Short, sweet, cute and to the point. The once pushover Candy Girl gets her voice, becomes a butterfly, gets her man and squashes her bitch cousin for the cockroach that she is.

Recommended by Golden Stanton-Jones.What a 'goodread' by Eve Vaughn! Love the way she writes! This was Gabe's and Julie, 'his Candy girl's story. I really enjoyed this read because of the growth of Julie in this story. Julie works for Gabe in a marketing business and is called "Candy Girl" because she fills a candy dish daily for ungrateful co-workers in their workplace. You will instantly see that Julie is being used by her co-workers for her 'treats' and her good listening skills (no judgment) and Gabe's wants to put an end to it. I was engrossed with how Gabe and Julie's lives intertwine in this IR story in the course of five months after Julie deals with her cheating boyfriend, Henry with her spiteful cousin, Corrine. I loved Rufus, Julie's dog and her best friend, Sheridan!I highly recommend this story for readers who like vivid details in every way... literally! 5 stars!!!P.S. "Holiday Hell" is Julie's best friend Sheridan's story.

Description: Overly nice girl, Julie Bennett discovers that Gabriel Carland, her cold boss, actually runs hot for her.The Good: It’s always fun to see a pushover finally stand up for herself. And the sex is both playful and hot. Nice girls do!The Bad: The story feels a bit rushed, especially when it comes to the emotional arc. After the initial seduction, Gabriel Carland isn’t given much to do or any further personal development. The Naughty: Anal, explicit sex, graphic language, toys.Editing issues: NoPublisher: Loose IdLength: NovellaFinal Grade: CLove IR romances as much as I do? I'm behind on sharing the many books I've read, when receiving the opportunity. Eve Vaughn is one of my favorite authors. This book, Candy Girl was an awesome read. The heroine was taken advantage of in the office, supplying candy to everyone who would take without giving. No one ever offered to bring candy in or to reimburse her for this act of kindness. The heroine was a person who was afraid to say no, until her boss steps in to comfort her from her boyfriend's betrayal. The two discover and act upon their chemistry, and the situation gets hotter than hell!Anyway, I enjoy how the heroine finally summons enough strength to tell those around her "no." That means, no more supplying candy, and refusing to allow folks to pawn off their work on her. I work in an office setting, and I can relate. If you don't draw that fine line and are afraid to say no, folks will take kindness for weakness. Give them an inch, they will take a mile. Awesome job Eve!

Not the best of her workI really debated leaving a (negative) review, because I discovered Eve Vaughn’s work this year and fell in love with her writing. This is my 6th or 7th book of hers? But, this one seemed like it wasn’t even a work of hers. It was rushed from the very beginning. There wasn’t much of a story to it, it just went right into it right away. And it was very corny, from the conversations to the scenes. She’s a very good author. I would recommend a handful of books to read of hers. But, this one, unfortunately is not one. I was disappointed. It’s definitely not worth the pay.

This was a very nice and light read. Short, kinda insta-lusty but it actually worked. Made you care about the characters and the main character evolved towards the end of the book.Recommended for people who would like a light, short, love (others and self) story.

Hehehehe.. Sebagai tambahan, usia dibawah 20+ sangat tidak disarankan membaca cerita ini karena ada unsur erotica romance dan ada beberapa kata-kata yang vulgar.

This was an enjoyable story, more so than I had originally thought it would be. It was fairly simplistic, but for all that it was still good read. I liked Julie and drooled like crazy over Gabe: I loved that he was so tied up in knots over her. As far as he was concerned Julie was vastly underappreciated. He liked Julie for who she was as a person. He was able to see beneath the mask she wore in an effort to protect herself. He hated that she would let her co-workers take advantage of her easy-going nature. At the same time that he wanted to protect, he knew enough that she had to learn to stand up for herself.Julie was a pushover, no two ways about it. Most of her life she had wanted peace at any cost and the cost was usually her self-esteem. I know people like her, people so afraid of not being liked, not wanting to upset anyone that they become a door mat. And, as so often happens, people will take advantage.I knew that there was hope for her when she realised that she went too far to keep peace, but she had no real reason to change… until her, seemingly, comfortable life crashed down around her. This was not only a steamy and sexy romance, but it was a story of a woman finally learning that she had value and doing something about it.Reviewed at Ebook Addict Reviews

I didn't care for Gabriel's treatment of Julie. He seemed to only come to her for sex, IMO, but yet she let him. I like interracial romances but I often find that they are crude and trite. This story would have been passable if Gabriel and Julie actually developed a stronger non-sexual relationship before the "slam-bam-thank-you-ma'am" portion of the romance.Reading Time: approximately 4 hours

Candy Girl is the first book I've read by author Eve Vaughn. This book is a novella so it was a quick read. Julie Bennett is tired of being everyone's pushover. Her co-workers gave her the nickname, Candy Girl, because she keeps a candy dish on her desk. Gabe, Julie's boss, has lusted after her since day one. And he hates how the co-workers take advantage of Julie's kindness and generosity. Gabe is there for her when Julie is betrayed by her boyfriend and cousin. He's there for her and sees it as the perfect opportunity to explore his attraction and feelings for her.I enjoyed the book a lot. I felt sorry for Julie. She's the nice girl who can't tell people no. I saw Gabe as Prince Charming, saving the girl from her wicked step-mother. In this case, her mean co-workers. The attraction and chemistry between Julie and Gabe was believable and hot. This is another book featuring an interracial couple (BW/WM) but while reading the book, race is not an issue. The sex scenes are steamy! Have a cold glass of water nearby while reading.

This has been on my TBR for a while, so I was glad that I finally got to it. This was a cute if not short romance where I loved seeing the heroine grow because frankly she was way too meek for me to like in the beginning. The story had a little bit of a cinderella feel to it complete with the HEA.I was wondering though if Julie's friend Sheridan would get a story. It seemed like there were hints of Sheridan having a similar situation with her boss although it seemed as if she was fighting it tooth and nail. I'll have to go searching for that!

I liked this book. It is a novella with an HEA. The HEA was completely believe-able because the novella takes place over several months. This book also gets points for its cover. Thank you so much for a pretty non-cheesy cover. I liked watching Julie gain a backbone. In the beginning I would not say that she is TSTL, she is just a doormat. The reason given for this later on make complete sense. I loved Gabe. He was hunky and sweet. Anyone looking a distraction with a side of office romance will like this one.

As a romance it came in at a 3 star.As a coming of age maybe a 3.5.It was interesting but I found the seduction too stunted. Going from 0 to 60 in 3 seconds blew it for me. I wanted more relationship building and more character development. The nasty side of me wanted to explore the depths of her pain so when he came along he would be her light. But the relationships with those the heroine has around her were definitely entertaining.

Let's see Candy Girl was an okay read, something that one would just choose to pass off boring time and then probably think why did I pick it up in the first place.....Just too much sex between Gabe & Julie which was not even romantic or anything, no moments, no tantalizing scenes,no feelings expressed....simply get in do your thing and off with it.....

Great Story I loved it.Julie Bennett emerges into her true self with the love of her man Gabriel Carland. He is supportive and loving and only wants her to be the best that she can be and does not want anyone pushing his girl around! :)

Very short and to the point. But I love that Julie aka Candy Girl grows through the course of the story. She got into bed a little quickly with the boss and all, but otherwise likable heroes and despicable villains. I wonder if she's gonna write Sheridan's story or if it's been released already.
