A bit outdated now (what DO you mean Pluto ISN'T a PLANET!) as it was written back when Pluto WAS a planet, this was one of my first introductions to some of the fascinating interstellar phenomenon that exist. When I had the oppportunity to share a telescope with a knowledgable person I could understand and enjoy what I was seeing. (WOW, that blurry thing seen through a telecope is a GALAXY!) What isn't outdated is that in the brief time since the book was created and our understanding and ability to view far away objects is much better, the objects still exist and hence the book is still as relevant now as it was then... just don't forget Pluto is no longer a Planet!

The universe we live in is a vast space. This work examines the different star systems in our universe. Some stars and planets are examined in more detail. This is a handy reference for the novice.
