This was pretty cute. Loved Kyle. He was so sweet and innocent. Another fun short from Jet Mykles.

I believe this is one of Jet Mykles first books, although the cover art has be redone and there have been some editing changes. It is a very quick read. Kyle is a thief... not by choice, he was sorta born into it. He works for a really bad guy named Quinn. Quinn has some important papers that he uses as leverage to keep Kyle working for him. He keeps these papers stored in an office safe... and when Kyle goes to steal them from Quinn- he's caught- by the only person, only man, that catches his interest... Seth. But Kyle isnt gay!! Or so he thinks... Seth wants Kyle- he has wanted him for a long time, and when he finds the paperwork that Kyle wants, he thinks to use it to HIS advantage. At first Kyle is mad, so he runs off... eventually he calls Seth back, he just cant stay away. He can't think about anyone else... he fantasizes about him all the time. When they finally come together its so wonderful, but are there more things that Seth isnt telling Kyle about his past??? Hot book... very short story, easy to read. I like Jet Mykles style. Sexy, but with a little humor thrown in.

It wasn't fleshed out enough for my liking and a little unrealistic even for fiction.

A pair of gorgeous thieves, hot sex, and a little mystery thrown together give another Mykles well-written and enjoyable story. Coming in just under 70 pages, Snagged is an easy and light romance with a lot of yaoi flavor and not much depth. Although this is a stand-alone title, there are a lot of questions not answered and some background information glossed over. That said, if you are looking for a fast read with great characters, sizzling chemistry, and a thin plot, Mykles delivers easily. Both characters of Seth and Kyle were likable with Seth as the clear aggressor and Kyle as the young but talented virgin who is not gay yet can’t stop thinking about Seth. The book starts with a scene filled with the sexual sparks between Seth and Kyle and show the strength of both the writing and the story are when these two are together. The sex scenes are the most enjoyable with an increase in emotion and texture that was mostly lacking in other areas. Without a doubt, Mykles can write a sexy and titillating erotic encounter sure to please any fan of the genre. The plot was rather thin with the loose thread of Kyle getting away from a life of crime with Seth’s help and after some brief soul searching, Kyle returns to Seth since he can’t live without him. There’s a slight twist at the end regarding Seth’s job and a possible future together for both men but it’s weak and unnecessary other than to set up an ending that seems fitting for both Seth and Kyle. However dubious the actual plot may be, the concise and easy writing keeps this story moving quick and light giving an appealing story that’s fun to read.Several questions remain after the story ends which include how Kyle and Seth got involved with the all-powerful crime boss, how exactly they got away, what Kyle’s new job entails, how Seth ended up in his current job and well the list goes on. These are questions that are largely ignored or easily glossed over with a hint here and there. The clear focus is always on the chemistry between Seth and Kyle with the thin mystery the reason for Seth and Kyle’s initial meeting. Even with all these unanswered questions and hanging threads, it’s easy to ignore these and enjoy the story with it’s fast paced action, incredibly hot sex scenes, and sexy men.The novelty of the idea and unique voice of the author makes this a must read for those die hard fans of hers. It’s definitely a great, fast read so anyone new to the author or genre can enjoy this as an introduction. Keep in mind it’s purely enjoyable without too much mystery or depth- diet yaoi light. However, the author’s gift for prose, dialogue and instantly appealing characters will keep you happy that you read it.

Wow, I think I must have read a different book than everyone else. After the major secret is released at the end of the book, I just wanted to yell at Kyle to run as fast and far as he could. Take the cash, leave the wallet and disappear if possible. I am not saying that it was out of character or even a suprise that Kyle stayed. A 19 year old in his fist love/lust relationship would more than likely stay. But after Kyle discovered/admitted that Seth had manipulated him throughout the story, I find it very difficult to trust that Seth had true feelings for him. What redeeming qualities do we see in Seth, other than he is beautiful?I do believe that Kyle enjoyed the thrill of proving he could steal whatever he chose. But hearing that this organization makes their operatives set off bombs or perform as assassins amongst the other tasks seems like Kyle would end up over his head. Especially since once they've decided they want you as an operative, you don't really have a choice. Seth himself compares the organization to La Femme Nikita. This is the future that I am supposed to want for Kyle? Oh yeah, Seth is the one that early on suggested Kyle as a potential employee.I am supposed to be happy about this ending? Best case, Seth meant it when he states he loves Kyle. Well great. But I cannot believe that there would ever be an hea. What happens when the organization decides they need Seth to go undercover again for months/years and seduce people along the way...or that Kyle needs to not only steal items, but take out targets as well? Most all of Kyle's life has been spent trapped in bad situations by people who supposedly loved or protected him. Evidently his future is destined to hold the same. In the end I just felt sad for Kyle.

Just so-so. It's a good thing this wasn't the first Jet Mykles I read even though it was the first one I bought. It's probably too short for me as Kyle and Seth seemed to just segue into a sweet relationship without much angst for two guys whose professions were anything but conducive for a normal, healthy relationship.

