Mystery at Black Horse Farm Reviews
I love this book so much, when I first started reading it I believed it wasn't going to be any good, but as I read on a bit further, It got very interesting, Starting with the young blonde named Hayley. She had this so called 'necklace' that she thought was very valuable, So after she said this all these strange things started happening, She was nearly strangled to death, then she said she saw a hand pop out from behind the door reaching for the necklace. Then she was out riding and this strange boy that said he was 15 who is really 17 was named Grant, kept trying to get her off on their own to knock her out to get the necklace, Oliver (Yasmine's Boyfriend) wouldn't let it happen. Later on Oliver and Yasmine heard the groom for Black Horse Farm, Terry, talking on the phone to June (Haley's Mother) about telling Hayley to ride out to the wood shed to help her with something, Olvier and Yasmine got to wondering, 'What could June possibly need Hayley out there for?' Soon, they came across the wood shed and they find Hayley, Laying in the trail out cold. She comes too after Yasmine sets out to find June, June says to Yasmine "I never made any phone calls to anyone.." Hayley was taken to the hospital for a head hitting, she later told Yasmine "I was hit in the back of the head by a tall dark figure, possibly a man." They ruled out her father because he's Hayley's father, It's not like he would do anything to her... Would he?? They find out another camper (Lee) was also quiet tall, and he was out on his own with his friend Chas, They had been seperated from a group when they were treasure hunting on horseback. Well, at the end it was Terry the groom, Grant was his son and his mother was the 'housekeeper' Maureen. She was using the 'Spring Cleaning' as an excuse to look for the map that was to Black Horse Farm, who was previously owned by a bank robber, who hid thousands and thousands of dollars in the house somewhere, so they were digging and they saw Oliver and Yasmine in the tree lines, so Terry set off after Yasmine while Oliver ran to the house and called the police. Grant later tried to protect Yasmine because Terry was running Flint and Lincoln (Oliver and Yasmine's horses) down to their last breathes. Terry and Maureen were later arrested and Oliver and Yasmine got along just fine after everything was setteled. The Mystery Of Black Horse Farm Was Finally Solved!!!
What ages would I recommend it too? – Seven and up. The adventure is appropriate for seven year olds, or even five year olds. The romance, pushing it closer to fourteen.Length? – Most of a day’s read.Characters? – Memorable, several characters.Setting? – Real world, horse farm.Written approximately? – 2004.Does the story leave questions in the readers mind? – Long climb to the story, then it's just over.Any issues the author (or a more recent publisher) should cover? No.Short storyline: Yasmine and Oliver go to summer horse camp together. They struggle to figure out who, and why someone wants to steal the camp' daughter's necklace.Notes for the reader: The ending is unbelievable. The timing, distance, confession, and place just don't add up. It feels tacked on.
