************MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD************I would be a bit of a hypocrite if I scored this book, this series anything less than five stars because of my current dislike of the man whore that inhabits it's pages because this author excels at creating angst & drama supreme. Not to do him a disservice as he is only 23 & at that age authors should refrain from fooling us into believing that an ageless monogamous love exists because it does not,at least not in reality. This guy has slept with so many women that he has lost count. He says he has used a condom with every single one of them but he has gone through a drug period & drinks to such an extent that he blacks out & has no memory so him recalling using condoms is beyond me.And than the heroine has bareback sex with him despite being fully aware of his slut reputation that is public fodder. He has sent his "one & only" an explicit video of himself having sex with 3 women all at once(than does not remember sending the video because he was YES highly drugged) to drive home his point that he had moved on than berates her for not informing him that she was in fact pregnant when he ran away after taking her virginity. His solution for when he is stressed is to hightail it to the nearest bar & whatever barfly opens her mouth & legs to him.He is constantly up to his eyeballs in other women drama.I'm unsure how the author is going to redeem this man whore as her following book has him at the depths of despair & surrounded by temptation galore but I will be there to immerse myself in ensuing soap opera.

***** 5 Cranky Stars *****Deceive is the second book in the Untold Story of Declan Reede series. If you haven't read book 0.5 or book 1 than this review will have a few spoilers for you.  We pick up right where we were left hanging in Decline. The author has amazed me with this book as it's better than the first two. I couldn't put this book down. Declan’s life was spiraling out of control.  He finally realizes what the reasons are and admitting them was a major step for him. Growing up, his father always told him not to let a girl trap him or settle down at a young age.  He should follow his dream of being a race car driver and that is what he did.  Now, coming to terms with all the mistakes he made over the past four years and trying to fix things is not easy for him especially when there is someone out to destroy him.  He now knows exactly what he wants and can picture that life, but getting there is far from easy.  Although Alyssa has been in love with Declan since high school he has done things that aren't easy to get passed. In order to work on rebuilding the relationship with her, Declan actually asks for help from the shrink he told off and is working on righting his wrongs. How many times can he be forgiven for his mistakes or ask for forgiveness?  There were so many times where I felt I was watching a train wreck about to happen and there was nothing I could do to stop it.  I almost threw my tablet a few times. As this book is told in Declan's POV, the author did an incredible job telling his story. The author did a fabulous job relating details often overlooked or missed. The addition of mystery/suspense to the storyline is awesome.  The sexual tension between Declan and Alyssa is amazing. Declan’s interactions with his parents, the shrink, his boss and teammate as well as Alyssa’s family are awesome.  Each book in this series gets better and I wish I could give this more than five stars. This is definitely an author I intend to recommend and follow.

I still love this series!!! I will not spoil this for anyone but the cliff hanger at the end I did not see coming, so now I really need more!!!! In this one I am sick of Declan feeling sorry for himself and crying. I want to scream grow up. But I know its a process in healing. And he has a lot of healing. Just as things start to go his way something always throws a wrench in his plans. Its like he has the worst luck ever.

Wow!! Deceive is jam packed with emotions, events, twists, and turns. So much is happening I could barely turn the pages fast enough! Get ready for a roller coaster ride when you read Deceive. It was nice to see Declan trying to get his life on track. Admitting to himself, and others, he was wrong for what he did was the first real step he has taken on the road to actually becoming a responsible adult. Asking for help was the second. After reading Deceive I'm truly rooting for Declan. I still want to slap him sometimes for the things he says and does but not nearly as much as in the past.Alyssa is finally acting mature when it comes to Declan. I can understand her conflicting emotions concerning their relationship. He is her first and only love. So, she wants things to work out for them. At the same time, she is afraid of being heartbroken again. I'm rooting for Alyssa to find love, peace, and contentment.I don't write spoilers but... The cliffhanger ending caught me by surprise! No, it isn't contrived. It makes sense. Michelle definitely ended the story with a bang!! Can't wait to read the next book in the Declan Reede Series-- Decipher. You really need to read Decide, Decline, and Deceive the first 3 books in the Declan Reede Series! They are fantabulous!

