Wedding of the Year Reviews
Great book with a genuine, wonderful, kind, intelligent, warm-hearted and generous heroine who wasn't a doormat, and a hero who caused just the perfect amount of delicious, heart wrenching angst to make the the book a very enjoyable read. Also, the sex was superb. IF ONLY MS WEALE HAD SHOWN US THE WHOLE SCENE INSTEAD OF CUTTING IT OFF AT THE MOST EXCITING PART. Oh well, that's what I get for loving vintage romances. The heroine was absolutely perfect! Although I had a major major MAJOR issue with the nude pictures - in fact, I stopped reading the book and had decided to put it under my couldn't-finish shelf (this being a hard limit for me) but then I read all my amazing friends' reviews about it and decided to give it another chance. I wasn't disappointed. Back to the h. She was young, but she knew her mind, and she was intelligent and kind and had stalwart morals. I especially liked how she dealt with the friend-falls-in-love-with-h-and-becomes-potential-OM issue, I don't think I've ever come across a heroine who dealt as well with this issue as Anny. She was an admirable heroine. As for the H, well, as y'all know, the H can do no wrong in my eyes (unless it's something seriously, really wrong. As you guys will notice, I have multiple books shelved under the heroine-i-hated shelf, but I don't even have a hero-i-hated shelf, only a hero-i-disliked shelf). So anyway, he was cruel, he was a bastard, and I lived the angst it caused. Although in real life, if a guy ever wanted to marry me based on the grounds of 'I saw your face on a magazine and decided to marry you', you'd see me running in the opposite direction. Not to mention, I couldn't ever respect a man who makes such big decisions such as marriage based on superficial things such as your looks. It plays a big factor, I get it, but it shouldn't be the only factor. But oh, what the heck. This is a Harley, and nothing makes sense in Harley-world. I take them as they are, and enjoy them. And this book was a very enjoyable read indeed. I'm glad I decided to give it another chance.
3 1/2 stars. Heroine is a model, hero who is 13 years older than her, sees her face on a mag, falls in lust and is determined to make her his wife and he quickly succeeds. Savanna is head over heels in love with her husband but when she hears false rumors about her husband having an affair she is heartbroken.Sweet love story. I liked that our sweet naive heroine took a leap of faith and said yes to hero's marriage proposal and I liked hero's jealousy over her friendship with her bodyguard who of course had a crush on our lovely heroine.
3 1/2 stars. Very enjoyable oldie. It was a four star read up until the end. As in many of these older books, the entire story was told from the heroine's pov. There were hints throughout indicating some unrevealed reason for the hero's quick decision to find and marry her (after only seeing her pic on a magazine cover) even though he did not love her. In the end, there was nothing to reveal except that he had come to love her. Just a bit of a let down, but still a lovely read.
A feel good story with an older hero and younger heroine who is quite immature. Very little tension and will not satisfy a reader if angst is wanted. A good read that will be forgotten quickly yet fills the need for a pleasant time.
the book was lousy !!the hero was such a cold fish. i did not sense any romantic feelings let alone lust !! this was no love story. it was all about a man meant to settle down this year, infact he even told the heroine if she did not want to marry him, no problem he wud find another candidate for the post but of course it wud be a bother but small however. he did mean it. the heroine had no self respect n she agreed 2 go on even then. just 2 show u how absurd the story was. a big LOL
Felt sorry for the heroine at the same time that I didn'tThe hero misled her and she found out right before the wedding that he didn't really love her, just thought she'd be the perfect wife and he would find someone else if she didn't marry himDidn't feel sorry for her when she actually went through with marrying him after thatAt the end, he realized he really did love herI think this book will be kind of forgettable
A cute little story not really worth it but sweet just needed more drama or something. It was just flat to me.