Intriguing premise that delivers. Loved Kyle and Seth as the suave, experienced older man, especially in his quasi-protector role, but for me, the story essentially ended with Chapter Seven. Kyle opening up to his sexuality was incredible, but Chapter Eight and onward was superfluous super-spy fantasy that just didn’t turn my crank.

Quick novella; 80-something pages. Cute, sexy m/m story, typical Jet Mykles. Not quite as good as the Heaven Sent stories, but she did introduce a new position... ;)

Snagged was the book which led to me discovering the delights of Jet Mykles' writing. Not long after I had started reading m/m I was perusing the recent releases at Loose Id when my attention was grabbed by this PL Nunn cover. I went on to buy the book, read it and promptly returned to buy up all the Heaven Sent books plus Tech Support and devour them one after the other. This was also the book which began my love affair with Gay For You. So although this may not be the best book written by Jet Mykles, it's still one that I come back to again and again when I need a quick comfort read. The story begins with thief Kyle sneaking into his boss' study to steal an important letter from his safe. This letter contains blackmail information which Kyle's boss is using to keep Kyle under his control. When he gets into the safe he finds it empty. Disappointed, he turns to go when he is apprehended by Seth, a man who also works for Kyle's boss, who shows Kyle that he has the letter and arranges to meet him in a cafe. When Kyle gets to the cafe Seth refuses to hand over the letter, hints that Kyle's boss is in trouble and tells Kyle that he will explain all if he will come to his house. Once at Seth's house (and in the hot tub) Seth tries to seduce Kyle, but Kyle's not gay and rejects Seth, running away with Seth's jacket and money provided by Seth. One of the best things about this book is the whole first section leading up to, and including, Seth's attempt to seduce Kyle. I love how Jet Mykles can catch perfectly the 'I'm not gay but I find this guy tremendously attractive' thoughts that run through a character in a GFY. This is built up slowly through Kyle's observations about how he is attracted to Seth's looks and body, almost against his will and there are some great 'no, no, no, yes, yes, yes' moments as Seth carefully seduces Kyle in the hot tub. In fact the scene in the hot tub is a masterclass in sexual tension and how to structure a GFY seduction scene. Plus it's smoking hot.Once Kyle escapes, I like how the book has a settling down period for Kyle. This is also a time when he grows up and does some thinking about his life and how he feels about Seth. This means that Kyle grows as a character and matures so that the end is less about instinct and more a thoughtful realisation that Kyle has made a choice and that choice is Seth. There's also a great sense of fun between the characters in Snagged. Let's face it GFY is just fantasy so why not have some laughs along the way? Most of the fun scenes happen towards the end of the book and this made a nice contrast to the tension at the beginning.Snagged isn't perfect by any means: The ending is quite weak compared to the tense, thrilling opening section; Seth's shady government job is never really explained except in the vaguest of terms; and the only female character is a slut and a bit of a bitch. However, I still enjoy reading this book and highly recommend it to anyone who loves Gay For You. I also think it's a really good introduction to Jet Mykles' books as it contains many of the ideas and themes which are extended and explored in her other books.Overall, if you haven't read it already (and I'm guessing that that won't be many of you) then I suggest you pop along to Loose Id (or click on the book cover) and give Snagged a go. I love it, it gets a grade of 'Excellent' and a well thumbed (or clicked) place on my keeper shelf.

B&N Synopsis:"It's rather ironic, isn't it, that Kyle plans to steal the papers that will free him from the life of a thief? To his surprise, Seth's real nice about the papers. He promises not to turn them, or Kyle over. He'll even give them to Kyle, if Kyle will just come home with him. Obviously Seth's up to something, but what?" This one is good, but not as good as some of the author's other books. Maybe because the scenario seemed a bit too far-fetched, or the plot too neatly wrapped up. IDK. I'm not saying that I didn't like the book - I do. Just not as much as usual. I think the mob aspect detracted from my enjoyment of it. I've had enough of the scary mob scene, overloaded on the Soprano's and Godfather and such. The mob is not fascinating to me, its just brutes running around thinking that because they have money, they can run underground illegal trades, and are above the law. IMO they are just thugs who should be taken out, and I don't really care much about the details.OK, so I'm ranting again. Sorry. I do think that is why my review of this book is not as high as my other ratings of her books.I would definately read Jet Mykles over many other authors any day, because she writes m/m so well. Her characters are hot, sensual creatures that you really wish you could see in action. Her sex scenes are great, the sex never seems cheap or the characters easy. So while this particular story was not a home run for me, I would still recommend it to readers of m/m romance.