**Received for honest review**So we continue on from book 1 with Declan and Alyssa’s story we were left with a bit of a cliff hanger. There are so many elements to this book so bear with us as we take you through. What would you do if the one person you looked up to your whole life deceived you?He deceived your mother.Everything he ever told you a lie.The family you thought you had gone.Declan discovered that not only did Alyssa have secrets but so did so many others at Brown Plains. After years of listening to his dad the person he idolized was now gone, the person that taught him everything now gone, the person who he wanted to be proud of him gone. Never did Declan ever think his own dad was that type of person, but now he realizes what he meant buy his words over the years and what he had done to Alyssa was the last straw with Declan.Everything seems to be moving in the right direction with Alyssa if there was no one else around, when people or family or friends seem to be around everything seems to fall to shit. They work through there issues Declan tries so hard to show Alyssa that he isn’t going anywhere he wants to be a dad to Phoebe. They have some great dates and seems to be moving fast in the right direction. But for how long? Will Declan get his happy ever after with Alyssa and Phoebe? After a week or so back in Brisbane and everything going great he gets a call from his Boss “Danny” in Sydney. He needs to get back there. Why you ask? Well that you will have to find out by reading the book!!We really Loved Declan we felt so sorry for him at times he tries so hard to gain Alyssa’s trust, we aren’t really keen on Alyssa we know Declan made mistakes but she could have tried harder at the start when he first left to tell him about her pregnancy. But once again we were taken on a roller coaster we loved the book but we would have loved to have seen more interaction between Declan and Phoebe maybe more of a bond! We also hated the cliffhanger ending and now have to wait to see where there future lies.

Dear Michelle Irwin, WHY DID YOU BREAK MY HEART LIKE THAT?! Now that I got that out, I have been waiting for this book to come out forever it seems, and I LOVED LOVED LOVED IT! However, the author has climbed up the list of authors trying to kill me for the evil ending. Granted, it takes a special and talented author for me to be this upset, and she's definitely proven that! My Declan Reede's life is on a severe downward spiral. He knows what he desperately wants, but just doesn't know how to fix it. The lies and secrets surround him, and he's having a hard time not crashing and burning. All he wants is his family back, and he's fighting with everything in him to prove himself worthy. As he sees a light at the end of the tunnel, a final attack takes everything away from him, possibly for good this time. When I finished this story, I had a hard time breathing. My heart was torn out, set on fire, stomped on to get flames out, and sitting there charred, as I wait impatiently for it to be stitched back in. The character development is fantastic, as the author is showing the depth of her talent in writing characters that will live on in hearts forever. It's still a shock to me that I'm fully on my Declan's side, as I always take the females side, but there's something about his tortured soul that speaks to me on a different level. An intense, highly emotional, and well written story line flows perfectly. Michelle Irwin has taken her talented but diabolical evil writing up to new levels in Deceive, and I am still completely and utterly emotional, as I cried big ugly tears. Her sexy scenes are EXPLOSIVELY HOT hot flash goodness, and she's brilliant at sucking me into the story so deeply, that I experienced every word physically not just read them. She has quickly become kindle crack for me, and seriously the next fix can't come quickly enough, so I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY and yes, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

OMG Michelle you are killing me!! Don't miss out on this series, they just keep getting better and better!! I wanted to commit acts of violence not only towards my IPad but I wanted to jump into my book and beat the crap out of people. Michelle does a great job of keeping you hooked into her books and you will not want to put it down. This book is full of twists and turns.Declan is finally owning up to all the crap that he has pulled the last four years and is talking to a shrink to get to the bottom of everything and to find ways to cope that are healthy so he doesn't go down the same road that he's been going. He realizes that he has always loved Alyssa and is determined to prove that to her and prove to her that he is there to stay this time. Unfortunately everyone seems to be against them getting back together and it will not be as simple as he thinks.Just when you think things are going the way the should you are completely hit with something else. That ending completely took me by surprise and has me dying to read the next one. Please don't keep me hanging too long. Don't let the cliffhangers in this series keep you from reading this series, they are worth it!

