Pony, Bär und Apfelbaum Reviews
I read the English version of "Who Stole the Apples?". And both I and the children to whom I've read it adore it. I'd follow the lines with my finger, and whenever we'd come to one of the rebus words they'd take turns saying it. The pictures are bright and engaging, and the simple adventure to retrieve the apples is just as fun the second, or third... or twenty-fifth time around. Kids love having books re-read to them, and this was one that I really didn't mind reading multiple times per day!!!
This is a great book that's told through both words and pictures The many pictures are in place of word and so pre-readers "read" many of the words in the story. Great book to read aloud with preschoolers.
This is one of my childhood favourites, a cute little travel story. Kids can "read" along because some of the words are printed as symbols.
