Fighting for her life everyday, plotting her escape, took up most of her time. When she was forced into an intimate situation with one of the alien gladiators, she suddenly had other things to think about. Tiergar was a champion, one of the highest and deadliest rankings of gladiators on the arena station, and he had no problem taking what he needed. As often as he needed it. Kyra had a lot to think about, and not a lot of time to do it....

The aliens came to us and let it be known they were willing to give Terrans a chance to prove that they were up to the challenge of a wider universe. Only 2000 would be chosen, people with specialized talents and skills that the Alliance felt would be best suited to adjust to their new situations. The contract was simple – training would be provided but Volunteers must make their way in the stars and prove that they could live, love, and adapt by being successful. They could not return to Earth, ever. They could not mate with another Terran. They must provide an heir of their body by one of the alien races. And they must produce five Champions who were judged to be the best their race had to offer. This series is the stories of those who were declared Champions…I rate her stories pretty consistently as either 4s or 5s. Frequently there is sex - alien sex of course - and some very weird aliens they are but all seem to accomplish the 'insert tab A into slot B' thing to the delight of all concerned. Additional interest is provided when we discover that many Earth legends were actually visitations of alien species. In this series we meet the Dhemons and the almost extinct Admarians (elves – both dark and light) – but other entries include Enjels and Vimpyrs and Dragons… The common thread to these 5 stories is Negotiator Tyrell, who, as we find out in book 5, is also a Terran. This author is prolific. Really, REALLY prolific - and that's a good thing because I enjoy her stuff. Note: these are short story/short novella sized works that share a common universe – related series are the Sector Guard, Tales of the Citadel, the Rune series, Terran Times, and she has just started a second series similar to the Terran Times – only this deals with the Volunteers who have come out to the stars in the second wave. Seems like the whole Terran experiment is working out!Below is the copy and paste from the author's web:Arena StationDeal with a DhemonAvari NyxMarks of AdmarHaldis Imperium

Kyra makes a discovery of a planet that has been missing. She has to go to the planet in order to be the one to take credit for it. On the way there, she's captured and after killing 3 of her captors, sold as a fighter in the arena. Teirgar is another captured fighter who is going through male heat and since she's compatible, they bring her to him. She's more than compatible. Really good story. I plan on reading more by this author.

I love erotic scifi, and this story had potential. However, I feel that the author tried to do too much in a short story. The transition scenes were truncated where a little more development would have helped, and the last 3rd could have been in the next book. There were some minor editing errors that didn't help.I will try some more of this authors stories, as her scifi concepts are pretty good, and the sex is almost always hot.

A sexy and action-filled story. The strong and smart heroine is great, and I appreciate the lack of angst and victimhood. Despite difficult circumstances, the heroine is resilient and comes out on top.

3.5 stars. These novellas are too short for much relationship development but the sci-fi elements were interesting enough.

Story? All of Viola Grace's stories are fun! Always something new, interesting... and sci-fi (hell yea)! There is smut... buuuut it's nice and not overdone (but it IS hot!)Characters?I pretty much LIKE our leads in all the author's stories :)So it's not bad - I swear! Then why did I rate it 2 stars!? Because it's a VERY SHORT short-story. I feel a positive it-was-quite-okay sensation than an actual "I liked it(3 stars)!"* AND in revision, I'm giving it 3 or else it just seems like I would rater not have read it!

I am a huge fan of Viola Grace and her stories never disappoint for me. I really enjoyed Kyra and Tiergar's story. Kyra was a strong heroine and I think Tiergar is the perfect match for her. I really enjoy the Champions of Terra series. It is better if you read them in order because someone of the character's are reoccuring.

I liked this one, mainly because we didn't have to deal with the heroine's hysterics, and it was quick and to the point. I'm quite sure I wouldn't have fared as well as she had. There wasn't enough drama though, no uncertainty on anyone's behalf, which made the story a bit less hot.

Good story, but too many errors, which knocked it down a star.

It was ok...I felt like I was reading the cliff's notes of a really good book. Like it had all the potential but we just were getting the high lights.

Good...but insta and short. Left fuzzy feelings though... Good writting. Wished it could've been more meat to it and better fleshed out. Review pending! =)

3 stars instead of four because it was short, and thus a little rushed.

One of Viola's better books. The feisty heroine does lose a little steam towards the end but the hero was bearable.

There was a huge potential here, I just wish the author took sometime to expand this short story into a full novel and developed the plot, characters and romance.

I liked the story. I just wish it had been longer and more developed. I think I finished this short story in less than an hour.