AHH that ending!!! I need more!! What the hell did i just read??? I seriously wanted to throw my kindle throughout the book and even more at the end of it... It was OH SO GOOD!!! Deceive starts where Decline ended. Declan is finally owning up to the crap he pulled 4 years ago when he left. Hes trying to mend broken bridges, show Alyssa how much he still loves her and that hes never leaving again, as well as seeing a shrink for his issues. But just when you think things are going to work out..... BAM you are hit with another WTF moment and more secrets and lies are being brought to light. That is seriously all I can say about this book without giving something away. All I can say is another phenomenal read by Michelle with twists and turns throughout. 5 Stars!!!I was given this book in turn for an honest review. With the Alyssa back in Declan's life and the daughter he didn't know he had; he will do whatever it takes to earn back their trust. Only Declan Reede has enemies; will they destroy everything?Declan Reede is back and as loveable, adorable and as sweet as ever. You can't help but fall for this bad boy. Michelle Irwin has come at us with another epic book to Declan's Story; one that has you hooked living the life right along with him. You can feel each and every emotion he is going through and his life is far from easy. It's heart wrenching to see how damaged and hurt Declan truly is.This book reveals a lot of lies and misconceptions that Declan was told, ones that have shaped who he is; the realisation of this alone is heart breaking for Declan, all he has ever known and believed comes into question. I just wanted to crawl into my kindle and hug him.Alyssa is a very strong character, her feelings for Declan have never gone and she can see that both her and Declan have had their share of hurt and difficulties to deal with whilst apart, each different but as hard to live through. As their relationship gets back on track my heart was swelling for them, they deserved happiness and they deserved for outside influences to leave them alone. They were the perfect fit; they gave each other the strength and support needed to get through anything.Needless to say Michelle Irwin has left me in a state of shock and horror! The cliff-hanger in this book is agonising. I sit here feeling annoyed at Michelle yet in awe of her talent, she really knows how to write a story that will keep you captivated, and although I'm desperate to know what happens next the ending to this book is perfect and I know the next book in the series is going to be epic and worth the wait. Michelle Irwin has never let me down yet!If you love romances with emotion, drama and suspense you will absolutely love the Declan Reede series! You will need to read book #0.5 and #1 in the series to fully enjoy this book.

Please note this review may contain spoilers.DECEIVE continues on from where the previous book left off. Declan has a long way to go before fully earning Alyssa’s trust, but he’s trying to grow up and wants to fix every relationship he’s damaged. He’s getting therapy and is probably being the most honest he has been in years. Unfortunately, he still has an attitude problem and his temper remains on a short fuse, but I guess you can’t expect miracles overnight. That being said, he really goes through the ringer in this book and as much as I couldn’t standing him in DECLINE, I felt really sorry for him here. Alyssa has a heart of gold and I truly believe she is too good for Declan, but he’s the one she wants and I like that she stands up for herself when others try to interfere thinking they know what’s best for her. As nice as she is, she comes across as a secondary character because the story is so focused on Declan and everything that’s going on in his life.DECEIVE is part of a series and cannot be read as a stand-alone; you have to read DECIDE and DECLINE before reading this one. Fair warning, DECEIVE ends in a pretty big cliffhanger, because just when it looks like Declan’s about to get his life in order and things are looking up…BAM!!! His life is left in ruin and you are left hanging. You’ll be cursing your e-reader while contemplating burning an effigy of Michelle Irwin. Ok, so maybe I’m going overboard here, but seriously, you’ll be frustrated that you have to wait three whole months for the next book, while thanking the lord above that you only have to wait three months for the next book. Who is out to get Declan, and why? Hopefully we’ll find out in DECIPHER.For more reviews, please visit our website: www.romancebetweenthesheets.comI was given an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