I read this novella on my way to work and I have no idea if I was having a bad day or what, but me negative reaction was very strong and I feel I need to say that, so this review can be read in proper light. So, all in all Jet Mykles is a hit or miss for me. The last book by the same author I read was Just For You, which I liked and that is why I originally bought Snagged. The beginning of the story was cute and I enjoyed the way it jumped right into action. The characters were nice, very Jet Myklesy and I was very happy reading on. Then, the woman. Had this been a book by another author, I think my reaction would've been milder. I'm not sure if it's just in my imagination, or if almost all the books (m/m books, that is) by this author have the guys either fucking women or wanting to fuck women or hinting at their partners that they should fuck women. And I would've gotten it, if this had been a different sort of story, with more depth and more emphasis on the MCs struggle with his sexuality, but it simply felt superfluous that there was the part with him sleeping with a woman, who I think was the only character besides the two MCs and had no other purpose. Also, the ending didn't sit well with me. I thought it was too much information and twists in such a short bit. And I would've liked it if Kyle had become a librarian rather than a secret agent. But, because of my hissy fit I can't tell how much of my thoughts were colored by the het-sex incident. The story didn't otherwise dwell in useless information or try to overly deepen the plot. The light tone was consistent as well and the story was well written.

A Joyfully Jay review. 4.5 starsWell, I promised you guys a review of the first m/m book I ever read, and here it is, the one that popped my cherry. Of course I love this book for nostalgic reasons, being my first, but it’s also just a damned good story. Even though review are essentially just opinions, I try not to get too personal in them, but I think it’s going to be kind of impossible with this one. This story helped shape so many of my opinions on m/m fiction (both as a reader and an author) that it would be unavoidable not to mention that. This was the book that essentially set my writing career in motion and was my first lesson in strong characters, witty discourse, building tension, and how to make a sex scene hot.Read Angi's review in its entirety here.

This is pure ‘yaoi fic’. The plot on its own would easily qualify as something straight out of the annals of ‘yaoi manga’: Kyle is an 18 yo safecracker-being blackmailed into stealing by his dead father’s boss. [The man has evidence that he’s a thief, so uses it to force Kyle to steal for him]. So Kyle figures he’s just going to steal the evidence and get out from under boss man’s thumb—NOT. He gets caught by one of the boss’s henchman, Seth, who also demands a payment in order to keep quiet—the male/male sort. Seth has an interesting story though, especially when it comes to the boss’s hold over Kyle, which comes out as you read—I like where the story went, because it’s not where I thought it would go [I don’t want ruin it.]Get this book if you’re into this sort of fiction. The cover is hot—except for the typography. Do pubs not realize that puffy oversized text is made of some serious suck? 0_o.

When Kyle contacts Seth and they get together, one of Seth's superiors finds them. Novellas frustrate me. Here we have a story with an interesting plot and interesting characters, but because of the length it is rushed and underdeveloped. There was a lot of potential in this - it could have had a Mission Impossible type feel to it with a lot more development.Kyle is caught stealing some papers by Seth, the only man that he's ever been attracted to. Seth turns out to be a lot more than he seems, however. While I did enjoy the beginning of the book when we're trying to figure out what Seth's game is, I was a little disappointed with the overall fit and finish. There should have been a well thought out heist that the men pulled together to take this book to the next level.

Kyle plans to steal some papers that will lead to him leaving the life of a thief. But there is a snag, Seth, the only man that has ever been able to set him on edge, gets the papers first. Kyle's not gay, but Seth sets his blood on fire. Seth's really nice about the whole thing though, and says he will give them to Kyle, if he comes home with him. It was a little short, and would have been nice if it went back into Kyle's past more so we knew what was really going on with the papers, and him being a thief. Did they ever really say what the papers was? I don't remember. Other than that I liked it.

Kyle is trying to steal back his life only Seth beats him to it. Seth poses many problems for Kyle- aside from the papers that Seth got to before him, there is also the fact that Seth is the only person Kyle is attracted to, which is a problem since Kyle isn't gay.Is not an awful story, however it's a whole lot of the same as far a Jet Mykles stories go. The part of the story not about the relationship had potential, but then we seemed to fall back on the same old gay for you/out for you type of story I've come to expect from Mykles.Which is to say it's not awful, I just wish that we got more from the characters in addition to the relationship.

A cute, stand-alone story. Definitely not my favorite from Mykles, but fun. This is a cute romance between a young thief and the thief-turned-secret-operative who gets him out of trouble. And then back in, of course.Seth's feelings for Kyle are interesting. On the one hand, the reader is like "Oh, cute." On the other hand, there's some definite advantage-taking. But Kyle comes back to the bait and then joins stays on, so I guess he made his bed. *snicker*

Not a bad story. Just not my fave by this author.(view spoiler)[A lot is said about how young Kyle is and how he's a "younger man" to Seth. The cover is a litte nuts but the story line is really pretty good. It would have made a great full length novel because i liked the whole premise of tne the book. Uncover black ops alpha falls for younger bad guy who turns out to be an innocent good guy. This was my first Jet Mykles book but it won't be my last. Why do I allow book covers to bother me so much?
