The 18 Rules of Happiness Reviews

I read this book on a gloomy day - today - and surprisingly, that gloominess lifted. Maybe I had the intention of changing my mood before reading the book in addition to the role this book contributed with. I believe that this book must be reread every once in a while as a reminder that happiness is created, rather than found.

A quick and thought provoking read that will change and help your outlooks. If you're already doing these things it will just boost you that much more.

There was nothing in this book that I didn't already know, but the "rules" pulled it all together in a simple, straight-forward format and was a good reminder.

Ok, We've all heard these rules sometime in life. They are simple as this book is simple. However, precisely because they are simple, few of us take em into consideration, much less we apply them. What if we do? I'm doing it now, so I tell U later how it was.

A real "upper" of a bookI plan to re-read this book several times. It's really uplifting in simple and straightforward ways. Wish it were longer.

4/5 stars Interesting read and it has some great reminders of working towards your happy self. I haven't really read a lot of books like this so some only a few things I'd heard before. The appendices repeated part of what was said in the chapters of those same sections but some things really stood out. There were great quotes throughout and it's told in a happy way - no one was telling you to be a certain way - it was more just "here are some things you can do" not have to do. Very direct, straightforward and if you want a quick self development read, I'd recommend it. The author also lists some websites which look interesting, too. While the book was short, it seemed to take a long time to read for me. The appendices were about 30% of the book - which is not a bad thing but I was surprised when the book ended on my kindle at around 70%.

Not bad really18 rules of happiness; it was really short but worth the $0.99. In most areas I found it very obvious, similar to principles I already practice so there wasn't much to take from it. But there was a few principles that was also adaptable. It was worth the read, even though the size left we saying anyone can write a book. Surprisingly in the 18th chapter - "The Review," wherein all the rules were summarised seemed to be a bit more informative than most. What I liked is how simple the steps are, nothing complicated, which makes it very doable. "If you can change things, after accepting them, you'll have a sharper mind and more energy to do so."Thanks for a good read.

18 Rules to HappinessI appreciate the rules and advice the author put together for this book. Each rule was clear, concise, and to the point. Each concept was easy to understand and follow throughout the course of the book. What I particularly liked was that Mr. Moore included a conclusion section which reviewed each rule along with a brief summary. As recommend, I do intend to reread this book every week or so often to brush up on every concept. I would recommend this book to anyone who is truly looking for the path to fulfilment and happiness.

Happiness starts insideafter reading this I now know that true happiness comes from inside & we are the only one who can make us happy. it's helping me connect more with the here & now, not focusing on the past or the future. this will be my go to book. it's an easy read & very worth while reading again & again.

let me begin this review by stating that I had the misfortune of listening to several songs out of the list of "happy" songs at the end of the book. if that is the world's idea of happy songs, I would be depressed. this was a shallow book with cliche psychological tips to be happy. nothing new. nothing thought-provoking.

A nice quick read.Nothing new, but all important things to know, the trick is implementing... no book is going to do this for you. It missed a big rule the most important one, but I'll leave the author to suggest it in a sequel

Very simple rules that I think I've been even following at some point of my life and I was really happy then, but I guess in life sometimes we just forget.. This book is a great reminder of doing all the things that will make u happy.

Simplistic, but helpfulI agree with most suggestions. I disagreed with a couple. Some people are more introverted and don't require a large social network for happiness and a couple of other things. It's just ok and generally offers superficial ideas.

Common GoodnessThese 18 Rules, to me, are common sense. Oh! How often does common sense escape when we so desperately need it? For the price, this book is a gem. The appendices are sound advice to the downcast soul. Get it

Its common senseI thought the book would be a great gift for a adolescent. Seriously. They certainly could use this information. For older adults, it's common sense. No new revelation uncovered.

Start Smiling! This book taught me that it is far harder to be unhappy than to be the opposite. By simply following the 18 rules, you will enjoy joy and peace for the rest of your life.....sometimes, the most obvious is the hardest to discover and practice in your daily life.

Sweet and simple. I guess I'm used to a heavier read, and many of the ideas I'd come across before. But it still helped reframe a few things in a positive way for me.