2018-10-18 11:57 Declan’s story continues. I feel a little off track on how to write this review. I feel like I should edit my first review first… and all because the questions and misgivings I have from the first book was immediately answered at the beginning of this book. It’s as though the author had anticipated that this will happen. Well, she probably did and it’s probably planned to happen that way.If I like the previous book, I’d say I loved this one. I can see a lot of improvement on Declan which made now look so endearing and lovable in my eyes. I love that he actually grow up on this book. I also love how Alyssa reacted on the way things were thrown her way.Much as Flynn sound annoying at times, I also like the role he played into the story. Phoebe was so adorable too. Actually, I like how everyone played into the story including all the minor characters. I feel like it won’t be this good if you take out any one of them.Aside from the revelations and reconciliation, this book was also a journey of healing for Declan and much as he annoys me sometimes, I do feel his pains and am glad that he was slowly on the road to recovery. Or so I thought… I’m sort of nervous with the way this book ended and what might that mean for Declan and his road to recovery. And I’m keeping my fingers cross for Alyssa’s reaction to this another twist at the end.Although this ended in another cliffhanger, I enjoyed this book so much even the cliffhanger made sense… if that make sense. I so want to read the next book right away. Michelle Irwin’s writing just pull you in and you wouldn’t want to stop unless you have it all.

WOW!!! Spoiler Alerts below!Okay, where to start. WOW!! DECEIVE continues on from where DECLINE leaves us hanging. Declan, still has so much to prove to Alyssa, the love of his life. He has to firstly earn her trust if this is going to work. He is trying to do the right thing, he’s trying to grow up and he is trying to re-write the wrongs of his past and all the damage he left behind. He’s in therapy, his panic attacks have increased as he tries to be the most honest he has been in years. Unfortunately, he still has a major attitude problem, his fuse is short and his mouth is still fowl, but common, we love the trashy mouth he has. He is such a bloke! Alyssa what an angel this girl is. She has felt the worst pain in life, losing a child… her child with Declan, yet she has such an outlook on life one could only dream of having. Declan needs this type of influence in his life, he needs Alyssa more than he needs air and he goes to such great lengths to show her exactly that. You find yourself rooting for them, hoping he pulls his bloody finger out and shows her the errors of his ways. Alyssa wants him. She has never stopped loving him. But of course he left so much disaster behind, those closest to her are going to be debus and protective. Even Declan’s mother is worried he is going to tear her heart out once again. Then there is the relationship forming with his daughter. Take about super sweet. This book ends in a massive cliff hanger. The need to strangler the author is definitely the way you feel at the end. When everything seems to be finding a flow and you think that these two characters have found their way to see a clearer future, you are blindsided with something epic!Hopefully, Decipher gets here ASAP, because I just have to know already.

I've put writing this review off, I can't seem to find the words to truly express how I felt reading 'Deceive'... After reading 'Decide' & falling in love with what I read, then upon reading 'Decline' I thought I understood just how Declan's story was going to progess, yeah I soon had my hopes blasted away. So starting 'Deceive' I was filled with antici.....pation, totally on edge, & with a hope so strong that everything would be alright, but then I remembered that heart stopping cliffhanger in 'Decline' & was kinda worried. 'Deceive' is book 2 (book 3 in the reading order) of Michelle's "The Untold Story of Declan Reede" series, it's a MUST that this series is read in order. Declan awaken's to find himself more bruised then the day before, with only snippets from a drunken night to piece together what occured. Knowing for sure he'd ruined his chances with Alyssa, he comes clean..... I can't say much more about this, I don't want to ruin it for you.... I can say that at 40% into the book, I seriously didn't want to finish reading it, the tears were running riot, Declan's life was slightly falling apart & damn did I cry. After spending about an hour away from the book (real life called) I jumped back in, there was no way I could not find out what happened. When the ending finally happened, I just stared at my ereader, what in all honesty had happened... There was so much happening, that I was shocked at the ending of this book. Declan's life prior to finding Alyssa is definitly catching up to him. That CLIFFHANGER, I now NEED more, I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Another fan-fricking-tastic instalment in The Untold Story Series, and as always were left with questions as hanging on the very edge teetering over....We pick up where Decide finished off. Declan is still trying to put his life back together although he is his own worst enemy.Self healing....this is a road that Declan must take, a road for forgiveness and healing past wounds. You can feel each and every emotion he is going through and his life is far from easy. It's heart wrenching to see how damaged and hurt Declan truly is.Alyssa is a strong female character, her feelings for Declan have never dwindled and she can see that both her and Declan have had their share of hurt and difficulties to deal with whilst apart.Just as things start to go his way though something always throws a wrench in his plans...literally.....Can he finally get his life on track, personal and professional? Will he finally get a chance to be with the family he never knew he had?Is someone out to purposely sabotage his career & happiness in one?I will not spoil this for anyone but the cliffhanger, boy that was some cliffhanger at the end, one that I didn't see coming. Now I need more......Come at me Decipher.......If you love romances with emotion, drama and suspense you will absolutely love the Declan Reede series!

