I knew there would be a happy ending, I often wondered how we were going to get there.Caine and Lexi are wonderful, three-dimensional characters. It is interesting to watch them go through many changes throughout this story. Caine is a former SEAL who currently works for Lexi’s father. Lexi and Caine had a past relationship which ended when Caine, one morning, left her sleeping in his bed and never came back.Lexi was originally a party girl who lived with her father. When she appears in the story, she is an independent woman who manages to travel through the desert carrying her two month old baby without complaining or whining about her fatigue, pain and hunger.Caine finds out that Lexi’s baby is also his. Unfortunately, he refuses to acknowledge her because he doesn’t believe himself to be “daddy material.” I love Caine because underneath his gruff exterior is a gentle, caring man who wants to love his daughter. This is an exciting book that I highly recommend!

When Caine's boss sends him to get his daughter out of an increasingly hostile country, Caine is expecting to find the party girl he walked out on. What he found instead was Lexie, a nurse taking care of the townsfolk. Stunned by the change in her, he's also in for another shock when he discovers Lexie has a two month old daughter. Doing the math, he quickly realizes she's his. When danger comes knocking on Lexie's door, the trio set out on a perilous journey through the jungle. To Save His Child is a non-stop action packed book. Caine and Lexie, with baby Ana in tow, are constantly on the move to avoid their enemies. Along the way, the pair open up with each other more than they ever had before, learning who they truly were. I loved seeing how Caine, who didn't believe he was father material, slowly came around to the idea that maybe he could be a father to Ana. It was a little hard to believe that a two month old didn't cry the entire time they were trudging through the jungle, but it was easy to overlook that when there was so many other things going on. If you like suspense mixed in with your romance or are a fan of the second chances trope, you should give this one a read.**A copy was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review**

4.5 Jungle Lovin StarsI really like single parent tropes so this one jumped right on to my kindle. I have read other series by this author and she continues to amaze me with her creativity. This is a wonderful second chance romance with a whole lot of suspense thrown in. There were times I thought I was watching a movie. So much action had me feeling a little fearful for Lexie and Caine. Add in a baby to the hot mess they find themselves in and it jacked the tension up even more. Lexie is the star here. So brave and so independent. I loved her to pieces. Caine was a bit of a pain in the a$$ at least toward Lexie at first. As the adventure continued, he started to grow on me a bit more. When he offers to watch the baby while Lexie rest---he had me hooked then. I would love to go back and visit this couple again. I wonder what they have settled into. to me that's a sign of a great story. It leaves me wanting MORE! Always a pleasure to read for this author! Grab this one! *Complimentary copy provided for an honest review.

I started the book skeptical that I would enjoy it, a newish mom and a baby racing thru the jungle with bad guys looking for them, I thought it would sputter thru, but it had the baby element that I love to read about, so I jumped in and hoped for the best. I was rewarded. The story line keeps you going and doesn't lag so you start to wonder if the book will ever finish. The interaction between the two characters and how they come to see the other person and how the 'hero' comes to see his baby girl is believable in how it comes about and the pace it comes about. I thought the very ending could have been drawn out a tad bit more, thought it ended kinda pat but I loved the book read straight thru and didn't put it down and now I wonder about a few of the characters you meet in the very beginning and their stories, and can't wait to read them. If your looking for some action a spunky heroine, a take charge guy and a cutie with a smile look no further, sit back and enjoy the read! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Copy of this book.

Action in the jungle? who would have thought it would be such an interesting read. One night of passion and the next morning he's gone. She never thought she would see him again or that she would care so much. He never thought he would be gone so long and all that got him through it was thoughts of her. The book seems too short for all that happens but is a wonderful read filled with action, intrigue, a few times where breathing or stopping was not an option, emotional (to say the least) and some passion too. Caine just rips your heart out.Great story from this author who knows passion and angst and just how to stretch it out and keep you turning the pages. I love her work and the diversity keeps me coming back. She isn't just the creator of the Donavon's she is so much more.

Caine is tasked with getting former flame Lexie out of a dangerous situation in San Rafael. Seeing Lexie again brings back a lot of old feelings but nothing compares to the shock of finding out he is the father of a two month old baby girl. A dangerous trek through the jungle with a deadly enemy in pursuit has him rethinking everything he thought he knew about Lexie. Is this the second chance that could draw them together or will it split them apart forever? This romantic suspense adventure is another great read from Margaret Watson. Realistic characters, an excellent storyline, romance, and drama make this book hard to put down. I loved it.I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

This book is a romance that will pull at your heart-strings and have you on the edge of your seat for sure, it is full of danger, love, uncertainty, action and chemistry that keeps you reading until the end. Lexie is the daughter of Caine's commanding officer he's a Seal, when they finally gave in to their lust for each other one night they didn't get to see if it could turn into something more as he was called in to do mission not realising he would be gone for months. She thought he didn't care and left to get over her heartbreak....... to another country but then found she was pregnant with no way to get in touch and unsure if he would want to know. I loved how this story went it certainly wasn't what I expected in a great way, you will have to get it to find out.

I obtained this free e-book from amazon and I am voluntarily writing a review. I enjoyed this story about a rich, spoiled politician's daughter and the man hired to rescue her from a small Mexican village before a rebel uprising occurs and their trek through the jungle to escape. What I had a hard time accepting was the absence of any bugs, snakes, or a two month old baby that never cried even when spending days in a sling against a body in the hot humid jungle. Every time Lexie plopped on the ground or against a tree I cringed expecting an unpleasant encounter but apparently the jungle is safer than the parks in Phoenix, Az. where I live. Go figure.

Uhm..,Idiotic characters? A woman who doesn’t want to leave a country where her and her child are in danger. A man who’s so determined that he won’t be a good father that he won’t even look at his child? Other than the characters the story was good. However beyond the fact that Ana is two months old and has red hair we know nothing about her. The way she didn’t cry in the entire book is just not realistic. Babies cry. Whether they are hungry or not. They cry. In a jungle where her parents are stressed out and it’s really hot? She’d cry.

HEA with all the highlights that keep you on the edge of your seat til the last pageIf you want to read an adventure and fast paced story this is the book for you. Lexie and Caine have history and unresolved issues between them. Dodging bullets, escaping into a jungle with a newborn is terrifying. Will Caine be able to protect and save them. Read this book and see why I couldn't go to bed without finishing it.

OkayI enjoyed the jungle trek. But the hot and cold misunderstandings between the H/h just got old. A lot of I’m not good enough for you from hero and hiding of feelings from each other. Plus the bad guy was too unbelievable.