I am giving this review on behalf of Kats Book Promotions/ Katsindiebookblog. This is a great continuation from the first book. Declan is doing everything he can to get his one true love, Alyssa, back in his life. However, it seems at every corner there is always something trying to stop him. Not only is he fighting for the love of Alyssa, but he's always fighting to get his daughter love and trust. The more we get into this story, the more truths we seem to find when it comes to his family and even himself. Declan wants nothing more than the demons from his past to just go away, but can it be done? Things between him and Alyssa seem to be going pretty good, but will it honestly last? Will what is haunting Declan come back as well as his demons, or is someone out there trying to hurt him and his reputation? And if so, who is it? There are many people that do not care for him one bit, so it can be a very long list. And yet again, we are left with a massive cliffhanger. I can't complain about these, I'm a glutton for punishment so I love them!I love how more of a development all the characters are in this story, I cannot wait till the next story and will hopefully find out who or what is behind all of this.

Wow. This author is amazing. This is a book I could not put down. I believe this is better than the novella and book one in this series. Again we are taken into the head of Declan, a young man whose dreams got in the way of true love. He is spiraling out of control because of so many factors. His father telling him not to settle down at a young age and follow his dream of being a racer car driver is just one reason he choose to give up on his love, Alyssa. His mistakes are like a train wreck and even though Alyssa loves him can she forgive him for his behavior. He has a lot of trust building to regain. He employs many including his shrink to help him make up for his past mistakes. This story of Declan's choices to fix things is, at times, like watching a train wreck. This plus the mystery/suspense plot makes this book impossible to put down. There is sexual tension, and the interaction with his parents, shrink, his boss, teammates and Alyssa's family that keep you on the edge of your seat. So good I recommended it to my friends and intend to continue reading the Untold Story of Declan Reede Series.

*** Gifted in exchange for an honest review ***So the story of bad boy Declan Reede continues in Michelle Irwin's New Adult contemporary romance, this is definitely an over 18 book with the profanity and sexual exploits, but for those readers who want a good read where the bad boy has to earn his redemption the hard way, it's a book series they will love.Alyssa is Declan's first and only love, but he was too young to realise it, when he realises what he has let go, he tries his hardest to earn it back. But he's got a hard road ahead, because his womanising and alcohol fuelled escapades are going to come back and bite his cocky arse with a vengeance. The book will have you happy that he's finally growing up and taking responsibility, but then have you sad that the past comes back just when he thinks it's getting on track and we are left wondering if Declan will fight for the truth to be heard or whether he will head back into the bottle to never be seen again. We have till March 2016 for the conclusion to be out, until then, enjoy the ride as Declan tries to make Alyssa see he won't let her down again.

“Straighten it up, pull it around, and get back on track.”Declan Reede may finally have what he’s wanted, but can he keep his promises in check?Well, Michelle Irwin has done it again! This is a great sequel to Decline, and while Deceive is nothing like Decline (more romance, less hook-ups), I still LOVED every minute of it! It was a quick read, because I COULD NOT put it down. I spent the whole time anxious of what was ahead, knowing a spanner was going to be thrown into the works at some point, and that Declan was probably going to screw everything up again. The massive cliffhanger of an ending blindsided me and left me heartbroken. I’d say that I’d never read future books in this series…but I know I will. I am hooked! There’s still one question plaguing my mind. Who is deceiving Declan and spreading lies?Deceive is a heartwarming, will-break-your-heart-into-a-million-pieces sequel that is a must-read, and highly recommended. … Holy Batman!!! What a way to kill me!! This is the second full length novel of the series. I recommend reading the other two (Decide and Decline) before reading this story…Declan is a ProV8 racer with a checkered racing history. He’s now on leave from the team to get his life straight. Heading back to his home town, he is trying to right some of his many wrongs. Especially where Alyssa is concerned.Be forewarned, this book ends on with one heck of a cliffhanger! I wanted to cry and throw my kindle when I reached the end. Then, I find out I am going to have to wait until March 2016 for the next installment. What the heck am I supposed to do???The writing is amazing! These characters are so real, I got invested. You know it’s a great book when you are reading and feeling like you are there in the book. I sat there rooting for Declan and waiting for him to finally grow up and become the man he needs to be.Thank you Ms. Irwin for writing such a great series. I can’t wait for the next one…Review by Cryssy

One thing I would say about this series so far is it would make a great movie. The storyline itself is just movie material. You have drama , emotions running through it, and car racing which I love car racing in a film. It's not all about sex, you have a real feeling for the story, it's got a family in it. It has the trials and tribulations of everyday life. You have children, childhood sweethearts, best friends and parents who shock you. It's about working through the stressful situations and of new beginnings.I love Declan and Alyssa, I didn't at first I thought Declan was just your typical kid playing at being grown up and I thought Alyssa was an idiot with her expectations, but that's all changed reading deceive, yes Declan is still a kid playing grown ups, but he is growing up and my heart has gone out to Alyssa for what she has been through and dealt with on her own. I cannot wait for the next instalment of this series, I really want to know how it all works out for them both.

Okay, let me start by saying that I absolutely love this series.Never before have I gone from hating a character to loving him then back to hating him again then on to wanting to hug him just before wanting to punch him in the face! Seriously, this guy can be the biggest d**k one minute and then he does something that makes you smile.Deceive picks up where Decline ended and is jam-packed full of twists and turns and 'I didn't see that coming's.Every character in this series so far has done something that has majorly irked me but this has all just added to the realness of the story... none of the characters are perfect, they are all flawed in their own way and this just makes them more relatable. I wont go into the details of the story as I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't read either this book or the ones before it. I will however say that its a great book and I absolutely cannot wait for the next instalment.

***I received an ARC for an honest review!***So. Many. Emotions. The twists and turns will leave you gasping for air.I almost passed out when Decline ended. I. Needed. More. And Michelle gave it to me.Picking up where Decline left me hanging on for dear life, Declan is working through his demons, and trying to get his life back on track.Years after walking away from Alyssa, he realizes what a huge mistake he made. She's his ONE.He's trying his damnedest to earn back her trust, and her love. To fix what he broke. But with deceit, lies, and secrets is there any hope of redemption? Of a future for him and Alyssa? Or Phoebe? This book has all the makings of a heart-stopping, jaw-dropping, knock-you-on-your-ass action-packed ride. And I loved every second of it, but I need Decipher asap!Bravo, Michelle. On another jaw-dropping book that left me on the very edge of my seat. . .literally :)

    * I was given an arc for an honest review*Deceive continues the story of Declan Reede V8 driver and all round lovable rogue trying to prove that he's an ex ladies man and with him giving it his all to prove his love for Alyssa and their daughter Phebe. As hard as Declan tries to keep on the straight and narrow fate cant help but get in his way and make life difficult for him.I can't help but love Declan's character even for all he has done I really do believe he wants to change and Michelle Irwin really has given him an hard time in this story. I really can't wait to read what happens next in this fantastic series, I have a few suspicions of what is going on so I need some answers now!
